Volume 4: The Sea and the Ship Heading North Chapter 233 The Smartest Student
At the moment the sparks exploded under the dark clouds, a shrill whistle sounded in all directions.
The first to be attacked were the Aurors on guard in the sky. The members of the Wizarding Line who used the Disillusionment Charm to hide in the surroundings began to clear out these sentry posts outside the fortress point by point.
There was no warning for their sudden attack, and almost no Auror had time to react. Almost everyone was hit by several spells in a row at the same second.
The Shield Charm was shattered by the first spell it came into contact with, and then the spell that was truly effective hit the Aurors. At the same time, dozens of figures in the sky fell like kites with broken strings!
Even if there were a few who managed to dodge these spell attacks by relying on extremely fast reactions and superb flying skills, they would not be able to resist the next round of attacks that would come like a raindrop.
The first phase of the offensive on the Wuping Line had a significant effect. The nails guarding outside were removed, and only then could they proceed with the next plan with peace of mind.
But before they could actually storm into that fortress, they needed someone to do a job for them that only he could do.
The old man with silver hair, crescent-shaped glasses and a white robe walked to the main gate of the fortress in a dignified manner.
No one heard the sound of his spell, all everyone saw was him gently waving the magic wand in his hand, and the next second, flames filled the sky and illuminated half of the sky!
The flames ignited the dark clouds in the sky and made the air tremble.
Then, a sound like breaking glass suddenly rang out, and the iron armor spell that originally wrapped around the fortress collapsed!
As the number one squadron in the stormtroopers, Lupin naturally led his men to follow closely behind Dumbledore.
He raised the magic wand in his hand and sounded the first horn to start the war!
“For freedom!!!”
That gentle face that always looked like a good guy to everyone now let out a roar like a wolf's howl.
His roar was like a flame thrown into dry wood, instantly igniting a huge fire.
The voices of wizards, witches, the old, the slightly childish, and the full-bodied, countless voices mixed together yet blended together in an incredibly unified way.
“For freedom!!!”
The sound was like a sharp sword that could not be sheathed piercing through the dark clouds, and it was accompanied by an unprecedented explosion!
Nearly a hundred explosive spells were fired at the gate at the same time. The iron gate was shattered by the huge impact force in an instant, and flew into the corridor inside the fortress!
Lupin led his team in the front, and they roared and attacked the restraining cage.
Around them, people kept pouring in, Sirius, Lily, McGonagall, Flitwick, Hagrid, Kingsley, Tonks, Moody...
There are familiar faces, but most of them are strangers. However, at this moment, all of them have the same goal, which is to vent their anger and excitement towards this prison established in the name of discipline!
The French and British Aurors in the correctional facility reacted very quickly. They were on martial law at all times, and the number of garrison personnel was no less than that of the invading members of the Wizarding Front.
They had already organized defense on the first floor as soon as Dumbledore broke through the outermost armor spell, and now they were standing in front of all the wizards on the wizarding horizon!
No one communicated at all. The first second the two sides met, it was like water and fire that would never blend together, and a violent collision broke out!
The dazzling light of the spell illuminated the castle like day!
Countless people fell at the beginning of this war, and countless more filled their place from behind.
Outside the fortress, the second-tier members of the Wu Ping Line took off into the air on their flying brooms!
The general offensive on the first floor is continuing, but they certainly will not rely solely on this as the avenue of attack.
Countless people were charging forward, but only Dumbledore stopped in front of the fortress gate. He did not follow the crowd into the correctional facility, but looked up at the top floor.
There was only one room, with bright light shining from inside.
There was a man standing in front of the window. There was no anger, gloominess or even indifference on his face. There was only a smile on his handsome face.
Dumbledore was looking up at him, and he was looking down at Dumbledore.
The black eyes and the bright blue eyes looked at each other. There was no dialogue, nor the need for any verbal communication.
The next moment, the fire lit up and Dumbledore appeared in Voldemort's office.
The fire in the fireplace was burning brightly, making the room warm. The soundproofing effect was exceptionally good, and even a violent explosion like that seemed to have no effect at all.
It's as if the inside and outside of the room are two different worlds.
After seeing Dumbledore, Voldemort sat down leisurely on the chair. He leaned lazily against the back of the chair and looked at the old man with a playful look in his eyes.
"I guess you must have tried every possible way to stop them, but you are still not as good as me, Albus. They will not listen to you wholeheartedly."
Dumbledore looked calmly at the man sitting on the chair, and spoke softly, his voice seemingly without any other emotions.
"You guessed right, Riddle. I tried to stop them, but failed. But in the past two days, I have come to the conclusion that this is something they are willing to do, something they would rather die than regret. I have no reason and should not stop them. Besides, will we definitely lose?"
Voldemort crossed his fingers and squinted at Dumbledore's old face.
"Do you think I really care that much about the battle below? Professor Dumbledore?"
"Compared to you, even if all the wizards in France died, what would that mean?"
Dumbledore slowly raised his wand.
"Do you think you've already won when I came here to face you?"
Voldemort suddenly laughed out loud.
"What else can you do? Albus Dumbledore? What else can you rely on? Let me guess again?"
He drawled.
"Who did you send to do those little tricks in the ocean? The loser who is closest to you and has even had to give up his own surname? Yes, he is the only one you can trust the most, and he is the only one who has such ability!"
Hearing Voldemort's sarcastic remarks, Dumbledore not only did not show any anger on his face, but he even smiled .
"You have always been my smartest student , Riddle."
