Chapter 3 Goodbye, old butler!

For several days, Sora didn't bother me.
But Uncle Wu's condition did not improve, so I asked my parents to hire experts from abroad to treat him. However, the foreign experts were also unable to help.
On the other end of the phone, my mother was very worried about Uncle Wu's condition.
As I listened to her babble on, a sudden sense of fear arose in my heart.
I grabbed the phone and asked in a trembling voice, "Mom, if Uncle Wu doesn't make it, can you take me to the United States?"
The mother who had been nagging suddenly stopped talking, and there was a suffocating silence on the other end of the phone.
I waited for a long time before my mother said in a low voice, "Don't say anything unlucky. Uncle Wu will definitely recover."
My heart fell into the abyss in an instant.
Could it be that Sora was right? My parents were afraid that I would bring bad luck to them, so they didn't want to take me to live with them?
"Mom, when I was a kid, when you took me shopping, did you always encounter emergencies? Either my wallet was stolen or I almost got into a car accident..."
"Stop talking! It's not happening! Moli, Mom has to go to the company. If Uncle Wu gets better, call me." Mom quickly interrupted me and hung up the phone without even waiting for me to reply.
I suddenly realized with despair that Sora was right. My mother was very reluctant to talk about my childhood. Her unwillingness to talk about it meant that there must have been some problems at that time.
I had just put down my phone when it suddenly rang again. It was a call from the hospital nurses station.
I was so scared that I was shaking all over. Could something have happened to Uncle Wu?
"Hello." I answered the phone and asked in a trembling voice.
"Are you Wu Jingsong's family member?" The voice on the other end of the phone was still cold.
"Yes, yes." I felt that her next words were like a bomb that could explode and sentence Uncle Wu to death at any time.
"The patient's condition is urgent, family members please come to the hospital quickly."
I held the phone, my mind went blank, my whole body was shaking like a sieve, and I had no idea what to do.
What should I do if Uncle Wu has already passed away when I arrive at the hospital?
Or if he is dying, how should I face him?
Do you want me to admit that it was my fault that he became sick and died?
"Hey, Qian Moli, aren't you going to the hospital?" Sora's voice suddenly came.
I turned to look at him, tears welling up in my eyes, feeling extremely helpless.
"Uncle Wu is not going to die, it's just an emergency." Sora looked at me nonchalantly.
The hospital has already called, but he still acts like everything is fine!
I was anxious and scared, and wanted to get angry but couldn't. In the end, all these messy emotions turned into tears and rolled out of my eyes.
I squatted down suddenly, covered my face with my hands, and started crying loudly: "I did nothing wrong, why do you treat me like this? If something happens to Uncle Wu, there will be no one to accompany me..."
When Sora saw me crying, he was stunned for a moment, then he closed his eyes, sighed, slowly walked to me, squatted down, touched the top of my head with his hand, and whispered, "Don't cry."
"God of bad luck, stay away from me, it's all your fault, if it weren't for you, Uncle Wu wouldn't be like this! Woo woo..." I cried and pushed him. As a result, I pushed him too hard and he sat on the ground.
He placed his hands on the floor and watched me cry quietly. When I stopped crying, he said quietly, "Do you know why Uncle Wu has not been able to recover?"
I cried so hard that my face was covered with tears and my nose was about to run. I turned my head and looked around for paper, hesitatingly asking, "Why?"
Sola took out a few tissues and handed them to me. He squatted in front of me, stared at me and said, "Because you never thought about letting him go. Why are you crying? Uncle Wu is critically ill, and you are afraid that no one will take care of you and accompany you in the future, so you cry so miserably. If your parents agreed to bring you to the United States, you would definitely not cry like this."
I was stunned by what Sola said. I looked up and stared at his self-righteous face, and said loudly: "I am very selfish, but...how can you deny my feelings like this? My parents went abroad when I was still young. Uncle Wu has no children of his own and has always treated me as his own daughter. If he is sick, will I be okay?"
I thought about how Uncle Wu had played games with me and cooked delicious food for me over the past decade to make me happy. He had helped me clean my new leather shoes and iron my clothes every day. He had even learned how to braid little girls' hair, just to make me the prettiest girl in the class.
