Volume 1 Chapter 6: Outsmarting the Goblin King

The Goblin King is the lowest-level H-level boss among the super bosses. Although it is H-level, it is a super monster that only spawns once a week, and its ability should not be underestimated. Old birds in the internal test agree that ordinary bosses are not really bosses, but only small bosses or quasi-bosses. Only those listed in the level list are the real bosses in Zero Degree Fantasy. Take the Goblin King as an example. It is definitely several times stronger than the Goblin Chieftain. During the internal test, a level 20 warrior was proud to be able to fight the Goblin King alone.
Although my attack is high now, my HP, physical defense, and especially magic defense are much lower than those of a level 20 warrior, and I haven't started to practice professional skills yet. I am definitely no match for the Goblin King in a head-on battle. But I killed the Goblin King twice during the internal beta (there were few people at that time, and not many people came to fight H-level bosses like the Goblin King. Now that it's open beta, when most players have the ability to challenge the Goblin King, there will definitely be countless people waiting here every day to refresh. You must know that most dark gold equipment comes from super bosses). I know some tricks, and as long as the tactics are appropriate, there may be hope of success.
The monsters on the third and second floors of the cave were the same, except that there were more goblin mages. Considering that I had to fight the Goblin King, I had to start saving potions, so I moved slowly along the wall and didn't dare to rush into the goblin group like before. However, my speed didn't slow down much, but I didn't kill as much.
Alas, at first I thought I bought too many potions, but at that time I had not considered challenging the Goblin King, so although the Goblins occasionally dropped some medium-sized Life Water and Magic Water, I never checked them. Now I stuffed all of them into my backpack, just enough to make up for the damage the Goblin Mage had caused me. When I was lucky, the Goblins would also drop strong Life Water, which was a good thing. Not only did one bottle restore 500 HP, but the recovery rate was 100HP/s! When I was about to kill the deepest underground altar in the Goblin Cave, my backpack was already full, including 8 bottles of strong potions. I did not enter the altar directly, because I had less than 3,000 experience points before I had to level up. I walked around outside the altar and casually killed about 10 Goblins. The system prompted that I had reached level 12. Hey, level 12 has attribute points, so I added them to my spiritual consciousness to make up for the lack of magic defense. Now my character attributes are:
Basic properties:
Constitution: 6
Strength: 16 (16% weighted)
Accuracy: 3
Agility: 2
Wisdom: 4
Spiritual power: 1
Spiritual consciousness: 2
Why did I allocate the point at level 9 to wisdom? Because at first I planned to kill the Goblin Chief and return to the city to change my job. Wisdom is very important for the growth of skill training after taking up the job! Now I regret it a little bit. If I change the order and add the last point to the consciousness, and allocate it to wisdom this time, my magic defense can be higher by about 2 points. Although it doesn't seem much, sometimes the difference is reflected in such a little bit.
Performance attributes:
HP: 822 (622+200)
Physical Attack: 323~343
Physical defense: 141~152
Weight: 368/514
Magic Defense: 55-66
MP: 489 (289+200)
Mobile: (28.1-3.6) km/h
I looked in my backpack and found two pieces of jewelry that could be used at level 12, a white necklace with attack 4-12 and a property ring with magic defense 3-6 and magic damage -5%. I put them on quickly, so my attack was 327-355 and my magic defense became 58-72. After getting everything ready, I came to the entrance of the altar.
I walked down the stone steps carefully, and several fireballs greeted me. Haha, there were so many monsters inside, and the main force was the goblin mages. I stuck to the stone wall, endured the fireball attacks from all directions, and quickly swung the dagger in my hand to kill the monsters and cleared a path along the wall. Fortunately, my magic defense has improved a lot. Now the fireballs can only cause about 20 to 25 points of damage to me. When I was hit by 5 or 6 fireballs every two seconds, the medium water can barely replenish my life. As for the goblin mages who are not good at close combat, I can often hit their vital points, deal double damage, and cause a fatal blow, so the speed of advancement is not slow. I killed a road paved with goblin corpses, circled the edge of the altar, and rushed to the back of the altar. I only used a bottle of strong life water (of course, I drank a lot of medium water) to recover my health when my HP was less than half.
There is a cave against the wall at the back of the altar. The setting of Zero Degree Fantasy is very interesting. The various monsters or creatures in it are designed according to their habits in legends or reality. For example, dragons like to collect treasures, property and shiny things. If a master can enter the dragon cave and kill the dragon, in addition to being able to hit the dragon with equipment, he can also plunder the dragon cave and make a fortune. In Western fantasy novels, goblins are humanoid creatures who love to be greedy and collect rags (the taste is far worse than that of dragons, so only low-level equipment can be exploded). This cave is the treasure room of the goblin king. The game is set that if no one has entered the treasure room for a long time to take away the treasure inside, the items and coins in the treasure room will accumulate over time (the tribute from the monsters to the boss), so the first warrior who successfully kills the dragon often gets a much richer reward than the later ones. However, the game has only been open for a short time, and there must not be many collections in this treasure room. But my purpose is not to go in and plunder the treasure of the goblin king, but to take advantage of the terrain of the cave!
