Chapter 5: Cowardly Man
Halfway through the first class in the morning, He Shu walked into the classroom with blood all over his face, causing exclamations from his classmates .
Song Jing slapped him outside the school gate and was stopped by the school security, but her long nails left several bloody marks on He Shu's face.
He Shu simply disinfected the wound in the school clinic. When he saw He Zhicheng coming to take Song Jing away, he did not go forward, nor did he let him see him. He quietly returned to the classroom.
Xia Miao was absent-minded this morning and kept looking back at He Shu.
He Shu looks like her mother, with a bit of a masculine and feminine appearance. She is very pretty and has fair skin.
Three long bloodstains were extremely obvious on the fair face.
Finally, school was over and He Shu went home alone to have lunch as usual. Xia Miao followed him for some unknown reason.
After going upstairs, He Shu opened the door, looked at Xia Miao who was standing at the corner of the stairs, wanting to say something but hesitant, and locked her outside.
Xia Miao was frustrated, but also somewhat relieved.
She didn't know why she followed He Shu to his house. Even if He Shu invited her in just now, what could she say?
Said: "He Shu, does it hurt?"
"So silly." Xia Miao covered her face and ran away. As a girl of fourteen or fifteen years old, she was still ignorant about love. She only knew that He Shu was really handsome.
It was still a bowl of plain noodles with two small green vegetables in it. After He Shu finished eating the noodles and washing the bowl, there was a knock on the door.
He Shu opened the door and saw He Zhicheng standing nervously at the door. His hair was no longer neat and the collar of his shirt tucked into his pants was a little messy.
"Xiao Shu, are you okay?"
A hint of fear appeared on He Shu's face. He pursed his lips and let He Zhicheng into the house.
As soon as he entered the house, he saw Qi Yue's smiling face. He Zhicheng felt nervous for a moment, and then he looked at his son's scratched face and the aggrieved expression on his face, and felt even more guilty.
He Zhicheng raised his hand and wanted to pat his son's shoulder, but years of separation made him a little stiff when he wanted to do such an intimate gesture. He withdrew his hand awkwardly before it even touched his son's shoulder.
At this moment, He Zhicheng is no longer the playboy who is fickle and looking for passion, but just an old father in his forties who is somewhat timid towards his strange son.
"Shu, your Aunt Song has postpartum depression. Daddy promises you that he will take good care of her and will not let her hurt you again."
He Zhicheng brought Song Jing back home and shouted that he wanted to divorce her.
But when Song Jing sneered and said that she was going to his unit and jumping off the building with her child in her arms, He Zhicheng wilted.
Why did he stand up straight and divorce such a good wife and find such a shrew? It was because he had a stable job in a government agency.
If Song Jing makes a fuss about this, he will lose his job.
He Zhicheng is no longer young. He drinks wolfberry tea in the office all year round. If he really loses his job, no one will want him to work even if he has to move bricks at a construction site.
He Zhicheng, who was caught in Song Jing's weak spot, almost knelt down and swore, which made Song Jing calm down.
Song Jing would not really destroy him until the last step. After all, she had given birth to a child with He Zhicheng, and if they really wanted to divorce, she might not be able to find a man with the same conditions as He Zhicheng.
The man who was defeated by Song Jing finally went to see his innocent son, but that was all he could do. He could no longer bring himself to take his son home.
He Shumu looked at the cowardly man in front of him in silence, and suddenly felt that it was not a bad thing for his mother to separate from him so early.
In the afternoon, when He Shu went to school, there was a bottle of yogurt on his desk. He Shu looked at the stiff figure in front of him for a while, then stood up and brought the bottle of drink to the teacher's podium.
When Xia Miao saw that the yogurt she had given away was handed over by He Shu, her shoulders suddenly slumped.
When the teacher came to class, she asked several times who it belonged to, but she didn't dare to say anything. So this bottle of yogurt, which was despised by others, ended up in the English teacher's stomach.
Xia Miao's desk mate is a boy named Lai Huaguang. He is the class monitor and always ranks first or second in academic performance.
Lai Huaguang has always looked down on He Shu. As the class monitor, he has a good family background, is valued by the teachers, and is supported by his classmates. Everyone calls him class monitor. Only He Shu has never looked at him straight in the eye.
His deskmate Xia Miao, who was like a little fairy, was arranged by the teacher to sit at the same seat with him. Wasn’t it because the teacher thought they were a good match?
Lai Huaguang felt jealous because the little fairy who was supposed to be with him was staring at He Shu, a man with average grades and a weird personality, behind him every day.
When the get out of class was over, Lai Huaguang gathered several male classmates who usually flattered him, and they whispered in a corner, agreeing to teach He Shu a lesson after school.
He Shu didn't know all this. He always focused on his own things at school and didn't make any friends. Only Xia Miao noticed something was wrong.
After school, He Shu was on duty. Another male classmate who was supposed to be with him secretly ran away, so Xia Miao found an excuse to stay in the classroom and help him with his work.
After cleaning, the two walked out of the campus. He Shu walked towards his home with his schoolbag on his back. Xia Miao was originally heading in another direction, but she saw Lai Huaguang and several classmates walking out of a small supermarket opposite the school and heading towards He Shu's home.
What were they going to do? Xia Miao, who had always felt that Lai Huaguang was acting strange today, followed behind him.
She walked along the street that He Shu often walked all the way to the downstairs of He Shu’s house, but she didn’t see them. How could she have lost them?
Xia Miao ran up to the third floor and knocked on the door. He Shu was not at home. She clearly saw him walking this way after school, and Lai Huaguang and several male classmates were following behind him. Where did they go?
Xia Miao came down from upstairs and walked towards the school again. This time she began to pay attention to the alleys on the side of the road, and sure enough, she found the boys fighting in a group.
"Stop!" Seeing several male classmates pressing He Shu to the ground and Lai Huaguang riding on He Shu and punching and kicking him, Xia Miao didn't know where she got the courage from, she ran over and pushed several people away.
"Why did you hit He Shu? Lai Huaguang, you guys are beating up one person, you are shameless!" Xia Miao pushed them away and pulled He Shu up from the ground. He Shu's originally clean school uniform was covered with mud and sand. He had been protecting his face, so it was hard to tell where he was injured.
"Xia Miao, this is a man's business. You as a girl shouldn't get involved." Lai Huaguang became even angrier when he saw Xia Miao standing on He Shu's side.
"What man and woman? If you bully He Shu again, I will tell the teacher tomorrow!"
Lai Huaguang's face turned black. He didn't want to quarrel with Xia Miao, so he shouted at He Shu: "What are you hiding behind the little girl for? Do you dare to fight her one-on-one?"
He Shu pushed Xia Miao away and rushed forward, and fell to the ground with Lai Huaguang. They punched and kicked each other without any rules.
Boys of this age are still very loyal. When they heard that Lai Huaguang wanted to challenge He Shu, no one stepped forward to attack him.
Xia Miao was anxiously shouting to stop the fight, but no one paid any attention to her. Finally, a nearby resident heard the fight and came out to see a group of kids in junior high school uniforms, and separated the two of them.
