Volume 1 Chapter 7 Official Inauguration

Zero Fantasy Setting Five:
Zero Degree Fantasy career and skill settings:
There are many professions in Zero Degree Fantasy, which can be divided into combat professions (such as warriors, mages, Taoist priests, knights, archers, thieves, etc.) and technical professions (such as pharmacists, blacksmiths, architects, etc.). Combat professions gain experience points and upgrade by killing monsters; technical professions can certainly kill monsters, but if no one leads you to form a team for training, the efficiency of training alone is terrible. This type of profession mainly gains experience points through skill training.
After taking up a job, the attribute bonus after upgrading will be added to the occupational modification. For example, if there are two characters, their physique and wisdom are both 5 points, one is a mage and the other is a warrior, then after the same upgrade, the warrior's health and defense will increase more, and the MP will increase very little; while the mage's MP will increase more, and the increase in health and defense will be much less than that of the warrior.
Occupations are divided into several levels. For example, the levels of knights are: Level 10 - Knight Apprentice; Level 20 - Apprentice Knight; Level 40 - Glorious Knight; Level 60 - Golden Knight; Level 80 - Radiant Knight; Level 100 - Holy Knight. In addition to reaching the corresponding level, you also need to complete the tasks entrusted by the system to advance. The cultivation of professional skills must reach the corresponding character level and professional level. For example, the knight's skill "Iron Wall" requires level 42 and a professional level of Glorious Knight. If your character level is over 42, but you have not yet been promoted to a Glorious Knight, you cannot learn "Iron Wall".
Skills in Zero Degree Fantasy are divided into professional skills and life skills. In fact, life skills in Zero Degree Fantasy are not very useful, mainly because there are too few monsters in the game that drop money, and players with low levels and bad equipment are mostly unable to make ends meet, so they can earn some money through life skills to ensure the progress of the game. Life skills (gathering, felling, mining, fishing, etc.) can be learned by newcomers as soon as they are born, without any conditions or restrictions. The lowest level of professional skills can only be learned after the official job transfer of more than level 10. A character can only work in one profession at present, and it is said that the second job transfer will be opened after the game upgrade. Each profession can only learn skills specific to this profession. Of course, the effects of some professional skills are very similar, such as the "heavy attack" of the warrior and the "thrust" of the knight, but in any case, the knight can only learn "thrust" and there is no possibility of learning "heavy attack".
The skills of each profession in Zero Degree Fantasy are also divided into levels, and each skill has a maximum of 10 levels. The higher the skill level, the better the effect of using the skill. There are two ways to improve the skill level. One is to continue to use the skill to improve proficiency, and the other is to obtain certain skill points according to the wisdom points in the basic attributes as the character level increases. These skill points can be freely allocated to the skills you want to improve. In fact, it is very difficult to practice skills, but once they are upgraded to a high level, the effect is also extraordinary.
After leaving the teleportation point of Ziwei City, I went straight to the knight training hall where the knights were employed. Haha, compared to the Zixia Taoist Temple where Taoist priests were employed or the Yinyang Academy where sorcerers were employed, the knight training hall was too shabby. There was only a low hut and a shabby training ground. If I wasn't a beta player, it would be difficult to find it. There was no way. The birthplace of the knight profession was in the Western Continent. The big cities there had magnificent knight guilds, while in the Eastern Continent there were only some small training halls established by wandering knights from the Western Continent. Moreover, this kind of training hall could only grant the level of Glorious Knight at most. When I was at a higher level and wanted to be promoted to Golden Knight, I had to go to the Western Continent to be promoted. On the contrary, although players in the Western Continent could also learn Eastern professions such as sorcerers from the immortals who traveled around the world, they had to come to the Eastern Continent if they wanted to be promoted to advanced professions. This could be regarded as strengthening international exchanges and cooperation, haha.
Find the NPC you are working for and have a conversation with him...
"Blood Sky, you meet the requirements to become a knight. As long as you can kill a gray wolf to prove your courage, I will grant you the title of knight's apprentice."
