Chapter 18: Nostalgic City
Chapter 18: The City of Nostalgia
Tarasha paced back and forth in the room. She didn't know whether it was right to establish such a close relationship with Selsi. She didn't know when she fell in love. She couldn't accept the past plot replaying.
"Friend..." She
murmured to herself but no one responded.
"Selsi..."
Selsi was asking around in the village. Her gorgeous clothes and extraordinary demeanor made people happy to talk to her.
After learning that the nearest town, Aerialion, was five kilometers away, she went to find a carriage, negotiated with the driver for tomorrow's itinerary, and then strolled around the village. Time passed quickly.
It took an hour for Tarasha to calm down, and Selsi also came back.
"Tarasha, you don't know, the town we are going to is Aerialion!"
Selsi pushed open the door and said to Tarasha excitedly.
Aerialion is known as the "City of Nostalgia". The characteristic here is antiquity. The buildings and living habits all follow the ancient appearance. The most famous thing here is the timekeeping method. In today's world where astronomy is developed and watches are popular, hourglasses are still used here to tell time.
A huge hourglass stands in the center of the city. It is not just an ordinary representative building. What makes it famous is its wish-making function - every flip can make a person's wish come true. Before the sand in the hourglass falls out, it is the deadline for the wish to come true.
This hourglass is controlled by the Purple Luo Guild, which has become one of the most influential guilds.
"Dear Miss Tarasa, I wonder if I can delay you for a few days to travel with me to Elerian?"
Selsi bowed lightly like a gentleman and extended her hand to invite Tarasa.
Tarasa convinced herself in that hour that since they are friends, it should not be a bad thing to agree to such a harmless request.
She put her hand on Selsi's outstretched hand, "My pleasure."
The next morning, the two got on the carriage and bumped for an hour before they entered the city.
"I didn't expect that in addition to the Purple Luo Guild, there are so many forces of the Wanderer Guild." Tarasa couldn't help but sigh when she looked at the badge on the shop.
"Where there are wanderers, there is the Wanderers Guild. They are committed to providing a safe support for all wanderers." Selsi knew the truth. "Except for Atherton, which city does not have wanderers?"
The two walked on the road. Selsi was admiring the buildings here. Tarasha held her hand to prevent her from bumping into people.
"The Wanderers Guild was able to snatch so much territory from the Purple Luo Guild." Looking at the blue and purple interlaced emblems, Selsi was amazed.
The Wanderers Guild and the Purple Luo Guild have always been at odds. Aerialian was originally all the territory of the Purple Luo Guild. The Wanderers Guild came later. It seems that the strength of the Wanderers Guild has greatly improved in recent years because it can snatch so much territory from the local snakes who have been entrenched here for many years.
They changed another carriage and headed to the city center.
From a distance, they saw the huge hourglass standing in front of them. There was little sand left in the upper basket.
After getting off the car, the closer they got, the more shocked they were.
Not far from the hourglass, the wishing department of the Purple Luo Guild was crowded with people. Selsi asked people and learned that these were people who came to the guild to make wishes. All people who make wishes must be officially registered and complete their wishes under the supervision of public officials to avoid making any dangerous wishes, and each person only has one chance within twenty years. When everyone saw that the sand was almost gone, they knew that the last person's deadline was about to end, and now they all crowded in front of the door hoping that they would be selected.
There was a sound from the ancient clock tower, and the huge hourglass turned over, and the timer started again.
Selsi then asked how the Purple Luo Guild selected people, and the answer she got was to throw an apple, and whoever caught it would be the winner.
Tarasha was speechless, "That's really traditional."
Selsi left the crowd and continued to admire the hourglass. Tarasha couldn't help but wonder when she saw her fascinated look, is this hourglass really that beautiful? She also stared at the hourglass, but she didn't see anything, only the flowing sand.
It can only be said that the artist's vision is indeed unique.
