Chapter 8 If Life Was a River

The class fight lasted for a long time in school, and the students involved were punished.
Lai Huaguang's mother came to the school to make trouble several times and even had a conflict with teacher Li Mei.
After learning the whole story, the principal tactfully told Lai Huaguang's mother that he could transfer to another school.
Lai Huaguang's mother became obedient after hearing this. It turned out that the school really dared to expel her son.
Thanks to Teacher Li Mei's determination, He Shu received a not-too-large amount of medical compensation without having to show up.
But at least, this is an attitude, the attitude of a teacher being responsible for his or her class.
With that little bit of money, Li Mei came to He Shu's house, four days after the fight.
The swelling at the corners of He Shu's eyes had subsided, but the bruises and wounds still looked so shocking.
Li Mei entered He Shu's home and her eyes fell on the photo of He Shu's mother. She felt very sad.
He Shu asked the teacher to sit down and poured him a glass of boiled water.
"He Shu, you keep the house so clean." Li Mei was speaking from the heart. She couldn't have imagined that a half-grown child living on his own could keep the house so clean.
"I'll take you to the hospital later. Tomorrow is Saturday, so you can rest for two days and go back to school on Monday."
He Shu sat on the other side of the round table with his mother's urn at hand.
"Teacher, I don't want to go to school anymore."
Li Mei was stunned for a moment: "He Shu, I promise you that no one will bully you anymore. The principal has already held a meeting to criticize those students in front of the whole school. Don't be afraid."
"I'm not scared." He Shu lowered his head: "I just don't want to go to school. My grades are not good anyway."
Li Mei was silent. She did not rashly speak any profound truths to He Shu, but tried hard to put herself in He Shu's situation.
There was silence in the old room. Li Mei suddenly reached out and touched He Shu's head.
"He Shu, you don't want to go to school because you don't like those classmates?"
He Shu nodded, then shook his head. He didn't like himself either.
These days, He Shu has been thinking that the reason why so many classmates dislike him may really be his own problem, although he doesn't care about other people's opinions.
"Actually, the teacher understands. The teacher was also your age."
"You are a sensible child. The teacher does not want to tell you that if you study hard, you will not be bullied and will have a bright future, because the teacher thinks you should understand these principles."
"He Shu, the teacher just wants to tell you that life is not always smooth sailing. Maybe you think you always encounter bad things, but in fact everyone will encounter some problems."
"When you grow up and look back, you will find that these are really insignificant little things."
"And now you've given up your studies and your life because of these little things."
Li Mei shook her head: "Teacher doesn't want you to regret this many years later."
"In life, you will always encounter various things. What matters is whether you dare to face these problems and setbacks."
Seeing that He Shu didn't say anything, I don't know if he heard it or not.
Li Mei took Qi Yue's photo and asked He Shu to face it: "He Shu, the teacher thinks that your greatest suffering has passed. What else do you have to fear?"
He Shu's eyes blurred instantly. In his blurred vision, the teacher's gentle smile looked just like his mother's.
"The only thing to fear in life is fear itself, and the only certainty in life is uncertainty. He Shu, the teacher hopes that you have the courage to face the unknown, because your life is still very long."
"Don't feel that you are alone. You still have teachers and your mother who will accompany you to experience your future life in another way."
Li Mei stuffed Qi Yue's photo into He Shu's hands, and the boy in front of him burst into tears...
On Monday, He Shu returned to school and found that Lai Huaguang was missing. Xia Miao secretly told him that Lai Huaguang had transferred to another class.
He Shu remained silent. He was no longer afraid of anything.
Just like the teacher said, these little things, like little waves in life, will not knock him down.
He Shu began to focus on his studies, and he didn't care even if he was occasionally targeted at school .
Xia Miao seemed to have figured it out. She was no longer ashamed or angry about her classmates' teasing looks. Although they were still young, it was wrong to fall in love too early.
But she didn't have a premature love affair with He Shu, she just liked He Shu... um... this classmate very much.
Teacher Li Mei spared no effort to teach him, and He Shu gradually became less awkward. If he had any questions, he would take the initiative to ask the teacher after class.
His grades got better and better, and by the third year of junior high school, he was already ranked among the top three in his grade.
Although he changed classes, Lai Huaguang, who had always paid attention to He Shu, was deeply shocked. The only achievement he could be proud of was also surpassed by He Shu.
In addition to the fact that he was embarrassed by his mother before, and Xia Miao ignored him after class, Lai Huaguang restrained himself a lot. In short, he didn't bother He Shu anymore.
As for the other classmates in the class who used to be very good friends with Lai Huaguang, they are still very good friends now and they often play together after class.
He Shu was still excluded by the boys in the class, but he no longer felt bad about it.
Even if it is just to make his mother feel at ease and see that he is working hard in life, and for the sake of such a good teacher like Li Mei, and more importantly for himself, He Shu has to be firm.
Life in the third year of junior high school is stressful and boring. For most people, the high school entrance examination is also a very important watershed.
When you do something seriously, you will feel that the time passes by very quickly.
On the day of the high school entrance examination, He Shu, the only one without his parents waiting outside the school, was the first to hand in his paper.
Compared to other people's nervousness, He Shu didn't think much about it after the exam.
Do your best and leave the rest to fate.
In short, grades will not deceive those who have worked hard.
After the results came out, He Shu did not disappoint his mother or teacher Li Mei, and he was admitted to the key high school in the city.
Xia Miao has always been following He Shu. When He Shu was studying hard, she was also trying hard to keep up. Besides, her academic performance was not bad either.
So he happily got into the same school as He Shu.
On the day of leaving school, the classmates exchanged gifts with each other, and Xia Miao gave He Shu a jar of folded lucky stars.
Teacher Li Mei called him out alone, hugged him gently, and gave him a hardcover diary.
"He Shu, remember what the teacher said. Your life has just begun and there are still many hurdles to overcome. I hope you can move forward courageously!"
He Shu nodded. He also had a gift he wanted to give to Teacher Li Mei, but not now.
After returning home, He Shu looked through the diary given to him by his teacher.
I saw only what was written on the title page: If life is a river, I hope you are a boat that keeps moving forward; if life is a boat, I hope you are a sailor who is not afraid of wind and rain.