Gray wolves are a type of level 20 monster that is widely distributed in various continents. It is still quite difficult for an ordinary level 10 player to kill a gray wolf alone, but for me who is capable of killing the Goblin King, it is just a piece of cake. Without saying anything, I immediately went to the department store to buy a return scroll, and even didn't bother to buy potions, and ran directly out of the city towards the mountainous area.
It took me 20 minutes to find the gray wolves. Wolves live in groups, and I encountered five of them at once. Other players would have had to run for their lives. This is the annoying thing about this mission. Although ordinary level 10 players are capable of fighting gray wolves alone, they rarely encounter lone wolves, and often have to spend a long time looking for stray wolves. I am not afraid. Gray wolves are only a little stronger than goblins. They only took off more than 10 points of my blood in one bite (I was wearing a novice suit with high defense). I easily dealt with these guys and obtained the item "Proof of Courage" - a gray wolf skin. I used the return scroll, alas, 10 silver coins (after leaving the novice village, the system store prices doubled) were gone again, just to save a little time!
Back in the city, the streets are still empty, with only a few NPCs walking around. Hmm? The game has been open for five hours, and no other players have reached level 10? I remember that it usually took four hours to complete during the closed beta? I don't care, I run to the training hall and give the gray wolf skin to the NPC, OK!
"Blood Sky, you have proven your courage. I officially grant you the title of Knight's Apprentice. I look forward to your continued efforts!"
A burst of white light flashed on his body, and the system prompted: Player Blood Sky, you have officially taken office as a knight apprentice. You have learned the knight skill "Thrust". Your attributes are corrected to HP +20%, physical defense +10%, physical attack +10%, hit rate -10%, movement speed -20%, load +10%, MP -20%, magic attack -30%, magic defense -20%.
Hehe, I finally changed my job. My physical attack, defense and HP increased a lot, but -10% hit rate and -20% magic defense are not good. But who told me I was a knight? The difference between the jobs began to be reflected in the attributes.
Well, there are still many things to do after taking office, such as opening a bank account and setting up a personal warehouse... But before I turned around, the NPC spoke again: "Blood Sky, since you are the first player to be officially employed in this game, it means that you have outstanding abilities. Now I want to test you, are you willing to accept the challenge?"
Ah? I am the first player to change my job? I felt incredible. According to the experience of the internal test, veterans can usually reach level 10 in four hours. Even if the job change task is more complicated, it can be completed in less than half an hour if you are lucky. I was puzzled when I didn't see anyone in the city just now. I thought that there were too few people at level 10 and I missed it. I didn't expect that I was really the first player to change my job! After thinking about it carefully, I suddenly understood that during the internal test, each new player was given 10 gold coins by the system, which was enough money to buy medicine and level up in the early stage. However, there is no such preferential treatment in the public beta. The money from low-level monsters is very small. How to earn money to buy potions for new players has become a headache. Either you have to make a small amount of money by relying on life skills; or you have to rely on automatic life recovery to increase your health. In this way, you have to rest for half a day to fight one or two monsters. Both methods are very time-consuming. As for exchanging real money for game coins, that is a function that is only available after the job change. It is fair to everyone in the first 10 levels. Because of my super high attack, I started to fight monsters of higher levels. Often, I leveled up without losing much blood, and my life was automatically replenished. After I defeated the Slime Queen, I got the Novice Set and 3 gold coins. I went to kill goblins at level 6. You know, I could get more than 300 experience points by killing a goblin at that time. Ordinary players were probably still killing slimes at that time, and at most they could kill rabbits and other things, which could only get dozens of experience points. They were not as fast as me, so I was naturally far ahead. Therefore, although I spent a lot of time to kill the Goblin King and my level was raised to level 12, I was still able to become the first player to change jobs.
As for the NPC's test, of course I accepted it. Needless to say, this is another reward from the system for me to become the first player to change my job. If I can pass the test, there will definitely be benefits.
"I accept the challenge."
System prompt: Player Bloody Sky, congratulations on becoming the first player to change jobs in Zero Degree Fantasy. The system rewards you with 1000 reputation points and triggers the hidden task "The Test of the Strong".
