Volume 1 Chapter 5 Novice Set

Zero Fantasy Setting 4:
Zero Degree Fantasy Equipment Settings:
The equipment in Zero Degree Fantasy is divided into six categories: white equipment, attribute equipment, gold equipment, dark gold equipment, holy spirit equipment, and artifacts. In the case of the same level, the latter equipment is generally better than the former equipment. For example, the equipment long sword used by a level 25 warrior, the white equipment may only have basic physical attack attributes; attribute equipment will come with one or two additional attributes such as increased hit rate, increased attack speed, additional magic damage, etc.; gold equipment generally comes with more attributes; dark gold equipment is the equipment left behind by the legendary ancient warriors, with super good attributes; holy spirit equipment is the item given by the gods and demons to the believers of all races on earth, belonging to the level of fantasy equipment, and the number is extremely rare; as for the artifact, it is the equipment used by the gods and demons themselves, which was lost in the mortal world for various reasons, and is something that can be encountered but not sought.
Some equipment can be collected as a set. If you collect the whole set, you can get additional attribute bonuses.
Equipment in Zero Degree Fantasy can generally be obtained by dropping from monsters, stealing from monsters, special NPCs or players using the thief's theft technique, completing tasks as rewards, and forging by players who are casters themselves. A caster who has mastered the casting technique to the top level can create gold equipment, and if special materials (such as fragments of ancient armor) can be obtained, dark gold equipment can be forged. If there is a special opportunity to trigger a hidden task and obtain special drawings and some extremely rare materials, it is even possible to forge holy equipment. Artifacts are definitely not something that can be made by human power, and whether you can obtain them depends entirely on the player's luck.
Except for white equipment, all equipment with attributes must be identified before knowing their specific attributes and equipping them. The identification scrolls sold in the system store can identify all equipment below level 30 except dark gold equipment (there are no equipment below level 30 for holy spirit equipment and artifacts). For equipment above level 30, you can only go to a special system identification NPC to pay for identification or find an appraiser to identify it (NPC identification is 100% successful, but the fee is very expensive. The better the equipment, the higher the identification fee. The success rate of player identification varies depending on the level of identification skill. A player can only identify the same equipment once. If three players fail to identify it, the equipment disappears).
Hehehe… That’s why I emphasize the first-mover advantage so much! As expected, I was right. The game will give special rewards to the players who complete certain plots first! Fortunately, Mr. Li gave me this account. If I had to wait three days to enter the game, I would still get a special account with points. However, low-level bosses like King Slime have been killed a hundred times by veterans. How could it be my turn to get the reward?
When I opened my backpack, I found five more pieces of equipment inside. They looked very familiar. Yes, I recognized this set of equipment. It was called the "Novice Set". It was the lowest level set in Zero Degree Fantasy. There was no level requirement for the equipment. It was definitely for novices. However, its properties were pretty good, even comparable to equipment around level 20! This set of equipment was originally a reward for a novice quest. This quest was open to everyone, regardless of level or quantity. It was not difficult, and a 0-level novice could complete it. However, this quest was rated as a super rubbish quest by the internal test players, because it took too much time to find all kinds of messy items needed to complete the quest. It took me 30 game hours to get the reward during the internal test! With 30 hours of leveling, even a novice can reach level 17 or 18. After level 20, you can change to better equipment. What's the point of this novice set? Therefore, the internal test players who had done this quest unanimously asked the GM to modify this quest. I don't know if it has been changed in the public beta, but given the attributes of my abnormal account, I am fully capable of defeating monsters above my level, so there is no need to waste time doing this set quest.
But now the system rewards me with a set of equipment after I defeat the boss, that’s another matter. With this set of equipment, I am like a tiger with wings!
