Chapter 80 Going Underground
"Let's go!" Fu shouted, put on her backpack with one hand, and rushed out of the camp holding Ailan with the other.
When Shalan saw the people from Rosenberg University rushing out of the camp, he had already rushed out with his backpack on his back. He had the habit brought over from his previous life, and when setting up the tent, he only took out his own tent and did not take out other things from his backpack. Therefore, when he found something wrong, he picked up his backpack and rushed out.
As for the others, they were not as skilled as him. Fu was still okay, and Ailan just managed to put on her backpack, and she had no time to put back the things she had taken out. The others all took out some things, more or less, except Gro and Amanda, who were just doing something in the tent, and only had time to come out of the tent and put on their shoes, and they didn't have time to take out their things at all.
The nine people from Birona University and the dozen people from Rosenberg University gathered together , looking at the tide of snakes swimming in from all directions, and everyone's face looked extremely ugly.
Shalan looked at the astonishing number of snakes. He couldn't imagine how so many snakes came into being in this valley. Under normal circumstances, it was impossible for so many snakes to be bred naturally. It could only be that extraordinary power interfered and catalyzed it, otherwise so many snakes would not be able to exist in this place.
"The direction we are coming from is full of snakes. The camps on both sides have also been occupied by snakes. Only the ruins have only a few snakes. If we don't want to die now, we must unite together and run towards the ruins. Only then will we have a chance of survival!"
Fu listened to what Guona said and immediately nodded and said, "You are right, let's go now, there is no time to waste!"
After making the decision, Fu and Guona immediately led their respective teams and rushed towards the ruins. Along the way, they could see poisonous snakes, but although they were afraid, they didn't care about that.
Looking at the increasing number of poisonous snakes in front of him, Shalan did not care about anything else. He pulled out the cross sword covered with cloth that was fixed on his backpack with his backhand. The sword body trembled slightly, and he slapped away a poisonous snake that was shooting towards his thigh with one sword. He continued to rush forward with Fu and Ailan. Along the way, Shalan kept drawing his sword and slapped away all the poisonous snakes within his ability. But even so, Shalan heard many screams and cries for help along the way. He could only take care of himself and the people around him at most. As for those who were too far away from him, Shalan could only say sorry.
The location where the camp was built was not far from the entrance of the ruins, and soon everyone found the entrance . It was a pit on the ground. Below the pit was a circular passage with a moderate angle, which could lead directly into the underground to the location of the ruins.
As everyone looked at the snakes approaching, they finally decided to go under the ruins to avoid the snake tide. Those who still had flashlights took them out and quickly walked down the smooth passage.
Shalan walked in the middle area. He held up his flashlight and consciously paid attention to the movements of the snakes. When he found that the snakes only stayed near the entrance of the underground ruins and showed no signs of wanting to enter, unlike the others who looked happy, Shalan's face became solemn.
There are only two possible results for this. Either the snakes were controlled by someone to drive them into the ruins, or there was something under the ruins that the snakes did not want to approach and were very afraid of. No matter which of the two possibilities it was, Shalan felt that what was waiting for him and these survivors might be a life-or-death ending.
Among the survivors of the two school archaeological teams, Shalan was not the only one who had figured out the matter. Fu had obviously thought of something, but she obviously took into account the emotional issues of the people present and did not point it out.
After more than ten minutes, everyone finally reached the point where the slope that had been downward suddenly became flat.
Standing at the bottom of the ramp, everyone looked around with flashlights and did not move forward. After all, no one was a fool. If they had not thought of the relationship between the snakes and the underground ruins just now, they would have some doubts now and naturally would not want to move forward.
"Fu, why don't we just stay here and wait for rescue?"
"I don't think it's impossible. If we don't get any news for a long time, the people outside will definitely notify others to come to the rescue. It's just..."
At this point, Fu glanced at the people from Rosenberg University who obviously had very little on them, and continued, "But our original plan was for half a month. Can the people outside really come here to rescue us quickly? I have my doubts. Moreover, if the snake tide outside does not recede, it will not be so easy for the outsiders to come in. If the time is delayed too long, we can't stay here for a month or two."
Fu did not explicitly mention things like the equipment, food, and water sources they were carrying, but Guona was no fool. He took a look at what the team members behind him were carrying and immediately thought of the problem of insufficient water and food. Moreover, although the people from the University of Birona carried a lot of things, it did not mean that they could really share them equally. Once a conflict occurred, many things would be completely out of control. At Guona's age, he would not hesitate to look at the people around him in the worst light.
"Fu, what you said makes sense. I just thought about it and it's better to continue moving forward and exploring for a while. This place is obviously not the real entrance to the ruins. If we can find the real entrance to the ruins, we will have a great chance of leaving here from the real entrance."
Hearing this, Fu naturally guessed Guona's intention, but she didn't say much. She originally wanted to continue exploring forward. After all, no one could guarantee that the snakes outside would not come down. Moreover, as Fu had just thought, if she stayed here, those people outside might not be able to come here at any time, which would make things very passive.
Just as Guona was about to continue talking to Fu, a teacher from Rosenberg University suddenly shouted to everyone from the direction close to the ruins: "Come over and take a look. The school emblem on this shirt seems to be the emblem of Birona University, right?"
