Volume 1 Chapter 3 Lily Potter

A squeezing feeling as if his entire body was being run over by wheels occupied all of Jon's senses.
The nausea and pain as if he was being crushed made his stomach churn. Just after his feet, which had been suspended in the air for less than a second, stepped on the solid ground again, Jon finally couldn't bear it anymore and he bent over, holding his stomach and retching.
"It's inevitable that you'll feel uncomfortable with the feeling when you Apparate for the first time. Sit down and have a cup of hot chocolate, maybe you'll feel better."
Although Lily's voice was cold, it was obviously caring as it sounded beside him.
Jon took a breath and took the cup of warm chocolate from her hand. He lowered his head and seemed to take a sip, but in fact his lips did not touch the liquid in the cup at all. He suppressed the discomfort of his body and focused all his attention on the surrounding environment.
This is a small wooden house with very simple furnishings. There is only a stove, two shabby single sofas around the stove and a dirty wooden table. It looks like just a safe house for temporary rest.
Through the narrow window, you can see a lush forest outside, which is obviously a place where few people go.
Jon held the cup of hot chocolate in both hands and looked at Lily who was using her wand to light the stove, making the originally weak flame become stronger. Only now could he carefully observe this witch who should have died ten years ago.
She was undoubtedly a very beautiful woman, but her dark red hair was a little messy, her face was pale as if she had not gotten enough rest, her eye sockets were very deep, and her loose gray robe made her look extremely thin.

Lily noticed his gaze and looked at Jon with those green eyes that a certain Potions professor missed so much in the original book .
Jon took a deep breath and asked the first question after arriving at a safe place with a serious face.
"I followed you out. Will Mrs. Chris and the others be in danger?"
Although he did not have much sense of belonging to the orphanage, the director, Mrs. Chris, provided him with food and accommodation and took care of him for more than a year.
Deep down, Jon didn't want to see the people who had helped him implicated because of him.
Lily looked up at him, and her eyes, which had been as calm as dead water, were noticeably softer.
"Those who wanted to take you away used to do all kinds of evil, but after they completely gained control of the power in the magic world, their masters no longer allowed them to kill people easily. They will only erase the memories of you from everyone in the orphanage and destroy all traces of your existence in this world. They will not harm anyone related to you."
After hearing her words, Jon finally breathed a sigh of relief, and his hand holding the teacup relaxed a little.
"You look much more mature than your peers, not like an 11-year-old child." Lily did not take her eyes off Jon.
From her tone it was obvious that she was just speaking from her feelings, but Jon did not show any sensitivity because of this, he just blinked and said.
"Children living in orphanages always know more, right? Although I don't think it's something to boast about."
Lily fell silent. She didn't know what she was thinking about, and her mood suddenly became gloomy.
But this silence did not last long. Her face returned to calm and indifferent, and she spoke to Jon.
"Crouch has already told you about your general situation when we were at the orphanage. At least he did not lie about you having magical talent and being a wizard. There is no need for me to repeat it to you. I know you have many more questions in your mind. Fortunately, we still have time until dark, so I can answer these questions."
"But before I give you a formal orientation, you have to answer a question for me first."
Lily's expression didn't change much, but her tone became a little more serious.
"Why, when you heard the name Barty Crouch, did you decide to follow me? Did you know him before?"

Jon's expression remained unchanged. After arriving at the safe house, he had already thought that if Lily had no problems, she would ask him this question sooner or later, so he made a plan in his mind from the beginning.
Judging from Lily's current attitude, she was not too wary and vigilant about him because of this matter, which made Jon secretly relieved.
He was not sure whether the Lily in front of him could perform magic like Reflexology. Even if a decent wizard could do so, they would rarely use it secretly on people, especially on an 11-year-old child. But if the situation was dangerous to a certain extent, even a decent wizard would not be so pedantic as to hold back on suspicious elements.
Jon's current performance is obviously far from this level, but first of all he has to be able to explain it clearly.
"I don't know him, but from the first moment I saw him, I felt that he wasn't as friendly as he appeared to be." Jon and Lily looked at each other, without any intention of avoiding her gaze. "He disliked and hated me. I could feel it from the first moment he saw me."
"The more he described the beauty of the magic school, the more I felt he was lying. Besides, I couldn't understand a single word of the admission letter he asked me to sign, except for the title. After signing, who knows whether I will really go to the magic school or sell myself out? Before you showed up, I never thought of signing and going with him, but he was an adult who knew magic, and I was a child, unable to directly resist. Your appearance gave me more choices, although this choice was also unknown and very dangerous, but it was better than going with another more suspicious person, right? That's why I asked his name to distract his attention when you were confronting each other, and then I ran away with you."
What Jon said was well-reasoned and 90% of it was true. Only the last sentence was a lie. Unless you pry into his heart, you won't find the problem.
Of course, Lily did not "dissect" his brain, but she still stared at Jon strangely.
There was a moment of silence in the air, until Jon felt his whole body go numb under her stare, and then she finally spoke.
"I've never seen an 11-year-old like you ..."
She seemed to be struggling with her choice of words, and Jon observed her expression and reminded her at the right time.
"clever?"
"No, it's like a ghost who looks young but has actually been dead for thousands of years. There are so many twists and turns in his heart."
Jon's face suddenly froze.
We have only known each other for a short time and are not familiar with each other, so there is no need to call him an old monster in such a roundabout way.
