Chapter 6 Garage
Greg's face was full of seriousness. He suppressed his anger and stared at Song Yang across the desk. "That money was the last thing Catherine left. You want to squander it now?!"
Catherine is Song Yang's mother and the youngest of Greg's siblings. When old Bruno and his wife were busy outside, it was basically Greg who took care of Catherine, so they naturally had a close relationship.
Song Yang didn't dodge and looked into Greg's eyes, "I need that money, not to squander it!"
Song Yang and Greg stared at each other for a while. Greg looked at Song Yang, whose face was serious and didn't seem to be joking, and finally spoke slowly, "Why?"
Feeling relieved, Song Yang felt that this original body was indeed quite afraid of his cheap uncle Greg, and his calves were trembling unconsciously just now.
Song Yang repeated what he said to Gallo to Greg, and Greg was a little confused after hearing it. Of course he knew about computers, as the small law firm he worked for had already started using computers for office work. But what Song Yang said about Internet companies, websites, digital advertising and the like made Greg a little confused. “It’s an Internet advertising media company.”
Song Yang corrected Greg's mistake, but Greg didn't get confused anymore. He waved his hand and said, "It's an advertising company. Who are you going to advertise for and where are you going to advertise for?"
Song Yang felt a little headache for a moment because of the questions, but looking at Greg who looked serious, Song Yang saw a bill from Los Insurance, one of the top ten insurance giants in America, on Greg's desk.
This bill cost Greg thousands of dollars, of course including Song Yang's share. This is something Greg has to pay every year and he cannot avoid it as long as he is in America.
Pointing at the Los Insurance bill, Song Yang looked at Greg and said, "Maybe in the future, Los Insurance will also advertise on Microsoft through an Internet advertising company!"
Hearing Song Yang's words, Greg couldn't help but chuckle. He felt that Song Yang was joking. Of course, he was familiar with Los Insurance. Every year, it sucked a large sum of money from him like a vampire.
As for Microsoft, Gleick had heard of it a long time ago. After all, the media had reported on it a lot, and there were rumors that Bill Gates might become the world's richest man this year.
When Greg heard that Song Yang wanted to let the vampire Los Insurance advertise through his Internet advertising company which didn't even exist yet, and then cooperate with Microsoft, he felt it was too unrealistic.
"Do you know how much money it costs to set up a company, how many procedures need to be handled, and how many people need to be hired..." Greg threw a lot of questions at Song Yang.
Song Yang listened to Greg's words and said something that made Greg speechless, "Don't we still have Uncle Greg?!"
Looking at Song Yang's eyes, Greg's eyes twitched violently. It turned out that Song Yang had already counted him as his cheap uncle.
Greg let out a long sigh and said a phrase that the most famous lawyer in his law firm and his boss often said, "My fees are very high!"
Song Yang simply spread his hands, meaning that Greg could write him a check at will, since the money was still in his hands anyway.
"What about the location? Even if I give you the compensation , it's probably not enough!"
Song Yang thought for a moment, then said, "I remember that the Bruno family has a garage next to Highway 7 in Harris County."
Greg glared at Song Yang. He felt that Song Yang was really rude. He was trying to pluck the feathers of the passing geese and was determined to make the Bruno family completely bald.
The old Bruno couple did not have much property. The garage was once the residence of the Bruno family. However, over the years, Greg and his family all started their own families, and the garage was basically left unused.
In the study, Greg thought about this matter. He felt it was a little unreliable, but looking at Song Yang's determined expression, this was the first time in so many years that Song Yang had formally talked to him about something.
"Song, you have to know what you are doing. You only have one chance!" Greg took a long breath and said to Song Yang with a serious tone.
"If there is no improvement in half a year, I will let go!" Song Yang also assured Greg that the survival cycle of the Internet industry has always been very short. If there is no improvement at the beginning, there will be no hope. Not to mention Song Yang's funds, I am afraid that it can only last that long at most.
"Twenty-seven thousand six hundred dollars. This is the compensation left by Catherine." When talking about this money, Greg's expression couldn't help but show a bit of sadness.
Seeing Greg getting ready to get up and take the money from the safe in the corner of the study, Song Yang said, "I will use this money well!"
Greg glanced at Song Yang, as if he was overthinking it, and took out a stack of US dollars from the safe and put it on the table, "Here is five thousand US dollars. You have to let me see you working, then you can get the funds later!"
Song Yang felt that Greg still didn't trust him, but Greg had no intention of changing his mind. He expected Song Yang to give all the money at once, and he felt that Song Yang was overthinking it.
"You'll see!" Song Yang said as he took the money.
At the baseball training ground of Devers School, Old Mark looked at Song Yang in front of him with a short breath, "You want to quit the school baseball team, do you know what you are saying?"
Song Yang will be very busy in the next period of time. He will probably have to take a long leave from Devers School, not to mention coming to practice baseball.
"I may have some problems with my condition and need to receive treatment. If I can get back to my condition, I will continue to return to the baseball team!"
Song Yang said to Old Mark. Seeing that the other members of the baseball team, including Stanton, were looking over here, Song Yang continued, "I like baseball. I want to be the next Rivera. I will not give up baseball unless the hospital gives me a notice!"
When he said the last sentence, Song Yang deliberately glanced at the bear-like Stanton. When the latter heard this, his eyes were about to spit fire. What did this mean? Was it all Stanton's fault for ruining a Rivera-like genius?
This is too much of a blame, even Stanton can't bear it. If the media gets to know about it, who knows how it will be spread.
Old Mark could understand the meaning of Song Yang's words. He knew that Song Yang was not going to continue working hard on the baseball field.
When Song Yang left the training ground, he said hello to everyone on the baseball team, then left Devers School and got into a car directly.