Uncle Wu’s smile, Uncle Wu’s eyes, Uncle Wu’s warm hands, everything about Uncle Wu is what I desperately need and miss.
"Well, I thought too bad of you." Sora looked embarrassed for the first time.
"I'm a bad person to begin with, otherwise why would I always bring bad luck to the people closest to me?" I shook my head in self-blame.
He hesitated for a moment, then leaned his very sexy straight shoulders towards me and asked, "Do you want to use it?"
When I saw his actions, I was stunned for a moment, my mouth pursed, and finally, without hesitation, I buried my head in his shoulder and started crying loudly.
"I'm really scared. I can't live without Uncle Wu. Aren't you a god? Help me make him a better person. I'll give you whatever you want..." I spoke incoherently, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Sora reached out and stroked my hair, over and over again, without saying a word.
I cried enough and was tired, so I said in a hoarse voice: "I want to go see Uncle Wu."
Sora pulled me up, grabbed my shoulders and shook me, saying, "Humans can't see me, go get a taxi."
We took a taxi to the hospital. As soon as we arrived at Uncle Wu's ward, a nurse stopped me and said, "The patient has severe heart failure and has been issued a critical illness notice. You should prepare yourself."
She finished her words quickly and handed me a piece of paper.
I stared at her blankly, and mechanically took the thin paper, and instantly felt it weighed a thousand pounds.
What did the nurse tell me to prepare for?
I looked at Sora for help, but when he saw me looking at him, he looked away.
I immediately felt that something was wrong, so I grabbed the nurse who was about to leave and asked anxiously, "Do you mean that Uncle Wu will not survive?"
"I didn't say that, I just want you to be mentally prepared." The nurse tugged at my collar, but I held on tightly and she couldn't pull it.
Seeing this, Sora came over and grabbed my hand away. Then the nurse left angrily.
Seeing that there were many people in the corridor, Sora pulled me to a place with fewer people, and only stopped when we reached a corner where no one was.
"It's not that there is no solution to this problem." He turned my body to face him and stared at me. "Do you remember what I said about the 'Kiss of the God of Bad Luck'?"
I thought about his previous words that he wanted to kiss me, and I felt disgusted, but his eyes were so sure. I looked at the critical illness notice in my hand, and the fortress of resistance in my heart was shaken instantly.
"Are you saying that if you just kiss me, Uncle Wu can be saved?" I looked at him doubtfully.
"That's roughly what it means. You absorbed too much of his happy energy, and I'm helping you take it back and put it back to where it came from," Sora explained.
"But why do you have to use a kiss?" I looked at him with tears in my eyes, really not understanding.
He was also in a trance for a while, holding his chin with his hand and thinking for a moment, then shook his head and said, "As for this question, I am not too sure, anyway, the great god has stipulated it this way. When I return to the divine realm, I will go ask him."
"Let me think about it." I turned around, with my back to him, and weighed the options in a conflicted manner.
On one side was Uncle Wu's life, and on the other side was me being kissed unwillingly...
But being kissed is nothing, Uncle Wu is the most important!
Thinking of this, I took a deep breath, turned around quickly, looked at Sora and said, "In order to save Uncle Wu, I agree to let you kiss me." As soon as I said this, my face suddenly felt hot. I looked at the cramped little corner in front of me, which was filled with a medical smell. It was the first time I was kissed by a boy, and Sora was not a normal boy. This environment was completely different from what I had dreamed of.
I closed my eyes and turned my cheek towards Sora, my heart almost beating out of my chest.
But I waited for a long time, but Sora didn't take any action.
"Hurry up." I opened my eyes and urged him, but suddenly found that his cheeks were red and he was staring at me closely.
I met his gaze and felt as if I was electrocuted. My breathing suddenly stagnated and my chest felt stuffy and very strange.
"Uh... it's like this..." Sora changed his usual nonchalant attitude and started to hesitate. He looked at the wall with flickering eyes, "The Kiss of the God of Bad Luck is only effective if you kiss on the mouth..."
