Volume 5: Protracted War Chapter 96: Bloody Battle at the Church (2)
At the same time, a silver light spear about two meters long and as thick as a cup shot out from the door on the other side, hitting the Horror Explosive Eagle Knight, but it was blocked by the only remaining blue-eyed golden eagle, which sacrificed itself to protect the Horror Explosive Eagle Knight from escaping. With this momentary delay, the Horror Explosive Eagle Knight had already flown close to the "Holy Light Barrier". Although he had endured several "Holy Light Bullets" in succession and was stabbed by the Phantom Knight who turned around, his body was already glowing with the phantom light before death, but it was not the usual white color, and the rapid flickering was more like blood light.
This is the real reason why we sent one person and three pets to launch this raid. On the surface, the Iron Feather Red Eagle Magic Knight is the main force, but in fact it is just a cover to attract the enemy's attention. The real killer is the ghost husband's pet, the Horror Explosion Eagle Knight. The reason why it is called the Explosion Eagle is that it has a unique ability - "self-destruction". Even if it is killed, it can still be used before it is disillusioned, and it can exert a killing effect twice as high as the strongest attack power. Moreover, it can be used at will even if it is in good condition. Although it cannot move once it is triggered, the body will flash red light several times. Enemies who know the details and react quickly can take the opportunity to evade it, but it is extremely effective against slow-moving or fixed targets. Of course, for the Horror Explosion Eagle Knight, this was originally a "die together" type ability that would rather die than live in disgrace in a critical moment, but once it is collected as a pet, it is very suitable for use in the human world. It cannot be summoned for up to six hours after death.
This was the first time that the ghost husband used the "self-destruction" ability of the Horror Exploding Eagle Knight in public. The Light NPC naturally had no information about this and did not know how to take precautions, which led to the sneak attack. A few red flashes passed by, and the body of the Horror Exploding Eagle Knight expanded rapidly as if it was inflated. "Boom", a huge explosion sounded, and it exploded into a ball of blood mist. The first to bear the brunt of the attack was naturally the "Holy Light Barrier" standing in front of it. It had just endured a round of attacks and had not had time to recover from the shock before it suffered the impact of the "self-destruction". The white-robed cardinal on the left, who was affected the most, was immediately knocked to the ground and could no longer maintain the "Holy Light Barrier". The side he was guarding suddenly had a flaw.
We were waiting for this opportunity. Long Xingtianxia and I activated the two great artifacts, "Poison Dragon Spear" and "Touch of Death", respectively. Hong Xing also used the "Life-Calling Flying Spear", quickly passing through the gap in the "Holy Light Barrier" and directly hitting the twelve-winged golden angel statue. With a muffled sound, the entire church seemed to tremble. The soft golden light emitted by the angel statue suddenly dimmed a little, and it was obviously damaged to a certain extent. However, the white light spot on the chest still existed and did not destroy the operation of the small teleportation array.
Although the expected result did not occur, it was also expected. After all, the twelve-winged golden angel statue is the core component of the Church of Light, and it will definitely not be damaged so easily. I tried to let the "Touch of Death" absorb the angel statue after the attack, hoping to further consume its energy, but was repelled by an irresistible force. I was slightly hurt, and felt that it was stronger than the green bone dragon. In addition to being surprised, I found that the silver-robed bishop had appeared and cast the "Holy Light Barrier" to cover the angel statue and strengthen the power of protection.
The Phantom Knight was quite alert. He noticed the abnormality and urged the Silver Pegasus to retreat in time. He was not affected by the "self-detonation" of the Terrifying Explosive Eagle Knight. Although he had already appeared, he did not rely on his strong strength to take the initiative to attack and join in the siege of us. Instead, he retreated to the front of the angel statue and coordinated with his subordinates to be on high alert. He actually put up a defensive posture. In addition, the Silver Robe Bishop cast the "Holy Light Barrier" to protect the angel statue. It was obvious that he wanted to implement a delaying tactic and fight a protracted war with us, waiting for the arrival of reinforcements before trying to wipe us out in one fell swoop.
Judging from the situation, if we don't break through the blockade of the Phantom Knight and the Silver Robe Bishop, it will be difficult to hurt the Angel Statue. Even if we attack and break through the defenses, even if we hit it, it won't be a big threat to the Angel Statue, it will just be a waste of our strength. If we can't take shortcuts, we can only break through by force and fight a tough battle with the opponent by strength.
Long Xing Tianxia issued an order to change tactics and stop advancing. He gathered the four most elite combat teams, tried his best to eliminate the enemies around, blocked the side door leading into the hall, compressed their space for activities, ensured that the two wings were not harassed, and then started to advance. Relying on the advantage that our strength was higher than that of the sixth-level NPC, we were able to kill a large number of enemies while preserving ourselves, and steadily advanced forward, heading straight for the angel statue in the deepest part.
I activated the "Touch of Death" and sucked out the spiritual power of an archbishop. The unlucky guy who collapsed on the ground first endured the "Hell Fire Rain" from Hader. Taotao dived and sprayed him with a "Fire Roar". Then Hader added a "Hell Fire Bullet" to send him to the west. I once again used the "Summoning of the Dead" to summon Xiaobai and three corpse wizards. According to Long Xingtian's plan, the next step is to deal with the phantom knight in the air. Wu Ma is still useless. Facing an overly powerful opponent, Xiaobai's attack method will be safer than the flying fire ghost.
Mixed in the group, I did not directly participate in the attack. I applied a "special effect medicine" to myself and continued to activate "Touch of Death" to absorb the Archbishop's spiritual power. Gradually advancing to a certain distance, with another round of volleys from long-range attack professions, He Zhizhou, Taotao and other players or pets who can fight in the air rushed directly to the "holy light barrier" of the guardian angel statue. It seemed that they were using the same old trick again and were still planning to attack the angel statue.
The Phantom Knight would not sit still and watch, and urged the Silver Pegasus to rush over to intercept. He Zhizhou and Taotao and the others just feinted and turned to face the Phantom Knight. At the same time, Xiaobai also showed up and launched the "Banshee's Howl", which affected the entire field, but was mainly aimed at the Phantom Knight. Caught off guard, the Phantom Knight paused and slowed down. Long Xingtianxia's "Poison|Dragon Spear" and Hongxing's "Life-Calling Flying Spear" attacked at the right time and both hit, and then he was entangled by He Zhizhou and Taotao again.
After a melee, the Phantom Knight showed great combat power. After his mount, the Silver Pegasus, transformed into a pair of light wings, its strength was surprisingly above that of a level seven pterosaur. Except for He Zhizhou and Taotao who were attacked by dozens of "Holy Light Bullets" and had to retreat, the other attackers were all killed in the battle. However, the Phantom Knight himself was also in a rather embarrassing state. He had been affected by Xiaobai's "Banshee's Howl" and was besieged by everyone. In order to kill an Iron Feather Red Eagle Knight, he had to endure a powerful attack from Long Xingtianxia's "Poison|Dragon Spear". He was obviously seriously injured and his condition should be much worse than before.
