Chapter 4 Sun Yu's Family Affairs 2
"Jian Lening, Sun Yu, come to my office."
As soon as the second math class in the morning was over, the math teacher called me and Sun Yu over during the exercise time.
Sun Yu and I were both very surprised and couldn't guess why the head teacher suddenly wanted to talk to us.
Not long after, Sun Yu helped me to the office. The door was not closed, but we still shouted "report".
Our homeroom teacher, Ms. Meng, was sitting at her desk. There were a few students standing in front of the desk with their backs to us. Judging from their clothes, they didn't look like students.
A middle-aged man crossed his arms over his chest and cursed at the students in a rage. In anger, he reached out and hit the leading boy on the head. His curses were mostly words like "Why are you still going to school if you cause trouble all day long?"
"Teacher Liu, please save your energy for now. Our classmates are here." The head teacher said to the middle-aged man jokingly, and then waved at us, "Come in!"
The student who was standing there being scolded turned around when I heard what I said. The moment our eyes met, I felt the blood in my body quickly solidify. I subconsciously glanced at Sun Yu beside me, and her expression was not much better than mine.
"Last time I asked you how Jian Lening got injured, you told me that she fell accidentally, but I always feel that's not the case. Do you know these classmates? Sun Yu, did they go to your dormitory to cause trouble for you? Did you do something wrong? Otherwise, why would this brat run out of the girls' dormitory in a panic and bump into me without even saying sorry."
The head teacher said this, pulling the boy who was scolded over and asking us.
The boy's face turned red after being scolded, and he stared at Sun Yu and me fiercely, thinking that he was caught because we told the teacher about it.
But I can guarantee that for Sun Yu's sake, I have never mentioned the incident to anyone, and Sun Yu probably didn't tell the class teacher either. Everyone knows that this group of people is not easy to mess with, and Sun Yu is not so stupid as to seek trouble for himself.
According to what the class teacher said, it was probably those people who came out of our dormitory and were caught by the class teacher.
But why did the head teacher wait until today to bring up this matter?
We thought the matter had just passed, and no one expected that the kindness of the head teacher would push the matter to an irreversible point.
"Why are you staring so wide-eyed? Are you trying to threaten me? My classmates are afraid of you and don't dare to tell me the truth, but I'm not afraid of you. Wang Dewei, right? You're a senior this year and will graduate soon. Why do you want to be expelled so much? Tell me, did you hurt Jian Lening's foot? What are you, a few boys in the third year of high school, doing in our dormitory for the first-year girls? If you don't make things clear today, don't leave. Fortunately, your teacher Liu is here too, so let's waste time together." The head teacher slapped the table angrily and scolded.
Wang Dewei and the others stood aside with gloomy faces, not saying a word.
Their class teacher, Mr. Liu, was furious. He reached out and slapped the table hard. The sound was very crisp, but the boy still didn't say a word.
"Tell me, did you hurt that person? Why are you causing trouble for him?" Teacher Liu scolded angrily.
Wang Dewei simply turned his head away.
Sun Yu couldn't bear it, so he walked forward anxiously and begged the head teacher not to be angry.
The head teacher thought that Sun Yu was afraid that Wang Dewei would cause trouble for her in the future, so she patted her chest and assured him, "Sun Yu, don't be afraid. If he doesn't say anything, you can say it. The teacher will make the decision for you!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Wang Dewei glared at Sun Yu again, and several other students behind him glared at us angrily in the same way.
"Teacher, I really hurt my foot by myself. It has nothing to do with them." I finally couldn't help but speak after being silent for such a long time since I came in.
If the head teacher keeps punishing Wang Dewei and others, they will definitely bear a grudge against us. I just want to spend these three years in peace and not get involved in any disputes.
I know that Wang Dewei and his group are not people I can afford to offend.
Besides, I didn't lie. Wang Dewei didn't hit me. I fell because I was careless.
"Teacher, she said she hurt herself, it's none of our business."
A girl in a bright red sweater standing behind Wang Dewei raised her narrow eyebrows and said dissatisfiedly.
"Do you think the teacher is a fool? Sun Yu, Jian Lening, don't be afraid, just tell the truth!" The head teacher glanced at the girl coldly and said angrily.
