Volume 7: War and Peace in an Abandoned Town Chapter 3 Revelation
The feeling of launching the apocalypse made Li Lin feel very... strange.
It was like raising one's own consciousness infinitely, calling for the revelation from heaven, as if one also melted into the consciousness of heaven. Infinite knowledge and infinite clues gradually soaked the spirit like an ocean, and all Li Lin had to do was to search out some clues from that endless world and verify them.
It's strange, really strange.
Li Lin tried to stretch his arms and legs, but he could only feel his will spreading like water waves. He could not feel his physical body, but only liquefied knowledge that was gradually deepening and becoming colder like the ocean.
Countless indescribable fragments began to flow into his mind, and then disappeared from his mind like flowing water. Those horrible secrets, those hidden truths, taboo knowledge, and even some gossip, all the information flowed in his body, gradually spread in the depths of his consciousness, and then dissolved into a mass of magazines.
Rather than a revelation, it was a distant call and confirmation. An inexplicable sign and brand. He picked out the information and fragments he needed from the huge tide. The knowledge tide, like the ocean reflecting all things in the world, submerged Li Lin's brief and tiny consciousness, but Li Lin himself was not disturbed in any form. He was like a high god, constantly searching for what he needed in this vortex and tide.
Maybe a moment has passed, or maybe ten thousand years have passed. Time, the short definition of human beings for a circular journey, has gradually become blurred. But Li Lin gradually sensed a trace of brand and desire, and then woke up.
"Is the apocalypse over? What did you find?"
It was still the same room, the same professor sitting in the chair, and the same generous and compassionate eyes.
Looking at the gentle professor, Li Lin opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but what came out of his vocal cords was just a layer of noise with countless information overlapping. Even the sofa became rotten and old the moment it heard this sound.
Looking at the chair that had collapsed in , Li Lin's face changed slightly, and he subconsciously wanted to apologize. But this action became a little difficult. The sharp voice and magical notes instantly spread the cracks and decay more and more. Originally, it was just a problem of a sofa, but under this call, it gradually spread to the surroundings.
Fortunately, the chaotic ripples did not cause any damage under the blue light particles that the professor casually scattered. Instead, they were suppressed and restrained within a certain range. As for Li Lin, who closed his mouth and looked apologetic, the professor shrugged his shoulders as if he was not surprised by Li Lin's sudden burst of unreasonable abilities. It was rather familiar to him, as if he should have been like this a long time ago . Looking at Li Lin's bewildered look, the professor folded his hands and said as if it was normal:
"It's okay, don't worry about it. The first apocalypse usually has this kind of effect."
“…”
"Revelation is not complete, nor is it the kind of wish-granting machine that can guide as long as a request is given. Strictly speaking, this ability is not so much revelation as it is a kind of tracing, a weird extension based on extraordinary insight. It transcends the senses of time and space, distorts the essence of things, and then obtains the knowledge it wants. That's it."
“…”
I still can't speak. It feels like something is going to burst out of my language if I speak.
Li Lin could only sit on the rotten sofa, looking forward to what strange things his amazing professor could come up with. But it was obvious that the professor was also embarrassed by this question from his heart. After casually checking the parchment scroll on the table, the professor pondered for a moment and said tentatively:
"I found some records about the revelations I received in the past. You can do this first. Take a deep breath and empty your mind. Don't try to describe anything, but use your mind to feel and touch. In this way, you can clearly convey the revelations you have received. Although language is poor and powerless, vague language can preserve the secrets to the greatest extent. Some knowledge obtained is not suitable for expression in the most straightforward words, otherwise the world will rot as a result."
“…”
Is this apocalypse or some other ability? Why does it feel so weird?
Seeing the professor's serious expression, who didn't seem to be joking, Li Lin closed his eyes doubtfully and began to dig deeply into the knowledge and echoes that remained in his mind.
It was not a pleasant feeling, just like a person digging a grave with a shovel in the dark night. It was always a creepy feeling. Every time he dived deeper into his consciousness, he felt like he was disturbing the knowledge that had been buried and should not be dug out. It was obviously Li Lin's own consciousness, but he felt an inexplicable horror and fear.
As he recalled more, the stench and smell of corruption became stronger. This time, he was not simply speechless, but simply felt the pain and struggle brought by a certain knowledge. As if burying his spirit in a stinking mud pond, Li Lin murmured in a half-awake state about what he had seen, which almost made him lose his ability to organize language and constantly burned his remaining sanity. Everything around Li Lin gradually rusted and blackened, spreading into countless rust and mold.
Seeing this revelation, the well-informed professor immediately realized where the problem might have gone wrong. It could be that he had dug too deep into the problem, or it could be that the intention he saw was too difficult. The teacher directly imprisoned the twitching Li Lin in place. Dozens of blue runes lingered around Li Lin, imprisoning him in his position.
After twitching for a while, with all his equipment and the Breath of Sodom that had accompanied him for many years turned into ashes in the curse of the past, Li Lin finally opened his eyes and uttered a few words in a dry voice.
"I saw it... I saw it... the rotten sun..."
Just uttering these few words made Li Lin's magic power evaporate and boil, causing him to fall to his knees on the ground.