I looked at the properties of the five pieces of equipment, and they were the same as in the beta test, with no changes:
Novice Sword:
Category: Weapons, White Equipment
Attributes: Physical attack power 10~30, Magic attack power 8~24
Weight: 10
Equipment requirements: None
(Compared to ordinary daggers, the attack power is a level higher, reaching the level of a level 15 white equipment bronze sword)
Novice Leather Armor:
Category: Protective gear, white equipment
Attributes: Physical defense 12~18, Magical defense 8~10
Weight: 18
Equipment requirements: None
Novice Helmet:
Category: Protective gear, white equipment
Attributes: Physical defense 4-6, Magical defense 2-3
Weight: 3
Equipment requirements: None
Novice leather boots:
Category: Protective gear, attribute equipment
Attributes: Agility +1, Movement Speed +15%
Weight: 2
Equipment requirements: None
Beginner Gloves:
Category: Protective gear, attribute equipment
Attributes: Defense 2~4, Attack Speed +10%
Weight: 2
Equipment requirements: None
Full set of equipment, additional +200 HP limit, +200 MP limit, defense +10%
Hehe, this is a good stuff. As it is a gift from the system, although the leather boots and gloves are attribute equipment, they have been identified and can be equipped directly. I immediately changed my dagger, cloth clothes, and cloth shoes and put on this novice suit.
Look at the place where King Slime died. There is a ring, a necklace, a crystal, a sword, three gold coins, and more than ten silver coins on the ground. Oh hahahaha, I sent it. In fact, what I need most now is not equipment but coins. There is very little money in the game, but there are places to spend money everywhere. It costs money to buy medicine, repair equipment, identify, and teleport... These are just basic needs. If you want to enjoy it, there are food, drink, and fun in Zero Degree Fantasy, but that is spending money like water! For most players, if you want to really enjoy the fun of Zero Degree Fantasy, you must use real money to exchange game coins to support expenses. The New Era Group makes more money in this regard than the monthly fee charged for operating the game. Of course, as a professional player, I also see huge business opportunities from it. I am still confident that I can make a fortune through this game. But now the game has just been opened, and everything is still in the basic stage. Even if I have great skills, I can't make money immediately? Therefore, I even considered using my remaining real savings to exchange for a small amount of game coins to support my leveling expenses when I opened an in-game bank account after I changed my job to level 10. However, the money that King Slime dropped solved my urgent need before level 10!
After clearing out all the spoils, I returned to the village in a happy mood, humming "Returning from Target Shooting" (the Zero Degree Fantasy version of "Returning from Hunting"). At this time, there were only a few newcomers in the village. It seemed that most of the novice players had already figured out the game rules and went out to level up. When the players in the village saw the novice suit I was wearing emitting a faint glow, they all showed surprised and envious looks. A few stupid rookies even came up to me and called me big brother, asking me to guide them. I was surprised and asked back: "You didn't read the official guide before playing the game? You can't form a team before level 10?" The answer was: "I don't know, we don't play games very often. I heard that Zero Degree Fantasy is very fun, so I got an account from the black market at a high price. Isn't it faster to level up in online games with experts?" I was speechless. Such a rookie can get an account, but I, such an excellent player, almost lost the opportunity to enter the game in the first batch. What kind of society is this?
I ignored them and went to the grocery store to buy 10 identification scrolls. Among the three pieces of equipment dropped by the Slime King, only the ring was white equipment, with physical attack of 3-6, but the equipment requirement was 8. The necklace and sword were both attribute equipment. I used the scroll to identify them. They were Flame Necklace: Magic Attack 2-8, Additional Fire Damage 15, Fire Magic Damage +10%, Equipment Requirement Level 10, Weight 1. Good stuff for mages. Although I can't use it, I should be able to exchange it for a lot of potion money when a player who trains mages reaches level 10. Besides, I have other uses for it, so I don't need to sell it. Cold Iron Dagger: Physical Attack 7-22, Additional Ice Damage 12, Attack Speed +10%, Equipment Requirement Level 9, Weight 10. Hehe, it's better than the novice dagger in general. It's a top-grade weapon for warriors below level 15, but I need the extra 200HP and 10% defense bonus brought by a set of novice equipment. Because the personal warehouse is not open to novices below level 10, I threw the remaining 8 scrolls into my backpack. The scrolls cost me 10 silver coins, which was heartbreaking... But I had to bear the pain and spend another 5 silver coins to buy a return scroll. There was no other way. Time is more important than money to expand the level advantage!
