Chapter 5: Sadness Hidden in the Dark Eternal Night 02
"Xiaoya, you're here! Let's have breakfast together." Aunt Liu opened the door, saw Han Shengya, and greeted her warmly.
"Good morning, Auntie! Auntie, I brought you some chocolate cake." Han Shengya smiled like a flower and walked inside flatteringly.
Watching Han Shengya put the cake on the dining table and then run to the kitchen to busy herself around Aunt Liu, I couldn't help but reveal a depressed emotion on my face that I couldn't hide.
"Hey, why are you looking so sad so early in the morning?" Just then, Ju Chenxi appeared. Seeing that I was acting strangely, he asked directly.
"No, nothing." I said listlessly and put the yogurt and grapes in my hand on the dining table.
"Who annoyed you again? It's so weird!" He said as he walked over and sat at the dining table, picked up the yogurt I had just prepared, opened the bottle cap, and drank it down with gulps.
I took out a bunch of grapes and wanted to wash them and give them to him, but I saw him holding a chocolate cake beside him and looking at it with interest.
At this time, he probably didn't know that Han Shengya had come home.
"Did you buy this cake?" He pointed at the cake and looked up at me.
"No, no. That, was bought by her." When I saw Han Shengya helping Aunt Liu bring out the sandwiches I had just started to make, I used my eyes to signal him in the direction of the kitchen.
"Good morning, Chenxi, you're up." When Han Shengya saw Ju Chenxi, her face smiled like a flower.
She trotted to Ju Chenxi with a look of joy on her face, but at this time, she shook her head in front of Ju Chenxi deliberately, as if she wanted to reveal something on purpose.
I suddenly shuddered, remembering that every time I saw Han Shengya before, she always had her bangs down, like a Barbie doll, but today, she had her bangs tied up high.
The first second that Ju Chenxi saw Han Shengya, his pupils dilated slightly, probably similar to my reaction. The change in head shape still has a very obvious visual effect.
But then, I noticed that Ju Chenxi's expression changed slightly; from the dilation of his pupils to the furrowing of his brows, to a few seconds of semi-trance state, and finally his entire face was filled with disbelief.
I carefully watched all these subtle changes in his expression.
What happened to Ju Chenxi?
This is the first time I've seen him have such a big mood swing in such a short period of time in all the time I've been with him.
It's finally time for breakfast.
However, it seemed that except for Aunt Liu, the three of us all had our own concerns, and it was quite awkward for us all to sit together.
Somehow, I had a vague feeling that something was going to happen, and a feeling of disquiet slowly began to bother me.
I put the sandwich I made into my mouth, but I had no appetite to eat it.
"Xiao Le, are you okay?" Aunt Liu's voice brought me back from my detached state.
"Oh, no, it's okay." I looked up and saw everyone looking at me. My heart tightened and I was so flustered that I could hardly hold the chopsticks.
"I think there's something wrong with your face! If you feel uncomfortable, go back to your room and rest for a while." Aunt Liu said with concern.
I glanced at Ju Chenxi at this moment. His eyes had long left me and were staring at Han Shengya's forehead. I looked in the direction of his eyes and noticed the key point that I had always ignored and felt was wrong - that is, on the left side of Han Shengya's forehead, there was a black mole that was exactly the same as mine when I was a child!
Whether in size, color, or position, they are surprisingly similar, to the point of being completely identical.
But, she could actually show this mole so openly. Thinking back to the time when I was a kid, I had always protected that mole very carefully because of what that young boy said, and later I just had it removed.
Could it be that Ju Chenxi was staring at her mole?
Just when I was trying to analyze Ju Chenxi's psychology, Ju Chenxi had already disrupted my thoughts.
"Han Shengya, come to my room for a moment." He looked at Han Shengya with a serious expression, and after saying that, he went straight back to his room.
Ju Chenxi's full attention was on Han Shengya, and he didn't even enjoy the breakfast I carefully prepared. At this moment, my mood was like an eggplant hit by frost, extremely wilted.
