Part 1
Are there perfect people in this world?
In the past, Li Yong would have answered without hesitation in the negative. But now, looking at the girl next to him, he wasn't so sure.
She was simply perfect.
He couldn't tell what style her clothes were, but her crisp, clean clothes perfectly complemented her stunning beauty. She
was absolutely stunning.
Li Yong tried to find a flaw, but to no avail.
The key point was that the girl had a gentle smile and kind eyes, devoid of the arrogance expected of a beauty of her stature.
For a moment, Li Yong wanted to turn around and say, "You're so beautiful!"
But he didn't.
He wasn't very good with words, let alone flirting, and he was aware of this.
It was the girl who spoke to him first.
Her voice was soft and pleasant.
"Hey, why hasn't the bus left yet?" she said.
Li Yong checked his watch.
It was a full ten minutes past the departure time on his ticket.
"Maybe the departure times aren't that strict in this small county," Li Yong said, speaking matter-of-factly.
"Oh."
"The bus isn't full. The driver probably wants to wait a little longer, for a few more people," Li Yong said.
The girl looked at Li Yong and smiled.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
Li Yong named the tourist attraction.
It wasn't very well-known, but everyone who had been there had high praise for it.
"Traveling there?" the girl said.
"Yeah."
"Why are you traveling alone?" the girl asked again, smiling.
It was an invasion of privacy, but since it was the girl asking, it was acceptable.
It was still a case of her beauty taking advantage.
"No reason, I just wanted to go for a walk alone," Li Yong said.
The girl chuckled, looking unconvinced.
Of course, it wasn't that simple.
His ex-girlfriend had dumped him for a wealthy older man, and Li Yong suddenly felt he couldn't stand that city or his boring job anymore. So he quit and decided to travel.
He didn't have any particular goal, just to avoid crowded attractions and explore secluded places.
Li Yong couldn't tell this to a stranger.
The girl was understanding and didn't ask any more questions.
"Are you traveling too?" Li Yong asked the girl.
"Yes."
"You seem to be alone too?"
The girl smiled and nodded.
"Why are you alone too?" Li Yong asked, throwing the question back at him.
The girl smiled.
"I like to walk alone too," the girl said.
Could it be that this girl has also been heartbroken?
That shouldn't be the case. How could such a beautiful girl be heartbroken?
Moreover, her expression was relaxed, without a trace of unhappiness.
"I just saw you give money," the girl said.
"What?" Li Yong asked, not understanding what the girl meant.
The girl explained.
"At the station entrance, I saw you give money to the one-legged man," the girl said.
Only then did Li Yong remember.
When he entered the station, he saw a one-legged man sitting on the steps with a tin can in front of him. However, this man was different from other beggars. He had a sour face and looked like he didn't care whether to give or not. He was completely unlike other beggars and didn't pretend to be pitiful at all.
Li Yong had a good impression of the man, so he walked up the steps and put some money in the jar.
"You gave me ten dollars," the girl said.
Li Yong smiled.
He had specifically chosen a ten-dollar bill and dropped it into the jar, unlike the others who only gave a one-dollar bill.
But even after giving ten dollars, the man showed no gratitude and remained indifferent.
"You're quite observant," Li Yong said.
"Oh, I was right there," the girl said.
But Li Yong didn't notice the girl at the time.
She was so beautiful, he shouldn't have missed her.
Just then, Li Yong felt someone poke his shoulder, and he turned around.
It was a young man.
The young man's face was full of smiles.
Li Yong looked at him questioningly.
"Brother, I'm sorry, I have a favor to ask you," he said.
"What is it?"
"I want to switch seats with you," he said.
Switch seats?
Li Yong looked at him, then at the situation behind him.
He was probably sitting two rows back, and there were two other young men about his age with him, who were looking at him with smiles on their faces.
"Why do we have to switch seats?" Li Yong asked the young man.
"Uh, I'm a little carsick. Sorry to bother you, big brother," he said.
Li Yong was sitting in the first row, but the young man wasn't sitting far back, just in the third row.
Li Yong suddenly understood.
He wanted to sit next to the beautiful woman.
Li Yong coldly refused him.
"I'm carsick, too," Li Yong said.
After a while, the young man poked Li Yong's shoulder again.
Li Yong turned his head and saw a cigarette offered to him with both hands.
"Sorry for the trouble," the young man said.
Li Yong smoked, knowing that the cigarette was expensive, but Li Yong himself couldn't afford it anyway.
