Volume 6: Job Change Chapter 2: Warrior's Job Change Mission (Part 2)

The man was wearing a solid copper armor, with a purple short cape fluttering in the wind. He carried a two-handed sword with a bronze blade on his back, and his steps were firm and powerful. Like me, he was also a warrior, but the difference was that he was shorter and more sturdy. Although the helmet covered his face, it could not hide his long golden beard tied into a small braid. There was no doubt that he was a dwarf warrior. On his head was the name of his soul: Exaggerated Crying. Compared with his rough and heroic appearance, this name was sad and mournful, which seemed very inconsistent.
The unexpected appearance of this dwarf warrior disrupted my action plan. I was afraid that he would rashly delay my business, but I was also very curious about his purpose of coming here. So I lurked in the place, equipped with a "telescope" I made by myself, and quietly observed his actions.
The dwarf warrior moved unexpectedly cautiously. He stuck close to the trees on the roadside, staring intently at the troll sentry closest to him, and slowly moved forward. When he was closest to the troll sentry, a "dirty axe headchopper" in the sentry turned towards him. He thought his action had alarmed the sentry, so he immediately retracted his right foot as quickly as a cat and turned behind the big tree next to him. However, it was just a false alarm . After a moment, the "dirty axe headchopper" turned back again, he breathed a sigh of relief, went around the tree again, and carefully passed the troll sentry.
The success of passing through the first sentry post strengthened his carefulness. The dwarf warrior named "Exaggerated Cry" skillfully touched the second sentry post and soon successfully passed through it in the same way. It seems that he should have made the same observations and thoughts as me and came to the same conclusion. Even the way he chose to enter the village ruins was exactly the same as I imagined, but it happened that we were in completely opposite directions.
Seeing him successfully pass the last checkpoint, I felt much more at ease - at least, he proved that my idea was correct. As long as I carefully kept my distance, I could sneak into the village without alerting a single troll.
Just as he was about to approach the temple, a patrol consisting of two tainted axe warriors came out from the alley on the right. He immediately shrank his neck alertly and turned back to his original position. When the two patrols met in front of the temple gate and then turned to the back of the temple, the dwarf warrior immediately exerted force with both feet and rushed to the pocket-sized temple in the center of the village with all his strength. The dwarf's running posture was really not graceful. His two short legs were originally thick and heavy, and his body was short and fat. His long hair and beard kept flying in front of his face, so he had to stretch out one hand to grab his eyebrows and beard to avoid being blocked by them. When he ran, it felt like a huge meat ball with golden hair rolling on the ground. In addition, a pair of combat boots inlaid with metal plates made a "clang clang" sound with every step. I was simply surprised that the trolls seemed to have grown two long, pointed ears for nothing, but they turned a deaf ear to such obvious sounds and just let him approach the temple.
The mobile sentry left the temple gate long enough for Exaggerated Weeping to run into the temple. I began to feel that something was wrong - his target seemed to be the same as mine, the flag of the Dirty Axe Troll Tribe.
As soon as I stepped into the temple, a small fireball suddenly hit me and exploded on the dwarf warrior's chest armor. This time the attack was not serious, only costing him 15 points of life. Then, a "dirty axe caller" rushed out from the corner with his back to me. He waved a heavy wooden stick, stood about five steps away from the exaggerated crying, chanted a spell, and quickly gathered a flash of lightning in his hand. A totem pole with a mysterious shape was inserted next to him, and it was once again releasing a small fireball at the dwarf warrior.
This "Flame Fissure Totem" is the lowest level of the various fire attribute attack totem spells, which can release simple "fire bomb" magic from the totem pole for a period of time. Against low-level enemies, this totem is a very effective aid, but for opponents of higher levels, the relatively small fire bomb can only play a harassing role at most.
Because I had been hiding behind the wall facing away from me, I had not noticed that there was an enemy hiding in the temple. Fortunately, Exaggerated Crying rushed into the temple before me and drew out the Dirty Axe Revenant who was guarding the temple. If I had rushed in alone, I would have had to deal with this unexpected enemy.
The dwarf warrior was not in a hurry after being attacked suddenly. He ignored the weak killing effect of the Flame Crack Totem and rushed straight towards the "Dirty Axe Revenant" who was casting an attack spell. He didn't even draw his sword, but punched the troll's long face with his backhand. Just before the spell was cast, the dwarf warrior suddenly jumped up, tried to shake his neck and raised his head to make a brave charge towards the long green face of the Dirty Axe Revenant. His hard helmet happened to hit the troll's chin heavily - of course, this was the only place on the tall troll's face that he could hit - and just interrupted the troll's spell.
This move is called "Headbutt", which is a very effective skill for warriors to deal with spellcasters. Although it causes little damage, it also consumes only five points of fighting spirit, and can interrupt the opponent's spellcasting in battle and gain the upper hand for yourself. When facing an opponent with a spellcasting profession, this is simply a skill that is too cost-effective. The only regret is that the cooldown time of this skill is a little long, and it always brings some side effects of headache after using it.
After interrupting the Dirty Axe Revenant's spell, Exaggerated Cry immediately turned around and took out his long sword from his back. Although most dwarven warriors use rough and heavy hammers or axes as their weapons to show their courage and strength, this two-handed sword does not show the slightest fragility in the hands of this dwarf warrior. To be honest, if this thing is not bladed on both sides, I would rather think of it as a giant axe. The length of this two-handed sword is about the same as the height of this dwarf warrior. In my opinion, I am afraid that this sword is even longer. The thickest part of the blade is almost thicker than two palms stacked together. I think even if it is not used for chopping, just using the sword body to hit hard horizontally, this weapon is already deadly enough.
With just two strikes, the Flame Crack Totem was chopped down by the dwarf warrior. At this moment, the Dirty Axe Requiem finally summoned a bright and sharp arc of lightning, which staggered Exaggerated Weeping. However, this was the only time he released a spell that was truly threatening to the dwarf warrior. Afterwards, Exaggerated Weeping swung his heavy sword and completely suppressed the tattered Dirty Axe Requiem with a fierce attack like a storm. Except for some simple spells that could be cast instantly, the Dirty Axe Requiem never cast a decent offensive magic. He also tried hard to use the simple long wooden stick in his hand to fight with his opponent, but no matter how hard the troll spellcaster in cloth armor fought, he had no chance in front of the dwarf warrior who held a giant sword and used brave close combat skills as a means of survival. Not long after, the Dirty Axe Requiem's life had reached its final limit. It was only now that this evil and ugly guy felt the most fear of death and rushed out of the temple with a terrified face.
The skilled dwarf warrior did not give him a chance to escape. He jumped forward and chopped down with his heavy sword from top to bottom, immediately knocking the unfortunate dirty axe necrophile to the ground. The troll's soul turned into a white light and instantly became a soul tonic that enhanced the opponent's strength.
At the same time, two mobile troll sentries had just come out from behind the temple, and no one noticed anything unusual in the temple.
Seeing the exaggerated crying reaching out to the flag of the Dirty Axe Troll without any hindrance, I felt a little depressed. If I had come earlier, this flag should have belonged to me. Now that this guy has taken the lead, I don't know if I still have a chance to save this mission, and I don't know if my job transfer process will be affected.
Just when I was secretly regretting and feeling anxious, I cried exaggeratedly without hesitation and grabbed the flag tightly, and pulled it up suddenly...
A green magic flame shot up into the sky, and then scattered with a huge explosion. Under the reflection of the green flame, I saw the dwarf warrior's face turned a bleak green, and he looked around in panic.
It seemed that all the trolls in the village saw this magical flame...
