Volume 3: The Nameless Chapter 29 Spider-Man brand, craftsmanship and quality, worthy of trust

The leader of the resistance army that appeared before Team K was a lady who was outstanding in every aspect.
Although her skin is not well maintained due to age and fatigue, her movements and posture as she leans back in the chair and looks out the window with melancholy are still touching.
The lady's graceful figure in combat uniform is enveloped in the sweet-smelling smoke of her burning ladies' cigarette, making one wonder how eye-catching she must have been in her prime.
Captain Jack coughed, straightened his collar, and took out a hand mirror to tidy up his appearance.
Apparently, the vagrant pirate had found a new "target".
"Who are you?"
The lady awakened by Mason's exclamation turned around and looked at the four people in front of her with a frown. When she saw their uniform gray bat-style uniforms that were out of place here, Mary Jane immediately narrowed her eyes.
She said:
"Another outsider?"
She curled her lips and waved her hands, saying in the same annoyed tone as the middle-aged Spider-Man just now:
“The last two superheroes here were taken away by your colleagues a month ago. This place has no meaning in your eyes anymore.
Thanks to you, I am now left alone.
Let's go.
Before I send you off with a bullet."
"No, Ms. Mary Jane, we are not here to recruit."
Mason suppressed the strange feeling in his heart and stepped forward, saying to the former journalist who also had a bad temper:
"We are going to enter Osborne Tower to do something dangerous but beneficial to the world, and a kind person told us that we can get help from you?"
"Who told you that?"
Mary Jane narrowed her eyes and said:
"Peter?"
Mason didn't answer.
His eyes fell on Mary Jane's nameplate, where the lady's full name was: "Mrs. Mary Jane Watson Schultz"
"Well."
The young man widened his eyes and said:
"What happened? Why did you divorce Peter? And remarry a man named Schultz? No wonder he became the terrible person he is now."
"It seems like you are very familiar with him. And what's with your tone just now? Are you standing up for your 'new friend'? Do you think I'm a bad woman?"
Mary Jane sneered and said:
"Then let me ask you, young man with too much talk. If you were a 27-year-old woman facing a career crisis, and had a husband who was willing to give everything for strangers in the city but was unwilling to work hard to find a good job to support his wife and daughter, and who was devastated and indulged in alcohol after the death of his relatives, what would you do?
When my daughter was sick and hospitalized and her father couldn't even afford the hospital bills...
Okay, I admit it.
At first, maybe I just wanted to stimulate him and cheer him up.
But it turns out that the Peter I knew and loved might have died, gone with Aunt May, long before the end of the world. "
This explosive question left Mason speechless. Barbara behind him whispered to Ertong:
"Mason also said that the weird uncle and Bruce are the same type of people. Damn, the same type of people! Bruce would not work so hard to support his family and then end up with his wife and children because of such a practical reason."
"Well, you're right. Even if Bruce is in such a poor state, he still has hundreds of millions of dollars in assets."
Ertong also nodded in agreement.
"Oh, beautiful lady, don't be angry. For an elegant beauty like you, anger will only exacerbate your already limited youth."
In the awkward situation, Captain Jack walked towards the angry Mary Jane with a dashing step, and as if performing magic, he took out a red rose from nowhere.
He handed the flowers to Mary, but before he could say anything, Mary waved her hand and threw the red rose at his face, interrupting Captain Jack's dirty talk.
It is obvious that this lady is definitely not a tough character who can be easily taken down.
"Get out of my office!"
Mary Jane slammed the table and shouted:
"This place refuses to provide any help to outsiders. Go find your new friend. Maybe Peter will suddenly cheer up after being decadent for several years."
"That weird uncle has been protecting this shelter."
Barbara frowned and said:
"Although you have resentment towards him, ma'am, you are alive here thanks to him. Perhaps you should..."
"Snap"
The lady slammed her fist on the table, interrupting Barbara.
"You know nothing!"
Mary Jane held the lady's cigarette between her lips, stared at Barbara fiercely, and said loudly:
"When he was already a cripple and followed the Avengers desperately to rush towards the Destroyers, when he was beaten half to death and fell in the city, you had no idea, young man!
