Chapter 4 The Man on the Tombstone 03

Not far away, a black nanny car drove along the tree-lined avenue towards the event center, and a group of fans who had been waiting on the roadside rushed up with bouquets of flowers.
Sometimes reality is cruel. To a certain extent, Wang Meiwen is not even a third-rate star. She is not popular. She has only taken one advertisement in her first year of debut. Recently, I heard that she was spotted by a big director and was going to take on a new movie.
She came to our school to promote her new play and to increase her popularity. The school hosted this event to expand the extracurricular life of college students. Wang Meiwen is not a big star, so it shouldn't cost much to invite her.
Mosquito got out of the car, dressed in bright clothes, radiant and dazzling. Her face was still familiar to me, except that she was not as young as before. It was just that the aura she exuded made me feel particularly unfamiliar.
A girl in high heels walked past me with a bouquet of flowers in her hand and a smile on her face, followed by a large group of people maintaining order.
As a volunteer, I stood stiffly by the side wearing a red vest, looking at my old friends passing by, and a sudden sense of sadness arose in my heart.
She passed by me without seeing me. When she turned into the activity center, she turned around, waved and smiled at everyone. Her smile was bright and brilliant.
I stood quietly in my position, holding the billboard, and followed the pretty figure closely. She was clearly standing in front of me, but she seemed so far away; I saw her every move, but I couldn't see through the strange soul under the gorgeous appearance.
The students came forward curiously to watch, and I just felt someone push me, and a few people passed by me from behind, laughing and chasing into the activity center. And I, because of the sudden collision, lost my footing, stumbled, and fell to the ground.
I suddenly felt something in my head break, and for a moment, my vision became extremely blurry.
Is this a relapse of the neurological disease that even doctors can't diagnose? Am I going blind?
An arm suddenly crossed my waist and pulled me back when I was about to fall to the ground.
I looked up in astonishment and saw Leng Zimo standing beside me with a frown on his face.
"Senior, what a coincidence?"
I gave Leng Zimo a stiff smile. He was wearing the striped shirt that I washed and sent back last time, which still had the scent of jasmine flowers that I had specially soaked with Jinshen.
Just because of that fragrance, I unexpectedly felt a little happy. I forgot that he had a sister named Leng Yuting, and I forgot that he had left me alone...
That’s right, it’s all in the past and we agreed to forget it.
"You are not an officer of the school student union, so why are you here to volunteer?" Leng Zimo let go of me, frowned, looked at me with confusion while smiling, and asked in a cold voice.
"Oh, one of my roommates said they were short of volunteers, so I came over since I had nothing to do." I explained, half-concealing Chen Yishan's name.
Leng Zimo's face turned gloomy.
"Lack of people? These people really know how to talk! There will only be more people in the Student Union, not less, so how could there be a shortage? I said that the people from the Student Union should do the work, but they actually found someone to replace them!" Leng Zimo snorted coldly with a dark face.
I immediately felt that something was wrong, and asked tremblingly, "Didn't they say that they would recruit volunteers from ordinary students ? How come it became mandatory for members of your student union to participate?"
"Who said that? If you want to be lazy, then just be lazy. Why make up a bunch of nonsense!" Leng Zimo continued to yell, then glanced at me coldly, frowned even more, and began to reach out to pull the volunteer vest on me.
"Take this thing off and go do whatever you need to do. You have nothing to do here."
"Didn't you say we had to stand until the end of the event?" Before I could finish my sentence, Leng Zimo was already holding my vest and striding towards the other volunteers.
Leng Zimo, with a gloomy face, forced several students who were taking the substitute class to take off their vests. Then he paused suddenly, turned back to me, lowered his head, took out a stack of tickets from his trouser pocket and handed it to me.
"I just forgot to ask for a ticket to enter the activity center today. This is given to me. I don't need it anyway, so you can take it!"
A stack of VIP tickets was stuffed into my hand, and I was a little overwhelmed to react for a moment.
I'm alone, one ticket is enough, why did he give me so many? Also, even if he has good relationships, he doesn't have to be like this. It looks like these VIP tickets are hard to get, but he was given so many.
"Why aren't you going in yet? Weren't you staring at that female star just now? Aren't you her fan? Or do you not know the way? Never mind, I'll take care of the replacement tonight, I'll take you in first!"
Without giving me a chance to speak, Leng Zimo kept muttering to himself for a while, then grabbed my arm without giving me a chance to refuse, pinched the volunteer vest in my hand with his arm, and dragged me into the activity center.
The student in charge of ticket checking saw Leng Zimo and didn't even let us take the tickets. He just called us "senior" and let us in.
This is a blatant backdoor! Leng Zimo is really not setting a good example!
Seeing my contemptuous expression, Leng Zimo's eyes darkened, and he snatched the tickets from my hand, stuffed them all into the hands of the ticket inspector, and waved his hand, saying, "It's ours."
A full man does not know the hunger of a hungry man. There are at least more than ten tickets here, and there are still many students outside who don’t have tickets and want to get in!
"Count the total number of tickets and let a few more people in."
Leng Zimo was like a worm in my stomach. I just glanced at him and said nothing. He then frowned and shouted the same sentence to the ticket inspector again, then continued walking forward.
I followed behind Leng Zimo and was shocked.
As expected of the student union president and the school's top representative, his ability to read people's expressions is better than others.
