Volume 5: The Cataclysm Chapter 68 Revelation
Xuling Town is a very famous place.
Even in the Abyss, this place is one of the nightmare places for many demons. Even many great demon lords have approached here, but were scared away by the horrific aura here.
People say that a real devil lives here.
However, Marvin now knows that what is hidden inside is not some terrifying demon, but a page of the Book of Naaru with its own consciousness!
It is said that anyone who approaches this town will be attracted by a strange force and eventually arrive at a horrible place.
That's Ghost Street.
No one has ever described what Haunted Street is like, because no one or any demon has ever returned alive.
When Marvin walked into the town, he was hit by an icy chill, as if he was in an extremely cold purgatory.
The whole town was empty.
Deep in the town, there were occasional wailing sounds!
Marvin sensed that many of his skills seemed to be restricted, including the Endless Road.
His perception was also limited to a distance of about one hundred meters.
He followed the wailing sound deeper into the ground, and finally, at the corner of the street, he saw a demon!
He was tearing his chest madly !
Marvin looked closely and saw a face on the demon's chest smiling evilly.
And that face was exactly the same as that of the devil himself!
"Illusion?" Marvin frowned. Although he had lost the system and did not have the most accurate data feedback.
However, as he possesses the Dark Night Ring and the advanced virtual godhood, he already has judgments that are almost as accurate as those of an intelligent computer.
This doesn't seem to be an illusion.
This demon seemed to have been recently attracted in. He seemed to have lost all consciousness and could only struggle frantically.
His struggle ultimately killed himself.
Before dying, the demon seemed to see Marvin and stared at him with a look of great hatred.
For a moment, Marvin seemed to be possessed by something.
He couldn't help but look down.
But suddenly, a face exactly like his own appeared on his chest and grinned at him!
"It's just a trifle."
Marvin sneered. His will had already been strong enough that this level of confusion would not work at all!
What's more, this is the charm from the Book of Naaru!
The Book of Wisdom in his body automatically activated, and the human face was automatically digested by the silver-white light bursting out from the Book of Wisdom amidst a scream.
No, rather than digestion, it seems more appropriate to say it is fusion.
After Marvin learned from the Lord of Earth Element that the God of Wisdom and the God of Fraud were actually the same person, he became more concerned about the connection between the Book of Naaru and the Book of Wisdom.
Just from this detail, we can see that the power of these two things comes from the same source.
But why would the God of Wisdom do this?
Obviously, what is reflected in the Book of Naaru proves that the God of Wisdom is on Lance's side.
This gave Marvin a headache.
Either the God of truth or the God of wisdom, one of them must be wrong.
Who should I trust?
…
As Marvin continued to go deeper into the town, he saw too many demons along the way.
Some are entities, probably cannon fodder demons summoned here by some force; most of them are phantoms.
All of these people were fighting with themselves, some were committing suicide, and some were fighting with strange creatures that looked exactly like themselves, and were eventually killed.
Their souls are imprisoned here, repeating the same actions day and night, which is creepy to watch.
Even though Marvin was knowledgeable and experienced, he was still shocked to see so many demons facing such painful torture.
The Book of Naaru is indeed the most elusive thing in the world. It is hard to imagine that this artifact with a bad reputation actually came from the hands of the God of Wisdom who is known for his kindness.
He moved forward, and with the Book of Wisdom protecting him, these demons posed no threat to him at all.
Finally, he saw a figure in the very center of the town, at the end of Ghost Street.
This figure is different from others. First of all, he is not a demon, but a human being.
Second, he is a living being.
In Marvin's perception, he is the only one in the entire town who truly still has his own life; the other demons are just puppets controlled by some unknown force.
The place where he was located actually looked like a small town square.
There was a cross in front of him. He was kneeling under the cross, holding a book in his hand, and chanting something softly.
Marvin walked over slowly.
It was indeed a human being, and a handsome one at that.
Judging from his clothes and appearance, he seemed to be a priest or a pastor.
"I didn't expect that there are people who can walk through the Ghost Street of their own volition."
The man stopped chanting and looked up at Marvin: "Can you take me away?"
Marvin asked warily, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
"This is a nightmare land. Only those with strong faith can survive."
The man said solemnly, "I was entrusted with a mission by my Lord, but was accidentally locked up here. Fortunately, I have this Book of Revelation accompanying me day and night, otherwise I would probably be controlled by the unknown forces in this town just like those demons."
"Revelation?" Marvin narrowed his eyes slightly.
The man nodded and said, "I come from the Norvison plane. I am here to redeem the souls of these demons under the command of our Lord, the God of Wisdom. Unfortunately, a disaster many years ago turned this town into a place where evil spirits live, and I am trapped here because I don't have enough strength to escape. This Revelation was given by our Lord himself, so I'm sorry that I can't show it to you in detail."
"You were able to come in alone and were not controlled by the evil ghost. This proves that you are very powerful. Can you help me?"
"I will repay you to the best of my ability."
The man's tone was sincere.
Marvin took a step forward.
The next second, he drew his sword, and the Blade of Sodom suddenly chopped off the man's head!
There was no blood, only a piece of paper floating in the wind.
Marvin flipped his hands, and the Book of Naaru and the Book of Wisdom appeared at the same time!
The man's body was suddenly absorbed into it strangely!
In an instant, the strange power that enveloped the entire town disappeared!
Marvin gently stroked the newly appeared page of the Book of Naaru and smiled with ease:
"I didn't expect that spirituality has reached this level..."
"Unfortunately, there are still many loopholes; at the very least, the words 'Apocalypse' shouldn't appear in the lines."
"After all, I know the name on the fourth page of the Book of Naaru."
But in the Book of Naaru, which was only two pages away from being complete, the fourth page has been put in place.
[Revelation].
It depicts a man kneeling under a cross, very lifelike.
