Volume 3: A Tombstone Stained with Sin and Blood Chapter 138 Hostility
No matter how many times Hermione tried, she failed again.
Her situation was completely different from Jon's. There was clearly no problem with the casting of spells or the magic, but the rock cake on the plate was not affected by any spell.
Unlike their failure, Hagrid and Gabrielle caught several fish with a net along the lake, and both of them were in a very happy mood.
After trying and confirming that it had failed, Jon and Hermione did not stay in the cab any longer. They had lunch and classes in the afternoon, so they could not stay here for too long.
After saying goodbye to Hagrid and Gabrielle, the two walked into the carriage.
"It's possible that this is my problem, not your fault. You can try with someone else."
Hermione was still trying to comfort Jon, but Jon waved his hand nonchalantly.
"It's okay, I'm not that fragile, it's just that a spell didn't work."
Just as the two were talking and just pushed the door and walked into the carriage, an abrupt voice suddenly sounded beside them.
"Who let you in through this door? The school rules clearly state that you cannot enter a room without a door number on a carriage. Don't you know that?"
Jon turned and looked in the direction of the sound, and found a boy wearing glasses, with his signature red hair and a student prefect badge on his chest, standing three meters away from them.
Percy seemed to have just come out of Professor McGonagall's vice-headmaster's office and happened to see Jon and Hermione pushing the door and walking into the carriage. As a prefect, he had a serious face.
Jon had no dissatisfaction with his attitude. Percy's personality was a little unpleasant, but he also did things according to the rules. Without Hagrid's invitation, they really couldn't open the door to the cab.
"We have received an invitation from Hagrid, Senior Weasley. The school rules also state that it is okay to enter an unmarked room with permission from the teacher or staff in charge of the room, right?"
After hearing what Jon said, Percy did not respond immediately, but looked at Jon deeply, and then spoke in an inexplicable tone.
"Don't think you have special privileges just because you did something for Professor Dumbledore, Green."
Jon was stunned for a moment, but before he could say anything, Hermione spoke before him, looking at Percy with an unfriendly look.
"I don't think Jon has ever had such thoughts, Senior Weasley. He never thinks he should be superior to others."
Percy didn't argue with Hermione, nor did he stay there any longer. He snorted coldly, turned around and left.
Looking at his back, Jon touched his hair in confusion. He didn't remember when he had offended Ron's brother, and didn't understand why what he said seemed to be directed at him.
But he didn't think about it too much.
Where there are people, there will never always be harmony. There is no way for Jon to make everyone like him. It is his right for Percy to dislike him in some aspects.
Of course, if he took the initiative to provoke him later, Jon would not endure it just because he was Ron's brother.
Jon and Hermione finished their lunch together in the restaurant. He thanked Hermione for her help in the end, and then the two parted ways.
The end of the semester is getting closer, and the study atmosphere on the carriage is becoming more and more tense.
Even the first and second grade children who were rescued here at the beginning of this year must meet certain academic requirements before they can officially enter the corresponding grade in the next school year. Otherwise, they will be held back and study with the new students who start school next year.
Jon had not been in the carriage for most of this semester, and without his usual classroom performance, he could not be exempted from the final exam and get his grades directly like he did last semester.
However, even during his time at Hogwarts Castle, he did not gain nothing. He learned a lot of spells and Transfiguration techniques from Aberforth. Now that he was back in the carriage, the second-year courses were very easy for Jon.
During this period, John still has not given up his research on the improved version of the "Floating Spell".
He asked Justin to try again. This boy, who would have gone to Eton College if he had not been brought to Hogwarts, knew more about gravity than Hermione.
But the result was the same. After he changed the concept, he still couldn't successfully use the levitation spell, let alone directly change the original effect of the levitation spell like John did.
This made Jon realize for the first time that he was special.
When he got the ring from Slughorn, he heard him say that his will was much stronger than that of ordinary people, but such characteristics were not visible from the outside. Usually, Jon only felt that it was easier for him to learn magic than others, and he did not notice any other abnormalities.
Now it seems that the benefits brought to him by the strong will are not just learning spells faster and being able to use magic rings that others cannot use. His consciousness can even directly change the effectiveness of the levitation spell, which is also a manifestation.
But Jon doesn't think such talent is a gift from God.
He vaguely felt that the reason why his will was stronger than others might be related to the time travel.
The improved spell had no way to be popularized, but Jon didn't worry too much about it, and he didn't stop collecting magic power from other students.
In the last week before the final exams, he had found some excuses to ask the students from grades one to three and some of the fourth grade to help him in the carriage and collected all their magic. From then on, the spells cast by the fifth grade students would not be something he could break.
In other words, Jon's current level of magic power is just on par with a normal fourth-grade student, which is already considered a very high level of talent.
All of this collected magic power only made the originally light blue gemstone's color slightly change, visible to the naked eye, but it was still clearly far from its previous deep red.
But after collecting all these magical powers, John finally obtained the complete forbidden book about the Shadowless God written by Snape that was absorbed into the ring.
He did not study rashly, but took the time to copy down the contents, and then knocked on the door of the principal's office in the evening of the day when the final exam began.
Dumbledore was reading a letter. When he saw John come in, he put the letter back into the envelope and a smile appeared on his slightly tired face.
"Good evening, Jon. I heard from Minerva that you did very well in your Transfiguration test today."
