Chapter 8: The Girl's Heart That Cannot Be Touched 2
Hongze turned around and glared at me, then walked to the dining table angrily and started playing with the Zhenyun Sword. The moment he held the dark Zhenyun Sword in his hand, Hongze's hair suddenly grew long, and his long hair fluttered in the air. Hongze jumped onto the dining table, waving his sword with great momentum. With black clothes and long hair, and the black sword in his hand, Hongze no longer looked like the boy who had been with me day and night, but like an ancient war god from a legend.
This feeling of distance made me feel unreal. I turned my head away from him and sat on the sofa, kicking the corals on the ground out of boredom. The more I looked at the corals on the ground, the more annoyed I felt. Finally, I stood up and shouted, "Why do you throw so many corals to get in the way?"
Linglong beside me was startled by me, and she meowed and scurried into the kitchen with her back hunched. I sighed, not expecting a response from Hongze, and took out a garbage bag from under the coffee table and started packing the corals so I could throw them out.
When I passed the dining table carrying two large bags of coral, Hongze was poking the snake skin on the ground with his sword and had no intention of helping. I glanced at the snake skin, lost the desire to talk to him, and walked straight out of the room.
"Fu Lingmiao?" Ji Yuyao's voice came from the elevator.
I tried to hide the two bags of coral behind me, but they were too big to cover my body. Instead, my unnatural movements caught the attention of Jiang Hao who was following behind Ji Yuyao.
"Oh, what good stuff do you have? You have to hide it?" Jiang Hao crossed his arms and looked me up and down. "Did you know the person in charge was coming, so you prepared a gift for him? Don't hide it, we won't tell anyone. Don't you often give gifts to the person in charge? What are you afraid of?"
"A gift? If you like it, I'll give it to you. To me, it's just trash that's in the way." I imitated Hongze, narrowed my eyes slightly, and said to Jiang Hao in a dangerous tone.
Jiang Hao probably didn't expect me to confront him head-on. He took a step back and said with his neck stiff, "What are you doing? Are you angry because your pain point was touched? Have you finally realized that your gift is rubbish to the person in charge? You just want to please the person in charge by drawing a crayon picture of 'family'. Do you think you are a famous painter? Idiot, Nie didn't ask you to come here to train you to paint. You are just daydreaming."
"Jiang Hao! Stop talking!" Ji Yuyao pushed Jiang Hao and smiled at me apologetically, "Ling Miao, don't take it personally. Jiang Hao didn't mean anything else."
"No, I don't care." I nodded coldly, raised one hand and shook the bag in my hand towards Jiang Hao, "Do you still want this garbage?"
"Who are you calling trash? Fu Lingmiao, explain yourself to me!" Jiang Hao yelled, as if he was going to rush up and hit me.
Ji Yuyao dragged him, apologized to me, and dragged the cursing Jiang Hao out of the elevator. I shrugged and threw the two bags of coral into the big trash can in the corner of the elevator. My expressionless and even stiff face was reflected in the window.
I took a deep breath, rubbed my face, and walked back to the room. As soon as I opened the door, I saw Hong Ze holding the Zhenyun Sword and carefully poking the Soul Binding Cage on the coffee table.
The tip of the sword touched the Soul Binding Cage, and a strange light flashed on the dark blade of the Zhenyun Sword, but Hongze was not hurt at all. He raised the sword excitedly and shouted: "It is indeed a treasure!"
My heart sank, and I closed the door gently. If it was okay to contact the Soul Binding Cage through the Zhenyun Sword, then what Ji Heng said before about making the Soul Binding Cage into a sword tassel would also work. For Hongze, it was just as simple as having an extra sword.
The more I thought about it, the more upset I became.
I pretended not to see Hongze who wanted to share his joy with me, sat down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and clicked the remote control.
Hongze, who was bored, seemed to be competing with me to see who was louder, and he hit the fish tank on the table with his sword , causing the little koi to run around in the fish tank. After a while, he felt that it was not enough, so he picked up the soul-binding cage with his sword and used the tip of the sword to bounce the soul-binding cage like a ping-pong ball.
I watched and turned up the volume of the TV in annoyance. Finally, the soul-binding cage lost its balance and fell to the floor.