Then I went to the pharmacy. The crystals dropped by the Slime King were the raw materials for synthesizing medicines. However, no player had changed his job to become a pharmacist, so I had to sell them to the pharmacy NPC at a low price. Unexpectedly, the NPC gave me 50 silver coins. It seems that this thing is the raw material for synthesizing advanced medicines, right? As expected, it was produced by the Boss, so it must be a top-quality product... Then I used the remaining money to buy unlimited bundles of medium-quality life water (one bundle = 10 bottles, one bottle of medium-quality water + 300HP, and the price was 2 silver coins). I bought a total of 17 bundles and 3 bottles, filling my backpack (the backpack stores items according to the number of grids, and one grid can hold one item. Bundles of potions or scrolls only take up one grid of space. The initial number of grids in the backpack is 20, and it expands by 2 grids for each level up. Now I have 32 spaces at level 6. After putting in 9 scrolls and three pieces of equipment, there were exactly 20 grids left, so I put in 17 bundles and another 3 bottles of potions. The cloth clothes, cloth shoes and dagger that the system initially gave me were thrown away long ago. Even the store NPC wouldn't buy that thing. In addition, the meaning of load is that the total weight of the items equipped on the body and the items carried in the backpack must not exceed the maximum load value), and I only had a pitiful 367 copper coins left. My character attributes are now HP649, physical attack 224~244, physical defense 92~103, magic defense 31~42, load 263/339, and movement speed (22.7-3.9) km/h (-3.9 means the movement speed is deducted due to the load). The attack is frighteningly high. With the extra 200 HP brought by the novice set, I can be called a blood cow among novices below level 10. In addition, with sufficient ammunition, I can definitely challenge monsters above level 15 and get more than 50% more experience. And I have also calculated the ideal leveling target in my mind: the large group of goblins in the goblin cave. Goblins are level 18 monsters. As a humanoid race, they have high intelligence and can use some weapons and protective gear to equip themselves. Therefore, although they have less blood, their attack and defense are relatively high. Even players who have changed their jobs at level 10 are often dangerous to level up here, and usually go there in a team. However, the equipment and money explosion rate of goblins are relatively high, making it a paradise for low-level players to get equipment. Although I can wear my novice suit until level 15 without changing it, more money is definitely better, and it is also very useful to obtain some small-level equipment of level 10 to 20.
After making preparations, I ran out of the village and headed non-stop towards the goblin cave in the south of the village. I did not stop when I encountered countless low-level monsters such as hares, gophers, bumblebees, etc. Along the way, I did not stop. Any blind creatures that attacked me were easily solved by me with just two swords. I ran for more than 20 minutes before I reached the entrance of the goblin cave.
As soon as I entered the goblin cave, the light dimmed. In this dark cave, only the torches on the walls on both sides of the passage emitted flickering lights. The sight range was only about ten meters around me, and I couldn't see the situation deep in the cave. But it didn't matter, because no players had ever come here. The goblins spawned by the system filled the cave. There were 7 or 8 goblins within my sight.
Seeing an outsider breaking into their territory, a group of green dwarves suddenly rushed up and surrounded me. No way? Although I have high points and good equipment, the goblins are monsters 13 levels higher than me after all, and their attack power is higher than that of the slime king. Each attack will cause me about 25 points of damage. With 8 goblins attacking in one round, my blood dropped by one third in an instant. Moreover, although the degree of realism of pain after being attacked in Zero Degree Fantasy is only 10%, the loss of 25 points of life is only a flesh wound compared to my total HP of more than 600. My body will only feel sore and numb, but the feeling of being attacked all over the body at the same time is also very unpleasant. I quickly drank a bottle of life water while swinging my sword to fight back. The current goblin was hit by me, and the system prompted that the attack was successful and the goblin's life was -189. For monsters below level 10, the system will automatically tell you the total HP of the monster. For monsters above level 10, you must use the identification skill to know the various attributes of the monster. However, as a beta tester, I knew that the HP of a goblin was 500, the attack was 100-110, and the defense was 50. It seemed that I needed three slashes to kill a goblin. Alas, I was too careless. By the time I killed a goblin, I was almost dead, because the life water did not replenish blood instantly. The medium amount of water was +50HP/s, and the speed of recovery could not keep up with the speed of blood loss! But I still had a chance. If I couldn't seize this opportunity, I would have to use the city return scroll!