"Aunt Liu and Xiaole, take your time eating. I'll go to Chenxi's room first." Han Shengya smiled brightly as if she had received great news, which was in stark contrast to my pale face at the moment.
"Why is Xiaoxi acting weird today? Xiaole, you're acting weird too? What's wrong with you two?" Aunt Liu noticed something unusual and grabbed my hand and asked with concern.
"It's nothing! Auntie, don't worry." In order to dispel Aunt Liu's worries, I tried hard to force a smile on my face.
"Why do I feel like you all are absent-minded? But it's okay. You've grown up and have your own worries." Aunt Liu patted my shoulder. This warm gesture made me unconsciously think of my mother whom I hadn't seen for a long time.
I saw that everyone had almost finished eating, so I stood up to clean up the dishes. Aunt Liu saw me and immediately stopped me, saying that I had gotten up early and worked for an hour or two, and now I should go back to my room to have a good rest or go to the living room to watch TV.
I was a little absent-minded because of the matter between Ju Chenxi and Han Shengya, so I didn't insist too much and went back to my room thoughtfully.
I wonder what Ju Chenxi and Han Shengya are discussing. Are they having a happy conversation?
Are they discussing homework? Or has Han Shengya confessed her love to Ju Chenxi?
Will Ju Chenxi agree to Han Shengya’s confession?
These complex and chaotic emotions weighed heavily on my heart, making every breath I took feel uncomfortable.
I don't know why, but I suddenly felt very wronged. Tears started to spurt out like a broken fountain. I don't know how long I cried, I only know that when I was tired of crying, I fell into a deep sleep.
When I woke up, it was almost noon.
"Then I'll leave first. See you at school."
"OK."
Just as I opened the door and was about to go to the kitchen to get a glass of water, I heard the voices of Ju Chenxi and Han Shengya talking outside the door.
Moreover, their actions at this moment were so intimate that I couldn't help but stay where I was.
Han Shengya coquettishly tugged at Ju Chenxi's clothes, and said reluctantly, "See you tomorrow," with a sweetness on her face. Ju Chenxi did not reject her intimate gesture.
Although I didn't see the same joyful expression on his face as Han Shengya's, the coldness he usually showed when he was alone with girls had completely disappeared.
My heart suddenly felt like it was being cut by a knife. I tried to take a deep breath to calm myself down and wait a little longer. Once Han Shengya left, I could ask Ju Chenxi what was going on.
But it seemed like the tears didn't want to obey, they started to flow out again. I raised my head and looked at the ceiling, trying to let the tears flow back.
I hid at the corner of the door and waited until Han Shengya left. Then I slowly walked out and came to Ju Chenxi who was still standing there in a daze.
In fact, deep down, I really wanted to know whether Han Shengya had confessed to him, and why they had acted so intimate just now. However, when I was in front of him, I still didn’t dare to ask directly.
Finally, the first thing I blurted out was: "I bought you some very fresh grapes this morning. They are delicious. I want to thank you for taking care of me these days."
"Oh, you're welcome, but I don't want to eat grapes now." Ju Chenxi said coldly. When he was about to say the next sentence to me, he suddenly swallowed his words back.
"Do you have anything to say to me?" I couldn't help but ask.
"No, I'm going back to my room." Ju Chenxi said, without even looking at me, and went straight back to his room.
His answer made me feel like my heart was bleeding, as if countless thorny roses were growing in my heart, piercing my flesh and blood, making my internal organs extremely painful.
All of a sudden, I felt like a clown.
Perhaps, Han Shengya has successfully confessed to him?
Does he want to tell me the good news?
I dragged my heavy body back to my room in frustration.
Why do I have to choose to kill this relationship before it even starts so soon after I realize that I like someone?
While questioning myself, I once again opened the four-string guitar that symbolizes luck from the drawer and thought of the little boy who brought me happiness.
Once upon a time, I actually confused that young boy with Ju Chenxi. I thought Ju Chenxi would be like that young boy, bringing me peace of mind, warmth and happiness. But I knew that I was wrong, so wrong!
From now on, his warmth will be given to Han Shengya!
