Chapter 8: The Girl's Heart That Cannot Be Touched 1
Hongze pushed away the plate in front of him with disdain and knocked on the table in dissatisfaction.
I looked at Hongze and had a headache. The delicious steak Hongze was talking about was the steak made by the nine-star chef that Ling Jiao took us to eat at the three-star Michelin restaurant not long ago. I wonder if the nine-star chef would cry when he compared such a carefully prepared steak with the steak I made.
"Are you going to eat now or not?" I picked up Hongze's plate and pretended to feed it to Linglong beside me.
Sure enough, Hongze snatched the plate away and said to Linglong in dissatisfaction: "Smelly cat! That's my food, go eat your cat food."
I was a little amused, thinking that I had finally fooled him. Unexpectedly, Hongze only kept quiet for a second.
The next second, Hongze's eyes turned around and he acted innocently: "Human, when are we going to eat steak again? Tomorrow is the weekend and it's a sunny day, why don't we go eat it again!"
"Hey, hey, can you please stop being so nonchalant? That meal costs several thousand. Do you know how many documents I need to translate and how many frozen steaks we can buy?"
"I don't know, I don't know! I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it! I want to eat steak, eat steak."
"Steak, steak. Isn't there a steak in front of you? Eat it quickly."
"So when are we going to eat steak?"
I slapped my forehead in agony, wishing I could scream to the heavens, but in the end I could only weakly say, "Ah! You might as well just kill me!"
Hongze seemed to be frightened. He took two steps back, his eyes wide open: "Why? I can't kill!"
I calmly said, "No, you misunderstood. I was joking and not really making a request."
"Oh, I was wondering why someone would make such a strange request," Hongze nodded in agreement, and then seemed to remember something, "So the delicious steak..."
"Hey! That's enough! Can you please make some contribution to the family before saying such things?" I shouted unbearably.
A huge water curtain suddenly appeared on the wall, and a familiar voice came from behind the water curtain: "Huh? Home? You have accepted Hongze as your family so quickly?"
Among the people I know, I'm afraid only Hong Ze in front of me and Ji Heng, whom I met once before, can make the water curtain appear suddenly.
As I was thinking this, a person walked out backwards from the water curtain. His pink hair was a little messy. He was wearing a long bright red fur coat, which made him look furry. He was wearing a pair of pointed short boots with black sequins, and the black tight leather pants with decorative chains remained unchanged.
Ji Heng stepped out of the water curtain and turned around suddenly and gorgeously: "My young master Ji Heng , I'm honored to meet you." As Ji Heng's voice fell, the water curtain on the wall slowly disappeared.
Hongze said before me: "You are becoming more and more exaggerated."
I nodded in agreement: "You look like a cooked red hairy crab."
"Humph! Red hairy crabs, that kind of imported stuff, are not as good as me." Ji Heng raised his neck in dissatisfaction, shook his pink hair, pushed Linglong aside and sat down next to me, "I brought good stuff with me."
I guess the "good stuff" that Jiheng mentioned is probably some kind of magical weapon that can suppress the restriction of the Soul Binding Cage. I picked up Linglong and sat on the sofa calmly, watching Jiheng take out things one by one.
"This is the life scale given to me by Azure Dragon, this is the nine-section whip given to me by Red Dragon, and this is the White Snake..." At this point, Ji Heng paused, looked at Hong Ze carefully, and confirmed that Hong Ze did not react before continuing, "This is the hundred-year-old snake slough given to me by the White Snake, and this is the last time someone..."
"You come to see me with these things?" Hongze cut a piece of steak and stuffed it into his mouth. He seemed to have no interest in the pile of things on the table.
"Hey, I just wanted to come and see you. Didn't you have a 'family' agreement with Master Lingmiao? I thought you wouldn't be able to fulfill it so soon, right?" Jiheng rubbed his hands embarrassedly, swept everything on the table to the ground with a wave of his hand, and pointed at the steak I hadn't eaten yet, "Is this for me?"
