Chapter 5 Brave Heart

How many bridges do I need to walk across, how many people do I meet, how many views do I see, how many eyes do I touch, before I can meet you again? How many Buddha statues do I need to kneel down to, how many river lanterns do I need to light to make wishes, how many wooden fish do I need to break, before I can take a photo of "Meet Bai"?

In the library, on the third floor, An Ran stood behind a row of bookshelves. She had seen everything that had just happened between Xu Jue and Su Moli. After Su Moli had gone far away, she slowly walked to the side of Xu Jue, who was still standing there in a daze.
"I didn't expect that Master Xu, who would never bow his head even if he was wrong, would have to apologize one day!" An Ran imitated Xu Jue's usual behavior and looked at him with a smile, "I thought you couldn't say the word 'sorry' since you were born."
Xu Jue turned his head away and pretended not to care: "I just don't want people to misunderstand that I bullied a girl."
"You talk as if you've never bullied me." An Ran exposed him mercilessly, "But have you ever apologized to me?"
"You are different from her." Xu Jue said awkwardly, "She is so stupid, bullying her is not fair."
"That is to say, in your heart..." An Ran blinked and analyzed meaningfully, "Su Moli is a special existence?"
Of course Xu Jue refused to admit it. What was so special about Su Moli?
If I have to say something special, it would be that I am particularly stupid.
Xu Jue was about to speak, but An Ran didn't give him a chance. She waved her hand and strode out, saying, "Don't explain. Explanation is just covering up."
Xu Jue was not in a hurry to explain. He just smiled indifferently. Of course, only he knew what he was thinking.
However, that night, Xu Jue suffered from insomnia for the first time. After much thought, he attributed his insomnia to the fact that embarrassing Su Moli in public would damage his gentlemanly demeanor in front of everyone. Fortunately, he thought he had a hundred ways to make up for it.
So, late that night, he made two phone calls and sent an email.
The first call was to Xia Shiyu. When Xia Shiyu picked up the phone tremblingly, Xu Jue asked directly, "Is there any way to change my major?"
"Of course, you should write an application first, and then wait until the end of the first semester of your freshman year to take the major transfer exam. After the exam, you can choose based on your scores..."
Before Shi Yu finished speaking, Xu Jue interrupted her and said, "What if I want to transfer now?"
"Well, then we can only try to get a recommendation from a well-known professor, or donate a laboratory to the school or something like that might work..." Before Shi Yu could finish his words, Xu Jue on the other end said "thank you" softly and hung up the phone.
Xu Jue made his second call to his financial advisor, and he started by saying briefly, "Transfer 10 million yuan from my account to me tomorrow. I need it urgently."
The person on the other end seemed to be dazed and had just woken up: "Will you transfer it tomorrow? Mr. Xu, the stocks and funds you currently hold have a bullish trend. If you transfer them out..."
Xu Jue paused, and for the first time patiently explained his intention to others: "The photography laboratory in our school is not very convenient for me to use, so I plan to donate a laboratory to the school."
"Okay, Mr. Xu, I understand." The other party knew that this rich young man was always firm in his investment in his studies, and knew that there was no room for persuasion, so he immediately said: "Transfer it to your account before ten o'clock tomorrow."
The last email was sent to his mentor, Professor Wang, who was far away in the United States. After greeting his mentor in the email, Xu Jue went straight to the point and asked the professor to help write a letter of recommendation for an undergraduate student who needed to change his major.
Xu Jue knew that the professor had always been fond of him, and he would definitely not refuse such a small task. And given his mentor's status in the academic community, the school leaders would definitely not reject his mentor's face, and he donated the laboratory. Su Moli's change of major was settled.
It was late at night in early autumn, and the night was slightly chilly. After sending the email, Xu Jue was in a good mood and drank a glass of red wine alone facing the bright moon outside the window. When he returned to bed, he felt that the bed, which he had originally disliked for being too soft, had become comfortable. Even the sound of insects coming from the mountains where the villa was located did not sound so annoying anymore.