There are four level 22 monster goblin warriors guarding in front of the cave. They are the outliers among the goblins and will not spawn in other places. They are dedicated to defending the treasure house of the Goblin King. They are not only of high level but also well-equipped. Their physical attack power is 50% of that of ordinary goblins, and their defense power reaches 100 points, the same as the Goblin Chieftain!
Success or failure depends on this one. If I can kill these four guards, then I have a good chance of defeating the Goblin King. On the contrary, if I can't hold out to the end under the pincer attack of the Goblin Warrior and the Goblin Mage, I will have no choice but to resign myself to my fate and use the City Portal.
I put a bottle of powerful medicine on my head and stabbed one of the guards' eyes with a sword. This guy was covered in armor and had a helmet on his head, so his eyes were his only weak spot. Unfortunately, the range of his eyes was too small, so the sword didn't hit him, and it was only considered a normal attack, but it also cut off 244 points of his health. After all, my attack was too high!
The guards fought back, and the two goblin warriors in the front hit me twice first. My physical defense of 141-152 was also cut by more than 80 points. Awesome!
Before I could stab out the second sword, two warriors behind me attacked from the left and right. Fortunately, one missed and the other cut off 39 HP of me. In just two or three seconds, I was hit by five fireballs on my back and lost 104 HP. Even the strong effect couldn't make up for it!
There was no other way. The monsters were too dense around me. I couldn't even dodge . Except for the occasional miss determined by the system, I could only resist the rest of the attacks (low agility and low chance of miss). The goblin warrior had 800 HP. I killed one with two hits, and at the same time I lost nearly 300 more HP. Although I recovered 200 points with the powerful effect, my health still dropped to more than 600.
Fortunately, every time I killed a goblin warrior, the pressure on me was reduced. It was also thanks to me that I kept all the powerful life water for use at this critical moment. If I had drunk a moderate amount, I would have died long ago. I killed the goblin warriors as quickly as possible. I had less than 200 health points left, and only 3 bottles of powerful life water left. The warriors guarding the treasury were killed, and the goblin king on the throne in the center of the altar was of course alarmed. He roared loudly and led four goblin chieftains to rush towards me (the super boss will spawn several ordinary bosses as minions, and the higher the level of the super boss, the more minions there are)!
Hehe, I am still alive after being besieged by you? Fortunately, the monsters were too crowded. Although they dispersed and made way under the command of the Goblin King, the delay of a few seconds was enough could only allow two monsters to pass at most. I was stuck in the middle of the passage, blocking the way of the two goblin chieftains. Behind them was the Goblin King. Unfortunately, the chieftain blocked their attack route, and I was furious.
The situation was good. The goblin chieftain, who was good at magic attacks, was pushed against my chest by the goblin king behind him. Casting magic requires a certain distance. The chieftain's burning spell and explosive bombs were useless. He could only hit me with the staff in his hand, but it looked awkward no matter how he looked at it, and the damage was only a negligible 10 points.
Ha, this is awesome! On the second floor, I was beaten to a pulp by a goblin chieftain and a group of mages. Now, let me show you how I can ravage you! No, it's you guys!
I took the short sword and "gently" slashed the faces of the chiefs until both chiefs were almost dead. I stabbed one chief's neck with my sword, and it died gloriously under my sword after a scream. I deliberately left the other chief alive because its health was almost gone. The system judged this situation as seriously injured, and its attack power decreased by 50% (this judgment only applies to monsters. Players can drink medicine to replenish blood, so there is no need for this setting. However, seriously injured monsters are not necessarily weak. The system will randomly select seriously injured monsters from multiple states such as attack decrease, defense decrease, last gasp, anger burst, trapped beast fight, etc. If you are lucky enough to encounter an angry burst that makes the monster's attack power soar, you may be killed inexplicably). It can't break my defense, and it just occupies a position to prevent other monsters from rushing up to attack me. The Goblin King squeezed up from behind the fallen chief and stood side by side with the seriously injured chief. I was equivalent to fighting the Goblin King alone without interference.
Unlike the Goblin Chieftain, although the Goblin King's advanced magic such as Hellfire, Continuous Fireball, Fire Wall, etc. cannot be used at close range, its ability in hand-to-hand combat is equally strong! The Goblin King put away his commonly used king's scepter, took out a small golden axe from his waist, and chopped at my head with a "whoosh".