When I heard this, my body started to burn. I looked at him uncomfortably, "Didn't you say that just a kiss would be fine?"
"I was just teasing you, trying to see if you were willing. Then, seeing that you didn't want to, I didn't use the spell. I don't like to force you." He explained awkwardly.
At this moment, the atmosphere became particularly subtle.
Just when I was so embarrassed that I didn't know what to say, I suddenly heard an urgent call from the front: "Is Wu Jingsong's family here? The patient's rescue is ineffective..."
My heart suddenly hung in the air, and it felt like it was pierced by a sharp spike, and my whole body began to tremble.
“It’s over, it’s over…” I muttered, tears streaming down my face, and I was about to rush towards the ward.
"It's not over yet, are you ready now?"
Sola suddenly held my head, making me unable to move. His hands just covered my ears, making me look directly at him. I couldn't hear a word the nurse said.
I was held by him, looking at his extremely determined eyes, and finally nodded.
He looked at me, took a deep breath, closed his eyes, pursed his lips, made a "hissing" sound, and moved towards me without hesitation.
I forgot to close my eyes and watched him approaching me. I felt an indescribable fear and subconsciously reached out to cover his mouth with my hand.
He was startled, opened his eyes, and stared at me with confusion.
"No, I can't do it." I turned away in frustration. "I feel so uncomfortable."
Sora was silent for a while, then continued: "Well, this kind of thing is a little difficult for me. How about this, we don't kiss, but I must absorb some happiness energy from your body, you cooperate with me."
"Can this save Uncle Wu?" When I heard him say this, a glimmer of hope immediately arose in my heart.
Sora thought about it and said, "It should be possible."
"Okay, let's try it." I looked at him excitedly.
He held my hand and said slowly, "I will slowly approach you and absorb the happy energy from you. Don't move."
"Okay, I promise, I won't move." I raised my hand and swore.
Sora nodded, and then said worriedly: "You have to remember that everything you did was to save Uncle Wu."
Thinking of Uncle Wu, I stood up straighter.
Sola caught a glimpse of trust in my eyes, his body slowly rose into the air, his silver hair fluttered in the air, his blue and green eyes shone seductively, he stared at me, his lips aimed at mine in mid-air, he gradually moved closer, and stopped two centimeters away from my lips.
I was stunned, my heart was pounding, and I looked away, not daring to look at him.
He stared at my face, slowly closed his eyes, and a breeze of comfort passed by my lips.
I stared in amazement at the breathtakingly handsome face in front of me. Even though I was so close, his skin was still flawless, his eyelashes were long, thick and curled, and his delicate and flowing silver hair floated in the air, shading his exquisite facial features.
Before I could recover from the shock, a colorful light suddenly bloomed before my eyes, illuminating the small space with dazzling brightness.
The wings on Sora's back suddenly opened up. The originally short wing feathers suddenly extended infinitely outward and became longer. The colorful feathers flashed with crystal light, illuminating the entire space.
I looked at the scene in amazement.
Sora seemed to be unaware of the changes in his wings. He was still immersed in absorbing the energy of happiness, and the expression on his face became more and more relaxed.
Gradually, his lips got closer and closer to mine, and I subconsciously dodged back. He suddenly reached out and grabbed my arm, pulling me closer to him. He was about to kiss me on the lips, but he had no intention of stopping.
"No!" I shouted instinctively, raised my leg and kicked him hard in the leg.
Sora's body floating in the air quickly flew towards the opposite wall, and stuck to the wall with a "bang".
From my angle, he looked particularly charming and seductive in his silver hair and blue robe under the colorful wings. His eyes were confused, and he stared at me motionlessly as if he was drunk. I suddenly felt suffocated and was about to be drowned by his eyes.
"Sora, are you okay?" I looked at him with some concern.
When he heard the sound, his pupils, which had dilated infinitely, quickly focused and he came to his senses. His body quickly fell from the wall and landed on the ground.
"What just happened?" Sora put his hand on his forehead, still feeling dizzy.
I was so embarrassed that I was struggling over whether to pull him back. I kept asking, "Can you go save Uncle Wu now?"
