Chapter 7 If Time Is a Circle 2
As soon as I walked out of the bathroom, I saw Guo Lu standing outside waiting for me. I walked over with a bit of guilt and said, "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
"Xiao Lun and Chu Chu have already left. Are we leaving too?" Guo Lu saw that I was in a bad mood, but he didn't point it out and asked me.
"Okay ." I nodded and went back to the private room to get my bag.
The boy who had a small dispute with me just now saw me packing my bag and asked, "Hey, Lin Xiaolun went out to date his girlfriend first. Are you two going on a date too?"
"What are you talking about?" I stopped packing my bag and looked at him sharply.
The boy leaned back in his chair, and said with a hint of mockery: "Qin Le, you are a little pedantic. Is that necessary? You are already a college student. Dating is normal. There is nothing to be shy about."
I stood up, walked around the table, and poured the unfinished glass of beer on the boy's face.
The boy blocked it in panic, then stood up and glared at me fiercely: "Are you sick?"
The people next to us saw this and hurried over to hold us back. I broke free from the person holding my hand, raised my empty cup and said, "I am sick, so you'd better shut up. If you keep talking nonsense, what's splashed on your face won't be wine, but glass shards!"
"You dare!" the boy roared.
"You try it." I said with a smile on my face, both sarcastic and serious.
Guo Lu came over, took the cup from my hand, then put his arm around my shoulders and led me away.
The boy threatened: "Guo Lu, if you really get together with this woman, don't call us brothers!"
When he reached the door, Guo Lu stopped and said coldly, "Whatever."
After saying that, he took my hand and led me out of the restaurant.
Guo Lu's pace was too fast for me to keep up with. I trotted a few steps and walked side by side with Guo Lu, and asked, "Can we not go back to school first?"
"Where do you want to go?" Guo Lu looked at his watch. "I'll go with you."
I let go of Guo Lu's hand, feeling a little wanton, and said with a smile: "I'm not full."
"What else do you want to eat?" Guo Lu asked me.
“Um…” I put my hands behind my back and turned around, “KFC.”
"Okay." Guo Lu took me to a nearby park and said, "Just wait here for me. I'll buy it for you and be back soon."
I pointed to the lawn next to me and said, "I'll wait for you there."
Guo Lu nodded, then ran to buy me something to eat. I lay on the lawn , looking at the vast night sky, and the dark clouds in my heart slowly dissipated.
After a while, Guo Lu came back with KFC and beer. We sat back to back, eating KFC, drinking beer and chatting about life.
"Le Le, did you cry when you went to the bathroom?" Guo Lu still asked this question.
I smiled and said, "It's very rude of you to ask me that."
"Then let me ask you a question again." Guo Lu said, "Do you know that the best way to forget someone is to accept another person?"
I took a sip of beer and pouted, "Wouldn't that be deceiving myself and hurting others?"
"You haven't even tried it, how do you know it will hurt others in the end?" Guo Lu pressed on.
I nodded in agreement: "Yeah, that's true."
Guo Lu clinked glasses with me: "You don't plan to go back?"
"No," I said. "Just look at the stars here, and you'll feel much better. Lie down."
Guo Lu listened to me, put down his beer and lay down. I lay beside him, pointed at the sky full of stars and asked: "Can you count how many stars there are in the sky?"
"No." Guo Lu shook his head.
I said, "I can't count them either. In fact, the universe that we can see with our naked eyes is also a world like humans. The existence of each star is like the existence of each person. We can't recognize all the stars, nor can we know all the people. Look, the North Star, over there is Orion, and there are Minor and Ursa Major. These constellations that we can quickly distinguish are just like the people we know. I remember you are Guo Lu, I remember Chu Chu is Chu Chu, I remember my parents are my parents, because these are all important people. And those insignificant people, like these stars that I can't name, may meet, may have contact, or may never see each other in my life. But it doesn't matter. We don't need to understand all the living beings one by one, because everyone is really too small. It's already very good to be able to do our best. So, why should we care about what others think? That will restrict our pace of progress."
Guo Lu moved a little, lying on his side and looking at me.