In fact, I didn't know that the reward for being the first player to change jobs is not necessarily to trigger a hidden task. The probability is very low, and most of the time it is a gift of a dark gold equipment. It was because of the hidden 5 points of charm that worked for me!
"Since you accept the test, I will teleport you to a dangerous place, and you have to rely on your own strength to get out of there alive." After saying that, the NPC raised his hand and cast a magic scroll. A ray of light enveloped me. I only had time to shout: "Wait..." before he disappeared.
Damn, they just transferred me without giving me any time to prepare? You know, I was busy completing the job transfer task after I came out of the goblin cave. My backpack was full of equipment I got from fighting, and I didn’t even buy potions. The NPC clearly said that I was going to a dangerous place, how could I survive without potions? What’s more worrying is that the equipment on my body has not been repaired yet, and it will soon run out of durability. Once one piece is broken, the novice set will not be complete, and the extra 200 HP and 10% defense will be gone! If I had known there would be a task, I should have made preparations before the job transfer. Now most of the tasks are difficult to complete, and I will die again. If a character from level 10 to level 30 dies, he will lose 10% of the experience of this level, 5% of the items on his body will be dropped, and 10% of the items in his backpack will be dropped. The items dropped by the Goblin King have not been identified yet. If there are dark gold equipment among them, I will be heartbroken if they are exploded.
The light faded away, and I looked around. I was in front of an unfamiliar valley. At the entrance of the valley, there were four big characters on a big stone: "Trial Land". I had never heard of this place name in the internal test. It was probably a map for the mission. Judging from the words on the stone, it was probably asking me to enter the valley? I checked my backpack. Fortunately, I had 4 bottles of medium water left, 6 bottles of powerful life water dropped by the Goblin King and the Goblin Chief, 2 bottles of powerful magic water, and 2 bottles of super life water (recovering 900 HP points, recovery speed 150HP/s). Use them sparingly. I hope there are not too many monsters in the valley. And the NPC did not require a time to complete the task. I played slowly. At most, I would wait for the automatic blood recovery after killing a few monsters. I was afraid of encountering a Boss-level monster.
I walked slowly into the valley, and the first thing I saw was two giant rats. They were nothing special, a level 19 monster living in the grassland, not as good as a gray wolf. I killed them without spending any blood, but each one only gave me 1 experience point? What a rubbish task! If I had started leveling up immediately after changing my job, I would have reached level 13 by now...
Keep going forward, and three level 22 striped belly snakes will jump out of the bushes. This is nothing, belly snakes have high agility, but low attack and defense, but the poison damage is annoying. Use the skill "Thrust", which is a basic skill of the knight. When using it, the tip of the sword will bring a faint white light. The 0-level thrust can emit a power 20% higher than the normal attack. Each additional level increases the basic attack power by 20%. When you reach the highest level 10, using thrust can emit an attack power equal to 320% of the normal attack, which is more powerful than a critical hit. [The effect of a critical hit and a critical hit is a damage bonus. For example, if your attack power is 200 and the target's defense power is 100, then after you issue a critical hit, you will cause (200-100)×3=300 points of damage to the target. The thrust is an attack power bonus, and the damage calculation formula is 200×320%-100=540 〕Level 0 consumes 10 MP points, and each subsequent level consumes 2 more points (In Zero Degree Fantasy, magic water is 3 times more expensive than life water, so the mage is definitely a money-burning profession! But this does not mean that the warrior profession will save money. If you want to increase the leveling speed, you must constantly use skills, and the thrust with less than 10 MP points still consumes an astonishing amount of MP).
Because thrust is the knight's most commonly used skill, but it is not the skill with the strongest single-target attack power. I can slowly practice it during leveling, so I was reluctant to spend the precious skill points I had accumulated. However, the career modification after the job change brings 10% physical attack, plus the 20% from thrust, I can cut out 427 to 454 attacks, which can almost kill the belly viper in seconds!