He turned his head to look at the colorful wings behind him, held the wings in his arms, and gently fiddled with them with his slender fingers, mumbling: "One, two, five..."
"What are you doing?" I looked at Sora, who was behaving strangely, in confusion.
"I'm counting." He looked annoyed and held up 10 fingers to me.
The corners of my mouth couldn't help but twitch a few times. Was he counting with his fingers?
"Don't look at me like that, I don't like it." He looked at me with disgust and said unhappily.
I watched him scratching his ears and counting the feathers, and I really wanted to rush over to help him. The worst student in our class is better than him!
"Lord Sora, let me help you." A crisp voice suddenly sounded in my ears.
A golden light flashed, and immediately a little boy wearing white pajamas and with golden curly hair appeared in front of him.
A person suddenly appeared out of nowhere in broad daylight, and I was so shocked that I almost screamed.
But if you look closely, the little boy has a pair of big blue eyes, a pink little mouth, and a pair of very exaggerated black-framed glasses on his small nose. One of his chubby hands is holding a small notebook, and the other hand is constantly writing and drawing on the notebook, with a very serious expression.
"Koten, now you are here. Help me calculate whether this happiness energy is enough to save Uncle Wu." Sora breathed a sigh of relief, put the feather on the ground, and waved to the little boy in white pajamas.
Cotten?
The name sounds familiar, but I can't remember where I've heard it, let alone seen him.
But he is really cute. Just looking at him makes me feel soft in my bones.
"Oh, let me introduce you. This is Cotten, an 80-year-old apprentice math expert, a digital genius, and my assistant." Sora put his arm on Cotten's shoulder and said to me lazily.
I looked at him with wide eyes.
How can such a cute child be 80 years old? It's unbelievable!
Besides, how could he be Sora's assistant? Sora, who had no sense of shame or self-esteem, would only lead the children astray!
In front of such a good-looking boy, I must show my grace. I extended my hand to him, gave him a friendly smile and said, "It's an honor to meet you."
But Ke Teng didn't even look at me. He took out a calculator from his pajama pocket and started typing away.
I felt a little embarrassed. After all, I was the one who took the initiative to reach out and say hello. How could he ignore me like that?
"You've actually seen him. He was next to a trash can near the school. He pretended to be my brother. Do you remember?" Sora raised his eyebrows and looked at me and asked.
I suddenly remembered my first encounter with Sora, when he pretended to be a beggar and intercepted me on the way to gain my sympathy. But at that time, I didn't even take a close look at the "critically ill" brother lying on the ground.
Anyway, I had no good feelings about that meeting, so I immediately retracted my hand, showing a cold face, and said to Ke Teng: "I don't want to talk about the last time. Have you calculated the happiness energy value?"
He raised his head and looked at me with his deep blue eyes. His frown relaxed and he looked very innocent: “This happiness energy can basically save Uncle Wu.”
I couldn't help but be stunned. Ke Teng's face was so pure. When I heard him say that he could save Uncle Wu, a huge joy rose in my heart. I looked at them with wide eyes and said, "Then go to the ward quickly."
The three of us ran towards Uncle Wu's ward together. The door of the ward was closed. I pushed the door open with force and saw a nurse packing Uncle Wu's things. The oxygen mask on Uncle Wu's face had also been taken off.
"What are you doing?" I ran to the nurse and asked loudly.
The nurse turned her head and looked at me and said, "The patient's heart has stopped beating. Now that the family is here, it's up to you to clean up and prepare for the funeral."
"Impossible! You must have made a mistake!" I was shocked and looked at the nurse in disbelief, trying to find a hint of a joke in her eyes.
The nurse looked at me unhappily, with an expression that showed she was too lazy to explain.
I grabbed her, feeling shocked and scared, and the atmosphere suddenly became very tense.
"Miss, please let go." The nurse shook off my hand and hurried out the door, complaining like "lunatic" as she walked.
How could there be such a person? I was about to chase him, but Sola stopped me and reminded me in my ear: "Don't waste time."
"But she just said that about Uncle Wu..." I still felt unsatisfied.
