Volume 1: The Beginner's First Cry Chapter 6 Understanding

In order to ensure the quality of the game and the smooth operation, Tianxia International specially rented a communication satellite as the main server and adopted the most advanced wireless network information processing technology to make various data processing faster and more accurate. Such a large investment is not something that an ordinary first-class company can afford.
"Tianxia" was designed by the top technology research institutes in several developed countries in the United States and Europe, and uses a Western fantasy background setting. Although China's electronic technology and virtual technology have made great progress in recent years, there is still a certain gap compared with those developed countries. It is not realistic to independently develop such a large-scale virtual online game. It is also a better choice to participate first and seek development in cooperation.
There are three human races that players can freely choose in Tianxia: white, yellow and black. There are also two lucky races: elves and dwarves. The elves only accept applications from female players, and the dwarves only accept applications from male players. The system randomly selects applicants according to a certain ratio. There is only one chance. Those who are not selected can only choose one of the three human races to join. Elf women can choose to weight their appearance by 20%, and have a movement speed that exceeds other races, and have a chance to become the best fashion designer; while the dwarves are short and ugly, but the dwarf warriors' special anti-magic physique, unique berserk skills, and the skills of dwarf craftsmen in making equipment are unparalleled in the world.
The world is divided into four continents: white people are born in the western continent, yellow people are born in the eastern continent, black people are born in the southern continent, and elves and dwarves are born in the northern continent. Each continent is relatively independent, and only players who have advanced to the fifth level or above can travel between continents through the "Gate of Time and Space".
The career settings in Tianxia are divided into two major systems - combat careers and life careers. Combat careers are divided into two categories - martial arts such as knights, swordsmen, axe warriors, archers, thieves and other professions and magic such as wind, earth, water, and fire magicians; life careers include alchemists, craftsmen, architects, fashion designers, and doctors. In addition, there are some special hidden professions set by the system, which have a broad development space to satisfy the tastes of most players. Of course, there are also some regrets in it, such as the lack of traditional Chinese Taoist professions, and the lack of a certain country's ninja profession, which makes the PK objects much less... After all, the game uses a Western background, and the slight shortcomings should be understandable to Eastern players.
When players first enter the game, they do not have a profession. They must reach the city and complete specific tasks before they can switch to different professions and learn the corresponding professional skills. However, they can only choose one between the combat profession and the life profession, and cannot learn both. It depends on your personal choice.
There are nine levels of combat professions from low to high. To advance, you need to meet certain conditions, such as reaching 100% of the qualification value, reaching three stars in the skill proficiency of the current level of profession, etc. You also need to complete special tasks. The higher the level, the more difficult it is to advance. Each profession has multiple skills. A player can master at least ten skills. One talent skill will be given when successfully changing jobs, and the nine level skills can only be learned after advancing to the corresponding professional level. Moreover, the skills mastered are random, and even players with the same talent and the same profession may have different skills. In addition, there are some special skills that must meet certain conditions and trigger hidden tasks before you have the opportunity to learn them. It depends on your luck and strength.
There are six levels of life professions: apprentice, ordinary, expert, master, grandmaster and saint. However, there are several restrictions on obtaining the saint level, and only players of the corresponding race can be promoted to the saint level professions. The yellow race is the doctor, the white race is the alchemist, the black race is the architect, the elves are the fashion designers, the dwarves are the craftsmen, and there are also some special hidden life professions that are only waiting for the right person to appear.
In the character design of Tianxia, only five basic attributes are retained: life, physique, strength, wisdom, and agility, which are related to the qualifications and growth rate of the characters. The lowest is half a star and the highest is five stars. These attributes are innate and cannot be changed. They cannot be improved by equipment or props. In line with the principle of equality of all beings, the sum of the innate attributes of all players is ten stars, of course, the specific attributes will be different.
Although the innate attributes cannot be changed, the acquired attributes can be increased . However, instead of using absolute numbers as in previous virtual games, they are expressed in seven color percentages. The five quantitative attributes representing health, physical strength, strength, mental strength, and agility will be presented in seven colors, namely red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Each color is presented in five colors, namely light, shallow, medium, heavy, and dark. The colors are progressive, and the closer to purple, the stronger the strength. In previous games, physical attack power, defense power, magic attack power, and defense power, which are usually quantified, are unexpectedly used as hidden attributes, which are experienced by the players themselves. According to the designers, this is to break and open up the players' minds. The battles in Tianxia rely more on the players' experience and skills, and cannot be determined by simple numbers.
In Tianxia, most of the monsters used to increase your seniority only drop raw materials, and rarely drop money and equipment. The shops run by NPCs only sell low-level weapons and equipment of various professions, and they are expensive. Better equipment can only be obtained by defeating some specific Boss-level characters or completing some tasks with super-value rewards, but the quantity and probability of obtaining them are extremely small. Most of the equipment can only be synthesized by alchemists, craftsmen and fashion designers using raw materials. Alchemists are responsible for rings and necklaces, craftsmen are responsible for weapons and armor, and fashion designers are responsible for robes and ordinary clothes that players wear daily.
The controversial part of Tianxia is a setting that is almost cruel: NPC shops only sell ordinary hemostatic potions for treating external injuries. Players' health points and mental energy consumed by performing skills cannot be quickly replenished, and they can only wait for natural recovery or rely on certain magic and equipment to increase the recovery speed. To recover quickly, high-level physicians must be employed to make high-quality pills, and of course the price is not affordable for ordinary players. This will greatly increase the difficulty of the game. Many players and industry insiders claim that such a setting will reduce the playability and gameplay of Tianxia and affect its development. However, Tianxia International still insists on such a design, claiming that Tianxia simulates a relatively real life and human nature to the greatest extent: players play as humans, not supermen with cockroach-like lives.
These are some basic settings. Tianxia International has only disclosed a small part of them. Many contents are waiting for players to study and explore by themselves. To quote Tianxia International's declaration: If you want to conquer the world, you have to work hard on your own! In addition, there are many common sense and experience in playing games. Afeng also explained a lot to me, but most of what I heard was half-understanding, and the effect was not very obvious. There is no way. I have no foundation at all. It's okay to listen and play at ordinary times, but I can't understand it when I start to study systematically. It seems that what you learn from books is shallow. It's not enough to rely on paper alone. Real knowledge comes from practice. You can only learn while playing in the game.
After analyzing the characteristics of the dwarves, Afeng gave up this choice. They were small and slow, so they could only become axe warriors, but Afeng wanted to become a knight. Although he could reach the level of a Saint craftsman in terms of his occupation, which gave him a great advantage in making weapons and armor, as the saying goes, a good cook cannot make a meal without rice. Without a large amount of raw materials and money, it would be difficult for a craftsman to achieve anything, and he could only become an auxiliary tool for high-level players or rich people. I naturally followed his lead, so the two of us only had one choice left - the yellow race. No matter what, with yellow skin and black eyes, my heart is still Chinese!
