Volume 5: Seven Dao Sects Chapter 4: Discussion on Chang'an
There was a huge mountain tens of thousands of feet high, with purple mist and clouds rising above it, and in the middle of it stood a magnificent city.
Amidst the misty clouds, this huge city seems to be located in the sky.
There is a huge white jade staircase that leads from the foot of the mountain to the magnificent city on the top of the mountain.
The white jade steps are glittering, filled with fairy mist and hazy light and fog.
The giant city is even more magnificent and majestic, so huge that it is boundless.
On top of the tall city gate that reaches into the sky and shines with silver light, there are two ancient characters engraved in a style of flying dragons and phoenixes. Holy light flows on them, and mist is diffused, with a faint sense of extremely mysterious Taoism flowing out from them.
Those two words are "Chang'an".
This is the most magnificent city of the human race, the imperial capital of Daxia.
Chang'an City.
It stands high above the nine heavens, overlooking all living beings and the vast mountains and rivers. It has an unprecedented spirit and grand attitude.
Chang'an is the name of the imperial capital chosen by Xia Daozu himself, who saved the human race from collapse.
The reign title of Chang'an was also determined by Daozu.
It is also because of the existence of Xia Daozu that the human race has been able to spend 20,000 years of Chang'an.
At this time, in the spacious and bright hall of the Chang'an City Palace.
The hall is magnificent and majestic. Thirty-six jade pillars stand in the hall, carved with terrifying mysterious runes.
There are faint Taoist patterns emerging all around, ready to emerge and suppress the void at any time.
There is also a lingering fragrance that makes people feel refreshed and drives away the evil spirits.
There are already six monks standing in the hall. Some have their eyes closed to rest, while others remain silent. However, the aura emanating from these six monks is deep and terrifying.
Not long after, a white-haired old man in green Taoist robes walked out from the side hall with his hands behind his back.
His face was old and full of wrinkles, but his eyes revealed a divine light that seemed to see through everything.
"Master of Tianji Temple."
The six monks in the hall straightened their expressions and spoke respectfully when they saw the old man.
Because the old man in front of him is the current abbot of Tianji Temple of Taoist Sect and the National Master of Daxia.
"Everyone, this time I called you here because of Your Majesty's intention. You should all know this, right?"
"I know, but I don't know what Your Excellency is doing?" A middle-aged man in a dark purple robe asked, "It's so big that we need to summon the leaders of the seven major sects at the same time, and you, the temple master, are here in person."
The eyes of this middle-aged man were full of majesty. There was a hidden aura rising from his body, as deep and terrifying as an abyss, and it emitted a low rumbling sound.
He is the deputy palace master of Taiqing Palace.
"Over at Tianhe City, Chu Jianxian sent news," Tianji Temple Master said word by word, "The demons have started to move."
The six leading monks from Dao Sect all changed their expressions slightly when they heard this.
At their level, the only thing that can move them is this kind of earth-shattering event.
"Two years ago, when the previous abbot of this temple passed away, I think you all still remember the words he left behind, right?" The abbot of Tianji Temple looked more solemn than ever before.
"The abyss is coming..." said the deputy palace master of Taiqing Palace in a deep voice.
The head of Tianji Temple nodded, with an indescribable meaning flashing in his eyes, "The current situation is just as this prophecy shows. Since entering the Tianyuan Year, in just two short years, the seven regions of the human race have all been affected by the shadow of the underworld. And in Tianhe City, under the pressure of the power of Daozu, the demons who have been dormant for 20,000 years have finally begun to stir."
"You should all understand the meaning of the simultaneous attack from both inside and outside."
The atmosphere on the field became more and more solemn as the master of Tianji Temple spoke.
"Daozu, what is going on? Why has he never appeared in 20,000 years? Could it be that Daozu... has fallen?" The one who asked the question was a middle-aged male cultivator wearing a purple-gold robe and with a head full of silver hair.
Although he looks like a middle-aged man, his skin is as smooth and white as a baby's, which is weird.
He is one of the three great masters of Huanling Sect, Master Chang Geng.
“I don’t know either.” The head of Tianji Temple shook his head and said, “Only Your Excellency knows the situation of the Taoist master.”
After a pause, the master of Tianji Temple affirmed: "However, with the realm of Daozu, if he were to die, the celestial phenomenon of his Dao's death would be unprecedented and spread throughout the world. It is impossible that there would be no signs, so Daozu must not have died yet."
Upon hearing this, the leader of Huanling Sect did not ask any more questions.
Seeing that no one said anything more, the head of Tianji Temple continued, "Even if they are afraid of Daozu, the demons have been patient for 20,000 years. This war is unavoidable. According to the calculations of our previous head of Tianji Temple, this war will break out within a thousand years."
The master of Tianji Temple swept his deep gaze over the faces of the six Daoist monks, "Our seven major Daoist sects are the most powerful sects of the human race. Our heritage originated from ancient times. There are countless strong people in the sect, each dominating a region, and no one can defeat them."
"When the sky falls, it will naturally be held up by the tall ones. In this battle with the Abyss Demon Clan, our seven major sects and Daxia will be the backbone of the human race."
The master of Tianji Temple spoke in a vicissitudes voice, "But this is not enough! You must not forget that in the great war 20,000 years ago, the human race, led by the seven major Taoist sects, was completely defeated by the demons. If it weren't for Daozu Xia's rise against the will of heaven, our human race would probably have ceased to exist in 20,000 years!"
The words of the master of Tianji Temple hit everyone's heart like a huge rock.
As one of the seven most powerful Taoist sects of the human race, they did not take on the role of protecting the human race in the first war against the demons. Instead, it was Daozu Xia, who came from a casual cultivator, who saved the human race. This can be considered a shame for the Taoist sect.
"Similarly, even though we have gathered and trained countless geniuses in the seven major sects and have become the leaders of the younger generation, we all understand that the human race's territory is so vast that there may be cultivators with the stature of Daozu Xia who are beyond our sight." The master of Tianji Temple said in a distant tone, "Before his death, the previous master looked at the Tianji Mirror. He looked into the distance at the future thousand years of the human race and saw the stars representing the human race's geniuses shining brightly, like a star rain."
"Xia Daozu was able to rise up against the odds, but he is only an exception after all. We cannot allow the next Xia Daozu to grow up in such a barbaric way. There are definitely many geniuses in the human race who have been buried due to inheritance and resource issues! Xia Daozu, if he had the support of our Dao Sect back then, I think he would not have made it to that final step... So for the human race's geniuses, especially these young cultivators who are very likely to become the backbone of our human race and the demon race in the second war, or even the key to victory or defeat."
The master of Tianji Temple had a deep gaze, and his tone revealed an unquestionable meaning: "We must spare no effort to cultivate and help it grow!"
"So, Your Majesty's intention is to ask our seven great Daoist sects to abandon their conservative ideas and open the door to all outstanding young cultivators in the world!"
