Chapter 89: End of the text
Xiaoxiao's business was not finished, so she sent a message to Chen Yun in the middle of the night to ask for leave.
At this point she was already unconscious in sleep, and only replied "OK" when she woke up in the morning, then looked around for a strong laborer.
When Song Fenglin came back from his morning exercise, he saw that the restaurant was clearly set up as a "Hongmen Banquet".
He put the water cup on the table: "Are you ready for breakfast?"
Chen Yun used her hands as if to splash water, except that her palms were facing upwards. She sat down and bowed politely: "Please eat."
Song Fenglin pulled out a chair and sat down, understanding: "What do you need me to do?"
Chen Yun clicked his tongue: "Can't it be that you have a good wife?"
Song Fenglin: "Yes, I do."
That was more like it. Chen Yun held his chin with one hand: "Xiaoxiao is not coming today."
Song Fenglin knew what he meant, and bit off half of the sandwich in one bite, expressing his understanding with his actions.
Chen Yun was afraid that he would choke, so she said, "Eat slowly."
Song Fenglin was busy chewing and had no mouth to speak, so he nodded to show that he understood.
Chen Yun pushed the milk to him: "I'm going to work first, you take your time."
Song Fenglin was anxious to speak, but he choked on the food and started coughing loudly.
Chen Yun patted his back, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: "Be careful."
Song Fenglin recovered and waved one hand: "Wait for me, I'll be there soon."
Perhaps it was because of the physiological tears in the corners of his eyes that he looked very pitiful.
Chen Yun said her refusal and poked his shoulder: "We are not primary school students. We still have to walk hand in hand."
Song Fenglin coughed twice again, grabbed the corner of her clothes and repeated: "Right away."
He was afraid that he would be left behind if he was a step late, and that he would be disliked if he was late.
Chen Yun squatted down, her chin almost resting on his knees: "I know, I'll wait for you."
She seemed a little helpless and indulgent about his clinginess.
Perhaps because he was looking down at her, Song Fenglin suddenly had the illusion that he could control her.
But the next second, Chen Yun told him that it was just a fantasy.
She said, "Taking it slow doesn't mean you should just sit there and stare blankly."
Song Fenglin stood up subconsciously, and with such a big movement that his kneecap hit the angle of Chen Yun's jaw.
Chen Yun didn't bite his tongue, but he felt a buzzing in his head. Due to inertia, he fell backwards and fell on his butt.
Although it was obviously painful, she still wanted to laugh. She patted Song Fenglin's hand and tried to pull hers: "Look what you've done."
Song Fenglin apologized smoothly and touched her chin: "It hurts, right? It definitely hurts."
Chen Yun used his help to stand up: "I should be the one to answer!"
Song Fenglin never talked back, let alone he was in a state of making mistakes.
He was more cautious than the kids who got into trouble and were caught by their mothers, and his head drooped.
Chen Yun patted the back of his head and said, "If you don't hurry up, you'll be charged with two crimes in the morning."
Song Fenglin wanted to be quick, so he took a step forward and looked back at her.
Chen Yun had only imagined such a scene when her daughter went to kindergarten on her first day.
But Chen Xingyue's parents had done a lot of psychological preparation in advance. When she entered a new chapter of her life, she didn't cry at all. She was led by the teacher in a daze, thinking that she was just going to the naughty castle. When she wanted to grow up, she ran to the playground to see her grandparents outside the railings and then went back to the classroom.
The old couple failed to convince each other to take turns standing guard, so they moved two small stools and sat on them for the entire day, accompanying their granddaughter through the first week of her school years.
Was there such a moment in Song Fenglin’s childhood?
Chen Yun thought: No.
She softened her heart unconsciously and said what he wanted to hear: "I'll sit here and wait for you."
Song Fenglin took a quick shower and didn't even have his clothes on when he came out.
He put on his T-shirt and nimbly poked his head out of the collar.
Chen Yun looked at him with a smile and folded her arms, looking him up and down.
Song Fenglin felt uneasy when he saw this. He touched here and looked there, and finally couldn't help but said, "I'm fine, I can go."
Chen Yun didn't say anything. She put on her shoes and then said, "Your clothes are inside out."
It was true. Song Fenglin didn't find the correct answer just now. After she reminded him, he realized it. He pulled his arms inward and turned the clothes on the spot.
Chen Yun commented: "Although you are not very humorous, you are really funny sometimes."
Is this a compliment? Song Fenglin took it as it was and let her lead him like a little chick, walking slowly.
Being late is a very desperate thing, but Chen Yun is not in a hurry at all. When she meets the parents of her son's classmates in the community, she stops to chat with them. They hold hands and look at each other with tears in their eyes. Their common wish is to start school earlier.
Talking about the start of school, Chen Yun said after continuing on the road: "My parents will still live in their hometown for a while after school starts. Are you ok with this?"
Song Fenglin: "No problem. We are supposed to take care of the child ourselves."
He has never been supported by anyone, so subconsciously he does not expect anything from anyone. He feels that each generation has its own responsibilities, and they have occupied the free time of their elders for a long time.
