Part 2
It seemed that he was a rich second-generation, perhaps still a student, and the three of them had made an appointment to go out and have fun during the summer vacation.
When he saw a beautiful woman, he bribed Li Yong with cigarettes, hoping to get close to her.
Li Yong still coldly refused him.
The young man's face, which was full of smiles, suddenly turned ferocious.
Li Yong was too lazy to pay attention to him and turned back.
The girl looked at Li Yong with a smile.
Li Yong was a little annoyed.
"What are you laughing at?" Li Yong said.
The girl was still very friendly.
"Nothing." She said.
Li Yong's face darkened and he was silent for a while.
"The young man wanted to sit next to you and exchanged a cigarette for my seat." Li Yong said to the girl.
The girl pretended to be stupid and stared at him with her eyes wide open.
"Really? A cigarette? Then why don't you exchange with him?" The girl asked Li Yong with a smile.
Li Yong was speechless.
The girl touched Li Yong's arm again.
"You're regretting it now, but it's probably not too late. Go change it. There's a cigarette here," the girl said.
Li Yong's face darkened even further. He pulled out his phone and ignored the girl.
The bus finally started moving.
In less than half an hour, they were deep in the mountains.
The winding road seemed to go on forever.
Gradually, Li Yong began to feel drowsy.
Suddenly, he heard a rumbling sound, and he quickly opened his eyes.
He saw a shocking scene.
A huge rock fell from the sky, hitting the bus right in front of it.
The driver slammed on the brakes, but the bus missed the rock by a mere meter.
The driver's face turned pale with fear, not to mention everyone else.
It took a while for everyone to start moving.
"What's going on?" someone asked the driver.
The driver shook his head blankly.
After waiting a while to see if there was any more movement, the braver ones got out to check.
Of course, that included Li Yong.
The rock was so huge that it almost took up the entire road.
It was truly a giant boulder.
"What's going on? A landslide?"
the driver shook his head.
"I don't know what's going on. I've been driving this road for over a decade and I've never seen anything like it," he said.
It was quite strange.
Just this huge rock fell, nothing else, not even a small piece of gravel.
"So what do we do?" a passenger asked.
The car definitely couldn't get through; the rock was too big, there was no room to squeeze through.
"There's nothing we can do. We'll just have to wait until the road repairers come," the driver said.
"How long will that wait be?"
"It's hard to say," the driver said.
Someone started making phone calls and sending photos to the road engineers.
The news came that it would take at least three days to repair the road.
"Oh my God, we have to wait here for three days?"
the driver shook his head again.
"No, there's only one way: turn back," he said.
Everyone started talking at once.
The driver raised his voice.
"What are you complaining about? You were almost crushed by the rock. If you had been crushed by that rock, few would have made it out alive," the driver said.
It was true.
If a rock that big had hit a car, it would have been completely smashed to pieces.
There was no need to complain, but to be thankful.
Everyone fell silent.
"Hurry up and get in the car and turn back," the driver said.
After boarding, Li Yong noticed someone else was sitting in his seat.
It was the young man. He was chatting animatedly with the beautiful woman.
Clearly, Li Yong had interrupted their conversation.
The young man awkwardly stood up and offered his seat to Li Yong.
The driver announced his decision to everyone on the bus.
Someone objected.
It was an old, skinny man in the back.
He wanted to get off the bus and walk across the mountains.
"It's over a hundred kilometers," the driver said.
The old man seemed to be a local and familiar with the area.
"Not that far. If you take the smaller roads, it's probably over a hundred miles. I know the way," he said.
The girl next to Li Yong was a little excited.
"Over a hundred miles, that's not that far. How was the scenery along the way?" the girl asked the old man.
"Scenic? Hehe, it's very nice," the old man replied.
The girl glanced at Li Yong and then asked the old man.
"Can we go with you?" she asked.
The old man didn't care.
The girl looked at Li Yong pitifully.
Li Yong had no choice but to agree.
Besides, he just wanted to walk, and climbing the mountain wouldn't be bad either. As soon as Li Yong had said his opinion, the girl immediately agreed.
"Okay, okay, I'll come too," she said.