"That's enough. Just scold me. Why scold my friend? I was the one who injured that person. So what? Isn't it just expulsion from school? Do you think I want to study here?" Wang Dewei suddenly roared and glared at the head teacher.
Teacher Liu, who was standing aside, was so angry at his words that he trembled all over.
"Liu Boyi, I've had enough of you. If you want to drop out of school, then drop out. I don't have time to listen to your nagging."
Wang Dewei yelled at Teacher Liu, then walked out of the office and slammed the door shut.
When he left, he passed us by. I saw him glance at Sun Yu and said, "You little bitch, you dare to tell on me, just wait!"
After Wang Dewei left, the furious Teacher Liu pounded the table with his fist and took out his anger on the other people.
"Who among you wants to be like Wang Dewei and not want to study anymore? Leave now. As long as you are worthy of your parents and the two years you have spent, leave now if you don't want to graduate. Otherwise, I will be embarrassed along with you!"
The remaining few people hung their heads and stopped talking. Even the person who was chewing gum at the beginning didn't dare to chew it anymore.
Finally, after repeated questioning by the class teacher, the group of people told the whole story of why they came to cause trouble for Sun Yu.
The head teacher asked us for confirmation and we nodded in agreement because what they said was true.
"No matter what, if you hadn't caused trouble for Sun Yu without knowing the situation clearly, Jian Lening wouldn't have been hurt. Go back and write a letter of apology and give it to Teacher Meng. Also, say sorry to the girl."
Now that everything was made clear, Teacher Liu took the lead in giving his students a way out.
The three men glanced at us, said "sorry" reluctantly , and then walked out of the office silently.
Just as they were about to disappear at the door, the head teacher suddenly remembered something and hurriedly called them: "If you see Wang Dewei, tell him too. Even if he doesn't want to study anymore, he still owes Sun Yu an apology!"
Someone snorted coldly, but no one answered.
The head teacher sat back in his seat angrily. Teacher Liu said, "Mr. Meng, since the matter has been resolved, I will leave. I have classes later."
"Yeah." The head teacher responded, without looking at Teacher Liu again, but just looked up at me and Sun Yu, "In the future, if there is anything, please report it to the teacher in time, don't let the matter get out of hand, and I, as the head teacher, won't even know what happened, understand?"
We didn't say anything, but just listened to the head teacher in silence.
"I'm sorry." After leaving the office, Sun Yu apologized to me in a depressed mood.
I looked at her in astonishment. When I realized what she was saying, I hurriedly said, "Sun Yu, don't take the head teacher's words to heart. I never blamed you."
Sun Yu nodded, her eyes red, and said, "I know you don't blame me, but I still feel sad. Jian Lening, can you go back by yourself? I want to be alone for a while."
After Sun Yu finished speaking, he ran away without waiting for me to speak.
Looking at her frail back, I sighed helplessly. To be honest, I really don't know how to comfort Sun Yu like this.
After we parted, I hadn't seen Sun Yu for several days, except for that afternoon when I saw him hurriedly packing his luggage.
Sun Yu received a call from home saying that her grandmother had suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. She immediately asked for leave from her teacher and went home.
Before leaving, she asked Tang Yu, He Yiran and others to take care of me.
I told her to walk without worry. Over the past few days, I had slowly gotten used to walking with crutches. I could walk even without their support, but a little slower, especially going up the stairs, which was still a little difficult.
After Tang Yu agreed to Sun Yu's request, Sun Yu felt relieved and left the school in her aunt's car.
These days, Tang Yu really took good care of me, walked with me to and from school, and made me meals as usual. She was a pampered young lady, and we had conflicts before. She took care of me so much now, and I was really grateful to her in my heart.
When Tang Yu was with me, she no longer asked me about An Xiaoduo. She mostly talked about school gossip. Occasionally, she would mention Lin Jiarui and ask about his preferences. However, after finding out that I was not familiar with Lin Jiarui's preferences, she simply stopped asking.
The three days of the sports meet were a very happy time for everyone, but I felt very bored.
Everyone went to the playground, and I was the only one staying in the dormitory. After finishing all my holiday homework, I would read or sleep.