That night, insects chirped, the wind was clear and the dew was white. Xu Jue slept without dreams until dawn.
Perhaps November is the lucky month that God gave me. I received a call from my counselor on the morning of November 10th. When I heard the counselor say on the phone, "Su Moli, you can transfer to the photography major and attend the class as an auditor now," I could hardly believe my ears.
Although I handed in my application form to the counselor when I enrolled, as far as I know, C University has always organized a special transfer exam at the end of the first semester of the freshman year, and then admitted students from each major according to their scores from high to low. Why can I transfer before the end of the semester?
Of course, I would never ask the counselor this question. What if the counselor made a mistake, or the school went back on its word?
After hanging up the phone, I happily spun around with my roommate Sun Xiaoli twice before I said to Xiaoli, who looked puzzled, "I can switch to the photography major now."
"Really? Then you have to treat me today."
I answered readily, "Okay, you can choose the place."
The considerate Xiaoli finally chose a cafe near the school that I liked. It was noon when we arrived, and there were few people. The waiter was lazily leaning on the bar, and soothing music was coming from a corner.
Xiaoli was eating dessert while pulling me aside and asking me questions curiously: "Moli, do you have a strong background? The procedures for changing majors in our school have always been very strict, but they made an exception for you."
"No!" I laughed. "The counselor said that I was only allowed to audit the class. At the end of the semester, I still have to take the major transfer exam."
"Then why don't other students who want to change their majors get the same treatment?" She joked, "Tell me, are you an invisible rich second generation or something?"
"Maybe the teachers think I'm dumber than other students, so they let me join the class as an auditor first?" I actually also doubted why I was the only one who was special, but after thinking about it, I was neither the second generation as Xiaoli said, nor did I have any so-called background, so I could only conclude that the teachers knew I was dumb and let me catch the early bird.
"Su Moli, you are really stupid." A cold voice came from the corner.
I turned my head to look and saw a girl sitting in the corner by the window. Her long curly hair almost covered most of her slightly pale face. I recognized her as the girl named An Ran. I don't know why, sometimes even though she was smiling faintly, I could clearly see endless sadness in her eyes.
"Ah?" I didn't understand what she meant.
"Of course you have a 'backer'!" An Ran said, "Xu Jue is your backer."
I subconsciously said, "How is it possible?"
It’s good enough that Xu Jue doesn’t target me.
"The Xu Jue you are talking about..." Xiaoli pulled my sleeve gossipingly, "Could it be the legendary Xu Jue?"
"Yes, that Xu Jue!" An Ran nodded and said casually, "I heard that he donated a laboratory to the school for this matter. But it's nothing, the laboratory probably only costs about 10 million."
"Ten million!" Xiaoli opened her mouth in surprise and looked at me suspiciously, "When did you and Xu Jue..."
To be honest, I was just as shocked as Xiaoli. I asked An Ran in disbelief, "You mean, it was Xu Jue who helped me change my career, and he donated 10 million to help me change my major?"
An Ran didn't say anything, but nodded at me from across the table.
"Why?" I thought this was even stranger than the Arabian Nights.
"Then you should go ask him." An Ran stood up and prepared to leave. After taking two steps, she looked back at me who was standing there stupidly and said, "Oh, by the way, he should be in the library at this time."
After An Ran left, I hesitated for a minute, but decided to go find Xu Jue to find out.
There were more people in the library at noon than I had imagined. Some were reading intently, while others were resting at the table. In the quiet and large reading room, I searched row by row. After a few minutes, I suddenly realized that there was no way I could find Xu Jue in this way. All the boys' faces here looked exactly the same to me, and I racked my brains for a long time to think about Xu Jue's expression, voice, and habitual movements, but my mind was still blank.
To me, the boy named Xu Jue is just a stranger whose name I know.
I stood there in a daze, and time seemed to have gone back to the early summer morning when I was 12 years old. I was standing in front of Chu Yubai's classroom, feeling nervous, annoyed and frustrated because I couldn't recognize him in the crowd at first glance.
