Chapter 3: The Oath

Chapter 3 Oath

After leaving the door, Selsi and Tarasha stopped pretending to be polite. From the previous test, they knew that the other party was smart.

"I'll be frank. I'm not curious about your previous identity, nor am I curious whether you really lost your memory, but if you want to get out of here safely, you must promise to forget what happened in this forest."

Selsi crossed her arms and warned Tarasha.

Tarasha knew that she was in a weak position now, so she had to agree.

"I want you to swear in the name of Sigrid."

Selsi remained motionless.

"Hmph, okay."

Tarasha stared into her eyes, "But I can't be the only one to swear, how can I guarantee that you will take me out?"

Tarasha's eyes were cold, like a venomous snake ready to attack.

"No problem, together, you host."

Selsi stretched out her left hand straight, raised her right hand and raised three fingers.

Tarasha immediately wanted to cover the back of Selsi's hand with her left hand, but before she touched it, Selsi suddenly pulled her hand back.

"No, I forgot. How can I guarantee that you won't add anything else to the oath?" Selsi put her hand down and took a step back.

Tarasha had to raise her hand and swear alone, "I swear in the name of Sigrid. The oath I will preside over will only include how to leave the Forest of Oblivion."

As soon as the words fell, Tarasha felt her heart being entangled, which proved that the oath was effective.

Sigrid is the goddess of justice. Swearing in the name of the goddess of justice on this continent will have a real effect.

Putting hands together is a ceremony for multiple people to swear. The person at the top of the stack is the host of the ceremony. The content of the oath is determined by this person, and the oath is observed by all participants. If the oath is violated, it will be cursed and tortured to death.

Selsi then stretched out her hands again, and Tarasha placed her left hand on top of hers, raising her hands and swearing, "I swear in the name of Sigrid that Selsi Melrose will take Tarasha out of the Forgotten Forest safely, and I will forget what happened here."

At this moment, both of them felt their hearts being entangled by silk threads, and Tarasha felt that her heart was tied tighter than before, because she made two vows at the same time. But after a moment, this tight feeling disappeared.

Tarasha stopped talking, but her cold face eased a little.

She thought, if Selsi didn't want her to get out alive, whether she died or not, she had violated the first half of the oath. Even if she died, she would drag someone down with her, but it was hateful...

As for being attacked and killed by the dense forest, haha, seeing the other party's calm and composed appearance, she knew that the other party must have a way, otherwise she would not let her preside over it.

Suddenly, she caught the silk scarf thrown by Selsi, interrupting her thoughts.

"Cover your mouth and nose, this can prevent poison gas."

Selsi touched her neck and felt a chill. She had been wearing it as a scarf before, and she felt uncomfortable after taking it off.

This silk scarf was found by Selsi in the ruins of a temple in the desert. It should be a high-level magic weapon.

Talasha re-evaluated Selsi's identity in her heart. She looked like an ordinary bard. Only bards would carry a lyre and wear fashionable clothes so exaggeratedly.

But she could appear safely in the depths of the Forgotten Forest, and could easily take out such a high-level magic weapon. She must be more than just a bard. She became more vigilant against her.

Selsi knew too well how much her actions could cause the other party to fluctuate, but she didn't care. She knew that the other party knew clearly that without her, she would definitely not be able to get out of this forest, so she didn't worry about the other party attacking her, and she didn't care about the high-level magic weapon. What if it was taken away by the other party? For her, this thing was not very useful, just missing a piece of clothing.

The two of them left the depths of the forest with their own thoughts and headed towards the outer town.

After Tarasha put on the veil, she found that the air was indeed much fresher. At the same time, she observed that Selsi did not wear any protection and was not affected by the poisonous gas, which was all highly toxic. She was more certain that this person was definitely extraordinary.

She followed behind Selsi and keenly noticed the monsters lurking in the dark.

It was really bad to be stared at by countless eyes in the dark. Greed, bloodthirstiness, chaos, and the crisis that could pounce on her at any time reminded her of the time in the Shadow Abyss.

But these are just commonplace for her now. After all, she is a monster that crawled out of the abyss, and this memory is not a good one.

Thinking of this, her eyes also flashed a trace of fierceness.

After she came out of the wave of memories, Selsi stopped.

"We've been here before, remember?"

Selsi looked around vigilantly.

Hearing her words, Tarasha also looked around.

"We're trapped here and keep going in circles."

She quickly realized that she was trapped in a maze.