Although Chen Yun was grateful to her parents, she did not feel much guilt. However, this did not stop her from still hoping that they could relax for a while.
She said, "Everything else is easy to arrange, except that you have to pick up our daughter at noon, and I will go back to cook."
Song Fenglin wanted to take on too much, but his ability did not allow it. What's more, the school lunch break was only an hour and a half, so it was inevitable that he could not make time for it.
He nodded in agreement with the arrangement: "I can ride my dad's electric bike."
If he hadn't mentioned it, Chen Yun would have almost forgotten that his dad had a part-time job. He said, "Then when you're free in the next two days, unpack the takeout boxes."
The two chatted about family matters as they walked to the coffee shop and went to their respective posts.
It was almost time for lunch when Zhang Songjing suddenly appeared.
She has been busy launching a new project recently and almost sleeps in the company every day. Chen Yun hadn't seen her for a while and asked, "How come you are free to come today?" Zhang Songjing
: "I was in a bad mood and skipped work."
She and Song Fenglin are old classmates, so there is no need to be cautious when talking: "Fenglin, do you have any objection to your wife accompanying me at noon?"
Song Fenglin: "You guys go, I'll look after the store."
Chen Yun shook his hand when she passed by him: "You order takeout yourself."
She took a pack of tissues and stuffed it in her pocket, without even picking up the bag, and called Zhang Songjing: "Let's go, I'll treat you to a meal."
Zhang Songjing floated behind her like a ghost, complaining all the time.
She was exhausted by her work and now she was dissatisfied with the whole world. After ordering her meal at the light meal restaurant next to the coffee shop, she traced back to the source and even dragged out her boyfriend who she had broken up with many years ago and scolded him: "If it weren't for He Tai, I would never have wanted to be a strong woman."
She mentioned it nonchalantly, proving that the grudges were over.
Chen Yun: "The good news is that at least you have a lot of money."
Zhang Songjing is not bound by the constraints of marriage and childbirth, and she is strong enough. Among her classmates, several have encountered great opportunities, and her income is among the highest among those who are still working.
She could only rely on money to feel a little comforted. She took a sip of water and said, "But He Tai did a good thing."
It was about to rain red. Chen Yun said, "You actually praised him?"
Zhang Songjing said, "At least he introduced you to a good partner."
That was indeed a great achievement of his. Chen Yun had to admit it.
At this point, Zhang Songjing happened to bring up some past events: "I didn't expect that you two could get married."
After all, when the two of them sat there, you could see their completely different personalities.
Chen Yun took a bite of noodles and said, "I didn't expect that myself."
Destiny is such a magical thing that even the person involved may not be able to figure out the reasons behind it.
Zhang Songjing sighed: "The one with the best result is the least favored."
Chen Yun: "We haven't reached the result yet."
What does that mean? Zhang Songjing: "Did you have a fight recently?"
Chen Yun ignored it and said, "Life is still so long, who can predict what will happen in the future."
She laughed at herself when she said this, "I used to think that things like eternity are not something people should think about. People stay together if they are compatible, and separate if they are not. Now I'm not so free and easy."
Zhang Songjing: "Are you not free and easy or are you reluctant to let go?"
She is a single person and even gives emotional counseling to others. What she said was to the point. Chen Yun couldn't refute it and could only get a little angry: "I regret it, you pay for it."
Zhang Songjing's biggest thoughts now are money and gossip. She leaned closer: "There's something wrong with you."
Chen Yun admitted frankly: "Yes, a little."
She was so straightforward that Zhang Songjing couldn't even tease her.
She probably hadn't said anything sentimental for a long time. She cleared her throat and organized her words with a hum, "Although I haven't encountered love, I believe there are still people in the world who have it."
After she finished saying that, she shook off the goose bumps on her body and felt that it was a bit corny and scary.
Does this look like belief? Chen Yun: "You say this as if someone has a knife at your neck."
Zhang Songjing: "In a society ruled by law, who dares?"
No wonder he is a leader. Even if he talks nonsense, his logic is irrefutable.
Song Fenglin, who graduated from the same university, did not have this kind of responsiveness. He could only raise his finger and swear that every word he said was sincere. He was so clumsy that only sincerity remained.
Chen Yun's sense of humor was no less impressive. She raised her hand and placed it across her neck: "I dare."
Zhang Songjing shouted that she would call the police. After having a cheerful lunch, she returned to the company with a feeling of resentment.
Chen Yun watched her get into the car under the shade of a tree, then turned around to meet Song Fenglin's gaze.
Perhaps he was afraid of appearing to be urging her, so he quickly looked up at the sky and pretended nothing had happened.
But with just a wave of Chen Yun's hand, he could move over quickly.
Chen Yun just took a step forward, and the shadows of the two people overlapped.
She looked down and then looked up again: "I haven't seen you for half an hour, and I feel that you have become more handsome."
Song Fenglin probably would not be able to figure out what this meant by beauty in the eyes of the beholder, but it didn't matter, he had a lifetime to figure it out.