The desperate and helpless feeling of frustration that had been hidden deep in my heart for so long surged up again. I stood there, at a loss. A boy opposite me looked at me. He had a navy blue windbreaker and neat short hair. This was probably all the knowledge I could find about Xu Jue in my brain.
So, without thinking, I walked towards the boy and called him in a low voice: "Teacher Xu..."
The smile on the boy's face froze and he looked at me with a confused look.
I was so embarrassed that I didn't know what to do. I knew that I had recognized the wrong person again. It just happened to be a boy wearing a navy blue windbreaker and short hair.
I don’t know why, but my nose suddenly felt a little sour. It turns out that “navy blue” cannot represent the boy named Chu Yubai. Now, navy blue often appears in my world, but I know, I know deeply that the only “navy blue” that belongs to me has disappeared.
"Su-Mo-Li!" A cold and sharp voice, as if tainted with a thin frost in the early winter morning, came clearly from behind me. She called my name word by word, with a hint of disappointment in her.
Only Xu Jue would call my name with gnashing teeth like this.
I turned around and saw Xu Jue lazily sitting on a chair, crossing his arms and looking at me like I was a monster: "Are you looking for me?"
"Teacher Xu..." I walked over and was about to speak when he raised his hand to stop me.
He seemed impatient and said, "Don't call me teacher, I'm not that old yet."
"Well, what should I call you?" Of course I couldn't just call him by his name, as that would probably make him even more furious.
But he said as if he was angry: "Whatever."
I thought about it and said, "Then I'd better call you Teacher Xu."
Xu Jue didn't say anything, but looked up at me, with a hint of sharpness in his dark pupils. I knew he was not satisfied with my answer.
"Are you..." I was about to ask him about changing his major.
He suddenly narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, "Su Moli, is my face so ordinary? Is it so ordinary that you can easily mistake anyone for me?"
He narrowed his eyes and looked straight at me. There seemed to be a metallic luster in his black pupils, and a cold smile on the corner of his mouth. It was so strange that he was clearly leaning back in his chair leisurely, but his aura was so strong that it was impossible to think.
"I..." I said subconsciously: "Because the boy was wearing a navy blue windbreaker."
Xu Jue didn't say anything, obviously he couldn't accept my answer.
I had no choice but to say, "Because, when I first met you, you were also wearing navy blue."
He was stunned for a moment, then called my name in a gritting tone: "Su-Mo-Li, do you only look at people's clothes and not their faces? Do you know that the most intuitive way to distinguish a person is to judge by their appearance, and the best way to distinguish appearance is the face..."
He suddenly paused, with a slight surprise on his face, and then he understood: "You...you are..."
"Yes, that's right." I nodded. I don't know why, but I suddenly admitted my unknown defect to Xu Jue, who I didn't know very well, "face blindness."
Xu Jue frowned: "So that afternoon, on the way to the teaching building, next to the lawn, you didn't recognize that the person standing next to the car was me?"
I looked at him blankly, trying to recall the scene he described in my mind, but to no avail.
I shook my head gently: "I can't see everyone's faces clearly, or rather, the faces of all the people in this world are exactly the same to me, so..." I was shocked to realize that I had unknowingly said something I shouldn't have said to the stranger Xu Jue.
He turned his head away and whispered as if he was a little disappointed: "So, this is not a game..."
"Game?" I didn't understand what he was saying.
"Nothing!" He quickly returned to normal, leaning back in his chair, looking at me with his chin slightly raised, with a cynical look, "What do you want from me?"
I just remembered the purpose of this trip. I glanced at him who turned his head away and said to myself, "This morning, our counselor informed me that I can transfer to the photography major and audit the class first."
He replied, "Yeah." Nothing else.
I had no choice but to continue, "I heard... I heard that you helped me change my major, and I wanted to come and say thank you."
From beginning to end, Xu Jue tilted his head and looked out the window without saying a word.
