Chapter 8 You are the culprit, not her! Four
Xiao Mu's hometown is in a beautiful village with mountains and rivers. I chose to take the train. It is not as fast as the plane, so I have time to prepare myself mentally.
"Xiao Ya." I just sat down when I heard a familiar voice.
"Why are you here?" I looked at Xuan Yixin unhappily. He actually followed me.
"Houbao and I are here to accompany you!" Xuan Yixin said with a smile, then opened a big box beside him, and Houbao jumped out all of a sudden, and then jumped into my arms.
"Houbao, why are you here?" I held Houbao in my arms and finally smiled, but soon my face darkened and I looked at Xuan Yixin and asked, "Uncle Sun is willing to let you bring Houbao out?"
"That's for sure. How could I steal it? Monkey Bao is so smart." Xuan Yixin sat down next to me.
"Monkey baby, do you miss me?" Monkey baby kept twisting and turning on me and licking my face.
"Sir, pets are not allowed on the train." The attendant walked up to Xuan Yixin and said politely.
"Ah, please, please, don't do it again, it's very well behaved." Xuan Yixin stood up good-temperedly and kept begging the flight attendant.
"This is against the rules." The flight attendant still had a stern face.
The monkey was really well-behaved. He jumped down and bowed to the flight attendant, making the attendant laugh: "Well, the train has already started, but you have to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else."
"Houbao won't hurt anyone else." I promised the flight attendant while holding Houbao.
With Monkey Baby, the journey wasn't lonely or boring anymore. And with Xuan Yixin there to entertain me, even though I didn't pay much attention to him, he didn't mind.
I don't know saw through my thoughts, but he was teasing Xuan Yixin all the way, hiding his phone or stealing his pen. When we were about to get off the bus, Houbao even deliberately put Xuan Yixin's ID card into my bag, causing Xuan Yixin to scratch his head and look for it for a long time.
After getting off the train, I took a bus and it took more than an hour to reach Taoxi Village, Xiao Mu's hometown.
Taoxi Village is a very wealthy village. The roads are clean, the buildings are modern, the distant mountains are green, the nearby water is clear, and the large tracts of farmland make people feel full of hope for life.
Xiao Mu's home is at the innermost part of the village, in a three-story villa. Looking at such a magnificent building, I know that my great-grandfather will definitely ensure that they have enough food and clothing. However, even if I can guarantee them enough food and clothing, I can't give them a son in exchange.
"Who are you?" I rang the doorbell and a white-haired old woman came to open the door for me. Although she was old, she was still very strong and looked at me with tenderness.
"Hello, Auntie. I'm An Shiya... Are you Xiao Mu's mother?" I bit my lip and said slowly.
I was very scared, very scared that I would be beaten out. Xuan Yixin stepped forward and held my hand, and then continued my words: "Auntie, we want to come and see you and uncle."
"It's Xiaoya. I often hear Xiaomu mention you. Why are you here?" Auntie quickly opened the door for me, warmly invited Xuan Yixin and I in, and then shouted, "Dad, the eldest lady is here, please make two more delicious dishes."
"Auntie, please don't do this!" I said embarrassedly.
An old man with white hair came out of the room. He was dressed neatly and looked very strong. He put his hands behind his back and his waist was slightly hunched. His eyes were sharp. "It's the young lady from the An family."
"Hello, uncle." I walked up to my uncle, bowed and greeted him.
"Okay, all is well. Come in and burn some incense for Xiaomu." My uncle took me in with his hands behind his back, walked around the living room and into a small room where there were photos of Xiaomu and an incense burner. My uncle lit a stick of incense for me.
"Brother Xiao Mu, I came to see you." I looked at Xiao Mu's photo and couldn't hold back my tears anymore.
"Okay, okay, don't cry. We two old people have finally gotten better. You came all the way here, so don't cry." Auntie came in and persuaded me, then pulled me back to the living room.
"Uncle, aunt, I feel so sorry for you." I refused to sit down, and helped the two old people to sit down, and then continued, "I want to recognize you as my godparents, are you willing to recognize me as your daughter?"
"Oh, that's not possible." The uncle stood up first and waved his hand. "Ever since Xiaomu started working in this field, I knew it would be dangerous. The old man has been very good to us."
"Having parents is like having no parents. Brother Xiao Mu always says that you two are very loving and I'm very envious. Can you give me this opportunity to be your daughter?" I helped my uncle sit back.
"Uncle and aunt, Xiaoya did this because she sincerely wants to recognize you. She and Xiaomu are like siblings, so you should help her." Xuan Yixin advised.
"Old man, we have wanted a daughter all our lives but couldn't conceive. Unexpectedly, now that we are about to die , God has given us a daughter. Let's just accept her. Xiaomu will also agree with us." Aunt wiped her tears and said, pulling uncle's sleeve.
Uncle patted aunt's hand and nodded.
I knelt on the ground, kowtowed three times, and shouted, "Godfather, Godmother, you should treat me as your own daughter from now on. I will always take good care of you."
"Get up, get up, my dear daughter. Godmother has a silver bracelet here. It's not valuable, but I've worn it for several years. I'm giving it to you. I'm in such a hurry that I haven't prepared anything else, but how can I not give something to someone I recognize as my godparent?" Godmother took off a dark silver bracelet and handed it to me.
"Thank you, godmother." I put the bracelet on my wrist and kowtowed again before standing up.
"Good daughter, have fun here for two days." Godmother touched my hand and said with a kind smile.
I stayed in Taoxi Village for three or four days and really didn't want to leave.
But I also knew that I couldn't live in Taoxi Village forever, and my godparents were determined not to leave with me. They said that their roots were in Taoxi Village and they would never leave. So Xuan Yixin and I had no choice but to take Monkey Baby and reluctantly set out on the road home.
