Chapter 8: The Girl's Heart That Cannot Be Touched 3
"Lingmiao, you guys go to the music classroom first. Help me get my books. I need to go to the Chinese teacher's office."
Zhou Mian put the book on my desk, gave me some instructions, and walked out of the classroom.
"Hey!" I was holding the book, and before I could call him, he had already walked out of my sight.
"You guys? Then let's go?" Li Zimei took out a music book from her schoolbag, looked sideways at me, with some doubt in her eyes.
"Ah?" My eyebrows jumped, and I subconsciously waved my hand to refuse, "No, I... I'd better wait for him. He doesn't speak clearly. You go with them first."
As soon as I finished speaking, two girls who were good friends with Li Zimei came over. Li Zimei smiled at me apologetically, but was quickly dragged away by them.
When most people in the classroom had left, I took out my music book from the drawer, walked slowly to Hongze's seat and patted him to wake him up.
Hongze, who was half asleep and half awake, snorted, rubbed his eyes and asked me: "Have you eaten?"
I rolled my eyes at him in annoyance: "All you know is eating. Change classrooms, lazy pig!"
Hongze then lazily stood up, wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth, and said, "Are you alone?"
Usually when we have to change classrooms, Zhou Mian usually takes the Soul Binding Cage with Hong Ze, or I go with them. It is very rare for Zhou Mian to be called away early like today.
"Well, let's go. Zhou Mian has been called away by the class teacher. Let's go and see if we can wait for him." I explained casually, urging Hongze to hurry up.
Just as we walked to the office, the door was opened from the inside. A tall and thin man in a suit appeared in front of us, holding a briefcase in one hand and an A4 paper in the other. He looked up and saw us.
"The person...in charge." I subconsciously took a step back, almost biting my tongue in embarrassment.
"Oh, it's Lingmiao." The person in charge greeted me slowly and asked casually, "Is this Lingmiao's classmate?"
"I'm Hongze." Hongze spoke before me, as if declaring something, with a provocative tone.
"It's Hongze, hello." The person in charge nodded, and after a simple greeting, he calmly put away the A4 paper in his hand and continued to say to me, "I didn't expect that I came at an unfortunate time today. Your class teacher said that you should change classrooms for this class, so I planned to go to Yuyao's first. You go to class first, and I'll find you at noon."
I pursed my lips, nodded cautiously, and moved aside to make way. He had just glanced at the A4 paper in his hand. The paper in his hand was probably our class report card. But looking at his indifferent performance, I couldn't judge how he viewed Hongze's identity.
I waited until the person in charge walked to the stairwell before I lowered my voice and asked, "What were you doing just now?"
Hongze curled his lips: "He has bad intentions."
"Who has bad intentions?" Zhou Mian's voice came from behind us.
When we turned around, Zhou Mian was walking out of the office. He hooked his arm around Hongze and me by the neck and shouted, "I'm so tired."
I struggled to escape from Zhou Mian's shackles, rubbed my shoulders, and said dissatisfiedly: "Why are you so tired?"
Zhou Mian squeezed his hands and said, "Help the old man. By the way, I just saw your person in charge."
"Yeah, I just ran into him. He asked Hongze's name, and then he took a look at the transcript. But he didn't say anything. I don't know if I'm being too nervous." Looking at Zhou Mian, I expressed my concerns.
"Took a look at the transcript?" Zhou Mian frowned, obviously knowing what I was thinking, "Hongze, can you now..."
"No." Hong Ze interrupted Zhou Mian directly, "Just now I said he had bad intentions because he might be carrying something. Anyway, I can't detect him, nor can I change his impression."
"What?" As soon as Hongze said this, Zhou Mian and I said in unison.
Hongze shrugged nonchalantly: "Anyway, we can stop the enemy with our own troops and block the flood with our own earth. You are just messing up your own formation."
Hongze's words calmed me down a little. I nodded and said, "Well, let's go to the music classroom first and talk while we walk. The person in charge didn't suspect anything at first, but he became suspicious when he saw us."
"Lingmiao," the person in charge's voice suddenly came from behind me. I almost fell to the ground as my legs weakened just as I took a step. I barely stood up and looked back. The person in charge was standing in the stairwell with the dean of studies.
"The chairman just called me and said I have to rush back at noon. I have already asked for leave for your music class. Let's chat for a while." The person in charge nodded to the dean and said to me in a tone that could not be refused.
I was shocked, thinking something terrible was going to happen.
Eight hundred thoughts flashed through his mind. How could he naturally hand over the Soul Binding Cage to Zhou Mian? However, if he took off the Soul Binding Cage from his neck, he would be suspected no matter how he looked at it.
"Lingmiao?" The person in charge called me again calmly.
I came back to my senses immediately and answered loudly, "Okay. The routine conversation shouldn't take too long. Zhou Mian, please wait for me for a moment. I'll go to music class with you when I come out."