I thought he was probably regretting helping someone like me who was so dumb and didn't know how to read people's faces, so I had to ask tentatively, "Well, is it too late now? If I don't join the class as an auditor, can I get back the lab that I donated 10 million yuan for?"
"Su Moli!" Xu Jue turned around suddenly. "Who told you that I helped you change your major? Do you think I would help you?"
He didn't look at me when he said this, and his tone was indifferent, but I always felt like he was competing with himself.
"Second, yes, I donated a lab to the photography department, but that was entirely because I was not comfortable using the old lab." He spoke very quickly, not giving me a chance to speak. "Third, why do you think you are worth my donation of 10 million? Are you worth it? Who are you to me? Su Moli? Hmm?"
I was speechless by his question. After thinking about it, I felt that what he said made sense. Why would Xu Jue, who I met by chance and had a bad aura with when we first met, donate a whopping 10 million yuan for me? What's more, I had said bad things to him in the library last time. Unless he is a fool, he would not donate 10 million yuan to help me change my major.
But is Xu Jue a fool? Xu Jue, who is said to have such a high IQ, is definitely not a fool.
"Oh, sorry, maybe I made a mistake." I lowered my head and murmured, "But why did the counselor let me audit the photography major in the middle of the semester?"
Xu Jue suddenly stood up and said, "How should I know! Then you should go ask someone else."
Then he strode away from me without looking around.
I looked at his departing back in a daze, and then I realized that he seemed angry, very angry, but I didn't understand why he was angry.
Xu Jue walked out of the library in a rage and frustration, but in fact, even he himself didn't understand what he was angry about.
Was it because he knew that the stupid Su Moli was not actually playing the "rejection but acceptance" game with him? Or was it because that fool actually believed that it was not him who helped her change her major? Or maybe it was just because he found that he, who was always calm, could easily get angry because of that girl named Su Moli.
This is so unlike the cynical self who seems to care nothing.
Xu Jue walked out of the library in big strides, the cold wind blowing in his face. He stood in the wind, lit a cigarette, took a deep breath, and the white smoke lingered between his breaths. As he slowly exhaled, Xu Jue calmed down completely. He decided that from now on, he would no longer pay attention to the girl named Su Moli. The two phone calls and the email he sent that late at night were just his compensation for accidentally making her cry, nothing more.
Xu Jue put out the cigarette butt and threw it into the trash can beside him, shaking his head and smiling in self-deprecation. She was just Su Moli. He really didn't understand why he suddenly lost control just now.
He thought about it and couldn't help laughing to himself. How bored was he? Was it worth getting so upset just because he lost someone who he had expected to "play games" with him? It really lost the demeanor of Mr. Xu.
Xu Jue shook his head and even felt like spitting on himself for what he had done just now.
However, the next morning, when Xu Jue stood in the huge cloakroom in his pajamas, he realized how bored he was. He looked at the rows of coats, and for some reason, a sentence suddenly popped up in his mind -
"Because the boy was wearing a navy blue windbreaker. Because, when I first saw you, you were also wearing navy blue."
Then, as if his brain was out of control, he quickly picked out all the navy blue clothes from countless rows of clothes. Finally, he chose a cashmere coat with exquisite texture from that row of navy blue clothes.
When he was adjusting his collar in front of the mirror, he realized that this kind of "compromising" approach to please others was not like his style. He looked at himself in the mirror and hesitated whether to change into a different color of clothes, but soon he found a legitimate reason for himself. He thought that Xu Jue always did what he wanted to do. Could it be that because of Su Moli's words, he would never wear navy blue again?
Therefore, on this day, Xu Jue wore his navy blue cashmere coat to school with confidence, but when he drove slowly into the campus, he suddenly felt a little uncomfortable for some reason, as if everyone's eyes were staring at his navy blue coat.
When he arrived at the office, Shi Yu was also surprised and said, "Wow, Senior Brother, Senior Brother, you rarely wear navy blue clothes!"