Tang Yu has to participate in the competition and can't take care of me. He Yiran is a class leader and serves as a correspondent . He is busy reporting on the scene. Wang Hong has made an appointment with his former classmates to watch the game together.
Every morning, my roommate would prepare enough food for me for the day and then leave, not coming back until the evening.
After getting used to the lively group life in school, I naturally felt a little lonely when I was suddenly left alone.
But I know that apart from these three days, I will have to be lonely for two days.
I didn't plan to go home this weekend, because when I got home, my parents would be very anxious to see my feet like this. I didn't want them to worry about me, so I took advantage of my free time to call Xiao Jingjing using Xu Yan's phone and lied to her that I had extracurricular training on the weekend and couldn't go home, so I asked her to talk to my parents.
I rarely lie, but I knew I had to tell this lie this time.
If I told the truth to Xiao Jingjing, given her personality, she would definitely come to school to see me, and there was a high possibility that she would let the truth slip in front of my parents.
Xiao Jingjing's business has finally gotten on track, and she also has her own life. I can't drag her down with everything.
I originally wanted to talk to Xiao Jingjing about helping Xu Yan's mother get insurance, but I couldn't explain it clearly over the phone. I thought there was no rush to get insurance right now, so I planned to go back and get it in person next time I have a holiday.
Xiao Jingjing and I chatted on the phone for a while, and finally asked me in surprise where the phone came from. I was afraid that Xiao Jingjing would misunderstand the relationship between Xu Yan and me, so I lied again and said that I bought a second-hand phone at the school gate.
There are often second-hand mobile phones for sale at the school gate, with prices ranging from 50 to 300 yuan. Xiao Jingjing probably thought it was normal for me to spend money to buy a second-hand phone. After all, almost everyone in this school has a mobile phone, so she didn't doubt it. She just told me to take care of myself at school and she would come to see me when she was free.
After chatting with Xiao Jingjing, I fell into loneliness again, staring at my plastered foot in .
The doctor told me to go to the hospital for a follow-up check-up in two or three days, but now it’s been almost a week and I haven’t gone to the hospital yet.
Firstly, Sun Yu forgot to take me with him because of family matters, and secondly, I couldn’t go alone, and I was embarrassed to trouble other people.
I thought it should be fine as long as I tied it like this, but I noticed that the instep of my foot started to swell up these few days. I rubbed it with my hands for a few days but there was no improvement. I thought I should go to the hospital.
Today is the last day of the sports meet. Once it’s over, everyone will be busy going home. I don’t think anyone would be willing to ask someone to accompany me to the hospital now.
I sat on the bed and thought for a while, and finally thought of Lin Jiarui.
If there is nothing else, I don't want to bother Lin Jiarui. He has been training recently. I haven't seen him since he came to have dinner with me the day before the sports meeting. Tang Yu said that Lin Jiarui participated in ten events, including the men's 2,000-meter race and the 800-meter race. He must be very tired after the competition.
If I couldn't think of anyone else who could help me except him, I would definitely not bother him.
I remember Lin Jiarui's cell phone number. I haven't called that number a second time except for the night when An Xiaoduo got into trouble. But I still remember it, just like I have always remembered Qixuan's cell phone number.
I remember clearly everything that happened that night , including every detail, and I can never forget it.
There was the closing ceremony of the sports meet in the afternoon and there were no competitions. When I called Lin Jiarui, I was not sure if he was still using this number. It was not until I heard Lin Jiarui's faintly tired voice from the other end of the phone that my tense heart relaxed a little.
"Lin Jiarui, my instep is a little swollen. Last time the doctor asked me to go to the hospital for a follow-up check, but I haven't been. Can you go with me after school today?"
"Well, where are you now? The sports meet is over, I came to look for you."
"In dormitory."
"Okay, wait for me, I'll be there soon, you clean up first." Lin Jiarui said readily.
After I hung up the phone, my uneasy mood slowly calmed down.
I feel less scared when I have someone with me.
If I had known that Lin Jiarui would abandon me again, I would never go to the hospital even if my feet were swollen, especially not let Lin Jiarui take me there.
That night was very cold, so cold that it seemed as if winter had suddenly arrived.