"Lingmiao's relationship with her classmates has become good." The person in charge seemed very pleased. He nodded, pushed the door and walked into the head teacher's office, looking back at me.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Since I couldn't take down the Soul Binding Cage, it would be legitimate for Hongze to stay.
The person in charge sat on a chair and routinely asked me about my recent situation at school. I answered them one by one obediently. In fact, the main purpose of the person in charge's inspection at school was never to talk to us, but to talk to the class teacher. Soon, the conversation ended.
I coughed lightly and said, "Hey, person in charge, if everything is fine, I'll go to class first." After that, I turned around and was about to leave.
"Lingmiao, you have more friends in school." The person in charge slowly raised his eyelids and glanced at me lightly.
I paused for a moment and tried to calm myself down: "My classmates are very easy-going and most of them can talk to me. Although I can't say that we have a very good relationship, I will focus on improving my communication skills and communicate with others more."
"Really? I heard that you have a good relationship with your school's 'Prince Dragon'?" The person in charge tilted his head slightly and said casually.
I pretended not to understand what the person in charge was talking about, and repeated Hongze's title, cursing him ten thousand times in my heart: "'Prince Jiaolong'?"
The person in charge nodded in understanding and explained, "It's Hongze who was with you just now. It seems that the girls all call him that. Why do they call him 'Prince Jiaolong'?"
I continued to pretend I didn’t understand: “Really? I don’t know. The girls in our class all call him by his name. He has a good relationship with Zhou Mian, so they have some contact.”
The person in charge raised his chin slightly and repeated my words: "A little contact?"
I swallowed nervously, thinking about what went wrong with my words, and answered more carefully: "When changing classrooms for classes, I sometimes go with them. If Zhou Mian eats at school, he usually asks Hongze and me to come. His home is not far from the staff building, so we have met on the bus a few times."
"Oh? You live in Nie's Rongcheng?"
The person in charge nodded, and didn't seem surprised that Hongze lived not far from the family building. He told me the name of the community where the family building was located.
Jiang Hao really told the person in charge. I was somewhat glad that I took the initiative to confess, and answered half-truthfully: "It seems so, I didn't ask for the details."
"You have never been close to Yuyao and the others. I saw that you finally made a few more friends, so I couldn't help but ask a few more questions. It seems that, alas..." The person in charge stared at me, looking a little distressed, and his tone was also full of loss. "Lingmiao, you are good in every way. It would be even better if you were more cheerful."
"Yes, I will follow the instructions of the person in charge and work hard to become a useful person to the Nie family." I exhaled carefully, bowed slightly to the person in charge, and said respectfully.
"Well, go ahead. Zhou Mian is probably still waiting for you. I'm almost leaving too." The person in charge stood up, patted me on the shoulder, and motioned me to go out.
"Goodbye, person in charge." I bowed slightly again and walked out of the office. I heard the person in charge walking out behind me.
As soon as I left the office, Hongze and Zhou Mian were leaning against the guardrail chatting. I pretended to be surprised: "Hongze, you are waiting too? I thought you would leave first."
"How can I leave?" Hongze turned around and glared at me fiercely. After seeing my wink, he changed into a rogue and said, "Why should I leave?"
"No, I'm just a little surprised." I said apologetically, "Zhou Mian, let's go to class quickly. It should be starting soon."
"It feels like only ten minutes have passed. Let's go."
Zhou Mian nodded and called me over.
Although Zhou Mian was standing on the side close to the guardrail, I still consciously squeezed between Zhou Mian and the guardrail and let Zhou Mian stand between me and Hong Ze.
"Is that so?" Hongze took two steps forward without warning, turned back and raised an eyebrow provocatively, "Then let's run!"
"Hey! You guy!" I didn't care about the person in charge behind me. My mind was full of the restrictions of the Soul Binding Cage , and I hurriedly chased after him.
Zhou Mian quickly caught up with me and ran past me, frowning but saying in a cheerful voice: "Run, let's have a race, the slowest person gets a drink after class!"
"This is not fair! You are a boy and you run faster than me!" I responded in a cheerful voice. When I ran to the stairwell, I glanced out of the corner of my eye and saw that the person in charge was still standing at the office door looking at us.
Hongze was standing on the rest platform of the stairwell, looking at me with such a cocky expression that I wanted to hit him.
I said angrily, "Why are you running away?"
Hongze turned his head, snorted, and walked downstairs on his own. Zhou Mian and I looked at each other, both of us shook our heads in confusion, and followed silently.
Is he angry because I deliberately let Zhou Mian stand in the middle?
I just felt puzzled. There was a person in charge who was a potential threat. I winked at him from the beginning, and he obviously understood. What was going on? With a head full of questions, we had already walked out of the teaching building.