After she finished speaking, she glanced at Xu Jue and said, "In fact, people with fair skin are more suitable for wearing navy blue. Of course, Senior Brother, you look handsome in it too."
Xu Jue's skin is a healthy and sunny wheat color.
"What do you mean?" Xu Jue stopped and looked at Shi Yu, asking for advice seriously.
This was the first time in Shi Yu's memory that Xu Jue cared about other people's opinions and comments. She was of course very scared and stammered, "Well...well, I mean, Senior Brother, this is a good way to dress... It's so unique, different, and ingenious..."
Shi Yu was at a loss for words before Xu Jue let her go. He nodded as a matter of course: "Well, is it eye-catching?"
“No, no…” Shi Yu shook his head, and suddenly realized that he seemed to have said something wrong again. He nodded quickly and said, “Yes, yes, it’s very eye-catching! How can senior brother not be eye-catching? Especially today, wearing this navy blue, it’s really eye-catching…”
Before Shi Yu finished speaking, Xu Jue's handsome face had quietly turned cold, and he walked away in silence with a negative feeling.
Shi Yu secretly stuck out his tongue, as if he hadn't said anything in the end...
What she didn't know was that Xu Jue, who was usually calm, became inexplicably nervous just because she said "navy blue is very eye-catching".
It was not until that morning when Xu Jue met Su Moli in the corridor of the Photography Department's teaching building that he realized why he was so nervous.
He was afraid that Su Moli would misunderstand that he wore the navy blue coat for her. He just happened to want to wear this coat today, and this coat happened to be navy blue.
So, when he saw Su Moli holding a textbook and walking towards him from the other end of the long corridor, he almost subconsciously turned sideways to avoid her. But the next second, he looked at Su Moli, whose facial expression did not change when his eyes swept over her, and suddenly realized that she did not recognize him, even though he was wearing navy blue.
At that moment, somewhere in Xu Jue's heart seemed to be pricked by something sharp, and then an inexplicable feeling of irritation surged up.
He didn't want anyone to notice his abnormal mood, so he locked himself in the ancient book library on the top floor of the library, which was seldom visited.
Unfortunately, that afternoon, in that library, he saw Su Moli again. This time, she still didn't recognize him. Even though he deliberately walked over and brushed past her, she just treated him as air. His eyes followed her all the time. He watched her take the "Zhaoming Wenxuan" from the bookshelf, and then watched her leave. However, from beginning to end, her eyes never stopped for a moment because of him.
That day, Xu Jue met Su Moli for the third time. It was at night, in the pavilion on the back hill of the school. The early winter night in City C was already bleak and cold, and the pavilion was in a steep and remote location, so no one should have come. But just by chance, Xu Jue walked there, and when he looked up, he saw Su Moli standing in the bright moonlight.
She seemed surprised as well, wondering why someone would come here, and hurriedly tried to avoid Xu Jue and go back. Xu Jue realized that she had mistaken him for a dangerous stranger.
That nameless anger surged up again. Xu Jue looked at her who was coming towards him and called her name in a low voice: "Su-Mo-Li..."
"Xu..." She seemed startled and looked up at him in astonishment. She did not say the word "teacher" in the end, probably because she remembered the last time he expressly forbade her to call him teacher.
"Have you finally recognized me?" In the cold moonlight, Xu Jue's eyes seemed to be tinged with chill.
But she said without thinking: "You are wearing navy blue."
It turned out that she recognized him only because of this clothes, not because of his tone, expression, or anything else. Without this navy blue suit, he would still be just an unnecessary stranger in her eyes!
Xu Jue was stunned for a second, turned around silently, and walked away quickly, like a guilty and awkward child whose secret was accidentally discovered.
Xu Jue pursed her lips tightly, walked out for a long time, looked down at the navy blue cashmere coat on her body, and subconsciously curled the corners of her mouth slightly. Even if she only recognized him because of his clothes, it was good.
The cold and damp December arrived in City C, and I began to prepare frantically for the CET-4 exam. My roommate Xiaoli therefore nicknamed me "Superman Su Moli".