"Okay, then you go chase the nurse. We'll leave first." Sora glanced at the pale-faced Uncle Wu on the bed, waved his hand, and was about to leave.
"Don't scare me." My heart trembled suddenly, and I walked quickly to Uncle Wu's bedside as if waking up from a dream.
His face was grayish with a bluish tint, and he looked very scary.
I reached out to touch Uncle Wu’s face, but I was terribly scared.
"Please move aside."
Sola pushed me aside. He stood in front of Uncle Wu's bed, staring at his face with a serious expression, his long fingers tightly clasped together, as if he was brewing something.
I watched from the sidelines nervously and expectantly, my heart was beating fast and my palms and soles were sweaty.
Suddenly, Sola's eyes became brighter. He closed his eyes and used a lot of strength to arch his back high. Through his clothes, I could even see his thin spine, which seemed like it would break at any time.
In an instant, all the colorful feathers on his wings bloomed, emitting a dazzling light and scorching heat.
I was stunned and took a step back to the wall.
I only heard him mutter something in a low voice, and then he suddenly leaned down, and I saw a beam of colorful light, with a strong airflow impact, quickly transmitted from the colorful wing feathers to Uncle Wu's body.
Sora's colorful wings disappeared suddenly like a flash in the pan. He lowered his head, letting his silver hair spread out on his chest, and his shoulders relaxed weakly.
I looked at him and Uncle Wu nervously and anxiously, and was about to move forward.
"Don't disturb them yet. This is the first time that Lord Sora casts a spell to save people, and he is a little exhausted. Let him rest for a while." Ke Teng stood in front of me and said to me seriously.
"What about Uncle Wu?" I asked Ke Teng nervously in a low voice.
Ke Teng turned to look at Uncle Wu and didn't answer me.
"Miss Moli..." A hoarse voice called out. This voice was like a stimulant that instantly made my silent heart beat wildly.
I didn't care about Ke Teng and quickly ran to Uncle Wu. I watched him slowly open his eyes and his face began to turn red again. I was very excited.
When he saw me, a kind smile immediately appeared on his face, and his chaotic eyes gradually brightened, a little ashamed: "I'm sorry to have troubled you."
"Don't talk nonsense." Seeing that he was seriously ill and still spoke such polite words to me, I felt so sad that tears almost fell from my eyes.
The ecstasy of regaining what I had lost filled my heart with gratitude.
"Ms. Moli, you've lost weight." Uncle Wu reached out to touch my face, but was hesitant because he knew I didn't like others touching me.
But this time I couldn't care less. I quickly grabbed his hand, held it in my palm, pressed it against my face, and said in a trembling voice, "So you have to get better quickly. Apart from the food you cook, other foods are not to my taste."
Uncle Wu smiled happily, but the smile just appeared and quickly disappeared, and his eyelids closed heavily again.
His face looked so ugly that I felt uneasy. I shook him a few times and called him tentatively, "Uncle Wu?"
But Uncle Wu didn't move. I was afraid that something might happen to him, so I didn't care about my image and shouted at the door of the ward: "Doctor, doctor, come quickly!"
After a while, the doctor came running over.
"Uncle Wu just woke up, but now he has fainted again. You should check on him quickly." I was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.
The doctor looked at me in disbelief. He felt Uncle Wu's pulse and checked his eyes. After a while, he looked at me with a pale face and said, "The patient is fine. You...you can rest assured."
"But, but he has fainted again!" I shouted anxiously.
"The patient didn't faint, he was just too weak and fell asleep. We will perform further tests on him." The doctor waved his hands repeatedly because of my nagging and advised patiently.
"Doctor, you must cure him!" I held the doctor's hand tightly and stared into his eyes. I didn't let him leave until he nodded frantically in panic.
"It's rare to see you so excited!" Sora suddenly said in my ear.
"No, I just don't want to work in vain!" I turned my head to look at him and said stubbornly.
He did not refute, but just shook his head gently. I then noticed that his forehead was covered with sweat, soaking his silver hair, his face looked a little pale, and his eyes looked a little tired.
