Chapter 9: The Dragon Prince Who Cannot Be Retained 4
I caught up with Hongze breathlessly and said to him hesitantly, "Are we going to ask Zhou Mian for money?"
"Borrow money? Why?" Hongze looked at me like an idiot. "Zhou Mian's yard is so big, and Zhou Mian's cooking skills are much better than yours. Of course we should go and borrow money to stay there!"
"Eh? Can I stay here?" I was so surprised that my mouth opened so wide that an egg could fit in it, and I stopped walking.
"Of course! Hurry up, or Zhou Mian will leave!" Hong Ze waved his hand, ignored me, and continued to run forward.
"Slow down, wait for me!" I said with a bitter face, and hurriedly chased after him. I couldn't help but complain in my heart, is this soul-binding cage trapping him or tying me up?
Hongze and I ran all the way back to the classroom. The crowded classroom was now mostly empty, but fortunately Zhou Mian had not left yet.
Hongze walked up with big strides, pulled Zhou Mian aside, and said carelessly: "You have to take ."
"You made such a scene in class that Lingmiao kicked you out?"
"Hey, hey, what are you talking about? I mean us, just me and her."
"What?" Zhou Mian suddenly raised his voice and looked back at me . "What did he mean? What's wrong with you?"
"Why are you looking at her? Listen to me!" Hong Ze straightened Zhou Mian's body with dissatisfaction and said word by word, "We can't live here anymore. I have no money, this guy has no cash on him, and the card can't be used, so I had to come to you..."
I nodded and briefly told Zhou Mian about Ji Heng's situation. I was so embarrassed that I didn't know how to start.
"What? Pretending to be your father, and even shooting? This is too lawless, this is simply a crime!" Zhou Mian paced back and forth, muttering, "Let's go to my house. I don't believe they dare to come to my house and make trouble in broad daylight."
"But...will it cause trouble for you?" I hesitated and rubbed my hands, saying, "Or, you should just lend me some money."
"Hey! What's wrong with 'Elite'?" Ling Jiao suddenly jumped out from behind me and said sarcastically, "Are you going to borrow money instead of eating for free this time?"
Ling Jiao’s sudden appearance left me at a loss. I opened my mouth but no words came out.
"If we didn't borrow any money, then who would have borrowed it? We were talking about going to Zhou Mian's house to play for a few days." Hongze reached out and pulled me over, then said to Ling Jiao.
Hongze's words startled me, and I pushed him away abruptly, nervously explaining to Ling Jiao: "Ah, that, it's because Hongze said that no one is at his house these two days, and it's boring to stay alone, so he wants to stay at Zhou Mian's house for two days."
"There's no one at Hongze's house, so go live at Zhou Mian's." Ling Jiao frowned slightly, and suddenly her eyes became stern, and she glanced at me, "What does that have to do with you?"
I shuddered helplessly, my voice suddenly weakened, and my eyes drifted towards Zhou Mian: "Yeah, what does that have to do with me?"
Zhou Mian was somewhat helpless, and made up a lie to cover for me: "Um, Ling Jiao... I just called my dad, and my dad heard that some classmates were coming to my house to play, so he asked if Ling Miao would go with them, so you saw what happened."
"Uncle Zhou asked?" Ling Jiao raised her voice, her suspicious eyes moving back and forth between the three of us.
I opened my eyes and looked at Ling Jiao sincerely, and nodded desperately to strengthen my credibility.
"It's not convenient for Lingmiao, a girl, to come to your house to play," Ling Jiao thought for a moment and suddenly suggested, "How about this, you all go to my house on weekends. My house can accommodate her, so it makes sense for Lingmiao to come to my house to play. As long as you can play, it's fine, right? I have a game console at home..." She raised her eyebrows and said, "If you don't say anything, I'll take it as your consent."
"Well, this is not good, right? What will Uncle Ling think about Hongze and I, two boys?" Zhou Mian quickly grabbed Ling Jiao and refused.
Ling Jiao waved her hand nonchalantly and said, "It's okay. My dad is eager for you to come to my house and play with him."
“Well, this…”
Seeing Zhou Mian was speechless, I kicked Hongze with my foot, and Hongze looked at me with a "what are you doing" expression. I helplessly signaled him with my eyes to reject Ling Jiao's invitation.
Hongze tilted his head and looked at me for a long time, and finally said, "'Bread seller', we agreed to go to Zhou Mian's house."
"We can be flexible as agreed. How about we go to the restaurant to eat steak tonight?" Although Ling Jiao was talking to Hongze, her eyes were always looking at me, full of provocation.
The relieved expression on my face froze in an instant, and I licked my lips and smiled awkwardly.
"The one from last time?" Hongze's voice became louder. "Deal!"
"Eh? Hongze you!" Ling Jiao's eyes became fierce. I subconsciously looked away and changed the subject, "My shoelaces are loose..."
"No. My shoes have no laces." Hongze looked down and exposed me mercilessly.
"Hahaha... my 'elite', you're dazzled. Okay, go pack your things, and we can leave after you've packed up." Ling Jiao smiled coquettishly, patted the non-existent dust on my shoulder, and walked into the classroom first.
"What should we do now?" Zhou Mian looked at me helplessly.
I sighed and said helplessly, "What else can we do? Hasn't our prince already made a 'deal' with that overbearing young lady?"
"Eh? Can't make the deal?" Hongze, who was called, looked at us consciously and asked with a puzzled look on his face.
Seeing him like this, I was so angry that I gritted my teeth and said, "Yes, of course I can. If you say I can, I can!" After that, I raised my leg and walked towards the classroom. When I passed Hongze, I stepped hard on his foot.
"Hey, why did you step on me? Just say it if you are angry!" Hongze shouted behind me. I was too lazy to pay attention to him and walked straight into the classroom.
I shoved everything on the table and in the drawer, useful or useless, into my schoolbag. In my heart, I cursed Hongze repeatedly: This guy, I was right, a steak meal really seduced him away! What's even more infuriating is that this guy has no self-awareness at all!
After putting away my things, I turned around and looked at Hongze, who was sitting in his seat with nothing to do. He was teasing a bird that had flown to the windowsill with wheat that he had found from somewhere. The bird was pecking at the wheat ears. Someone dragged the table and chairs, making a loud noise. The bird was startled and spread its wings, flew away, and disappeared into the empty white space.
