Chapter 5: Sadness Hidden in the Dark Eternal Night 03
After a sleepless night, my eyes looked like the national treasure panda, with big dark circles under them, and tears overflowing from excessive sadness, making my eyes red and swollen.
In order to prevent my classmates from noticing my abnormality, I had to keep my head down all the way to the classroom. But no matter how well I disguised myself, I couldn't escape the charming eyes.
"Wow, Xiaole! Did someone hit your eyes?" She opened her mouth in surprise, and her arched lips were big enough to fit a boiled egg!
"Shh, keep your voice down, everyone will notice it soon." I stretched out my index finger and made a gesture of speaking in a low voice.
"Then tell me secretly, what's wrong with your eyes?"
I couldn't resist Jiaomei, so I had to tell her the truth about everything that happened between Ju Chenxi and me.
"No way! My sixth sense is right!"
"What is your sixth sense?" I asked puzzled.
"It's about the fact that you like Ju Chenxi. I said that I felt that the relationship between you and Ju Chenxi was weird."
"Oh, okay, am I being too obvious about my liking you?"
"It's okay. I'm a detective, Detective Lin, who is good at seeing through all expressions!" Jiaomei paused and said thoughtfully, "But I think, listening to your description, maybe Ju Chenxi also cares about you in his heart."
"Don't be funny, he doesn't like me. Han Shengya has confessed to him." I had no confidence to believe what Jiaomei said.
"Xiao Le, you have to believe that many things can be overturned if you haven't heard them with your own ears or seen them with your own eyes." Jiao Mei said seriously, "So there is still hope for your love. You should always have dreams, what if they come true one day?"
"Really? Do I still have hope? It's possible that Ju Chenxi didn't agree to Han Shengya's confession, and it's possible that he will fall in love with me?" After being enlightened by Jiaomei, my mood immediately improved a lot.
"That's the right way to think. Don't be so depressed all the time. If I were a boy, I wouldn't like a girl who complains about herself like this!" Jiaomei gave me a light pat to cheer me up.
Jiaomei's words make sense. I should cheer up.
As she said, I shouldn't jump to any conclusions before there is a complete outcome.
"Alright, alright, cheer up! Come on, I'll take you to buy taro-flavored Wuyang ice cream cones."
"OK!"
Jiaomei successfully pulled me out of my self-sad mood. I smiled at her and added, "Jiaomei, thank you for always being with me."
"We are good friends after all. Good friends should help each other solve problems!"
Having said that, Jiaomei took my hand and went to the convenience store together.
"Hey, have you heard? The genius Ju Chenxi and that genius female transfer student Han Shengya are very close!"
"They should be together now, they go out together every day."
"The latest news, Han Shengya announced on Weibo that she and Ju Chenxi are together!"
…
As soon as we walked to the door of the convenience store, Jiaomei and I heard a group of girls gathered together and talked about the gossip about Ju Chenxi and Han Shengya.
These gossips were like a bolt from the blue, completely destroying the confidence that I had just restored!
Before long, the news of Han Shengya and Ju Chenxi's relationship spread throughout the campus, with both blessings and insults rang out.
"Xiao Le, don't pay attention to these nonsense news! If you want to know whether something is true or not, why don't you ask Ju Chenxi clearly?" She covered my ears with her hands charmingly, trying to make my ears quieter and away from these rumors that could make me cry at any moment.
"What right do I have to ask him?" I finally couldn't help it, and sadness enveloped me completely.
"Don't you live in the same house with him? As half a family member, you should at least care about his emotional state." Jiaomei said righteously.
Although what Jiaomei said made sense, I was still a little scared because I was timid.
"I will be with you, don't worry. Only if I ask you clearly, you won't think too much and won't be sad."
Jiaomei kept giving me courage, and I finally mustered up the courage to go find Ju Chenxi to find out about this matter.
Without caring about the Wuyang ice cream cone, we decided to go find Ju Chenxi to find out the truth and then immediately turned around and headed towards the classroom.
I made an appointment with Ju Chenxi and came to the thousand-year-old camphor tree downstairs. Jiaomei was staring at Ju Chenxi and me from a distance, and she was sweating for me. As the person involved, I was so nervous that I kept wiping the sweat from my palms onto the edge of my skirt.
I bit my lip and dared not look directly into Ju Chenxi's eyes.
"Well, I want to ask you something." After careful consideration and inner struggle, I finally took the initiative to break the awkward silence between Ju Chenxi and me.
"Did it reach your ears so quickly?" he asked me back, with a very calm expression.
"Ah? What?"
"Aren't you just asking whether the rumor this morning about me and Han Sheng dating is true?" Ju Chenxi hit the nail on the head. He is like a worm in my stomach, able to see through my thoughts at any time.
"How do you know I want to ask this?" Having my thoughts seen through, I didn't dare to look him in the eye.
"I don't want to explain this matter. If there is nothing else, I'm leaving."
Obviously, I didn't get a satisfactory answer from Ju Chenxi.
After he walked away, my legs suddenly lost their weight and immediately collapsed. Jiaomei rushed over, patted my shoulder, and gave me a lot of warm comfort.
"Since Ju Chenxi chose to answer with silence, then don't think about it anymore. Thinking too much will only increase your troubles."
"Then what should I do? Jiaomei, can you tell me, I feel so sad now!" I was already crying.
"There is a way called diverting attention. Now you devote yourself to another thing, so you will have no time to care about Ju Chenxi and Han Shengya."
It seems that, at the moment, there is no better way than this.
If it really can make me stop thinking about them for a while, then I am willing to try any method.