I was the one who dragged him and his girlfriend back from the battlefield under fire, and that unfaithful adventure cost me my husband and my son..."
"Feel sorry."
Barbara was so frightened that she took a step back, lowered her head hastily, and apologized sincerely:
"It's my fault. I shouldn't have brought this up."
"Forget it. I'm just venting my anger on you."
Perhaps some of the frustration that had been suppressed in her heart was expressed in the unexpected conversation. In any case, Mary Jane, who had been very angry just now, quickly calmed down.
She seemed to have lost all her strength and sat back in her chair.
She reached out to brush her hair and wiped her red eyes, coughed a few times, and said:
“Since that man was able to bring you in here, it means you have won his trust. Perhaps you are really different from other outsiders.
But I don’t really care.
Tell me, what kind of help do you need from the resistance organization? What are you doing here ? Tell me, although I am a commander without troops, I can still provide information. "
Mason pulled up a chair and sat at the table. He repeated to Mary Jane what he had just said to the middle-aged Spider-Man, and asked about the earthquake again.
But Mary Jane couldn't give a specific answer.
The melancholy lady sighed and looked out the window at the children playing in the playground of the underground town.
She was silent for several seconds before she spoke:
"We have not been above ground for a long time, Mason. We hid ourselves underground and prayed for the protection of darkness. The world under the sun became synonymous with danger years ago.
Especially for the kids.
If the zombie siege hadn't broken out today, Peter probably wouldn't have been to the ground for several months. After all, there is nothing there except desolation.
But if you really want to find out this secret, there is a way..."
The lone commander of the resistance organization pursed his lips and said:
"I can give you a suggestion, but it is very dangerous. Going down the sewers of this shelter, there are some 'underground people' deeper underground.
They went underground earlier than we did, and that place was already their little kingdom long before the apocalypse.
They might know something.”
Mary Jane paused, glanced at Mason, who was taking notes, and continued:
“As for sneaking into Osborne Tower, it’s not as difficult as you think. The Green Goblin has been recruiting workers in this ruin. He went crazy after his son died in the apocalypse.
Has been expanding his private kingdom.
In short, there are a lot of workers needed there. You just need to go to their recruitment point outside the city to sign up and you will be sent to the outskirts of Osborne Tower.
But getting into the city center is not that easy.
But you are probably all superheroes or super villains, and things that ordinary people can't do are a piece of cake for you."
Just as Mary Jane was introducing the situation of Osborne Tower to Team K, the door of the office was suddenly pushed open roughly, and a bald old man with a cane rushed in angrily and shouted:
"Mary, Mary! You're absent from this meeting again, damn it! We were supposed to discuss the shelter's unsustainable water supply problem today ... Hmm? You have guests?
These are...damn!
It’s an outsider!”
After recognizing the identities of Mason and others, this grumpy old man immediately threw the cigar on the ground, pulled out a revolver from his waist, and waved it at them.
But his shooting skills are terrible.
Mason and his four men were only a few meters away from him, but they kept firing their guns at him. He was still cursing as he fired:
"Fuck outsiders! Fuck the Star Society! It's you bastards who brought about the end of the world and the disaster! It's you who shamelessly deceived our city defenders in batches!
Damn it!
Because you guys have us down to the point where we have to rely on that dirty trickster Spider-Man to protect us. We are relying on an untrustworthy masked criminal to survive the apocalypse.
TMD!
How did the world become like this?
If my newspaper was still around..."
"Okay, Jameson, you're already very old, calm down. Being too angry is not good for your health."
Mary Jane was obviously used to the violent behavior of this neurotic old man. She blew a smoke ring and said in a listless tone:
"Stop scolding Peter. He doesn't care anymore. Maybe you should let go of your obsession with Spider-Man. It's the end of the world. Can't we just get by?
You are now the mayor of the shelter who is loved by everyone, can you please be a little more decent?"
"Don't even think about it!"
The old man waved his pistol, tapped his cane excitedly and shouted:
"Unless I die! Even if I die and am nailed into a coffin, I will use my decayed vocal cords to shout out the truth so that everyone will know...
Spider-Man is a huge liar!
He actually deceived me for so many years by pretending to be a photographer for my newspaper! Hell, I was paying him for those self-directed photos!
And we don’t have to rely on him.