I resisted the goblins' beating and killed the injured goblin with two slashes. As the goblin fell to the ground and died, a small gap appeared in the encirclement in front of me. The opportunity was right in front of me! I immediately rushed out of the gap, not caring about the three more slashes on my back by the goblins. I rushed to the side of a cave wall in two steps and stood close to a slightly concave gap on the cave wall. What a close call! I only had more than 120 HP left. If I had hesitated just now, I would have died! But now the situation is much better. I stood against the wall and had no worries. Only 4 goblins could attack me from the front, which means that I could lose about 100 HP at most per round. The goblins attacked about once every two seconds, so I had time to drink medicine to replenish my health. I swallowed two bottles of life water in a row, calmed down, and began to swing my sword and slash the goblins.
My attack speed was slightly faster than the goblins. I used five swords and the goblins could only attack me four times. With the occasional critical hit, I had wiped out all 11 goblins after I drank the fifth bottle of life water. In the middle, I had to throw out several identification scrolls because there was not enough space in my backpack to unpack the bundle of life water. The goblins farther away seemed not to be alarmed by me, so I had time to catch my breath.
I suddenly realized that I have upgraded. The basic experience of goblins is 220, and the level is 18. I am level 6, so I can get 60% of the experience bonus, that is, 352 experience points. When I entered the goblin cave, my experience was level 6 1156/2500. I only need to kill 4 goblins to upgrade. After upgrading, my attributes are HP676, physical attack 239-259, load 370, physical defense 102-113, MP387, magic defense 34-45. No wonder the goblins' attacks on me later only deducted less than 20 HP, which made me feel much more relaxed. Now my experience is level 7 2451/3500. I get 341 experience points for each goblin I kill. If I kill 4 more, I will upgrade again. The experience of fighting monsters above my level increases quickly!
After a short break, I cleaned up the battlefield. The goblin's explosion rate was really good. Only 11 monsters exploded more than 500 copper coins and a level 13 white equipment warrior breastplate. I pulled myself together and killed deep into the cave. As long as I walked along the wall, I was not afraid of being surrounded by goblins. It was easy and fun to kill. Soon I reached level 9. At this time, the goblin's ordinary attack couldn't even break my defense. It only forced me to deduct 1 point of blood. My own life recovery was enough to make up for my HP. I didn't even need to drink medicine! I let go of my hands and feet and chopped and killed a lot. Woo woo woo, I didn't expect to upgrade so quickly. I bought too much life water, but now it has become a burden and takes up space in my backpack. Fortunately, I have 4 more spaces after upgrading two levels, otherwise the backpack can't fit another piece of equipment that exploded!
When I reached level 10, I had already reached the entrance to the second floor of the Goblin Cave. I did not choose to return to the city to change my job, but continued to kill. A new monster appeared on the second floor of the cave, a level 20 Goblin Mage. The Goblin Mage can use magic fireballs and is a long-range attack monster. My spiritual sense is only 1 point, so my magic defense is very low, less than half of my physical defense. Even with the novice set, it is only 45-56. Being hit by a fireball will lose about 40 HP. Fortunately, there are not many Goblin Mages, so they cannot threaten my life, but they are very annoying. Of course, I didn't come here on purpose to consume too much life water. My goal is the deepest cave hall on the second floor. I know that there will be a Boss Goblin Chieftain there. Since I have entered the treasure mountain, how can I return empty-handed? I will definitely kill this Boss.
