Chapter 84 Caitlin's Thoughts
Although she felt wronged, after listening to Levi's conclusion of the team struggle, Caitlin still fell in love with the atmosphere here.
Even her mother, who always responded to her requests, would sneer at her ideals; and these leaders, who would argue fiercely with her because of their differences in status and opinions, could stand firmly with her on her ideals.
A person will always have relatives and friends in his life, but he may not necessarily find a soulmate.
But the people here are all comrades to each other.
So Caitlin quickly forgot the unpleasantness that had just occurred.
She casually tidied up her torn and messy clothes, tied up the ponytail that Wei had pulled apart, and found a seat to sit down in the venue as if nothing had happened.
Caitlin awaited the convention with great anticipation.
Not long after, the little girl from Zaan, Wei, who had previously had a physical conflict with her, took the initiative to sit next to her.
"I'm really sorry for what happened just now." After Levi's ideological education, Wei really put aside the rebellious and bandit-like spirit that was unique to Zaun people in front of the Piltover girl she once hated.
As she spoke, Wei handed over the ointment she had brought from the factory infirmary: "Here is the medicine."
"You can take it for disinfection...or something."
Caitlin glanced at Vi in surprise.
Then she took the ointment with a calm expression, opened the lid, turned it over and looked at the deep teeth marks on her wrist: "I didn't expect that besides biting people, you would care about others."
"Haha." Wei could tell there was something else behind the girl's words.
But she still said frankly: "We Zaun people fight to survive, so we can't be so gentle. So as long as we can win, we can use teeth, nails, and anything else."
"And..." Vi pointed to the bruised handprint on her arm that was deeply burned into the flesh. "You little girl from Piltover, you must be just as hard-working as the people from Zaun."
"You asked for it," Caitlin shrugged.
Although the words were direct, the tone was not hostile and even a little friendly.
It's strange to say, maybe it was the effect of Levi's team-building theory, or maybe it was the magical fate that made people meet each other through fighting, she unexpectedly had a liking for this little girl from Zaun.
Vi seems to feel the same way about Caitlyn.
After she apologized and delivered the medicine, she didn't leave. Instead, she leaned back, crossed her legs, and sat down next to Caitlin.
"Hey, Caitlyn." Wei took the initiative to talk.
She looked at the faintly visible "white line" on Caitlin's body -
For some reason, after Levi asked Janna to show the power of everyone's faith, he never canceled this magic.
So now there is such a thin white line lingering around everyone, just like everyone's identity mark as a leader.
Everyone can see each other's lines, which has led to countless exchanges and discussions.
"I never expected that..." Wei looked at Caitlin's thread and sighed with concern: "Your thread is actually quite bright."
The thickness of the line represents the strength of the mental power.
The brightness of the line represents the degree of piety of faith.
Vi and Caitlyn are of similar thickness, and both are powerful beings far superior to ordinary people.
And the degree of brightness and darkness of them, that is, the degree of piety in their faith, is surprisingly almost the same.
They are all the kind of firm believers whose whiteness is so bright and dazzling, and who are "devout" enough.
"Caiten." Wei couldn't help but ask, "Are you a Piltover native and also a radical?"
"Hmm?" Caitlin frowned slightly.
She knew that two factions had evolved within the Leaders: moderate and radical.
Caitlin was certainly a gentle person. She would never be an enemy of her mother.
And this girl named Wei is a radical who is obsessed with violence. Among the Piltover masters she wants to physically destroy, Caitlyn's parents may be among them.
So Caitlin asked unhappily: "How do you know that I'm a radical?"
There was a hint of alienation in her tone.
Wei seemed oblivious to this, and she just explained to herself: "Because your 'line' is very bright, your faith is very firm."
"I guess people with strong beliefs are mostly radicals."
"Those cowards who fantasize that the Lord of Piltover will be kind, and the beggars who lie down and wait for charity from the rich, can't have such pure beliefs!"
Wei felt that her theory made sense.
Now the enemy is strong and we are weak, and the power of the Piltover Council is still extremely powerful.
Those who dare to persist in armed struggle and draw the sword against the enemy under such circumstances must be braver and have more faith than those moderates who are afraid of struggle and dread it.
"That may not be the case."
Caitlin's face turned cold again - unfortunately, politics was a topic that could easily end friendships.
I only heard her say to Wei in a tit-for-tat manner:
"When I was a law enforcement officer, I heard my senior say:"
"Those prisoners who were so rebellious and shouted that they wanted to 'stain the port of Piltover with blood' when they were arrested, few of them could stick to it after they were arrested."
"On the contrary, some 'cowards' who were so scared when they were arrested could last for days and nights in the interrogation room, and would not give in even if they were beaten to death or disabled."
"Faith... cannot be demonstrated until it is truly put to the test."
“So being radical is not necessarily brave, and being moderate is not necessarily cowardly.”
"You radicals' courage may not come from faith, but may also come from recklessness and ignorance."
"You?!" Wei was speechless.
She could only curse: "You moderates are so damn ignorant!"
Then Vi was silent for a long time before organizing her words: "You are not only ignorant, but also naive! What do you mean by non-violent non-cooperation... How can the people of Piltover be so kind as to give you the benefits without bloodshed?"
"They may not give it to us on their own initiative." Caitlin did not back down: "But we can fight for it."
"How do you fight for it?" Wei sneered, "Are you going to confuse all the congressmen with your eloquence?"
"Yes." Caitlin nodded.
"Are you stupid?" Vi's eyes widened. She thought this Piltover girl was crazy.
Does this madman really dream of convincing the congressmen with just his words?
Caitlin only replied: "I'm not stupid...that's it."
"I am the daughter of the Gilaman family and the daughter of Senator Piltover."
Wei: “…”
"You're the congressman's daughter?!"
Law enforcement officer, congressman's daughter, this simply filled the void of all the annoying elements about her.
Caitlin ignored Wei's shock and rejection and asked seriously:
"Yes, I am the congressman's daughter."
“In the future, I will definitely become a member of parliament.”
Caitlin was reluctant to go into politics before, but now she is determined to become a member of parliament:
“I will find like-minded companions from those big families and gradually gain the highest power in Piltover. Then we will work together to change Piltover bit by bit from within.”
"Wei, do you still think that improvement is impossible?"
The Piltover councillors have all "rebelled". The path of moderate reform seems to be working.
"No...Impossible!" Wei still felt that it was not possible.
She looked Caitlin up and down, and finally concluded: "If what you said is true... then you are the biggest freak in the Twin Cities!"
"How could there be another one like you who comes from a noble family and worships Janna ?"
"It will happen!" Caitlin was very sure.
Are there any good people among the nobles? Yes, there are.
Jace Tallis, her childhood sweetheart, is undoubtedly a good person to develop.
Councillor Heimerdinger, too, might sympathize with their struggle.
Even her mother, a congressman, had a period of innocence and passion when she was young.
So, is it possible that there are no other young people like her and her mother among the great families that rule Piltover?
"I believe I will find it."
"As long as there are enough people in the big family who believe in Janna, then with our united efforts, we can definitely transform Piltover from the inside out and win a non-violent, bloodless victory for everyone!"
As she spoke, Caitlin's tone became extremely fanatical.
Looking at the flames surging in her eyes, Wei suddenly realized:
Why can this girl from Piltover be both a moderate and a devout believer?
Caitlin's faith was indeed strong, but the direction and route were different.
The words she said were referring to this path...
"Is it really true?" Wei couldn't help but fall into deep thought.
