Volume 4: People who challenge the light Chapter 14: Valley of the Wind
With another round of violent explosions, three of the five dark knights I led had died. I don't know if Skynet deliberately concealed the risks of crossing the "free territory" from me or if I was particularly unlucky. The road was full of dangers. Although I tried my best to restrain and constrain my subordinates from provoking ghosts, exploding zombies, two-headed skeleton ghosts and other strange undead creatures, in the face of their active provocation, as long as I was a little careless and relaxed control, the dark knights would instinctively resist spontaneously. If they were unlucky, they would be besieged by more undead creatures. In order not to cause greater chaos, I dared not step forward to rescue them, and could only watch them die under the siege of many undead creatures. Fortunately, the three corpse kings who were relied on as the main force of the "Yinfeng Valley" battle were also suppressed by my identity as the first corpse king. They behaved more docilely than the dark knights and did not cause me trouble. If even they encountered any accidents, the battle of "Yinfeng Valley" would be even more uncertain.
Among these warlike undead creatures, the most dangerous and the one that scares me the most is the exploding zombie. It looks similar to an ordinary zombie, the only difference is that it has a more prominent belly and looks a bit stronger. However, this kind of guy is even more incompetent than a zombie, and is simply a lunatic. Not to mention the large number of them, they can be seen everywhere in the entire "free territory". They also have an extremely strong tendency to self-destruct, and they don't care whether there are other undead creatures or the same kind around them. They explode at any time. The moment before, it was still wandering around slowly, and the next moment it might suddenly stop or accelerate forward - although it is usually slow and clumsy, the speed of this pounce is quite agile, almost a few points faster than my normal speed, and it can pounce to a place more than ten meters away, and then its body flashes a few green lights, and with a bang, it explodes and the whole body explodes into pieces, with a strong lethality. The third Dark Knight who died was because he provoked one inadvertently. While I was paying attention to avoiding several Exploding Zombies that were too close and relaxing my control, I instinctively attacked an Exploding Zombie that was approaching me. This time I really touched a hornet's nest. The nearby Exploding Zombies heard the news and came over. I was bombarded by more than 20 Exploding Zombies in succession. I dodged left and right but couldn't escape the suicidal attack. First, the skeleton horse under me couldn't bear it and died first. The Dark Knight who lost his mount was even more unable to fight back, and soon followed suit. It was really an unnecessary death!
These exploding zombies are not spontaneously evolved like ordinary zombies. From the "Encyclopedia of Undead Creatures", we know that they are actually a kind of undead creatures that are "manufactured". The creatures that produce them are called "corpse mothers". They are attached to the ground and vary in size. The small one is only a few square meters, and the large one is said to be able to reach dozens or hundreds of square meters. From the surface, it looks like a non-living existence, more like a sludge pool. The exploding zombies crawl out of the sludge pool one by one, and then begin to wander aimlessly until the final destruction. As I gradually go deeper, I move forward along the chosen path. I was "lucky" to meet several "corpse mothers" along the way. Because I couldn't suppress my curiosity for a while, I quietly walked up to witness their "beauty" up close and witnessed "how the exploding zombies were born". Of course, such an adventurous move was also "warmly welcomed" by the exploding zombies, showing "extreme enthusiasm", which really made me feel overwhelmed. If I hadn't reacted quickly enough and used "a horse away from the dust" and "phantom" to dodge in time, I'm afraid it would be difficult to get away safely.
Of course, I am not the kind of person who likes unnecessary adventures. This action is mainly because I am interested in the "Corpse Mother". In theory, as long as I am strong enough, I can use the "Soul Contract" to subdue all undead creatures, including the most powerful ghost dragon. Although the "Corpse Mother" looks strange, it is also a kind of undead creature and should be able to sign a "Soul Contract" with me. It can mass-produce explosive zombies. If it can be summoned to the human world and create a large group of explosive zombies in battle, it should be a great threat to melee professions, especially in a battle where the few are against the many, the continuous emergence of explosive zombies, how much help can it provide!
