Chapter 8 The Baron's Ambition Part 1
After returning to the dormitory, the more I thought about it, the more frightened I felt. Maybe Baron Rosa really was a secret weapon sent by my grandfather to make me his fiancée.
Based on my understanding of my grandfather, this old fox, he would definitely not let me come to this unrelated Ander College for no reason. There must be something in this college that is worth setting a trap for him.
And this Baron Rosa appeared so suddenly, and was an exchange student just like me, so maybe he really is the fiancé my grandfather arranged for me.
You want to suppress me with your beauty? Humph, forget it! No matter how elegant this baron is, he is not as good as Joseph!
In my mind, besides my grandfather and Hoss, Joseph is the person closest to me. He is the only one who always protects me at all costs. No matter how big a disaster I get into, he can always solve it. Now, my classmates at Ande College are not only not as repulsive to me as before, but they like to talk to me more and more. After the firefighting incident, I even have many more fans.
By the way, did I forget something important?
Oh, God! I haven't reported to him the gossip Joseph asked me to get about Baron Rosa.
Woohoo! I don't even know if he has finished counting the roses.
So I hurried to the gossip club and finally found Joseph behind a big office chair with an unhappy expression on his face and a pen biting fiercely in his mouth.
"Uh..." I walked forward a little nervously. How many roses did he count just now? He didn't want to pin the crime on me, did he? His eyes were not right. "I got some gossip about Baron Rosa! Should I report it to you?"
"Oh! I didn't expect that our Miss Wen would still remember the task I assigned to you despite her busy schedule." Joseph sneered disdainfully, and his tone was harsh. Even someone like me who is not familiar with Eastern culture could hear that his words were full of sarcasm.
"Hehe! Don't say that. I will definitely go through fire and water for the task assigned by His Highness!" I could only flatter him with a servile smile. It's better not to offend Joseph now. "I have found out that Baron Rosa doesn't like silly girls who can only fall down, nor does he like dumb girls who can only smell flowers. Besides, he is quite humorous. And, his social etiquette teacher is Mrs. Hillman like me! We also talked about a lot of embarrassing things when we were learning etiquette. Did you know? In order to practice standing, he actually stood in the hot sun for an hour with a bowl on his head..."
By the end, I was becoming less and less confident, because the fire in Joseph's eyes was almost burning me to ashes.
"It seems like you guys had a very pleasant conversation!" Joseph smiled grimly, and the temperature of his words was definitely N degrees below zero, which gave me goosebumps.
"It's, it's okay!" Hearing that, I could only swallow hard and try to keep myself calm.
"Do roses smell good? Just accepting roses from boys, is that what your Mrs. Hillman taught you?" Joseph said sarcastically with gritted teeth.
Woo woo, I said, he really blamed me for counting the roses.
" Did you enjoy your candlelight dinner with Baron Rosa? Did you enjoy your walk in the garden? It turns out that you upper-class people can date so blatantly! Are you allowed to date at such a young age?" Joseph said as he stood up and glared at me, pushing me into a corner. Finally, with a "bang", he trapped me in his arms and angrily shouted, "Tell me, do you also want to fish for this gold mine of Baron Rosa?"
Hearing this, I shook my head in panic. Oh my God! What's wrong with Joseph? How could I possibly fall for a boy like Rosa who has such a flamboyant personality? Just thinking about seeing a seductive guy like him who has been hanging around with girls since he was a child is terrifying.
"I would rather die than fall for a young master like Baron Rosa." I quickly denied. Joseph wouldn't want me to get close to this baron again, would he? "Besides, I went to see Baron Rosa because you coerced and bribed me. Normally, when I see such an annoying and arrogant young master, I can't avoid him."
Having said that, I raised my head firmly and met Joseph's sharp eagle eyes. He couldn't force me to approach Baron Rosa anymore.
"Haha!" After hearing my accusation, Joseph laughed for no apparent reason. Uh, was he scared silly by me? "Annoying and arrogant? Are you talking about yourself, Miss Wen?"
With a "hiss" of lightning, I glared at Joseph with murderous eyes, this heartless bastard. I worked so hard to dig up gossip for him, but he actually made fun of me.
"Okay! Since you are not interested in this Baron Rosa, I will show you something." Instead of being frightened by my murderous aura, Joseph smiled very proudly, turned around, and handed me one of his notebooks.
I still glared at Joseph reluctantly, then I lowered my head to look at the information Joseph had written in the notebook.
