Volume 1: Dance of the Black Dragon Chapter 9 Story Campaign [Ode to the Dragon Slayer]

The voice was low and had a heavy echo, and it sounded particularly familiar.
"Morpheus?"
"Who else could it be but me? You idiot, you actually still have the mind to sleep. The danger is very close, you slow-witted fellow."
Murphy then realized that he was dreaming. Ever since he started playing the game "Skyworld", he often dreamed about the black dragon Morpheus, probably because he thought about it during the day and dreamed about it at night. Sometimes in his dreams, he himself was the black dragon, but his body was not under much control.
Sometimes the black dragon in his dreams appeared as a separate individual and even chatted with him.
However, the attitude of this black dragon is usually not very good. He always calls you "stupid humans" and "lowly ants" when he is not busy. It is exactly the same tone as when he is live streaming.
After a long time, Murphy got used to it. He guessed that this was most likely some kind of reflection of his subconscious mind, or he might have been too immersed in the game, which affected his thinking.
Even so, he was not too nervous about it. Instead, he found it quite interesting. When he heard the black dragon's foul language, he was not angry but curiously asked, "What danger are you talking about?"
"Hehe, do you still need to ask me this? Don't you notice anything? I guess you must have sensed it, but you hypocritical humans are best at deceiving others and yourself, and you never dare to face the existence of the problem."
"Hey, can you explain it more clearly? Can you give me a hint?"
"You will know soon. Now - wake up!" said the Black Dragon, and suddenly revealed a hideous and malicious smile.
Murphy immediately thought to himself that it was not good, "Wait a minute, don't try that again."
However, it was too late. The black dragon opened its bloody mouth and scorching dragon flames gushed out, instantly burning its entire body.
Murphy felt a burning pain all over his body and suddenly woke up from his sleep. He sat in the dark covered in cold sweat.
He touched the sweat on his face. Damn, you always use this trick to wake me up. Are you kidding me?
Could it be that I have burned too many people in the game and subconsciously developed a sense of guilt? Or maybe my mind is twisted and I feel uncomfortable if I don't burn people. Damn, I need to consult a psychologist someday. It seems that playing such an inhuman character too much will leave psychological trauma.
He had read many news reports about actors going crazy because they were unable to break away from the characters they played, and thought to himself that he would not be the same.
Just as he was thinking about it, the sound of Dragonborn music suddenly rang out. It was his phone ringing. He picked up the phone and took a look. It was his supervisor calling.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Murphy, get up quickly! Something big has happened. Someone kicked down the door of your copy. The enemy team is led by a hero called Dawn Sword. The plot campaign has been triggered! The name of the campaign is [Ode to the Dragon Slayer]. The enemy is clearly coming for you, why don't you hurry over!"
What? Murphy suddenly woke up.
He quickly put on his clothes, washed his face with cold water, and ran straight to the live broadcast room. On the way, he learned the general situation from his supervisor.
Just ten minutes ago, around three in the morning, a full team of adventurers suddenly appeared at the entrance of the Dark Dragon's Nest dungeon. Without any pause, they attacked the Dragon Fire Peak directly like chopping vegetables and melons.
The group of elite dragon guards guarding the entrance to the dungeon were wiped out before they could even last five minutes. Now this team of adventurers has entered the dungeon and triggered a scenario campaign.
So that's it! So that's it!
Murphy finally understood why he felt something was wrong before. It turned out that the entire eunuch association was just a bait to attract his attention. The real killer move was waiting here.
This requires some explanation.
Story campaigns are special game events that can only be triggered when certain conditions are met.
The most common is the duel between . If only a team of adventurers attacks the dungeon, the plot campaign will not be triggered.
Because from the perspective of the game plot, adventurers as individuals do not exist, they are just background boards or something like that, so no matter how many times the BOSS is killed by adventurers, it can be resurrected again.
The same goes for heroes. It doesn’t matter if they are killed by monsters in the wild. They can wake up in their own bedroom in a blink of an eye, and after lying down for a few days, they will be able to jump around again.