Hongze threw away the Zhenyun Sword, and the long sword fell to the ground with a dull sound. He jumped up angrily and roared, "What's wrong with you? Are you so unhappy that I pissed Jiheng off? You obviously like those corals, but you want to throw them away out of spite. I didn't force you to throw them away. If you don't want to, don't throw them away. And you are angry and ignore me. You are so angry when you go out. You curse back at anyone who makes you unhappy. If cursing doesn't make you feel better, you fight back. If you can't beat them, you ask me for help. What's the point of coming back to lose your temper with me? Why are you so fickle? Can't you see me now that you have Jiheng?"
Facing Hongze's accusations, I just felt confused. This was simply turning the tables. He was the one who walked away first, he was the one who stopped talking to me first, and he was the one who was yelling at me now.
I had been holding back my anger, and my emotions exploded along with Hongze's outburst. I imitated Hongze and threw the remote control to the ground with all my strength. I closed my eyes and screamed, "Ahhh! Am I fickle or are you? Aren't you the happiest person when Jiheng comes? First you were sarcastically silent, then you couldn't let go of a broken sword, and now you blame it on me. You drove Jiheng away, and if you couldn't bear it, just go and call him back. Why are you blaming me? Who do you care who I meet outside? What does it have to do with you? Aren't you going to leave? Take your broken sword and go! Who allowed you to stay here? Go find Ling Jiao! Aren't you pestering her every day and having a hot relationship with her? I might as well give her the Soul Binding Cage, and then you can stay by her side! Go!"
"Who is Ling Jiao? When I mention Ji Heng, you just pick up someone I don't know to brush me off. I don't even know what you are talking about! Leave? Where should I go? The Soul Binding Cage is right here, where can I go? It's easy for you to say, why don't you try to leave? Why don't you leave? Go!" Hong Ze was furious and kicked the sofa.
I seemed to be greatly stimulated. I bent over and tried to overturn the coffee table. The soul-binding cage on the coffee table rolled to the ground silently. The glass coffee table fell to the ground with a bang, and instantly shattered into pieces of glass, leaving only an empty frame.
Hongze subconsciously reached out to help, but his movements were not as fast as the coffee table's unbalance. It was not until the coffee table broke that he drew his hand back in a trance, as bewildered as a child.
Looking at the broken glass on the ground, I fell down on the sofa, staring at the TV in a daze, gasping for breath and unable to utter a word, my heart filled with a mixture of anger and joy, regret and relief.
An idol drama that was filmed at an unknown time was playing on TV, and a boy and a girl were arguing. When the boy was about to slam the door and leave, the girl, who was trying to keep him, burst into tears, picked up everything she could hold and threw it at the boy, shouting, "Go away, don't come back if you leave."
I thought the boy would slam the door and leave without , ignoring the girl who said one thing and meant another. But the boy suddenly walked towards the girl, hugged her tightly, and said harshly: "How can I bear to leave you alone when you are like this?"
I stared in surprise, unable to believe what I was seeing. It was obvious that this boy would not be restricted by the Soul Binding Cage and could leave the girl unhindered, but he was held back by something and could not walk away or escape.
What was it? What was holding him back? I fell into deep thought.
Suddenly, Hongze seemed to be inspired, walked to the door like the wind, and opened it. I stared at him blankly, and he also looked at me, and the air seemed to be still.
"Aren't you going to throw something at me?" Hongze raised his hand and pointed in the direction of the TV, looking a little confused.
"I don't have anything I can use to hit you." I glanced around me. The sofa, the TV, and the broken coffee table, none of them were things I could pick up to hit him with.
"Is that so..." Hongze raised his hand and scratched his neck, looking confused and said, "What should we do now?"
I hesitated for a while. I felt a little dizzy from looking at Hongze against the light. After thinking for a while, I said, "Why don't you close the door first? I feel a little dizzy after looking at him for too long."
"Oh." Hongze responded, closed the door obediently, and continued to look at me. Seeing that I didn't respond for a long time, he hesitated and said, "Um... should I go over and hug you?"
Hongze’s sudden proposal made me a little overwhelmed. I turned my head to look at the TV, which happened to be a close-up replay of the scene where the boy hugged the girl.
The boy's knuckles turned white from exerting so much force, and the girl's head trembled from crying. It seemed as if something was binding them closely together.
I whispered to him, "But we have no reason to do that... We only have the Soul Binding Cage."
"I just did it when I wanted to. Do I need any more reasons?"
"I've never done what I want so much." I stared at the broken glass on the floor. Under the light, it actually reflected a variety of colors. "I've never done what I want so much. I've never lost my temper like today, and I've never smashed things like today. I don't do things without reason, without reward, or to cause trouble to others."