"Rosa, an Austrian hereditary baron, 18 years old. She came to Ande College as an exchange student. She has a strong personality and is a proud winner in life. She speaks and behaves elegantly, and is a living example of the upper class. She has a hobby of collecting!"
"What is collectorism?" I looked at Joseph curiously. I have heard of "cleanliness" and "eccentricity", but this is the first time I have heard of collectorism.
"He just loves collecting things, and he will do whatever it takes to collect them. I heard that as long as it's rare and he thinks it's interesting, he will collect it at all costs, completely disregarding any moral or legal constraints." Joseph said, raising his eyebrows at me, as if to signal me to be more careful.
With a "ding" sound, a broken string in my mind suddenly connected. Rosa just said that I would be his best collection. Could it be that he wanted to make me into a human specimen and collect it?
"Ahhh..." I screamed in disbelief, covering my ears and closing my eyes, not daring to face this horrible fact. Help! How could someone be made into a specimen when he hasn't even won the Nobel Prize?
"What are you doing?" Joseph grabbed me with a dazed look on his face, looking at me with a frown, totally unable to understand why I suddenly went crazy.
"That Rosa said that I would be his best collection." I looked at Joseph and said pitifully, help me, he doesn't want to die like this, "What should I do? Joseph, he might make me into a specimen. This Baron Rosa, it turns out he is a pervert!"
Hearing this, Joseph's contemptuous eyes emitted at least a million watts of electricity. I felt as if my hair was singed by his glare and was smoking!
"What the hell is in your head? Who told you that collectibles have to be made into specimens?" Joseph said unhappily.
How can we collect it if it is not made into a specimen?
However, looking at my stunned expression, Joseph suddenly sighed heavily.
"You know what? I also learned that Baron Rosa came to Ander College this time to choose a fiancée. He said he wanted to keep you away, what does that mean?" Joseph said with a heavy heart, his eyes a little empty, as if there was a tough battle ahead and his safety was uncertain.
"Choosing a fiancée? How could he, a hereditary baron of Austria, come to an ordinary college like Ander College to choose his future baroness? His fiancée must be a powerful or financially wealthy lady." I was also a little puzzled. How could this baron family allow him to come to Ander College to choose a fiancée?
Hearing this, Joseph glared at me with disdain.
I looked at him in confusion. Did I say something wrong? What I said was my opinion as the eldest daughter of the Wen family!
Finally, Joseph sighed at me speechlessly, and knocked me on the head with a smile: "If you keep being stupid, you will become Ender's public enemy sooner or later."
I was hit by a slap for no reason, and I rubbed my head in grievance! How could I be stupid? I was so smart that I could immediately figure out that Baron Rosa couldn't choose his fiancée here, how could I be stupid? Humph!
Joseph didn't say anything, but still half-closed his eyes, with a look of complete contempt for me, which made me shrink my neck in horror.
"By the way, how did you dig up all this?" I had no idea why Joseph despised me, so I could only change the subject. If this information was true, it would be a huge bombshell ! Compared to the etiquette anecdotes I got out of it, it was a hundred times more meaningful!
"Humph!" Joseph said lazily with another ruthless contempt, "Do you think I would just sit there and count roses? I just want to take this opportunity to get some useful gossip out of those bodyguards!"
"Joseph, you are worthy of being the king of gossip, you are really amazing!" Hearing this, I looked at Joseph with admiration and flattery. I said that Joseph is not the kind of person who would just admit defeat, he must have his own plan!
"That's right. There is no gossip in this world that I can't dig out!" After being praised by me, Joseph became very proud, like a proud peacock, spreading his feathers. He is the only one in this world!
I looked at him quietly, blinking my starry eyes and looking at Joseph with a smile on my face.
"Okay!" Seeing my unusually bright eyes, Joseph immediately knew what I meant. He rolled his eyes at me unceremoniously and said lazily, "Don't contact Rosa anymore in the future. Participate in more group activities and don't go out on your own. Leave the rest to me. Don't worry !"
I jumped up excitedly: "I knew it, Joseph is the best."
Haha! Finally I don’t have to be a specimen anymore.
I couldn't help but look at Joseph again. Why, no matter how difficult the problem was, Joseph could always solve it easily? Although he always ignored me, he always silently helped me to overcome all difficulties. He was really like a brave knight, who cut through all difficulties just to make the smile stay on the princess's face forever and let the princess live happily in the castle forever.