Because I changed my major midway, I missed a lot of professional courses and needed to make up for it. In addition, I was preparing for the Level 4 exam and time was tight. I missed the elective course "Architectural Photography" two or three times. Whenever I thought of the cold and sharp Xu Jue, I always felt uneasy. Fortunately, I heard from other students who took this course that Xu Jue never called the roll, so he probably didn't notice that I didn't go to class.
Therefore, on the first Saturday morning of December, I planned to skip the Architectural Photography class again and go to the lecture hall 201 in the North Teaching Building to do the Level 4 simulation test. However, on the way from the dormitory to the lecture hall, I met Xu Jue.
The sun was unusually bright that morning. I walked along the cobblestone path beside the grove to the lecture hall. From a distance I saw a boy leaning against the Roman column at the entrance of the lecture hall, with his head slightly lowered, a cigarette between the middle and ring fingers of his right hand. The warm sun was clearly falling on him, but his whole body exuded a cold and crisp aura. In the amber sun, his navy blue coat was particularly eye-catching.
I don't know why, but I subconsciously determined that the person was Xu Jue. I wanted to turn around and avoid him, but he seemed to have sensed it and suddenly looked up at me: "Su Moli..." His low and hoarse voice seemed to reveal some repressed emotions.
"Xu..." I pronounced the word "teacher" guiltily, making it sound like the hum of a mosquito.
He seemed a little surprised: "Ha, how did you recognize me this time?"
"You're wearing navy blue," I said. "Last time, you were wearing navy blue, too."
I was just stating the facts, but he suddenly seemed to get angry and said awkwardly, "Am I wearing navy blue?"
I looked at him in confusion and nodded.
He said as if he was angry with someone: "How do I know this coat is navy blue? It's just a coincidence. I'm color blind."
"Oh." I breathed a sigh of relief, "I thought..."
"What do you think?" He interrupted me quickly, narrowing his eyes and turning his face to the side. "You don't think that I deliberately wear navy blue so that you can recognize me, do you?"
I quickly shook my head. If I didn't answer, he would probably ask something like "Su Moli, who do you think you are?"
When he saw me shaking my head, he seemed even angrier. He stared at me sideways, turned his head away, and suddenly fell silent.
I thought he had finished talking to me, so I lowered my head and carefully walked past him.
"Su Moli!" He said suddenly without turning around, "This is the fourth time you've skipped the Architectural Photography class."
I froze where I was, not daring to move. It turned out that he noticed every time I missed class.
"I'm sorry!" I explained guiltily, "I've missed a lot of major courses and need to make up for them. I don't want to fail the final exam, and I'm going to take the CET-4 exam soon, so..."
"So what?" His eyebrows slightly raised, "So, you think I won't fail your course, right?"
I hurriedly shook my head. Although as far as I know, teachers of elective courses rarely fail students, but with Xu Jue's temper, it's hard to say...
Sure enough, he narrowed his eyes and said, "Su Moli, if you don't come to my class again, I'll give you this." Obviously, he said it casually, but I could hear a clear and distinct "threat" in his words.
After saying that, he turned around and walked away without looking back. I knew he was going to the teaching building next door to attend the "Architectural Photography" class, so I had no choice but to trot behind him and go to class obediently.
It was Saturday afternoon, and Xu Jue was driving home after finishing his elective class when he gradually lost his focus. It turned out that Xu Jue also had this day. In order to meet someone, he actually used the threat of "failing the course". As long as he thought about how he had become so abnormal for an insignificant Su Moli, he felt inexplicably irritated.
This irritable mood continued until he returned to his villa halfway up Fengming Mountain. He parked the car and went straight upstairs to the study without even eating.
Xu Jue quickly turned on the computer and typed three words into the Baidu search box before he was suddenly stunned and realized what he was doing.
He stared at those three words for a long time, as if those three words were his imaginary enemy, and those three words were, Chu Yubai.