The narrow terrain prevented me from facing the group fight, but also left me no room to maneuver. I could only turn my head to the side and let the axe hit my shoulder. It hurt so much! The 10% pain simulation made me feel like someone hit my shoulder hard, and blood splattered. This attack actually deducted more than 130 HP from me, which means that the Goblin King's physical attack power is close to 300! The Goblin King's magic attack is even higher than his physical attack. Considering my poor magic defense, forcing it to fight me in close combat is already the most favorable situation for me!
I gritted my teeth and held on, I drew my sword and counterattacked, also cutting off more than 130 HP of the Goblin King. Damn, the Goblin King was wearing the dark gold equipment "Totem Armor", which made its defense as high as 200! The attack power of a general level 20 warrior is only 250-300. If the warrior did not have the skills "heavy attack" and "double slash", even if the Goblin King stood still and let you chop, you would have to chop until your hands were soft. But if you are lucky, when the Goblin King dies, it is possible that the "Totem Armor" will explode, then you will make a fortune!
In this way, I kept drinking medicine, kept attacking, and replenished a bottle of strong potency when necessary... Finally, when I opened the last bundle of life water, the three bottles of strong potency had already been used up, and my own HP was almost at the bottom, the system prompted: Goblin King is seriously injured, defense decreased by 50%. Good luck, it's not an angry explosion!
My attacks were much more effective now, and each sword could cause more than 200 damage to the Goblin King. Only when its HP was less than 10% would it be considered seriously injured by the system. With the Goblin King's total HP of 30,000, it only had less than 3,000 points of life left. I could win with at most 10 sword strikes!
I hacked and hacked excitedly. Haha, I scored a fatal blow! I took away more than 700 health points from the Goblin King in one go! The Goblin King let out a hoarse roar and slowly fell down!
System prompt: Player Bloody Sky, congratulations on becoming the first warrior in Zero Fantasy to kill an H-level Boss. The system rewards you with 1,000 reputation points!
Wow, I was rewarded with a set of equipment when I killed the Slime King, why did I only get reputation this time? But I didn't have time to think about this. When the Goblin King died, all the goblins in the altar seemed to sense something, screamed in fear and despair, and began to flee. Hehe, goblins are very timid creatures. I killed their leader, the Goblin King. To them, I am the embodiment of terror, so of course they have to run for their lives! Some types of monsters are not like this. Once the boss is killed, it will arouse their anger and fight you desperately. During the internal test, a player killed the super boss Unicorn Divine Beast among the unicorns. As a result, the nearby unicorn group actually exploded with anger when their health was full. The player was picking up the equipment exploded by the beast, but was caught off guard and died, causing a joke of successfully challenging the super boss but being killed by the monsters.
But even if the goblins want to escape, I will not let them go. To be more precise, I will not let go of the goblin king's followers - the remaining three goblin chieftains! They are bosses after all, and even if I don't count the equipment they will drop, the more than 10 gold coins each chieftain carries make me jealous!
Unfortunately, the narrow passage caused me trouble, so I could only chase them one by one. The chieftain who was seriously injured at the beginning recovered most of his health after such a long battle between me and the Goblin King. It took me two minutes to kill him. When I chased him out of the passage, there were only a dozen goblins left in the hall, all crowded at the exit of the altar, and still running out one by one. The two goblin chieftains had already run away. I was furious!
Forget it, I'll eat the meat, but I'll leave some soup for the players who come to the Goblin Cave later, right? Let's see who's lucky enough to find the two chieftains. But if someone arrives within 6 hours, he'll probably be upset: Why can't he see the chieftain in the second-floor hall, but find the chieftain wandering around in the third-floor passage? I'm not interested in hunting down those goblins anymore, so I start cleaning up the field. Oh, it's a great harvest, just picking up more than 80 gold coins, 13 pieces of equipment, and not enough identification scrolls. I also looted more than 20 gold coins and 4 pieces of equipment in the treasury. I came too early. If I had come a few days later to fight the Goblin King, the treasury's reserves would have doubled. But then again, if I waited a few more days, the Goblin King would probably have been killed by other players, and I'm not the only veteran!
I clicked the return scroll and returned to the Novice Village in a white light. Without saying anything, I found the teleporter NPC and paid 1 silver coin (newbie teleportation, special discount. After taking office, the teleportation points in big cities charge according to the distance, at least 10 silver coins), and was sent out of the Novice Village in the incredulous eyes of the newcomers who were only level 7 or 8 in the village - the teleportation function is only available above level 10, and no one has reached it yet.
