Volume 15: Organisms and Organisms and Organisms Chapter 9: Night Singer (Part 2)

No desire to attack.
He was clearly a monster that emerged from the fog, a monster with a strong suspicion, but inexplicably, he seemed to have no ill intentions. Even the most cautious captain only glanced at the people around him, then sighed, put away his sword, and climbed back onto the carriage.
This feeling was really strange and very subtle. Everyone knew that the guy in front of them, who was wearing a black robe that looked like he had been dug out of a grave and whose entire neck was wrapped in bandages, was definitely not a good person, at least not a good person in the normal sense, but everyone couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and stability in their hearts. It was as if the person in front of them was their closest comrade-in-arms and the friend they watched the most .
"What are you?"
Looking at the figure walking out of the mist, the leader sighed and asked:
"It's dangerous to walk in the fog late at night. And who are you? Why are you following me?"
"Hmm? Isn't it normal to want a companion when walking at night?"
Isn't that the case with everyone? Let's team up.
The man took a few steps forward, his movements relaxed and cheerful, just like walking around his own yard where there was not even a mouse. He walked to the side of the cordon, and even the mindless lanterns made of magic did not produce any abnormality. He just stepped in. And everyone saw his appearance.
It looked like a teenager who was about 17 or 18 years old and had just passed puberty. His fluffy hair was messy even inside the hood, which made the hood stick up. Although he had some freckles, his cheerful face made him look energetic. However, the only problem was that his skin was too white. His lips and teeth were an unnatural dark blue, and his pupils were full of a dark color, as if he was dead without any luster.
If this guy wasn't alive and kicking in front of them, no one would have considered him as a living person. They would just be curious about how long he had been dead.
But even this ordinary face caused someone in the mercenary group to let out a low cry.
"Adel, it's Adel, but he's dead..."
"Ah, Adel, that sounds like a good name. Adel, um. Is my name Adel? Just call me Adel, it doesn't matter anyway."
The cheerful young man waved his hand, indicating that he didn't care about such a small matter.
But is there a normal person who can't remember his own name? This kind of behavior can be said to be a kind of replacement monster. However, no one present regarded this guy as an enemy. On the contrary, they subconsciously felt that the person in front of them was a person with whom they could communicate. It was as if the brain subconsciously abandoned some barriers and began to follow another thinking loop to carry out some headache-inducing thinking patterns.
Even though it was the mercenary group's livelihood, their rune manipulation skills were displayed in front of this person without any hesitation. Although it was just their first meeting, it made people feel relieved and even wanted him to lend a hand to help drive the car.
What was even more terrifying was that someone actually did this, and he actually happily agreed. The convoy once again moved forward slowly amid the sound of chains colliding, the only difference being that there was an extra person on it for no apparent reason.
"A night like this is really charming, isn't it? Singing at night, finding a group of companions, and going on an adventure to an unknown place, it's very romantic, right?"
This uninvited guest said it was better to be familiar or overly excited , and he sat in the carriage with an excited look on his face.
"The carriage you are driving now looks very special. Is it connected by runes to prevent evil from invading the surrounding area? It's a very good idea. The magic power of the spider webs around can also keep those invisible threats out. It's very good. Ah, can you teach me how to operate it?"
“It’s actually quite simple…”
The mercenary next to him was stunned for a moment, and then naturally began his teaching work.
The rune-related secret codes and decoding, the communication signals between mercenaries, seemed to be naturally endowed with some kind of magical ability, they would not hide anything in front of him, and directly handed over these secrets that should be protected until death to this inexplicable person. Intellectually, they thought that the current situation was extremely wrong, and all the mercenaries could feel that it was wrong, but looking at the smile and request of the young man, no one could refuse.
It was as if the empty, lightless eyeball contained some extremely terrifying or extremely sacred creation, making people involuntarily listen to his words and act according to his will. Even the song that just caused the riot was probably just the domain and power that spread out from his unconsciousness.
What kind of horrible guy have we provoked... and what will he bring to this world...
When things are out of their control, humans will always subconsciously have wild thoughts. Especially when he saw the young boy trying to control the direction of the horse's movement, the mercenary captain wanted to scold him many times, but all he said were some corrective thoughts and operation secrets. He also handed over some of his treasured secrets to this stranger he met for the first time, in exchange for a simple smile from him.
"I see. These horses are magical creatures, so they are not disturbed by various phenomena and are controlled by runes... The fusion of magic and creatures is a unique idea. Well, since you are so enthusiastic, I feel embarrassed to hide it."
The man seemed to be in distress. He didn't know when he became the chief. He tilted his head and thought, then clapped his hands with a look of sudden realization.
"How about this, since we're bored on the road anyway, I'll sing a song for you guys."
"…Don't sing, at least not while we're still working."
"Really? I remember that when I'm bored, I should sing to relieve my loneliness. I think my singing voice is pretty good. It shouldn't be terrible, right? Is it terrible?"
"No, we just don't want to hear it."
“That really takes some of the fun out of life.”
But we have an extra part of life.
Looking at this unknown monster that joined them halfway, the mercenaries didn't know what mentality they had, and they drove the carriage slowly towards the direction of Han Valley.