But once the story campaign is triggered, the situation is completely different.
The game Sky World has a Sky Chronicle design. All events that happen in the game will be recorded in the Sky Chronicle, and the development of the entire game's plot is based on the Sky Chronicle.
If the BOSS was killed by an adventurer player, then this would not happen at all in the game plot, and it would not be recorded in the Sky Chronicles, because from the plot point of view, the adventurer is just a background board. Although there is indeed such a group, it does not exist as an individual.
After all, there are so many adventurers, and they can be resurrected infinitely, while the number of BOSSes is limited. If they are killed, they will die. No matter how many BOSSes there are, there will not be enough adventurers to kill them. Moreover, it doesn't make sense in the plot. You say that a certain demon king wanted to destroy the world, and then was killed by a group of adventurers. The leader of this group of adventurers was called Li Goudan, Wang Ermaizi, and he called me your second uncle. No one can accept such a plot.
Therefore, in previous games, no matter how many times the player killed the BOSS, the BOSS would pop up again alive and kicking as soon as the copy was refreshed, because adventurers had nothing to do with the game plot at all, and the BOSS could only be killed by some heroic characters in the plot.
The game Sky World also inherits this point. It is no big deal if the BOSS is killed by adventurers, but if it is killed by a famous BOSS or hero in a plot campaign, this incident will be recorded in the Sky Chronicle and become a part of the game history. It can never be changed again, and naturally it cannot be resurrected again. This way of death is also called plot killing.
Just like now, if Murphy kills this hero player called Dawn Sword, the Sky Chronicles will record that on a certain day of a certain month of a certain year, the hero Dawn Sword led a group of adventurers to attack the Dark Dragon's Lair, and was killed by the Black Dragon Lord Murphys in the battle.
From then on, this character disappeared completely. Of course, if Murphy was killed by the opponent, he would also die.
It will be recorded in the chronicles of the sky.
The hero Dawn Sword led a group of adventurers to kill the evil black dragon lord Morpheus and rescue the princess...
With such a big risk, there will naturally be many benefits. By killing famous bosses or heroes (including some special NPCs and elite monsters) in the plot campaign, you can get a lot of plot points. This is the key for heroes and bosses to improve their rank. The more famous the enemies you kill, the more plot points you will get.
Murphy was able to be promoted to the Black Dragon Lord, a disaster-level BOSS, and many heroes and BOSSes died at his hands.
In addition, if you kill a BOSS or hero in the plot campaign, you can also obtain all of the opponent's relics, including related plot items. For example, Murphy once killed a human hero and obtained a plot weapon [Frost Blade]. Now this weapon is on his drop list. If an adventurer kills him, there is a 7% chance of dropping a copycat version of this weapon.
If a hero kills him, there is a 100% chance that the weapon will drop.
For the BOSS, the biggest role of these plot items is to strengthen the loot pool. Only with good drops can more adventurer teams come to challenge him, and at the same time, it can reduce the loss of loot points when being defeated. (The drops generated by plot items only consume 50% of the loot points).
For heroes (including humanoid bosses), these plot equipment are truly powerful weapons that can be used. They are more powerful than the copycat versions used by adventurers, and even have some extraordinary powers that the copycat versions do not have.
For example, the [Frost Blade] in Murphy's hand, the special effect of the copycat version of the weapon in the hands of the adventurer player is - Frost Power: Freeze and slow down a target for 3 seconds, and cause 100 points of freezing damage.
The weapon special effect of the genuine Frost Blade is Frost Storm: It creates a frost storm, causing a continuous freezing effect to all enemies within a radius of 100 meters, causing a cumulative 1,000 points of freezing damage within 30 seconds, and the freezing effect will be triggered every 6 seconds of staying in the frost storm.
It can be said to be a real show for sellers and buyers.
And this is just one of Murphy's many trophies.
Precisely because the benefits are so huge, as long as the heroes and bosses are confident enough to kill the opponent, they will often attack without hesitation. If they win, they will soar to the sky, and if they lose, they will delete their account and start over.