I killed my way through, and when I was in high spirits, I chanted in a long voice: "I was too addicted to the game and accidentally went deep into the cave. Horror! Horror! I killed countless goblins!"
In high spirits, my eyes suddenly lit up. I had entered the cave hall. The hall was full of braziers on brackets, and the terrain was spacious, much more spacious than the tunnel! A goblin chief, who was slightly taller than ordinary goblins and wearing an impressive bird feather costume on his head, was standing in the middle of the hall! He was surrounded by goblin mages and ordinary goblins.
I rushed into the hall, startled the goblins inside, and immediately turned around and ran, retreating into the tunnel. Haha, it's not that I'm afraid of the chief. I paid attention to my experience before entering the hall. I only need 5 goblins to level up. I can lure a few goblins to kill them. After reaching level 11, it will be easier to chop the chief. Sure enough, after running for a distance, I turned back and saw a few goblins that I had led into the tunnel standing there looking around! Of course, I didn't hesitate. After a fierce chopping, a pleasant bell sounded, and the system reminded me that I had leveled up!
Without the slightest hesitation, I charged straight into the hall, because I had led the large group of goblins to this direction just now. As soon as I entered the hall, I was surrounded by goblins, and there were three layers inside and three layers outside. The situation was similar to when I first entered the goblin cave. No, there were five or six more mages mixed in with the ordinary goblins shooting fireballs at me! Unfortunately, I am no longer the same as before. The goblins who hit me close to me either lost 1 life or missed. On the contrary, my attack has reached an amazing value of 314~334 (according to the original formula, it should be 330~350, but the formulas for each bonus have changed after level 10. The bonus is reduced by half for each level up, and if you change your job, you will also add a job correction). I can kill a goblin with two swords. If I hit the goblin's vital neck or hit it with a critical hit, it will even have a one-hit kill effect. As for the fireballs shot by the wizard at me, each one can deduct 30 to 40 points of my HP. I am hit by 4 fireballs on average in each round of attack. The speed of HP loss is still within the range of life water replenishment. Anyway, I have a lot of potions. Once I kill all the ordinary goblins around me, let's see where these wizards can run to.
After killing for nearly 10 minutes and using up 6 bundles of life water, I finally cleared out all the ordinary goblins and caught up with the goblin mages. I raised my sword and slashed down. The goblin mages, whose health and defense were lower than ordinary goblins, screamed one after another, which became experience points contributed to me.
When I first rushed into the hall to lure the monsters, I carefully calculated the distance and did not alarm the goblin chieftain in the middle of the hall. During the battle, I stayed at my post and did not move forward at all, so the chieftain in the distance did not notice the fierce battle here. However, now I was chasing the goblin mage who was attacking from a distance, and finally attracted the chieftain's attention. While I was killing the mage, the goblin chieftain led the six goblin mages guarding him and rushed towards me.
The Goblin Chieftain is as good at magic attacks as the Goblin Mage. Its specialty is "Burn" (sends out flames that attach to the target's body and burn, and the attacked target's health is constantly reduced before the spell effect disappears. With my current magic defense, if I am hit by Burn, my HP will be reduced by 20-25 per second). It is quite a headache. The upgraded skill of the small fireball, Explosive Bomb, is really painful when it hits my body. It will reduce my HP by 60-80 points at once. Add to that the small fireball attacks of six Goblin Mages, and my life is completely unable to replenish.
However, my total HP is as high as 807 points, which can still hold out for a while. As long as I can kill a few mages in this moment, reduce the number of goblins' attacks, and balance the loss and replenishment of life, then victory will be in my pocket!
With two bottles of life water on my head, I rushed towards the goblin. Damn, warriors are at a disadvantage against monsters with long-range magic attacks. Before I could rush to close combat distance, I was hit by four fireballs, and flames were burning on my body. My HP dropped rapidly.
