Volume 1 Crime and Punishment in Fog City Chapter 25: Futile

Is this a horror game?
Looking at the shadow walking slowly towards her amid the piercing alarm, the female anchor's heart felt as if it was about to explode. The extreme fear locked down all her nerves, and even moving her feet even an inch seemed like a luxury.
Like the most terrifying devil in a nightmare, it was covered in a misty body, with two red circular light sources embedded in the position of its eyeballs, and a crescent-shaped red smile at the corners of its lips, which looked like a vicious cartoon. The dark red long sword in its hand, which had drunk the blood of countless people, was shaking its steel-like blade like a living thing, emitting waves of creepy laughter. This nightmare monster was staring at the trembling female anchor, and slowly walked over with the sword in hand.
"No……"
Going to be killed.
"don't want……"
Going to be killed.
“No…”
Going to be killed.
'Anchor, run! ! ! ! !'
'Run!!!'
'Run! Run! I just had a fucking heart attack, anchor, run!!!'
Only now did the comments start to flood in like a waterfall. At that moment, almost everyone was frightened by the murderous intent that was coming at them. Only after such a long time did they have time to react.
But just because the audience on the barrage reacted doesn't mean the anchorwoman herself could react. Looking at the hell walking towards her, the anchorwoman's pupils trembled, but her whole body seemed to be bound by something invisible. It was as if those dead relatives and friends stretched out their empty hands to grab her cheeks, nailing her to the spot, and watching her own death approach.
'bite--'
"……Um?"
However, it was only for a moment.
Suddenly, a slight knocking sound, like something falling to the ground, came from the back of the tunnel.
And at the moment when the phantom of hell turned its head curiously because of the sound, the female anchor burst out with the greatest perseverance of her life, and uttered a high-frequency soprano from her throat that instantly shattered the emergency light bulbs. She turned around and ran madly to the safest corner in her impression.
"Aa ...
Countless light bulbs exploded instantly under the high-frequency sound waves, reflecting the last remnants of sparks.
Under the refraction of the fragments splashing in the air, the girl could even clearly see from the glass-colored rainstorm that the shadow behind her was attracted and turned around to look at her back again.
Will die.
Just from the afterimages reflected from the shattered glass fragments, one could feel the thorough madness and murderous intent.
Live broadcast, elegance, and the shitty qualities of an anchor were all forgotten. The female anchor just screamed with tears streaming down her face, venting her fear, running around in the corridor like a headless fly, crying, hoping to delay the arrival of her own death.
“Aa ...
It's just a game, it's just a game, it's just a game.
Although she warned herself countless times in her heart, the fear that seemed to be overwhelming her still caused her spirit to completely collapse and she ran away screaming.
'Damn, this is so exciting, run, anchor!'
"Run quickly! If you come out, I'll give you rockets!"
"Go to the emergency exit! Didn't your emergency exit just get repaired?"
Oh, right, the emergency exit!
The emergency passage that was just set up yesterday! That monster must be nowhere to be found!
Looking at the flashing bullet screen, the female anchor suddenly had an idea in her mind and subconsciously ran towards the hidden emergency passage.
As if enjoying the thrill of hunting its prey, the shadow was not approaching very fast. To be more precise, it was in line with the anchorwoman's speed. However, the dull sound of footsteps on the broken glass and the wheezing sound of the respirator made the anchorwoman shudder.
The layers of fear, the oppressive feeling that rushed towards her like reality, and the damn feeling of this game that was just like reality. The original advantages turned into disadvantages that the female anchor hated. Like a wild dog being chased, the female anchor could only crawl to the emergency passage, and then closed the five layers of iron doors in succession at a speed she had never thought of before, ran to the edge of the platform, and subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief when she looked at the iron door.
"It should be safe here—"
'Bang.'
Before the female anchor could even catch her breath, the iron gate that she thought was an insurmountable barrier was pierced through by the bronze sword that seemed to be alive.
That terrifying weapon was like a living monster. It grinned and transformed into a scissors-like shape, chewing on the iron door which was several centimeters thick. The harsh friction sound and the sound of the iron plate being crushed and bent were like a sledgehammer hitting her heart.
When she saw the black shadow kick open the iron door that had been rejected cleanly and stand in front of her again in his true attitude, the helpless female anchor staggered and fell to the ground. Facing the bottomless abyss behind her, her remaining courage finally disappeared completely. She knelt down subconsciously, and the bloody and horrific scenes in the building kept replaying in her mind, and she burst into tears.
“No, no no, no no no no no no no!!!”
"Don't come over here! Don't kill me! I don't want to die!!!"
"Don't come over here! Please! Please!"
"That won't do."
You have to die.
The black shadow walked forward indifferently and pierced the female anchor's chest with a sword.
Looking at the long sword stuck in her chest and drinking her flesh and blood, the girl widened her eyes in disbelief and spat out a mouthful of blood.
The blocked lungs and trachea made her unable to utter a single word. She just stared with bulging eyes, reaching out in vain to grab the long sword on her chest, not even noticing her nails cracking under the force. The crisp sound of broken finger bones and bone stubble gradually emerged from the skin, but were devoured by the Steam Holy Sword as nutrients.
“No… cough cough…”
Like a thirsty fish being pulled onto land, the girl spat out blood foam and minced meat, her mouth opened and closed, her palms tightly clasped the living sword, but her eyes quickly lost their luster, and soon the girl opened her mouth and spurted out the last mouthful of blood, and her body, which had lost all strength, slowly knelt on the ground.
Li Lin drew out his sword, raised his hand and swung it down. A cold light flashed, and dark red blood gushed out along with the falling head.
The headless body slowly collapsed to the ground and fell outside the celestial city. Then, under some unknown force, it rotted into a mass of rotten flesh and quickly evaporated.