I continued, "I used to be very naive. I thought that what was mine would always be mine, but as I grew up, I gradually understood that I shouldn't hold on to some things too tightly. If they are really mine, they will come back eventually no matter how far away they are. You don't need to hold on to things that truly belong to you too tightly, because you will be very confident about them. People and things are the same. You can't force them, and you can't force them to stay. In short, just let everything take its course and wait for God to arrange everything. We don't need to break the laws of nature , but we can't succumb to the shackles of nature. Being content and willing to let go are the two most precious treasures in growth."
After I finished speaking, Guo Lu didn't answer me for a long time.
I turned my head and saw that he was already asleep.
I smiled knowingly and looked at him quietly, and suddenly thought of Grandpa Boiler in Spirited Away. I reached out to push away the weeds next to and said softly, "Dear Mr. Boiler, thank you for spending this dark time with me. I am very grateful."
Guo Lu suddenly raised his hand, put his arm around my waist, and pulled me into his arms. I was startled, and pressed myself against him gently, not daring to move. Guo Lu closed his eyes, raised the corners of his lips, and whispered, "I'm really happy that Lele can say these words."
"You, you're not asleep?" My heart was beating fast. It was the first time since I grew up that I lay with a boy in such an intimate posture.
Guo Lu shook his head, opened his eyes, and said, "I dare not interrupt you because what you said is very right."
I felt a little uncomfortable and wanted to leave his embrace. Guo Lu put his hand on my back and said domineeringly, "Don't move, it will be fine in a while."
My cheeks felt slightly hot, and I just lay there quietly without moving.
The night was deep, slowly rolling in like a black curtain.
I gradually fell asleep, and Guo Lu beside me also began to snore softly.
At noon, the light was a little difficult for my eyes to adjust to. I slowly opened my eyes and what came into view was a face full of wrinkles.
"Ah!" I screamed in fear and quickly got up from the ground. Guo Lu heard my voice and sat up, rubbing his eyes.
An old man in a sanitation uniform, holding a broom in his hand, looked at us and sighed: "Young people nowadays, the world is really going downhill, the world is going downhill."
"What a corrupt society! Our clothes are neat and tidy." I responded dissatisfiedly, then I packed up all the garbage and left with Guo Lu.
Apparently I was unlucky all the way, and the taxi driver looked at me like I was a monster. Guo Lu seemed to be still asleep, and said to me in a daze, "Sorry, Lele."
"Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong." I said this to Guo Lu, but my eyes were staring at the driver in the rearview mirror.
Guo Lu rubbed his temples and said, "I really shouldn't have slept on the lawn. I should have gone to a hotel and booked a room!"
I clearly saw the driver swallowing his saliva. I was so upset that I leaned against the window, not wanting to explain anything.
When I returned to the dormitory, the people there were even more excited. As soon as I got back, Yangyang and Pei Ya quickly surrounded me and asked me if I had gone out with Guo Lu to spend the night. I glanced at Ding Chuchu, who was sitting on a chair with her back to me, and said, "I was so tired that I looked at the stars in the park and then fell asleep."
"Wow, looking at the stars? In the park? In the open air?" Yangyang said with a smirk.
"What? We were just sleeping. We didn't do anything else." I looked at the two girls in front of me helplessly.
Pei Ya and Yang Yang immediately exclaimed: "Ah, go to sleep!"
I said with a dark face, "Sleeping means closing your eyes and sleeping unconsciously!"
"Oh, we all understand, don't explain."
Seeing their infatuated looks, I felt that no amount of explanation would be of any use, so I silently threw down two words - "gossips", and climbed into bed to catch up on some sleep.
I haven't seen Lin Xiaolun for a long time since the last celebration banquet, and Ding Chuchu has been staying in the dormitory and has not gone out.
When I was going home on Friday, I met Ding Chuchu on the bus. She was carrying a bag of fruit.
I sat next to her and asked calmly, "Where is this bus going?"