Our doctors have diagnosed what is wrong with our vault guardian and they plan to perform surgery on our esteemed guardian Mr. Daredevil tomorrow.
If only we could straighten his broken bones, yes!
As long as we can cure him, we don't have to rely on that big liar! Mr. Matt, who is taciturn and well-versed in the law, is obviously more trustworthy! "
"Oh my god! Have you not given up on that outrageous plan yet?"
After hearing the shouts of Jonah Jameson, the former owner of the Daily Bugle, Spider-Man's biggest anti-fan, Peter Parker's former superior and lifelong hater, the deputy mayor of New York before the end of the world, and now the mayor of the Manhattan Underground Shelter, Mary Jane, who was already helpless, had an even greater headache.
She covered her face and said:
"That's enough, Jameson! Don't throw limited resources into that bottomless black hole. Matt himself said that he will never get better in his lifetime. Those invaders broke almost all the bones in his body.
We can't cure him with our current medical conditions. No matter how much you hate Peter, you can't change this fact. We can only rely on him now.
Unless you are willing to join Osborne."
"Fuck Osborne!"
The old man was even more angry, jumping up and down, drooling and cursing:
"As the mayor of New York City, there is no way I would go along with that jerk! I would rather jump off the Osborne Tower and die than reconcile with him.
When that bastard personally threw the zombie virus into my city, he became my enemy for life! In order to fight him, I would rather join forces with the big liar Spider-Man!
And this time we are serious, Mary. I have sent my son to lead people underground to find the leader of those underground people. We all know who he is.
His miraculous healing ability may help our true hero get back on his feet..."
"no!"
Mary Jane, the head of the shelter's security department, stood up suddenly upon hearing this. She leaned on the table and shouted:
“I won’t allow it! Jameson, you are simply crazy. Professor Connors has long lost his humanity, and his followers are even less likely to show mercy to us.
You are pushing your son into the fire."
The heated argument between the mayor of the shelter and the security chief made the members of Team K look at each other in confusion. After figuring out the point of their conflict, Mason rolled his eyes.
When the tension between the two men subsided a little, he stood up slowly, coughed, and stretched out his hand to stop the two from arguing.
He said to the grumpy Spider-Man hater in a gentle tone:
"Please calm down, Mr. Jameson. I am an unwelcome outsider, but I am also a... well, a doctor! I have a magical medicine from my world that can help all patients with broken bones stand up again.
If you trust me, please let me check on the injuries of Mr. Matt Murdock."
"Shut up!"
The little old mayor waved his empty revolver and screamed:
"You outsiders are all the same. You just want to trick our city guardian away again! I won't give you this opportunity."
"No, no, no."
Mason glanced at Mary Jane and said to Jameson:
“Actually, the one we want to take away is Spider-Man, but if I want to take away a Guardian, I have to leave a Guardian with you. Look, I will help you heal Daredevil, and then take Spider-Man away.
This way, your shelter will have a truly trustworthy shelter hero, and you will have one less problem to worry about. I mean, didn't you say Spider-Man was a liar?
Wouldn't it be nice for you if I took him away?"
"No!" X2
After Mason finished speaking, Mary Jane, who said she was completely disappointed in Peter Parker, and Jameson, who had always disliked Spider-Man, both refused at the same time.
The tone was firm and there was no room for maneuver.
This hypocritical scene made Mason curl his lips, and the remaining three members of Team K almost laughed out loud.
"Ahem"
Mary Jane coughed awkwardly twice, and explained in a way that made things more obvious:
"We don't like this Spider-Man, but we need it."
"Yeah, just like condoms used by young people, you don't really want it, but you can't live without it."
The old guy is worthy of being a lifelong fan of Spider-Man, even his metaphors are so vicious.
"All right."
Mason stood up, took out a bottle of bone spirit and tossed it up and down in his hands. He said:
"Just tell me if you want me to help treat Daredevil, without taking him away. You obviously know a lot about the creatures underground, but you are not willing to share it with us.
I'm pressed for time, so let's make a deal. Mary Jane, and Mr. Jameson."
The captain of Team K stared at Mary Jane and said:
"I heal Daredevil, and you! You're going to lead us underground yourself! Deal?"