"No. You haven't made any contribution and you still want to eat steak? Dream on!" Hong Ze didn't even look at Ji Heng. He stretched out his long arm and dragged the steak in front of Ji Heng to himself.
"Uh...it's obviously you who wanted to eat delicious steak. Lord Lingmiao thinks you have not contributed much to the family, so why is he blaming me? This is not my home, I am a guest. Guest, do you understand? Giving me steak is the way to entertain guests." Jiheng said dissatisfiedly, glancing at me from time to time with a look of help.
I shrugged, indicating that it was useless to ask me for help. Hongze was the most protective person I had ever seen in my life, even Linglong couldn't compare to him.
"The art of hospitality? Giving my steak to others? That's not how we do it in my family." As he spoke, Hongze had already finished his own steak. With a wave of his knife, he easily cut off a piece from my plate and put it into his mouth to eat.
"Your family?" Ji Heng repeated doubtfully, and suddenly said seriously, "Hongze, does Lord Ling Miao really agree that you are his 'family'? Then is the Soul Binding Cage..." Ji Heng did not finish his words and turned gaze to me.
I was watching the excitement as I had nothing to do with it, but I didn't expect Jiheng to mention the Soul Binding Cage so soon. I looked at Hongze who was concentrating on eating steak. Seeing his slow movements, I knew he was listening with his ears perked up, waiting for my answer.
I slowly closed my eyes, exhaled, and heard my own voice ringing in my ears: "Yes, I have regarded Hongze as my family. Therefore, I will give the Soul Binding Cage to you..."
"Really?" Ji Heng cried out, "In fact, I still have the first generation demon master Li Kong's Zhenyun Sword with me. I think if I hang the Soul Binding Cage on the Zhenyun Sword like a sword tassel, I will be able to suppress the Soul Binding Cage with the Zhenyun Sword."
"Ah?" I opened my eyes in surprise, watching Ji Heng excitedly waving a pitch-black sword, as if all the surrounding light had been sucked away by the sword. My intuition told me that this sword could really suppress the restriction of the Soul Binding Cage on Hongze.
Perhaps, today is really the day when Hongze and I part ways. Thinking of this, I silently let go of Linglong in my hand and took off the soul-binding cage hanging around my neck. Just putting it on the coffee table seemed to have exhausted all my strength.
"Eh?" Ji Heng came up and reached into the void. In his hand, a bunch of pearls and various gemstones appeared. "Master Lingmiao, I just wanted to come and see you. I also brought you a gift. You see, each gemstone on this bracelet was refined by me for 49 days. And this one, this is not an ordinary gemstone. It is the legendary Night Pearl, which is hard to come by."
I leaned on the cushion and watched Jiheng take out various rare treasures and show them to others with lack of interest, without saying a word.
"I also brought deep-sea corals, which I'm sure you haven't seen before! This is not just any deep sea, it's really deep, the kind that no human has ever been to!"
Ji Heng mysteriously took out two brightly colored and peculiarly shaped corals and handed them to me like a treasure.
"Hey! You wanted to eat the steak, go and eat it!" Hongze, who had been motionless, suddenly walked over, snatched the coral reef from Jiheng's hand, stuffed the plate with half a piece of steak into his hand, and said rudely.
"My coral..." Ji Heng held the plate blankly, looking puzzled.
I didn't know what was wrong with Hongze. I just watched as Hongze pushed Jiheng hard, raised his hand and pointed in the direction of the dining table, and said unhappily, "You have to go to the dining table to eat."
"But I don't want to eat." Jiheng, who was lifted up, looked aggrieved, with his pink hair drooping down.
I couldn't bear to watch it any longer, so I couldn't help but speak up for Jiheng: "Forget it, it's just a small piece, and it's cold. Jiheng can eat it in one bite. Why don't you just let him eat it?"