The Exploding Zombies can also sign a "Soul Contract" themselves, but it is more dangerous and inefficient to subdue them one by one like ordinary zombies. Often when they become my subordinates, they have already started the self-destruction program when they are attacked. Not only can they not be stopped from self-destruction, but they must also quickly dodge to avoid being affected by the explosion. It is a futile effort. However, the "Corpse Mother" is also not easy to fight. Zombies keep crawling out of it, and I can't get close at all. After observing for a while, I still can't find any opportunities, and I don't know what other abilities it has. After thinking about it, I dare not rush up and take risks easily. I can only give up helplessly. I entered the "Free Territory" as soon as I died. I must rush to the "Valley of the Wind" before resurrecting and leaving the "Dead Soul Space". I don't have much time to waste here. If the Dark Knight and the three corpse kings are left alone in the "Free Territory", without my restraint, God knows what they will do when facing the provocation of those undead souls. Maybe when I appear again, they have been annihilated.
But there was also an unexpected surprise for me. On the way, I actually found a cave that seemed to be the long-lost "bat cave". In order to scout the inside clearly, I paid the price of a dark knight - this was indeed not an empty cave, but it was also a little beyond my expectation. There were indeed vampire bats living in it, and they were advanced blood bats, and they were a pair. Facing two vampire bats with the strength of terrifying knights, my dark knight who was exploring the way was naturally doomed to die. With the few people around me at present, I was not qualified to attack them at all. I could only sigh at the cave, note the direction, and wait to make plans later.
After much hard work, I finally arrived at the location of the "Yinfeng Valley" that Skynet told me. On the surface, it looked like a very ordinary valley. I looked around and found that there was no mark on the name of the valley. There was nothing special about it except that there were no traces of undead creatures near the valley entrance. There was no danger, and it was difficult to associate it with the "Yinfeng Valley", one of the four forbidden areas. No wonder Honglianhua was so careless to break in. If it were me, I would probably go in and take a look without knowing the details.
I didn't rush in as the time for resurrection was approaching. Anyway, it was relatively safe here, so I let the three zombie kings and the only remaining dark knight take a chance to rest. Once they entered the "Valley of the Wind", it would be hard to predict whether good or bad would happen. If they couldn't escape successfully, they would be "imprisoned" in there if they didn't want to die. Except for occasionally accepting my call to go to the human world to get some fresh air, they would have no chance to manage the zombie world for the time being.
In order to better cooperate, Skynet and Red Lotus synchronized their actions with mine. When I entered the "Dead Soul Space" again, they would also appear in the "Yinfeng Valley". It was indeed unimpeded to enter the valley. There was no Devouring Ghost in sight. The surroundings were peaceful. The only strange thing was that the stone walls on both sides of the valley were covered with holes of various sizes. According to Skynet, Devouring Ghosts were hidden in these holes. They would never interfere with you when you entered, but would rush out and attack you when you wanted to leave. It was not until I turned a corner and walked out of the relatively narrow valley that I saw a stone tablet more than ten meters high and two or three meters wide. It was not until I officially marked the name of the valley - "Yinfeng Valley" that it also noted its most distinctive feature - "easy to enter but difficult to leave".
The traces of Devouring Ghosts have appeared one after another around the area. Their white, almost transparent bodies are generally about half a meter tall. They are roughly the size of a child, with a head, torso, and arms, but without two legs. Their facial features are unclear. They float in the air and wander around, sometimes gathering and sometimes dispersing. Sometimes they are crowded in one place, but after a while, you can no longer see any of them. Their movements are irregular. It is said that Devouring Ghosts use their two small hands to attack, grabbing one by one. Each time they grab, they will take away some of your physical strength. Even the "Undead Shield" cannot defend against their attacks. The speed of drifting in the air seems slow, but when they actually attack, they are quite fast. If you don't try your escape quickly and leave them far behind, they will keep chasing you. Physical attacks have limited effect on them. Weapons passing through the body only slightly delay their movements. The dark knight brought by Skynet has to slash more than ten times to disperse a relatively weak Devouring Ghost. Magic attacks are more effective. Using the "Cloud of Death" can often kill one in a few hits. However, releasing magic consumes mental energy, and the attack speed is relatively slow. It is okay to deal with a small number of them, but once you are surrounded by the devouring ghosts, you will eventually run out of physical strength.