I just heard Ke Teng say that this was his first time saving someone, so he might not be used to it yet. Thinking of this, my displeasure gradually subsided, and I started to worry about him.
Sora looked at Uncle Wu, then at me, and said softly, "Now, you should believe me, right?"
Believe him? I was a little slow to react for a moment, and after a pause, I suddenly realized that he was talking about my physique that brings bad luck to others, so I became disgusted again.
"Thank you very much for saving Uncle Wu." I nodded to him and thought, now that Uncle Wu is fine, I don't have to be controlled by him anymore.
"You're welcome." Seeing that I changed the subject, he just continued talking along with what I was saying.
"Then you don't have to follow me." I didn't look at him and said in a deliberately cold tone.
Sora was not angry. He looked at me with a smile and said in a teasing tone: "Although you are very good at destroying bridges after crossing them, I feel that saving people is a very hard thing, so I want to absorb all the happy energy in your body at once, so that I don't have to follow you anymore." As he spoke, he approached me.
I thought about how he almost kissed me several times, so I quickly moved away from him and said coldly, "Don't mess around."
"You change your expression faster than the weather. Now that Uncle Wu has recovered, you are satisfied. But your physique has not changed, and you are still bringing misfortune to the people around you." Sola was a little angry when he saw my resistance. The smile on his lips disappeared and his face became ugly.
Seeing his arrogant attitude, I immediately fought back: "My parents are abroad, Uncle Wu has recovered, and apart from them, I don't have anyone particularly close to me in this world. So, don't worry."
Sora was almost mad, staring at me with angry eyes.
Instead, I felt relieved, shrugged and asked him, "Do you have anything else to say? If not, I'll leave first."
After I finished speaking, I didn't even give him a chance to speak and strode out of the ward.
"Qian Moli, you're too cruel." I heard Sora's voice almost exploding with anger.
But I felt very relieved, because he almost kissed me, so of course I couldn't be polite to him!
As time went by, Sora might have been really mad at me and didn't show up for a long time.
Uncle Wu's recovery was very slow. Every time I visited him, he looked at me with self-blame and even shouted that he wanted to be discharged from the hospital to take care of me. But I could see that when he walked out of bed, his legs were trembling and his body was not as strong as before.
His hair turned white very quickly, and the wrinkles on his face became deeper and deeper for unknown reasons. Even though I hired a special nurse to look after Uncle Wu, made him nourishing soups, and kept him well, his health just didn't improve.
I looked at him and had a vague ominous feeling that if he continued like this, he might not be able to take care of me in the future.
After another month, Uncle Wu was really tired of staying in the hospital. He was very anxious. Sometimes he would get angry when he saw me and complained about the poor medical skills of the hospital. I was also very sad and felt very depressed. Sola was telling the truth. I would continue to absorb the lucky energy from Uncle Wu. If he stayed with me, his illness would probably never be cured. Therefore, the best way was to let him go and let him spend the rest of his life in health and peace.
After returning home from the hospital, I spread out some paper on my desk and thought about how to write a letter of resignation. I didn't want Uncle Wu to know the truth, so I couldn't write in a gentle tone. If it was too harsh, I couldn't continue.
As a result, it was already late at night, my desk was full of crumpled waste papers, and I still hadn't written a letter of resignation.
"So annoying." I complained, tearing off another piece of paper and throwing it on the ground.
I stood up and walked to the window. I wanted to look at the night view outside and relax myself.
A delicate white light slowly bloomed on the tree branch in front of the window, and then Sora's figure gradually became clear, and his silver hair shone with a bright soft light in the darkness.
I was stunned. I hadn't seen him for a long time. Sora glanced at me, his expression was the same as always, indifferent.
Seeing that I didn't move, he suddenly put his hands on his shoulders, stared at me and said, "The strap of your pajamas has slipped up your arms."
I was a little slow to react for a moment. When I realized what he meant, I quickly reached for the slipping shoulder strap. My face felt hot and I cursed him in my heart. Then I closed the curtains with a "rustle" and blocked him out of the window.