Unfortunately, I was poisoned once again. Although the venom of the striped belly snake can be regarded as the weakest among the monsters with poisonous attacks in Zero Degree Fantasy, my level is low, and I have no anti-poison equipment. The worst thing is that I don’t have an antidote. My HP dropped from 25 to 25. It took a full 30 minutes for the poison to disappear. In order to prevent accidents, I had to use a bottle of medium water.
The monsters that appeared afterwards were all kinds of things, such as prairie falcons, vampire bats, desert lizards... None of them were high-level monsters, and the number of them that appeared was no more than three. I could handle them easily, except that I didn't drink any medicine except for the poison I got just now. The most difficult thing was encountering a ghost, the lowest level monster of the undead system. This thing has no entity, and its physical attack is -90%! Although the ghost can't cause any damage to me, it's too tiring to chop it up. This thing should be dealt with by the priest! Wait, priest? I suddenly realized that it was no wonder that I always felt something was wrong. The monsters I encountered along the way were basically the monsters that each combat profession required to challenge when changing jobs! So this task is related to the profession? But I have clearly become a knight apprentice ...
No matter what, keep moving forward, the valley exit is right in front of you. Well, there is a person sitting on a round stone in the middle of the exit, probably an NPC, go talk to him.
When I got closer, before I could say anything, the NPC stood up with a whoosh, and upon closer inspection, he turned out to be a warrior in iron armor.
"Challenger, you are finally here! Come on, as long as you defeat me, you will become the strongest on the continent!"
Wow, so we are going to fight him? And he is so arrogant. Whoever defeats him will become the strongest person on the continent. Doesn't that mean he is the second strongest person on the continent? Although I have never seen this kind of armored warrior in the official data or the memory of the internal test, and I have no way of guessing his strength, but I think he is not as powerful as the holy beast or the dragon king, otherwise this task would be impossible to complete.
Anyway, let's fight first. I rushed forward with my sword, and stabbed without hesitation. The dagger pierced the armor, making a "ding-dong" sound. The armor was torn open, and blood spurted out from the crack. The system prompts: The attack on the Sealed Guardian is successful, and the Sealed Guardian's health is -233.
Haha, this guy is called the Seal Guardian? He looks very powerful, but it turns out that he is on the same level as the Goblin King.
The guardian raised the two-handed sword in his hand and slashed it down at my head. Although I knew that this guy was not very powerful, I was also afraid when I saw such a big sword coming at my head... My body naturally shrank back and I managed to dodge it. I immediately counterattacked and stabbed again, making another hole in his armor.
The guardian roared and swung his greatsword. I was not very agile, so I could only dodge a small part of the attacks. However, it didn't hurt much when the sword hit my body. I only lost about 100 points of blood. It was not as effective as the Goblin King's small axe.
...I felt relieved and it seemed that it would not be difficult to defeat him.
Thrust, thrust, thrust again! Eh? I can't thrust anymore? It turns out I'm out of MP. Luckily I have two bottles of powerful magic water in my bag. I drink one and continue thrusting.
When my MP reached the bottom again, the Seal Guardian finally fell. I calculated that his health was about 20,000. In fact, I won by a narrow margin. I only had one super bottle of life water left, and my novice leather armor shattered under the multiple blows of the greatsword. It was a pity for my novice set... What frustrates me is that this guy didn't drop anything, and only gave me 1 experience point!
The guardian was lying on the ground, but he was still alive. He was still whining: "Young man, since you have defeated me, it proves that you have enough strength to inherit the skills of the ancient warriors and become a peerless strong man. Go and choose your path!" After that, his body gradually became transparent, and finally turned into light and dissipated. System prompt: Player Blood Sky, congratulations on completing the hidden task "Test of the Strong". The system rewards you with 1,000 reputation points, and you can choose a combat profession as your second profession!
