Volume 1 Beginning of Summer Chapter V Registration

A week later, Jiang You received a WeChat message from Tang Butian, asking him to go to the Tangjiang City Public Security Bureau to register.
Tangjiang City Public Security Bureau is in Ning'an District, about an hour's drive away.
Jiang You walked to the door and looked up at the sky. The clouds were thick and white with gray. He turned around, locked the door, called a taxi with his mobile phone, and walked towards the exit of Wenhua Street.
After getting in the car, the taxi driver looked at him and asked, "Going to the Municipal Public Security Bureau?"
"Yes." Jiang You fastened his seat belt.
The driver stepped on the accelerator and asked, "Going to do some work?"
"Yes, let's go and register." Jiang You looked at the increasingly gloomy sky outside the car window. "It looks like it's going to rain today. I haven't put away a few pots of flowers yet. I hope it won't rain when I come back."
"That's impossible. The government's efficiency can't be that high. It's good enough if they don't ask you to run back and forth so many times."
"No?"
The taxi turned a corner and drove onto the overpass.
The car speed increased.
"You know, someone recently jumped off the Xinwan Building not far from here. It's said that it's still unclear whether it was suicide or not. There are so many high-tech methods now, but the person can't go home even after the seventh day of death. It's pitiful." The driver shook his head and sighed. "I heard that Cent Entertainment originally wanted to invest in Xiaozha, but now it's gone."
Cent Entertainment is the most profitable gaming company in China. In recent years, it has continuously expanded its business scope by investing in emerging startups.
"Didn't Xiaozha say he wanted to go public?" Jiang You adjusted his sitting position.
"It's not that easy to go public. I've taken a few passengers on the bus at Xinwan after 10pm. They told me that they are just hyping up concepts and telling stories. It will take several years for them to make a profit. They can't see it now."
"It's not easy to do business right now. Except for a few restaurants on the street, business this year is obviously much worse than last year."
"You opened a shop on Wenhua Street?"
"yes."
"do what?"
“Selling postcards.”
"That's because business is bad. Now that crayfish are on the market, a friend of mine who does this made hundreds of thousands of profits this season last year."
"I've thought about it, but if I run a restaurant, I need to apply for a restaurant license, and I also need to deal with environmental protection and fire protection. Today this person comes to inspect, tomorrow I need to entertain someone, and the house is greasy and hard to clean. It's better to relax and be comfortable now."
"That's true."
Jiang You and the taxi driver chatted all the way until they reached their destination.
The car stopped at the gate of Tangjiang City Public Security Bureau.
Jiang You got out of the car and looked up at the Public Security Building. A few drizzles of rain fell. He put his hands in his trouser pockets and walked in slowly.
There weren't many people in the hall on a weekday afternoon.
Jiang You walked to the machine for getting numbers, and the guide on the side asked him, "What do you want to do?"
"Tang Butian asked me to come and register. She said if you tell her name, you will know."
The guide looked Jiang You up and down.
"Go to the twelfth floor. After you enter the elevator, turn right and find the second office," he pointed in the direction of the elevator. "The elevator is there."
"Okay, thank you very much."
Jiang You walked to the elevator and waited for a while. The elevator came. After everyone inside came out, he walked in and pressed the 12th floor.
The elevator stopped at the 7th and 9th floors respectively, and several people in police uniforms came in. They looked at Jiang You, then looked at the lit floor indicator lights.
When they reached the 12th floor, the elevator door opened and Jiang You walked out.
Turn right and you will see the second office.
He looked at the Special Events Section sign on the office door.
He knocked on the door.
"Come in." A clear male voice came out.
Jiang You turned the door handle and pushed the door open.
The office is not big and is very tidy.
A young police officer with a fair face and wearing a light blue T-shirt was sitting behind the desk at the front. When he saw Jiang You come in, he put down his phone.
Jiang You saw the name tag on the desk with the words "Sun Yu" written on it.
"I am Tang Butian, let me register."
"Oh, oh, okay," Sun Yu stood up, "Sit down for a moment, I'll find the form for you."
Jiang You pulled out a chair and sat down on the other side of the desk.
Sun Yu walked to the filing cabinet at the back of the office, opened the glass door, took out a folder, pulled out a few sheets of paper, and walked back to his seat and sat down.
He handed the paper and pen to Jiang You, "This form is for you to fill out, and this one is a template. If you don't know how to fill it out, just ask me."
"Okay." Jiang You took the paper and pen.
"By the way, give me your ID card."
Jiang You took out a half-worn black wallet from his pocket, opened it, found his ID card and handed it to Sun Yu. Sun Yu walked into the inner room and Jiang You heard the sound of the machine starting up.
He looked down at the form.
Sect, master, magic weapon...
He twirled the pen and filled in his name, ID number and mobile phone number at the top of the form, then signed his name and wrote the year, month and day at the bottom.
Sun Yu copied his ID card and walked back. He saw Jiang You twirling a pen idly and asked, "Have you filled it out? Let me take a look."
He picked up the form and frowned when he saw that it was blank, "Why is it all blank?
"I can only see something special, and not all the time. I don't think the Yin-Yang eyes can even count."
"Then why did she ask you to register?"
Jiang You pressed the pen on the form, "One of my tenants jumped off the building."
"Oh, the Xinwan case, was he your tenant?"
"Yeah, I was also kind-hearted. I was afraid that his parents would live with me and something might go wrong. In the end, she found out."
"No wonder, then let me give you a test?"
"OK."
Sun-woo stood up.
He walked to the filing cabinet again, opened the door, and after flipping through it for a while, he returned to his seat . He turned to the first page and placed it in front of Jiang You.
The pattern is made up of dots of the same size but different colors.
"Color blindness detection chart?" Jiang You shifted his gaze away from the pattern and raised his head slightly to look at Sun Yu.
“I think so too,” Sun Yu picked up the phone, “Tell me the pattern you saw.”
"The number 28."
"Okay," Sun Yu pressed his fingers on the phone screen a few times, "Next page, what do you see?"
"elephant?"
"Okay, go ahead."
After more than twenty minutes, Jiang You finished flipping through the album.
Sun Yu breathed a sigh of relief and put his phone on the table.
"That's it? I thought these patterns had a hypnotic effect, and then I would enter a special place, a cave chamber or something like that, with strange symbols flashing on the ground and around, and some weird monsters would pounce on me."
"You like to read online novels, right?" Sun Yu paused. "When I first learned about this department, my reaction was similar to yours. People with special abilities see different patterns than ordinary people. It seems that people with different abilities see different patterns."
"How many points can I get?"
"I don't know either. I'm just an ordinary police officer, on rotation here for three months."
"Is Tang Bu Tian?"
"She is now the person in charge of this area in Tangjiang City."
"Is she still studying?"
"Sophomore year, I think."