Sora really has a talent for making other people more upset! I thought indignantly as I sat back at my desk, looking at the blank paper in front of me, feeling melancholy again.
I was still relatively balanced, but it was mainly Uncle Wu. I was afraid that he would be too sad if he knew that I was going to fire him. He was the kind of person who blamed himself a lot, and I really didn't know what to do to make him accept it better.
"What a waste of paper." Sora's voice was full of mockery.
"Get out!" Without even thinking, I turned my head and ordered viciously.
He stepped on the scrap of paper I had discarded, hopped towards me, and glanced at me with his slanted eyes: "Is it so difficult to write a resignation letter? How about I teach you?"
"No thanks." I turned around and ignored him.
He sat down on my desk, and his flying hair just brushed my exposed shoulders. I jumped up from the chair as if I had been electrocuted, found a T-shirt from the closet, and put it on over my pajamas.
"It's very rude of you to barge into my bedroom like this." I glared at him.
He shook his head and said in a magnetic voice, "Don't worry, I have no interest in an 'energy destroyer' like you who always brings bad luck to others."
"You'd better not have it!" I didn't let him at all.
"But is it necessary for you to spend so much effort trying to fire Uncle Wu? As long as I help you drain away your happy energy, you can live in peace with Uncle Wu. Isn't that good?" He persuaded me in an inducement tone.
"You don't have to worry about this. I have my own way." I said in a firm tone, pointing at the window, "You can go out now."
Hearing this, a look of disappointment appeared on his face, which quickly turned into a look of shamelessness. He simply laid down on my desk, propped his face with his elbows, stretched himself and said, "It's so late, I think I'll just sleep here."
"No." I stared at him nervously, walked over and pushed him, "You can't sleep here." But he was as heavy as a rock and I couldn't push him at all.
"You don't want me to sleep here, so you want me to sleep on that big bed? It seems that the bed is indeed more comfortable than the table." He pointed at the four-poster bed not far away, his tone light.
"Not at all!" I was really afraid that he would occupy my bed, so I immediately jumped onto the bed, covered myself with the quilt, and glared at him, "Don't even think about sleeping here."
When he saw me glaring at him, he didn't get angry. Instead, he smiled meaningfully, touched his hair, closed his eyes, and said nothing more.
I stared at Sora on the table with fear, always on guard against his sneak attack. But I had already stayed up most of the night, and he had been tossing me around for a long time. As soon as I got to the bed, I was so sleepy that I yawned all the time, and then I fell into a deep sleep.
Early the next morning, I opened my eyes and immediately remembered that Sora was still sleeping on my desk. I was annoyed that I fell asleep and struggled to get up to check, but there was no one at the desk.
I rubbed my temple with my hand, walked to the desk, saw the papers spread out on it, and thought again of the unfinished tasks from last night.
Just write it. It’s better to suffer a short pain than a long one. Just be a bad guy to the end.
Thinking of this, I clenched my pen and wrote the word "dismissal" without any elaboration. Then I wrote something like "Uncle Wu is in poor health and cannot take care of me. I need to ask someone else to take care of me" and so on. After writing just a few lines, I felt very tired.
I had just finished writing my resignation letter when there was a knock on my bedroom door.
"Who?" I asked in surprise. Could it be Sora?
But he is such an impolite guy that he never knocks on the door.
"Ms. Moli, it's me." Uncle Wu's voice was filled with deep joy.
I was shocked and quickly got up to open the door. I saw Uncle Wu, as usual, holding a silver plate in his right hand, which was filled with my favorite fruits and snacks, and looking at me with a smile.
"Why are you here?" I looked at him in surprise. The doctor said that his condition was very unstable and he could not be discharged from the hospital.
"I'm fine now. I was staying in the hospital, but I was worried about you, so I came back. Cough cough cough..." Before Uncle Wu finished his words, he started coughing violently. The tray in his hand shook and the food was almost falling. His back also bulged up with his coughing.
He didn't recover at all!
I quickly took the tray from him, supported him with my other hand, and said anxiously and sadly, "You haven't recovered yet, how can you run around? I'll call and ask the hospital to pick you up."
I helped Uncle Wu sit in an armchair and reached for the phone.