What? The task is already completed? Too easy, isn't it? And the reward for the task... is that you can choose a second profession! You should know that Zero Degree Fantasy has not yet opened the second job system. Even if it is opened, it will not be available until at least level 100. I can get a second job now, which means that I can learn twice as many skills as other players! You should know that the different skills of each profession have their own uses, and they often complement each other. Think about it, isn't a knight who can use healing to heal himself very abnormal? Although it may not improve my offensive and defensive capabilities, as the saying goes, more skills are better than less, that means I can adopt much richer tactical changes in future battles, whether PK or fighting monsters, I will have a great advantage! This is as helpful to me as obtaining a magic weapon!
After the excitement, I calmed down and thought carefully. In fact, this task is quite abnormal. Only the character created by my abnormal account can complete it. If other players want to get the first job change, they will definitely not have time to practice to level 12. And is it possible for an ordinary level 10 player to fight a monster of the level of the Goblin King? Even if I bring enough medicine, the attack is too low after all. It’s good to knock off 30-50% of the blood of the seal guardian with one blow. How long will it take? The possibility of dying is more than 90%! Moreover, there are many benefits to getting a second job, but it also brings troubles. It means that I have to spend twice as much energy as others to practice skills!
But anyway, since this hidden quest was triggered by my first job change, it should be the only quest. Probably no one else can get a second job before the job change is open, unless there are other second job quests with other triggering conditions. I should be (at least temporarily) the only one in Zero Degree Fantasy!
With such a huge advantage, I have no doubt that I can make a fortune from this game, maybe even a huge sum, making me proud as a professional gamer!
Haha, I was a bit too excited. It took me a long time to remember that there was actually a final task that was not completed, and I had not yet chosen my second career!
Moreover, the system prompt sound has disappeared. It seems that I can’t complete the job change just by saying loudly “I want to become XXX profession”. What should I do?
I looked towards the exit of the valley. The so-called "trial ground" should refer to this valley where various monsters are hidden. Here you can test whether your ability has reached the requirements for any job transfer. The seal guardian is the final boss. Since the boss has been defeated, there should be a different world after walking out of the valley, right?
I took action immediately and ran out of the valley. This was a tiankeng-like terrain, surrounded by cliffs thousands of feet high. There were dozens of stone doors evenly distributed on the stone walls on all four sides of the courtyard. Each stone door was carved with an exquisite symbol: either a sword, a sledgehammer, or a lightning bolt...
I understand now. The exits of this mission map should be these stone doors. The symbols on the doors represent a profession. Which door I go out from indicates which profession I have chosen.
So what profession should I choose? As a knight, I have strong close combat ability. Obviously, choosing a warrior profession will cause overlapping professional characteristics and will not show any advantages. I don't like auxiliary professions such as thieves, priests, and Taoist priests... How about choosing a magician? Practicing both magic and martial arts, I can fight in close combat and attack from a distance, which must be very powerful!
But I suddenly thought of another problem. Magicians require strong spiritual power, otherwise the magic they cast can only be used to make fire and cook. This is obviously contrary to the powerful strength, high health and high defense that my knight pursues. After all, attribute points are rare. If they are distributed evenly, I am afraid that in the end, I will be proficient in everything but poor in everything, which will not be worth the loss...
I finally made a decision and walked towards a stone door marked with a bow and arrow.
There was a flash of light, and I was teleported back to the knight training ground.
System prompt: Player Blood Sky, you get a second job: Archer! Job Modifications: Movement Speed +30%, Hit +20%, MP +30%, Magic Attack +40%, Magic Defense +40%.
The career modifiers are so outrageous? All of them are greatly increased? I looked carefully and found that they were all the items that had a reduction when I was a knight. I understand that after obtaining a second career, the career modifiers are all considered good or bad. For example, the career modifier of a general archer has a movement speed of +10%, while the knight's modification is -20% movement. Now I have been given 30% at once, which is actually an additional 10% on the original basis, just like the archer. Similarly, HP, physical defense, physical attack and other items that the knight originally had a bonus have not changed, because these happen to be the archer's weaknesses, so they are calculated according to the knight's standards.
Haha, if you say my character attributes were abnormal in the past, now I am simply invincible! Just like that, a perfect knight archer was born on the Blue Continent!
