The Real Hogwarts Chapter 101 Defense Professor's Office
Hamton was a little surprised as to why Jon's reaction suddenly became so big, but after all, not everyone had Hermione's careful observation and keen intuition, so he didn't ask any more questions, but just answered Jon's question.
"At the beginning of the Christmas holiday, Mr. Dolohov asked some of us to clean the area in front of the school gate. You were not assigned at that time. Ariel and I went there together. At that time, we saw the two Professors Carrow carrying suitcases together and they seemed to be preparing to go home together. We haven't seen them in the school since then. I guess they won't come back until the start of the school."
The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office was also John's goal when he came to Hogwarts Castle.
However, he had never found any opportunity to sneak in before. The current Defense Professor, Amycus Carrow, rarely left his office, and during the day Jon had to stay with other Mudblood students. If he sneaked out alone, he would easily be discovered by Dolohov.
After the Christmas holiday began, his attention was always focused on how to kill the basilisk and enter the principal's office, and he always neglected to scout the Defense professor's office. In fact, if he had been more careful, he would have discovered early on that the Defense professor's office had been empty. The Carrow siblings left Hogwarts Castle at the beginning of this year's Christmas holiday.
After all, they are all teachers with families, unlike Snape and Barty Jr. who killed his own father, who are homeless every holiday season.
But now, after being reminded by Hanton, Jon realized that it was not too late. There was still nearly a week left in the vacation, which was enough time for him to go in and out of the defense class office dozens of times.
"Thank you, Hamton. My pumpkin juice is yours."
Jon stuffed the pumpkin juice he hadn't touched into Hanton's hand, which made the little boy look confused and he had no idea how he had helped him.
The snow that fell on Christmas Day still shows no sign of melting.
It was very cold in Hogwarts Castle at night. Jon put on all his clothes, put on his invisibility cloak, and left the underground dormitory with the opened Marauder's Map.
The Defense professor's office is on the third floor of the castle. One room away from it is Barty Jr.'s Charms professor's office. This is the only place Jon has to be careful about tonight. He must not make too much noise so as not to alarm this "filial son" of the magic world.
Aberforth did not ask Jon to return the telescopic eye he had lent him, which gave him more room to scout before entering the room.
After checking that there were no magical portraits or living creatures hanging in the Defense Office, Jon used the unlocking spell to open the office door and walked in carefully.
With the moonlight shining through the window, he could clearly see the layout of the office.
The space here is very large, basically only slightly smaller than Voldemort's headmaster's office. There are several rows of bookshelves along the surrounding walls, but there are very few books on them, and they are all strange and odd things.
There were Grindylow larvae soaked in an unknown liquid, placed vertically on a shelf, dried human hands that were unknown whether real or fake, necklaces stained with dried blood, a green human skull, and so on.
Rather than saying that this is the office of a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Jon would rather believe that this is a secret base of dark wizards.
However, considering Professor Carlo's personality, it is reasonable for his office to be like this. However, Jon is a little curious about how he usually teaches students in defense classes.
While thinking about these messy things, Jon walked carefully past the bookshelves without touching anything on the shelves, and then walked forward to the inner room of the office where he usually used for rest.
The furnishings here are much more normal than those outside, except that daily necessities are thrown around randomly. It can be seen that Amycus Carlo is not a person who likes cleanliness and tidiness.
Jon didn't waste any time. Before stealing the Philosopher's Stone, Slughorn gave him all the notes and materials left by Mr. Adrian Fawkes, the man who created the spellcasting ring. From those notes, he had already learned where Adrian had hidden his research results when he was a professor of Defense at Hogwarts.
He walked around Carlo's bed and found a piece of floor at the end of the bed that looked no different from the rest. He then pulled out his wand and tapped lightly on the floor according to the spell he saw in the notes.
"Upside down."
The floor suddenly moved, and it turned over on the ground. The side that was originally exposed on the ground turned underground, and the side that was originally hidden underground appeared on the ground.
Just as it turned over, a long and narrow wooden box, the same length and width as the floor, was brought out.
The wooden box had a lock, but it was not locked. Jon opened the box without hesitation, and it was filled with rolled up parchment.
He opened his cloth bag that was cast with the traceless extension spell and put all the information into the bag.
He was very careful in sorting out the information, but until he had taken out all the items in the box, he did not see any trace of the gem on the ring.
This made Jon frown, but he didn't stay in the office any longer. After making sure that nothing was missing, he restored the wooden floor to its original state, put on an invisibility cloak and left.
There were no accidents on the way, and he returned to the dormitory safely. After returning, he spread out the live map beside the bed, lit a candle, and began to take out the information he had brought back one by one.
Adrian's notes did indeed only record that he hid some relevant information in the office, but did not mention that the gems were also in this place.
But since Slughorn clearly told John that there was a gem in Hogwarts Castle, there shouldn't be any problem with this matter. It's just that Adrian didn't put his research together with the gem .
Jon was not too discouraged. He began to look through the hidden magic materials bit by bit in the dim candlelight, hoping to find some clues.
But when he saw what these magic notes were studying, his entire attention was drawn to the information on them.
