Chapter 7 Conspiracy
Chapter 7 Conspiracy
The manor of McCas is not in Morton Town. It takes three days to get to Zouda Manor from here. Although Earl McCas has proposed a special car to pick her up, Selsey refused. The things of the nobles are always full of cumbersome etiquette and complicated human relationships. She doesn't like the constraints of these clauses.
If it weren't for the material, she wouldn't go to a tyrannical noble manor.
Selsey decided to set off early tomorrow morning. Now she wants to take a good look around the town.
She is now in the westernmost part of the town, where most civilians live.
The more east you go, the more rich people there are, because that is the direction where the earl lives.
After walking around the town, she found it strange why there are so few residents in the west. Normally, civilian families should have more children to provide sufficient labor.
She found a person who was setting up a stall and bought a magic map. The magic map can indicate the shortest distance to the destination for the holder.
When the boss was looking for money, she asked why there were so few residents here. The boss said without raising his head, "They all went to attend the lord's banquet."
Selsey was surprised. A noble would let civilians attend the banquet? Not to mention that this lord is also known to be brutal.
The old man took a puff of the cigarette beside his mouth, "You can tell at a glance that he is not from here. The lord will show us special favors every month and let us commoners experience the upper-class culture to stimulate their enthusiasm for work. Something like 'as long as you work hard, you can also make money and become rich' "
"Oh, this sounds fake, only those ignorant people would go there, thinking that if they can just take something, they can live a life of wealth and glory, but it is not so easy to take the nobles' things."
Selsi heard the old man say that he saw through the essence of the banquet, which was nothing more than letting the commoners entertain the nobles, but his eyes revealed desire.
"Then they won't come back?" Selsi asked.
"Hey kid, what are you talking about? Who will come back to this shabby place after they get the money? They all move to the rich area."
"Then why don't you go, grandpa?"
"I'm a lonely family with only a three-year-old grandson. Who will take care of him if I go? What about his father..."
Selsey took the map and said goodbye to the old man. On the way back to the hotel, she wondered about the real purpose of Max's invitation to the common people to attend the banquet. She always felt that it was not as simple as having fun.
The sun and the moon alternated, and Selsey stood in front of the manor.
White wooden fences, green lawns, high foyer and magnificent gate, innate romance and solemn temperament, magnificent castle, the ultimate luxury in the world.
The beautiful and uplifting music coming from the front hall welcomed the arrival of the distinguished guests.
In contrast to the lively manor, the depression in the study was the opposite.
"Asshole!"
An empty goblet fell at Valeria's feet.
"Why didn't you help your brother deal with that matter?"
McCas said angrily to his daughter. He was very angry. She didn't help him deal with Kahar's trouble and murder. Now the lords of other places know about this matter. Now they are using it to ridicule him openly and secretly, which makes him extremely ashamed.
Valeria didn't say anything, but her brother Kahar stood by and didn't care about it.
"Deal with this matter for me before tomorrow!"
McCas gave her a final ultimatum.
Just when he wanted to continue to lose his temper, there was a knock on the door.
"My Lord, Miss Evangeline is here,"
McCas said impatiently. "Evangeline, who is this person?"
The servant reminded carefully, "It's the bard you invited."
The servant didn't dare to speak loudly, for fear of poking McCas's self-esteem and causing disaster.
"Evangeline, Ivan... Oh, I remember, please invite her in."
Hearing that the VIP he invited was here, McCas immediately changed his face to a smiling face.
He stood up from the chair, without even looking at his two children, and walked out of the study with a light gait.
The study did not relax a bit because of the owner's departure, but became more depressing.
"See? My dear sister, do you see the attitude of father towards you?"
The young man retracted his laziness at this time, and the air pressure in his body sent out a spike. "No matter how hard you try, you are just a tool for me to wipe my ass. Father will never give you the inheritance."
His eyes flashed with greed, and his dear sister just looked at him like an idiot.
"Puchi."
She lowered her head and covered her mouth with her hands and laughed. Her smile angered the man's eyes.
"What do you mean!"
He hated this sister who was much better than him since childhood, but no matter how good she was, it was useless. She was just a toy for him to clean up. Thinking of this, he put away the sting in his eyes and smiled evilly.
"No matter how outstanding you are, my father's title must be inherited by me. You will be nothing but a poor creature who depends on my charity."
He thought his words could irritate Valeria, but she still looked at him like an idiot. Kahar felt guilty.
"Why are you staring at me? I'll teach you a lesson in the future." After saying these harmless words, he hurriedly fled from the study.
"Why should I be afraid of that bitch?" Kahar, who ran out of the study, only reacted at this time, but he couldn't go back to the past, so he had to pack himself up in annoyance to welcome the guests.
After seeing her brother going crazy in the study, Valeria sneered, "Idiot, do you really think you can inherit your father's title? This old man only cares about himself."
Valeria knew her father's secret clearly. She wanted to inherit the title, and the obstacle would never be this stupid "brother", but her living father.
As long as her father died, she could take the title with a wave of her hand. I heard that the bounty she set was accepted. I wonder if this banquet will be more interesting?
She walked out of the study, called the servants to come up and clean the room, straightened her skirt, and went downstairs to greet the guests who were about to come on stage.
