Volume 4: The Sea and the Ship Heading North Chapter 234 Difficult
The smile on Voldemort's face gradually faded.
He looked at Dumbledore, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
"I certainly don't think I'm truly invincible, Dumbledore, but now that you're here, you won't have the same chance tonight as you did in the tower of Hogwarts Castle."
He didn't know when a magic wand appeared in his hand. In the room, an inexplicable wave was shaking. The window that reflected the fire had cracks like spider webs.
Dumbledore still had that smile on his face as he spoke slowly.
"Some things, even if you have already made up your mind, you should not say them in a certain tone, Riddle. This world is very strange, so strange that almost no one really understands it."
Voldemort didn't want to continue talking nonsense.
He had been planning and waiting for Dumbledore to appear in front of him at this time for a long time. He didn't think anything would go wrong, nor did he think there was anyone who could make this mistake happen.
Wisps of black mist rose around him. He stood up, and the chair under him slowly melted like ice. The rising black mist surged around him. The power was so huge that it seemed to make the entire fortress begin to wail!
"You have no idea about the true end of magic, Dumbledore. What is the essence of magic? What is the essence of magic? What is the essence of this world? What is a wizard? You haven't even reached my level. What qualifications do you have to teach me?"
“Bang!”
The windows around the room were all shattered, and strong winds flew into the originally warm house. The fire in the fireplace was swaying violently, and Dumbledore's white robe and Voldemort's black robe were all blown around.
Dumbledore looked at Voldemort's face, sighed softly, and held his wand upright in front of him.
"You have been blinded by an unknown force. Before you see magic, the world, and other people clearly, have you ever seen yourself clearly?"
“That’s enough!”
The man in the wildly dancing black robe said in a cold voice. He was already floating in the air, with thick black fog rising under his feet.
"There's no point in talking any more. There are better ways to prove who is right !"
A crimson flame lit up from the tip of Dumbledore's wand, and the joyful flame jumped like a twinkling star in the cold wind!
Black and red are like two opposing waves, confronting and melting at the junction.
Dumbledore waved the tip of his wand gently, and the next moment, the whole room was like plasticine that could be kneaded and shaped at will, changing into any shape he wanted.
The room that originally belonged to Voldemort seemed to be out of his control, but he did not take any countermeasures. The rising black mist directly blew up the roof, and then carried its owner into the sky!
"Avada Kedavra!"
The unsolved death curse swept from the sky to where Dumbledore was standing.
Dumbledore did not hide. A table automatically extended from his side and blocked his way.
The effect of the Killing Curse itself was blocked, but the power of the spell itself blew the table into pieces, and fine wood chips flew all over the sky, and then were picked up by the cold wind and drifted away.
"Transfiguration, is this the skill you have always been proud of? The power to change the form of matter is indeed a very useful skill, but do you remember how I broke it ten years ago?"
A cold voice came from high in the sky. The black fog seemed endless, and together with the dark clouds, it blocked the sky and covered Dumbledore's head.
That power that could not be described in words was enough to completely suppress the wizards fighting in the correctional facility and make it impossible for them to breathe.
Even Dumbledore felt the real pressure.
He understood why Voldemort was so confident that by luring him here, his plan would be a success.
Voldemort's current state has reached its peak, even stronger than he was in the battle in the Astronomy Tower of Hogwarts Castle.
This is not just growth over time, but he is adapting to a gradual process.
Dumbledore clenched the wand in his hand. Ever since he experienced that failure, he rarely used the Elder Wand, especially when facing Voldemort.
But in fact, at the beginning, when he chose to come here, he never thought that he could defeat this dark devil head-on.
Voldemort was not a fool. He tried every means to lure Dumbledore and his men to this fortress. He certainly would not choose to prepare when he was in a bad condition. He must have been certain before he started planning all this.
Dumbledore's only goal now is to divert Voldemort's full attention and buy time for the wizards on the wizarding horizon below.
As long as they successfully rescued the Muggle wizards in the correctional facility, the original goal would be achieved. After completing the escort mission, he would find a chance to escape and completely put an end to tonight's plan.
But Voldemort obviously saw what Dumbledore was thinking, and he had only one goal.
That was to leave Dumbledore behind, in front of everyone present.
Kill him!
This was a great opportunity he had been planning for a long time, and it was also a rare chance.
Therefore, at the very beginning of the battle, he did not hold back at all, and tried to completely resolve this biggest problem that remained to him in the magic world in the shortest possible time.
Dumbledore was under tremendous pressure. During his nearly ten years of contact with Voldemort, he understood the ups and downs of Voldemort's state.
When he was at his worst, Dumbledore felt that he could defeat him easily, and when he was at his best, he was so powerful that it was as if Voldemort had two of himself superimposed on each other. He could be said to be invincible in the wizarding world.
At the beginning of the year, the Voldemort that Dumbledore met in the British Ministry of Magic was obviously in a depressed state. This is why, even though the two of them did not fight at all, Dumbledore had the absolute advantage in the end, providing the basis for helping John sneak into Hogwarts Castle and the escape plan of Azkaban.
But now it was completely different. The thick black fog seemed endless, causing Dumbledore, who could only passively defend under Voldemort's attack, to frown more and more.
The battle tonight might be more difficult than he originally expected!
