Chapter 25: Stranger
A sturdy middle-aged man was walking towards the town from the port.
Although it was a hot season, he was wearing a black windbreaker and a cowboy hat on his head.
Walking on the street in brown short boots.
He was holding a cloth bag in his hand, which looked heavy.
As he walked, I could hear him humming an unknown tune, and he seemed to be in a good mood.
Residents coming and going in the town looked at this middle-aged man who had never appeared in the town with curiosity from time to time.
Until he disappeared into the town.
Keep going along the path and your destination is the center of the island.
The cemetery on the island and where the statue of the Stone Mother is located.
Right at the entrance to the cemetery.
Priest Pakchi was already standing there, waiting quietly.
Looking at the figure walking towards him in the distance, he couldn't help but smile.
After a while, the figure came in front of him. It was the strange man who had just appeared in the town.
"Andre, you're here."
Only then did the figure raise his head and take off his cowboy hat.
He has short, slightly dull silver hair, and his exposed face looks mature and handsome.
A conspicuous X-shaped scar appeared on his left eye, but it did not damage his eye.
He still had a cigarette in his mouth, and he habitually spat it out on the ground and stomped it out with his foot.
Then he saw Parich frowning.
"Okay, okay."
The man said helplessly, bent down, picked up the extinguished cigarette, and casually threw it into his pocket.
Then he said, "Tell me, why did you ask me to come here? What can I help you with?"
After hearing this, Parich stared at him and said calmly, "I want you to help me train a child and let him join your treasure hunting team."
"Huh?" The man was a little surprised.
"Did I hear you correctly, Parich? You're going to send a child into my treasure hunt?"
Looking at the somewhat surprised face of the man in front of him.
Palicki said, "Andre, that kid is 16 years old."
"16 years old? That means he has just reached adulthood. If you say so, he must be from Home Island too."
"You have to know that my job is not fun. Fighting and death will always be with you."
At this point, Andre couldn't help but take out another brand new cigarette from his pocket.
"I can't go out of my way to take care of him because of you."
After saying that, he put the cigarette in his mouth and rubbed it between his thumb and index finger to light it.
He took a deep breath and exhaled a puff of smoke.
"And most importantly, not everyone can join the treasure hunting team. It requires sufficient knowledge and experience."
“He has certain knowledge and experience, as well as talent.”
Hearing what Parkchi said, Andre looked at him with disgust.
Doesn't seem to believe it.
After all, he is just a 16-year-old child from Home Island.
It's so well protected.
"I'm not lying. Just a week or two ago, he found Jack's treasure hidden on the island on his own."
Hearing this.
"Oh?" Andre made an interested sound.
"That magician Jack?"
"right."
"It's interesting, but that treasure should be enough for him to live a carefree life, right?"
Hearing this, Parkchi shook his head: "The treasure was taken away by someone else first, and he got nothing ."
After he finished speaking, he was stunned for a moment, then reorganized his words and said, "But... he should have obtained Jack's inheritance and experienced the magical power."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, I think I understand."
After listening to Parkchi's words, Andre smacked his lips and said.
"A young man who has just reached adulthood is interested in treasure hunting, and he is also able to actually obtain treasure, and most importantly, he has experienced magical powers."
"Unlimited wealth and magical power are so tempting."
Parker nodded in agreement.
Such temptation is so tempting for a 16-year-old child.
They had been through this before and knew clearly that blocking it would only backfire.
"What's his name?" Andre asked with some interest.
"Arka, Arka Ragu."
"Alka?!"
Hearing some changes in Andre's voice, Parkchi looked at him and asked, "Do you know him?"
"It's even more interesting. Okay, no problem. I promise you, I'll take this person. As long as he shows the potential he deserves, I'll take him to 'Touch'."
“…”
"That's why you wanted me to take him, isn't it? There's no one better than me."
"Okay, stop looking so sad. It's a rare opportunity for us to get together. Come, let's have a drink."
"OK."
…
Alka, standing in his own courtyard.
Next to the big tree in front of him , a human-shaped target appeared without him noticing.
It was filled with straw and had various markings on it.
As the arms swing.
Two silver lights, in an arc shape, pierced the target's forehead and neck.
The two silver lights turned out to be two cards made of thin metal sheets, flashing sharp light.
A few more silver streaks passed by.
They flew in from all angles and pierced its stomach and thighs, and one even spun around and pierced its back.
Then, Alka stretched out his right hand and snapped his fingers.
Another card appeared in his hand and he threw it away.
The card drew a straight line and stabbed into the target's forehead.
This card has a red heart printed on it.
It's in the style of a playing card.
Alka bowed like a gentleman and pulled his hat.
"Excuse me."
At this time, Sigert's voice came from outside the yard.
"Arka, Arka."
Hearing this, Alka quickly straightened his body, pulled the tie off his collar, and then took off his hat and threw it on the side of the house.
He walked towards the target in front of him as if nothing had happened.
Sigurd pushed open the gate of the yard and rushed in.
Looking at Alka's appearance, he was slightly stunned.
"Um... aren't you hot?"
Alka was wearing a white lining and a black vest on the outside.
Straight, neat trousers and a clean pair of boots.
There was a white handkerchief with a corner sticking out from the chest pocket of the vest.
"Ahem." Alka coughed without changing his expression.
He took the card off the target and put it away, then walked towards Sigert, kicking the top hat on the side of the house further away.
Sigurd looked at the metal card in Alka's hand and said with a smile, "How is it? It's well made, isn't it?"
"Very good, I like it very much."
Alka had a total of 12 metal cards on him, which he had commissioned Sigurd to customize for him when he went to Turan Island later.
12 cards cost me two silver snakes.
But it's definitely worth it.
Perfectly met my needs.
"What's the matter that brings you here so quickly?"
"Oh, yes, yes, listen to me." Sigt came back to his senses and said quickly, "There is a new ship at the port. I tell you, that ship is very beautiful and looks very expensive."
"I heard from the uncle that there was another middle-aged man I didn't recognize who went to the cemetery wearing strange clothes."
"How about going to the harbor to see that ship? It's really beautiful."
Hear what Sigurd said.
Alka couldn't help but feel a little excited.
A strange expensive ship, a strange man going to the cemetery.
Could it be that the treasure hunting group that Parkchi mentioned has arrived?
Just thought of this.
The voice of Priest Pakchi was heard from outside the courtyard.
