Chapter 7: The Little Ghost Reincarnates

"Where did you come from, little bastard, to actually have the audacity to attack me?"
There was a shout from outside the broken door, and then the big head stuck in again. This time I could see clearly that it was an unkempt old man with a scruffy beard, wearing a tattered Taoist outfit, a sword on his back, a gourd hanging on his left waist, and a bell hanging on his right waist.
"Are you a human or a ghost?"
I shouted nervously. I had thrown the wrench away, and now I had nothing to defend myself with.
The old man came in through the broken door. I blinked and he was right in front of me, almost touching my face. I was so scared that my heart almost jumped out of my throat. The old man looked quite old, but there was not a single wrinkle on his face. He was just quite sloppy, with a stubbled beard and messy hair.
"Of course I am a human being, but you little bastard, are you a human or a ghost?"
"You are the fucking bastard. I am also a human being."
The old man chuckled twice, and his laugh was very obscene, like an old pervert seeing a pretty girl. I quickly touched my belt and remembered that I had thrown the wrench just now. However, such a big wrench hit the old man's head, and the old man seemed to be fine except for the scream just now.
Damn, is this old guy really a human?
"What are you laughing at? I am a pure man, purer than gold."
The old man shrank his neck and glared at me with his eyes rolled.
"You're a half-human, half-ghost little bastard, your mind is quite dirty."

I was stunned. What a stinky old man! This sentence was equivalent to cursing me three times. I rolled my eyes, glared at him, and cursed: "You stinky old man, dirty, disrespectful, neither human nor ghost."
"Hey hey!"
The old man groaned in surprise and leaned forward. His messy long hair almost touched my face. I reached out to push him away, but his body didn't move at all. I couldn't help but get angry, but I had to hold the flashlight in one hand, so I could only push him with one hand.
I gritted my teeth and said, "You old man, you are so skinny that you can be blown away by the wind. I don't believe that I can't push you away?"
I used my arms to push hard, but the old stinky guy didn't move at all. Damn, this guy's body is made of stone, how can it be so heavy?
"Hey, you look pretty strong, brat, but I didn't expect you to be so useless."
The stinky old man sneered with his eyes squinting.
I cursed, put the flashlight in my mouth and bit it, then pressed the old man's body with both hands at the same time, and then suddenly exerted force. Unexpectedly, the rock-hard resistance just now suddenly disappeared, and I rushed forward and fell to the ground. The flashlight hit my mouth hard and almost knocked out all my teeth.
I quickly turned over and lay on the ground, pulled out the flashlight, threw it aside, then pinched my mouth with both hands. Damn it, it hurts so much.
"Hahaha, you little brat doesn't know how to respect the elderly and love the young, you deserve it."
I heard the old man's laughter from the corner. I quickly grabbed the flashlight and shone it over. The old man was leaning against the wall, holding a gourd. A strong smell of alcohol emanated from his broken gourd. He raised his head and took a big sip of the wine, then wiped his mouth, glared at me and said, "You're finished, little bastard."
Well?
I was stunned, and then I cursed, "You old fool, you are half buried in the ground . No, the ground has buried you to your heart. You are the one who is doomed."
The stinky old man laughed, and it made me feel creepy. He raised his head and took another big gulp of wine, then looked at me and shook his big head.
I felt more and more upset, so I stood up, patted my butt, glared at the stinky old man, and shouted, "Stinky old man, are you a human or a ghost?"
The old man shook the wine gourd, lifted it up and licked it with his tongue. The wine inside seemed to have finished. He hung the gourd back on his waist, and then looked at me with a smile on his stubbled face.
"Of course I'm a human. If I were a ghost, I would have swallowed you up long ago. I wouldn't have the time to chat with you here."
I thought about it and realized that this was true. If the old guy was a ghost, there would be no need for him to waste time with me. He could have knocked me down, killed me, or eaten me long ago.
But if the old man was a human, the huge wrench didn't kill him, and I couldn't push him even with all my strength. And he could move several meters with just a dodging. How could this be?

Looking at his shabby Taoist attire, could he be a Taoist priest who specializes in catching ghosts?
"Stinky old man, you're not a ghost? Then you're a Taoist priest, are you here to catch ghosts?"
I asked carefully.
"That's right, I am a Taoist priest, and also a hunter on patrol. I am here to catch the little ghost."
I couldn't help but feel happy. The stinky old man was here to catch ghosts. I was saved. I forced a smile and said, "Master, there are really ghosts here. I just encountered a female ghost and was almost killed ."
"Hey, even if the little devil didn't kill you, you won't live for a few days."
The stinky old man chuckled.
I was stunned. What the hell was this supposed to mean? The old man had a smile on his face, but he didn't look like he was trying to scare me. And he had no reason to say anything to scare me.
"Hey, you old man, what do you mean by that? I'm only 22 years old, in the prime of my life, handsome, and talented..."
"What's all this mess?"
Before I could finish my words, the stinky old man glared at me and yelled.
I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. I haven't read many books and I don't have much knowledge. I don't have much literature, and I was a little anxious just now, so I said something without thinking.
"Master, you said I won't live for a few days, what do you mean? I'm fine, I have no illness or disaster, I'm in good health, and I haven't done anything bad."
I forced a smile and asked.
"Were you born on the Ghost Festival?"
I was stunned. Why did you ask this all of a sudden? I frowned and asked, "What the hell is the Zhongyuan Festival?"
The stinky old man raised his eyebrows, shook his head and said, "It's terrible to be uneducated."
I was furious and wanted to scold him, but I held back. I smiled and said, "My family was poor when I was young, so I didn't have much education."
The stinky old man put away the mocking look in his eyes, looked at me and said: "The Zhongyuan Festival is the Ghost Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is the 15th day of the seventh lunar month."
"Oh, I know that. Yes, I was born on the Ghost Festival, July 15th. Taoist priest, how did you know that?"
I asked in some surprise .
The stinky old man chuckled twice, looked me up and down, and said with a smile: "Look at you, you were born on the Ghost Festival, a ghost reincarnated, neither a human nor a ghost."
I couldn't help but be stunned. What does that mean?
