Volume 6: War and Peace in the Black Forest Chapter 16: Battle in the Forest (Part 2)

"Dead?"
"How is that possible? It's not like we haven't killed anyone before."
The archer cursed back, pulled up his longbow again, and stared closely at the overturned basket.
As expected, just like in many horror games or movies, the red-eyed elf with pale hands clinging to the edge of the basket and a long arrow stuck in his head seemed to be controlled by some invisible silk thread, violating the laws of biology and holding himself up alive.
Looking at the players with serious faces, the elf grinned and pointed to his neck which was covered with plant bacteria. Then he gave a thumbs up to the players, then turned around and taunted them to the utmost.
"As expected, these monsters can only be killed by chopping off their heads or directly removing their organs..."
No wonder they were all corpses with their heads and limbs chopped off.
Completely ignoring the monster's ridicule, Kuang Shao nodded, raised his shield and moved towards the anchor who was filming.
The green arrow hit the shield in an instant, as if it was intercepted by countless layers of networks. The magic power like water waves gradually spread out, slowly absorbing the impact of the arrow into the calm blue lake.
The RPG would be pierced directly by the archers, but the fast arrows would be intercepted by the madman. The red-eyed elf in the distance looked at the players who were waiting for battle and smiled silently, slowly drew out the two crescent-shaped scimitars at his waist, and disappeared silently in the dark red storm of nightmare.
"Be careful! Thieves, be careful to sprinkle the revealing powder. The corpse will have the ability to go past, so be careful!"
Looking at the cable swaying in the strong wind, the captain immediately judged that the corpse was most likely diving along the cable.
Theoretically, you should be able to get rid of this monster by simply cutting the cable, but if you cut the cable at random, it is easy to get stuck or lose your map position. So the captain can only bite the bullet and look at the swaying cable, estimating where the invisible elf is.
Looking at the rope swinging in the air, the captain estimated the time and suddenly slashed the air with a knife.
A layer of cold wind passed across the captain's forehead. The elf, whose figure was exposed due to the large amplitude, looked at this seemingly stupid shield warrior in doubt and surprise. He twisted his body subconsciously, preparing to become translucent again.
But how could the player let this monster do what it wanted? There was no need to even communicate. The thief immediately sprinkled a bag of fluorescent powder on the gradually disappearing elf. The golden light directly traced the elf's figure. The archer immediately shot an arrow at the elf's head, which was a little dazed, and once again knocked him back, revealing a slightly angry expression.
“——!”
Crouching low, he seemed to be roaring angrily at several players. The scimitar in the elf's hand gradually began to buzz, and as if resisting gravity, he moved in a strange arc towards the archer who had been harassing him.
However, the sense of crisis coming from behind made the monster give up the attack. He quickly turned around and swung his scimitar to block the thief's attack. With his other hand, he supported the captain's shield and dodged in the narrow space like floating catkins. He landed directly behind the captain, shook his wrist with a knife flower, and slid to the captain's back.
"I'm waiting for you!"
Watching the elf's movements, the captain's eyes flashed with a cold light, and he keenly judged the image of the elf monster. The water-like magic power spun him like a gyroscope. He turned around in zero time and directly used the heavy shield to support the scimitar.
"You've got the wrong guy to fight me!"
The captain roared in a low voice at the elf monster with red eyes, and then he raised his shield and hit the elf's thin body fiercely. Dozens of blue waves overlapped and piled up, and the power suddenly surged, instantly pushing him up and throwing him heavily to the ground.
If it was a normal creature, this shield attack would be enough to dislocate its internal organs and completely lose its ability to resist. However, the elf who had turned into a zombie was still struggling with the scimitar in his hand, looking at these players with a ferocious face, silently opening his mouth, as if he was going to roar and kill them. But before he could move, his head was cut off by the thief who had been waiting for a long time.
The players, who had already had a tacit understanding, sandwiched the elf in the middle, and the thief easily cut off the elf's head with his enchanted broken sword. The corpse, which was originally still alive and kicking, suddenly fell to the ground as if it had lost its energy. Only the bald head stared at the players fiercely, revealing a regretful expression before closing its eyes. Until the head was smashed to pieces by the cautious captain with a large shield, there was no sound at all.
“…killed?”
"Done it."
“It feels like it’s even harder to fight than last time.”
Looking at the lifeless body, several people frowned and poked the elf's corpse.
The enchanted mail he was wearing, the two scimitars in the elf's hand, and the bow and arrow that was obviously valuable were quickly collected by the players and put in the player space. The bare body was burned clean by the anchor team member who had been watching the fun. On the surface, he was a shield warrior, but in fact he was a mage off-tank. But using magic in this environment was a death wish, so he could only shout six six six, hoping that his off-tank was still useful.
"They must have escaped because of this world change, right? There can't be too many people. Let's go back to the original place and wait. Then we can get the second seal directly without any big problems."
Recalling the elves' terrifying gymnastic moves and techniques, the captain shook his head grimly.
"The difficulty of this mission is indeed a bit high. It's hard to even curry favor with others. It feels a bit difficult to avenge my brothers."
"It's not like you guys lie down and I'm the one who's going to do it. That's enough."
"If you come one by one, just treat it as a monster spawn."
The group did not have any heavy psychological burden, and they chatted and laughed as they walked to the lower end sealed by the Nightmare Organization.
The limp flesh and blood quickly dissolved and collapsed, revealing the appearance of the second seal area inside. Looking at the seal imprint area hidden in the darkness in the distance, many players used their skills to look around the surrounding scene.
Then they fell silent.
"...Big Boss, help me."
I can't handle this number of people. How did you kill them?
Looking at the Red-Eyed Army that gradually emerged from the storm and darkness, and the traces of fatal wounds and slaughter left all over the monsters, several players looked at each other and smiled bitterly.