However, when the goblins launched the second round of attack, I had already rushed in front of them, and the situation immediately reversed. With one sword strike, the health of a goblin mage was reduced to zero. Moreover, because I was close to the monsters, their bodies became my cover, leaving them with a very small attack angle. The hit rate of the goblin mage's fireballs also dropped a lot, and half of them missed.
When my life dropped to half, I pulled out the dagger from the neck of the third goblin wizard and drank a bottle of life water at the same time. Now I was sure that victory would belong to me.
Soon there was only a lonely goblin chieftain left in front of me, and at this time I only had more than 200 HP left, and the speed of replenishing life water had exceeded the speed of losing blood, which meant that the red line of life was rising little by little.
The Goblin Chieftain is very smart. He always uses a Burning spell when the flames on my body are extinguished, which makes me lose blood continuously. The hit rate of the explosive bomb is also significantly higher than that of the Goblin Mage's fireball. However, I can't do anything alone. I can use medicine to replenish blood. Every time the Goblin Chieftain takes a blow from me, his life will actually decrease by one point (some high-level monsters are very abnormal and can eat blood-replenishing medicine or use healing spells on themselves during the battle)!
Although the Chieftain's 100 defense is much higher than that of ordinary goblins, his HP still decreased rapidly under my 300 attack. My attack is really scary, almost three times that of a warrior of the same level! If I were to use the warrior I trained during the internal test, I could only barely break the Chieftain's defense at this level. During the internal test, the Goblin Chieftain was fought by a mixed team of warriors, magicians, and archers above level 13, and skilled tactical coordination was required to succeed. A duel like this requires a warrior of at least level 17 and good equipment.
Finally, after a frantic hack and slash, the Goblin Chieftain let out a scream and fell down. The system prompted: You killed the Boss Goblin Chieftain, gained 1700 experience points (1000×170%), and gained 20 reputation points.
Hmm? No extra reputation bonus? In theory, the first 10 players who kill the boss will receive 1000 to 100 reputation points in order of priority? It seems that other players in the Novice Village have already had the ability to challenge the Slime King. So I am not the only one with strong attributes and high levels! But think about it, there must be more than one account with extra points bonus, for example, Awei's account will 100% also have extra points. Hehe, but 00000000001 is special among specials, and other people's rewards can't be as abnormal as mine.
The Goblin Chieftain dropped 4 pieces of equipment, 17 gold coins, and a bunch of silver coins. As expected of a level 25 boss, he was much more generous than the level 10 Slime King. The large group of ordinary goblins and goblin mages I just killed also dropped copper coins and several pieces of equipment, which I didn't have time to pick up. After a sweep, including the killing all the way in front, I collected nearly 19 gold coins, 7 white equipment, and 4 attribute equipment. The goblins dropped all the level 10-15 equipment (the equipment dropped by monsters is always lower than its own level, so if you want to get equipment that matches your level, you must fight monsters at a higher level). I used scrolls to identify all the attribute equipment. Only the level 18 black wood staff dropped by the chieftain, which has magic attack 12-35, fire magic damage +10%, additional fire damage 25, and MP consumption -10%, is pretty good. Another thing that looks like a feather was identified and I realized it was not equipment, but a material for synthesizing equipment. The others are pretty rubbish, but I'm already very satisfied. If I wasn't lucky, I wouldn't be able to get these things. The explosion rate of Zero Fantasy equipment is too low.
After checking my backpack, I still have 10 and a half bundles of potions and 7 spaces in my backpack. Should I continue to go down to the third floor of the cave or return to the city to change my job? After thinking about it, I decided not to return to the city for the time being. I know that one of the four places in the continent where the super boss Goblin King is refreshed is in this cave. Since the server is newly opened and no one else has been here, the Goblin King must exist, and the super boss must drop good things! After returning to the Novice Village with the return scroll, you have to teleport to Ziwei City to take up the job. After taking up the job, you can't teleport back to the Novice Village. The distance from Ziwei City to this cave is too far. Although there will be super bosses at the leveling points near Ziwei City, the level of the monsters there is too high. I dare not challenge them now.
Goblin King, here I come!