"What about Zhou Mian?" Hongze interrupted me and asked rudely.
"Zhou Mian is very important to me. I will always be grateful to him. He is like a spiritual pillar that has always supported me." The complex feelings for Zhou Mian have run through almost all of my past life, and I believe that they will also run through almost all of my future life. I don't quite understand why Hongze suddenly mentioned Zhou Mian. My eyes fell on the Soul Binding Cage on the ground. I took a deep breath and made up my mind, "If... I mean, let's find a reason other than the Soul Binding Cage together."
After saying that, I squatted on the ground, picked up the Soul Binding Cage with one hand, and took the Cloud Suppression Sword with the other, wanting to study how to make the Soul Binding Cage into the sword tassel of the Cloud Suppression Sword. This time, I realized that the Cloud Suppression Sword was extremely heavy. Not to mention my one hand, even if I used all my strength, I couldn't shake it at all.
Facing my surprised gaze, Hong Ze couldn't hide his smile, walked over with small steps, and said proudly: "Huh, you can't lift it. Let me tell you, this is not a spineless magic weapon like the Soul Binding Cage. This is a treasure made by Li Kong with a lot of hard work, a blood sacrifice of a sword master, and 100,000 black irons."
Seeing Hongze's somewhat servile appearance, the haze in my heart was swept away, and I couldn't help but tease him: "Oh? Such a powerful treasure in the world, but the current owner is restrained by a spineless magic weapon. No wonder I feel that even the sword body has become dim. Otherwise, you can play by yourself?"
Hongze quickly jumped over, picked up the Zhenyun Sword and handed it to me with both hands, but he kept saying, "Play by yourself. I like to pass the sword back and forth. If you like it, take a look. If not, forget it. I will play by myself anyway."
I smiled and ignored him, looking carefully at the hilt of the Zhenyun Sword. It would have been fine if I hadn't looked at it, but when I did, I was stunned. The hilt of the Zhenyun Sword was also made of black iron, round and smooth, and it couldn't be tied with any rope or belt, let alone the small hole I wanted to use to thread the thread.
I said unhappily, "At first I found it strange that the sword used by the person you mentioned so powerful was not a weapon but a sword of literature. After all this time, it turned out to be your wishful thinking. Where is the place for you to tie the sword tassel on it?"
Hongze was even more surprised than I was. He stared at the hilt for a long time and asked in disbelief: "Ah? This sword can't have a tassel?"
"Nonsense, where are you going to tie this slippery thing?"
"What should we do then?"
"Cold!"
Hongze looked at my expression carefully, then looked at the sword in his hand, and silently put the sword away: "There is nothing I can do. Such a good thing cannot be used."
Hongze gave up without hesitation, which made me feel a little strange. I couldn't help but ask him, "Why aren't you disappointed at all?"
"Disappointed? Why? Didn't Jiheng say at the beginning that he just wanted to come and see us, so I didn't have much hope. He didn't take it out at first, probably because he also found that the sword tassel could not be tied to the Zhenyun Sword, so he should think of another way." Hongze spread his hands, looking nonchalant, and was sure that Jiheng still had a backup plan.
Seeing that he was serious and what he said made sense, I nodded and pointed at the coffee table on the ground and asked him, "What should we do?"
Hongze took a step back cautiously: "Buy it! Don't look at me, I won't help you recover, this is not in line with the material rules of this world."
I rolled my eyes at him: "Who told you to recover? I told you to clean up!"
"Why? Am I here to clean you up?"
"Humph, you just ate my steak and now I'm so hungry that I feel dizzy and weak."
"You! Humph! I'll take care of it!"
Seeing Hongze really start to pack, I nodded with satisfaction and happily announced my decision to go out: "That's right, after we finish packing, we will go to the home furnishing supermarket to buy a coffee table! By the way, I will buy you some food and Linglong's cat food."
"Wait for me a minute!" Hongze shouted excitedly, picked up the broken glass on the ground like a whirlwind, and hopped to the door waiting for me to open it.
I smiled and shook my head, and suddenly I felt like I was taking a kindergarten kid out. An indescribable emotion accumulated in my heart. I reached out to open the door, and Hongze ran out excitedly, but I no longer worried that he would run too fast or too far.
Hongze ran two steps, then suddenly stopped and turned back to urge me: "Hurry up! It's getting dark!"
"Hey!" I responded, looking up at the sunset in the sky, and a warm feeling spread throughout my body.