Looking back at the narrow valley, I gave up the idea of going back to explore . If a large group of Devouring Ghosts really came out to attack, wouldn't that be asking for trouble? It's better to meet up with Skynet first. However, in order to test whether the tactics prepared in advance are effective, I still chose a lone Devouring Ghost and joined forces with the other three Corpse Kings to launch a "mental shock". The target was smashed to pieces as soon as it came into contact, showing a strong attack power. It's a pity that the "mental shock" can only be launched against individuals each time, and cannot launch a large-scale group attack. There are so many Devouring Ghosts in the "Yellow Wind Valley". Even if they don't actively attack and wait for me to deal with them one by one, I'm afraid I can't rush out even if I die of exhaustion.
Entering the valley, we advanced carefully all the way to avoid conflict with the devouring ghosts. These guys float silently and their bodies are transparent, so it is difficult to find them if we are not careful, and we may bump into them. Fortunately, it is a calm period now, and they behave relatively peacefully and are easy to avoid. Once the wind is about to blow, they will become agitated, rushing around, and become extremely aggressive. It will be much more difficult to avoid them at that time.
According to the coordinates that Skynet told me, I found him and Red Lotus, with red shoes and red hat. The unique dyeing technology of the elf costume designer made her wizard robe also turn red, which was particularly eye-catching in this lifeless space. It seemed to add a bit of vitality. No wonder Skynet fell in love with her at first sight. I think it can trigger the feeling of loneliness in such an environment. The two stood side by side, the handsome man and beautiful woman were so well matched, and I, who was lonely, couldn't help but feel a little envious.
As soon as he saw me, Skynet excitedly came forward and gave me a warm hug, expressing his warm welcome to my arrival. Red Lotus also took the initiative to shake hands with me, "I have heard of Ah Dai's name a long time ago, and recently I have heard a lot about your deeds from Moonlight and Skynet. You really deserve to be the 'No. 1 Wizard in the World'."
"I've heard about the beauty of the Scarlet Witch from Brother Tian a long time ago. It's better to meet her in person than to hear about her. No wonder Brother Tian has been thinking about such a beauty all the time and can't wait to break out of this cage with you and fly freely together!" Maybe it was the success in the game that made me more confident and less timid in dealing with people. If it were a few months ago, I would never have said such teasing words to unfamiliar people.
Hong Lianhua said "Oh" and glanced at Tianwang with a half-smile. Tianwang turned his head slightly and avoided her gaze. "Okay, this is not the place to talk. The cold wind is about to blow. Let's find a corner to hide and introduce the situation in the 'Cold Wind Valley' to Ah Dai."
The "Yinfeng Valley" is very large, with a radius of at least several thousand square kilometers. There is a stone pillar at a certain distance in the valley, with different heights and thicknesses. There are also large and small holes on the mountain walls surrounding the valley. The Devouring Ghosts hide inside to rest. Under normal circumstances, only a small number of them are active outside. When the Yinfeng is about to rise, almost all the Devouring Ghosts in the valley will come out to move around. Facing the gusts of Yinfeng, they will dance wildly. If you are not careful or unlucky, you will be discovered by them, and they will suck away your physical strength, and then be swept away by the Yinfeng, and fall anywhere in the valley at will. It is almost impossible to swim arm in arm in arm all day. In order to deal with this situation, the two of them tried to meet as soon as possible after being blown away by the Yinfeng, and set a coordinate as the meeting point. Although there are many shortcomings and the method is relatively stupid, it is much better than blindly groping. It was also lucky that the two of them could meet together to greet me this time. After a Yinfeng, the two of them were not far apart, and they arrived at the meeting point smoothly at the scheduled time.
As they were walking and talking, suddenly, sharp whistling sounds were heard in the valley, and the flow of air began to slowly intensify. The originally sparse devouring ghosts in the valley gradually became denser, constantly floating out from the holes in the stone pillars and mountain walls, dancing wildly in the wind. The strange thing was that they looked light and massless, but they were safe and sound in the fierce cold wind that could sweep away players and other undead creatures, and could move at will. The dancing bodies were completely spontaneous behaviors, and were not the result of being driven by the cold wind.
As soon as I entered the "Yinfeng Valley", I was greeted with a "warm welcome" from the Yinfeng. I wonder what kind of answer I can give in this test.