Xu Jue was stunned for a few seconds, but finally pressed the Enter key. He convinced himself that he just wanted to know what kind of person Chu Yubai was, and what he did had nothing to do with the girl named Su Moli.
Xu Jue quickly found Chu Yubai's blog. He saw Chu Yubai's photo in the blog and roughly knew his academic level from the words he wrote.
Xu Jue stared at the computer screen and smiled knowingly, thinking to himself, he is just a boy with similar academic performance to me when I was young and with a pretty face.
However, when he was about to close the blog, his right hand holding the mouse subconsciously paused. Then he quickly scrolled down the blog page, and blog posts after blog posts described the daily life of the boy named Chu Yubai, looking up at the sun on the lawn next to the grove; thinking about the moon in the pavilion on the back mountain of the school; studying in the North Teaching Lecture Room 201; borrowing "Zhaoming Wenxuan" from the ancient book library on the seventh floor of the library...
Su Moli standing on her back on the lawn; Su Moli appearing in the pavilion on the back hill; Su Moli going to the North Teaching Lecture Hall; Su Moli borrowing the Zhaoming Wenxuan...
It turned out that her life had always been just following Chu Yubai's footsteps step by step. She was immersed in her and Chu Yubai's little world, stubbornly refusing to come out, and it was impossible for others to enter.
The wind blew in from the open window, blowing away a stack of manuscripts on the table. Xu Jue stood up silently and chased after them. One step, two steps, three steps. The manuscripts were like butterflies flying in the wind. They were clearly within reach, but he couldn't catch them. Xu Jue's handsome face suddenly became angry. He no longer paid attention to the manuscripts. He took a few big steps back to the window and used a lot of strength to close the window with a "bang". After a loud bang, the high-quality glass shattered all over the floor.
The cold wind blew in, and Xu Jue stood in the wind, lowered his head, and leaned against the window sill in frustration. He was so angry, not because Su Moli had been following Chu Yubai's footsteps, but because he saw a sentence in bold font in one of Chu Yubai's blogs: "I only wear navy blue in my life, and I only hope that you can recognize me from the crowd at first sight."
I see!
Xu Jue subconsciously clenched his fists. It turned out that "only wearing navy blue" was not his "patent", but he was "imitating" others.
He was so proud and arrogant that he hated others imitating him the most in his life, and he was the most disdainful of imitating others. The funny thing was that in the end, he unknowingly became a funny clown who imitated others!
Xu Jue was almost furious. That anger came from his disgust at his own almost "flattering" behavior of wearing navy blue clothes. The angry Xu Jue decided to completely block Su Moli out of his world from then on.
Therefore, at the end of the month, Xu Jue finished the last "Architectural Photography" class without even raising his head. So, he didn't know whether Su Moli came or not, and he didn't want to know.
After New Year's Day, there were two consecutive weeks of final exams. Xu Jue never met Su Moli again, as if Su Moli had disappeared out of thin air. Xu Jue didn't feel any difference, except that when changing clothes in the morning, he would occasionally accidentally pick up the wrong navy blue clothes, be startled for a moment, and then put them back on the hanger without hesitation.
At the end of the semester, when Xu Jue was giving grades for Architectural Photography, he was visibly stunned when he saw the name "Su Moli" on the student list. But in the end, he still impartially gave Su Moli a failing score of 58 .
On the first day of winter vacation, Xu Jue drove to the school as if by magic. He walked aimlessly in the school for a long time before he finally understood the purpose of his trip. Because the moment he saw Su Moli in the pavilion on the back hill, he suddenly realized that he wanted to see Su Moli.
This realization made him panic, and his brain ordered him to "leave immediately." However, when he turned around, he caught a glimpse of the girl squatting dejectedly in the pavilion. She had her head buried, and seemed to be crying softly. At that moment, his heart immediately told him not to leave.
So, on that unusually cold morning when the breath turned into frost, worry completely overcame reason. His proud self-esteem struggled only a little before it collapsed and he compromised completely.