Uncle Wu coughed violently and stretched out his hand to stop me: "Miss, don't call the hospital. I'm staying there and it feels like a year. Ahem...your parents asked me to take care of you. I have to do my duty and can't leave you alone."
Uncle Wu held me back so that I couldn't make a phone call. I was so annoyed that I advised him, "I can take care of myself. You ran away from the hospital without caring about your own health, which made me worried!"
"Then I'll go back to my room first. You have some breakfast. I'm wearing a mask and won't infect you. Cough..." Uncle Wu coughed until his face turned red, and he was about to walk out the door.
I felt so confused, looking at the food in my hand. This was made for me by Uncle Wu despite his illness. How could I eat it? If Uncle Wu continued to neglect himself like this, his health would be ruined.
At this moment, my eyes happened to fall on the resignation letter on the table, and my heart sank. I couldn't drag it on like this.
"Uncle Wu, wait a moment." I grabbed the resignation letter and called out to Uncle Wu.
His body trembled, he turned around and forced a smile: "What's wrong?"
I bit my lower lip and said loudly, "Uncle Wu, you don't need to come to Moli Castle anymore."
The smile on Uncle Wu's face gradually froze, and he looked at me in disbelief: "Ms. Moli, what did you just say?"
I looked away, especially afraid to see the heavy sadness on his face, and repeated in a calm tone: "My mother called yesterday. Considering your current physical condition, she thinks it's better for you to go back and recuperate, and she has already hired a new housekeeper to take care of me, so you don't have to worry." I found a large savings book that my mother gave me in the closet, put it together with the resignation letter, strode to Uncle Wu, and stuffed the letter into his arms. His hands were shaking so badly that he kept pushing the letter out. I stuffed the letter into his hands again and quickly let go. He seemed to have held a hot potato and didn't know what to do.
" Miss Moli, I will go back to the hospital and cure my illness. Please forgive my recklessness. I apologize to you... cough cough cough..." Uncle Wu held the letter, his body was shaking, his voice was shaking, and he coughed while shaking. His back was deeply hunched, and his pair of vicissitudes of life eyes were full of pleading.
"You'd better take care of yourself first." I couldn't bear to look at him, my tone and expression were very cold.
“My child, I have always treated you as my own daughter. I don’t feel comfortable leaving you to be taken care of by others... ahem...” Uncle Wu’s voice was hoarse, and I could feel the sadness in his heart.
"Uncle Wu, you don't have to say anything more. The people my mother invited will be here soon. You should go back and pack your luggage. I will ask someone to take you back!" As soon as I finished speaking, I turned around and slammed the bedroom door shut.
I pressed my back against the door and the tears finally burst out.
Not everything I said just now came from my heart. In fact, I really hope that Uncle Wu can stay and I can live with him like before. However, I can't let him encounter misfortune again... At this moment, self-blame, loneliness, and confusion all hit my heart. I should be able to adapt to living alone soon.
"You brought this upon yourself, why are you crying?" Sora said sarcastically while eating the breakfast Uncle Wu prepared for me.
Seeing him eating leisurely, I quickly became furious and stood up to overturn the plate so that he couldn't get any food!
But he deftly lifted the plate and kept it floating in the air so that I couldn't reach it.
I was already feeling sad, and being bullied by him, I felt anxious and angry, and tears immediately started to flow down my face.
"Why are you so sad that Uncle Wu is gone?" Sora's voice was full of mockery.
I looked at his lawless behavior and was so angry that my lungs almost exploded: "Sora, I, Asami, will go down the path I chose even if I have to crawl. You don't have to worry about it!"
"It seems that you are really sad!" He looked at me with an unsatisfied look, as if I was ridiculous, and circled around me above my head.
I was so angry that my whole body was numb, and I shouted, "I'm not sad, I'm crying because you're too much!"
"Alas, you really have no awareness at all. Then you can just wait for everyone around you to leave you, and you will end up alone for the rest of your life." Sora sighed pretentiously, and disappeared into the air with Wu Bo's plate.
"Bastard!" I was almost driven crazy by him.