"Lin Xiaolun's house, he's sick, I'm going to see him." Ding Chuchu's voice was a little weak. I realized that she was much more tired after being with Lin Xiaolun, and she didn't have the chivalrous spirit of the chivalrous woman in the past.
When we arrived at the community, I walked in front and Ding Chuchu walked behind. She suddenly stopped and called me softly, "Le Le."
Her voice was slightly hoarse.
I didn't look back. Ding Chuchu continued, "Do you remember that I once asked you for forgiveness, saying that if I did anything to offend you in the future, you must forgive me and believe that I was doing it for your own good?"
"Have you ever done anything to offend me?" I held back my tears, turned around and smiled at him.
Ding Chuchu smiled. Although her face was haggard, she was still so beautiful. Tears flashed in her eyes. She suppressed her tears and said, "Yes, of course not. Even others can see our current relationship, right?"
"You think too much." I said with a smile, "It's nothing, I don't care. Go upstairs first, don't cry, don't let Aunt Tang see you later."
Ding Chuchu wiped her tears, nodded, and followed me into the elevator.
At that moment just now, I did feel soft-hearted, but it is an indisputable fact that I can no longer be as close to Ding Chuchu as before.
I knocked on Lin Xiaolun's door on behalf of Ding Chuchu, and Aunt Tang opened the door.
"Le Le! Chu Chu is here too, come in quickly." Aunt Tang was still as enthusiastic as before.
I smiled and said, "Auntie, I won't go in. I have to go to the airport to pick up my mother later. Chuchu is here to see Lin Xiaolun. You two can have a good chat. Say hello to Lin Xiaolun for me."
"Okay, your mother is back, come and have dinner with us." Aunt Tang invited me.
"Okay." I nodded in agreement, then turned and left.
"Le Le." Ding Chu Chu called me, "You... remember to come in the evening."
"Yeah." I answered without looking back and entered the elevator.
On the way to the airport, I received a text message from Guo Lu on my phone: "Qin Le, would you mind going out for a cup of coffee with Mr. Boiler?"
I replied: "I have time to go back to school, anytime."
Today, Ms. Ye Qianli and Mr. Qin Yang are finally coming back. I still miss them a lot.
When we met them at the airport, I put my hands in my pockets and walked around the gate waiting for them.
Ms. Ye Qianli was dressed up gorgeously. When she saw me, she opened her arms from a distance and ran towards me: "Baby Lele!"
I looked at my mother who was always so happy, and my nose suddenly felt sore. She ran over and hugged me tightly, touched my head, and asked, "Does Lele miss you? Now that I'm back, I won't leave. Lele has grown up so much, and I have to worry about Lele's many things."
I leaned in my mother's arms and didn't say a word.
"What's wrong, Lele?"
My mother is very sensitive and seems to have noticed my emotions.
She held my face, but I lowered my head and dared not look at her. As soon as I saw my mother, my emotions began to collapse. I had never shared my pain, grievances, happiness and joy since I was a child with my mother. I thought I would not rely on my parents, but when I saw them, the wall in my heart still collapsed.
I sobbed uncontrollably.
"Is it because of Xiaolun?" Mom held my head and asked with concern.
I nodded recklessly, tears streaming down my face.
Mom hugged me, pushed all the luggage to Dad, and said with a smile: "I thought so, you are trapped by love. Many of Mom's friends have excellent sons, who are both rich and good-looking. Do you want me to introduce one to you?"
I held my head high and said, "No!"
"Then who do you want? Lin Xiaolun?" Mom patted my shoulder.
"No, he's not mine." I said angrily.
The mother said guiltily: "I shouldn't have left you at home when you were little. I should have taken you to fly around the country. That way you would have known more people and wouldn't have had a special liking for Lin Xiaolun."
"That's right," I agreed. "It's all your fault."
"Blame me, blame me." Mom quickly took the blame on herself and started chattering to me about the interesting things she and Dad encountered abroad.
I really had no interest at all, but was forced to listen for half an hour before I got home.
If time is a circle, when it returns to the starting point, will I no longer have grown up, and will Lin Xiaolun still be by my side?
People are eager to grow up, but also tired of growing up.