Jiheng, who was being carried, nodded frantically after hearing what I said, and looked at Hongze pitifully. He rolled his tongue and swallowed the steak into his mouth, shouting vaguely, "I have eaten the steak, I have eaten it."
Hongze sighed, loosened his grip on Jiheng's collar, and pointed to the kitchen: "When you're done, take your plate to the kitchen yourself. No one will help you clean up."
Ji Heng, who had fallen to the ground, stood up while rubbing his buttocks, pouting and muttering, "I only took a small bite..." Although he was dissatisfied, Ji Heng still obediently took the plate and walked towards the kitchen.
I couldn't help laughing. Hongze's words sounded righteous, but they were actually the words I usually used to teach him.
Hongze looked at me and smiled. He sat on the sofa with an awkward expression, stroking Linglong's fur from time to time, and said lightly: "Jiheng used to be a lazy guy who always had everything he wanted. He even liked to eat while sitting on the bed. He would bring everything to the bed to eat."
"Oh, I see." I replied casually, not understanding what was going on.
"And he loves drinking! He drinks eight out of ten days. After drinking, he falls asleep and cannot be woken up no matter how we call him." Hongze was a little anxious. He turned to face me and spoke seriously, using exaggerated gestures, as if he was afraid that I would not believe him.
"You like to drink, I didn't realize. It's okay to have a drink occasionally, but being addicted to alcohol is harmful to your health. You still have to take care of yourself." I don't understand why Hongze suddenly wanted to tell me about Jiheng's hobbies, forcing me to say all the social etiquette.
"Not bad? Not at all!" Hongze looked like his eyes and nose were about to be crooked by anger. He moved a little closer to me. "He used to like a lobster, so he went to the lobster's house every day. Later, he even occupied the house and refused to leave! Also, this deep-sea coral is a common way he uses to coax girls. He gives deep-sea coral to any girl. He carries so many corals on him all year round. If you don't believe me, search him and you'll find that he still has a lot."
"Ah...really?" I pressed my back tightly against the sofa, trying to distance myself from Hongze. I answered carefully, with only the thundering sound of my heartbeat in my ears.
"Hongze! Did you deliberately send me away just to say bad things about me in front of Master Lingmiao?" Jiheng rushed out from the kitchen and shouted in dissatisfaction, "I brought you so many treasures! How could you treat me like this? It's really too much!"
Hongze glanced at Jiheng and said coldly: "Treasures? Apart from the Zhenyun Sword, what else can you find but junk?"
"Rubbish?" Ji Heng seemed to be frightened, his voice was so high that it was about to break, "You actually said that my life scales and snake skins were rubbish? I see, you must have done this to me on purpose because I brought the white snake's skin."
"Huh, did I make up what I said? Which one of them is not true? I haven't even mentioned the time when you gave deep-sea corals to girls all over the world and were buried in coral reefs by the girls in the end."
"Pfft!" I couldn't help laughing at Hongze's words. Seeing Jiheng's injured look, I quickly stopped laughing and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. You guys continue."
"Damn you Hongze! You've already said it! Didn't you swear that you wouldn't tell it?" Ji Heng grabbed his hair in pain, as if some horrible memory was brought up by him.
"Ahem..." Hongze coughed unnaturally and looked up at the sky innocently. "Well, I spoke too quickly... Well, I am Fu Lingmiao's family member. If you want to get close to her, I must be responsible for her and tell her your details."
"You! I will never come again! You will die here!" Ji Heng, who was so angry, raised his hand and waved it in the air. Dozens of corals appeared behind him. He raised his hand and all the corals smashed towards Hong Ze. As the corals flew out, Ji Heng jumped towards a nearby wall. A huge water curtain appeared on the wall the moment he touched it, and his figure disappeared between the water curtains.
Hongze raised his hand, and the coral fell to the ground with a crash, as if it had hit an invisible barrier.
I looked at the colorful corals on the ground and couldn't help but say, "You really carry so many corals with you..."
