Chapter 22 Zhou Family
Zhou Yanchen's mother is Liang Jing.
Looking at the two people at the door, she said indifferently: "Officer, let me see your police ID again."
Luo Xun patiently showed her his police ID, and she became more polite. She motioned to the nanny to open the door: "Come in."
Luo Xun and Chi Xia followed him in, only to find that there was a man sitting in the living room. When they walked in, the man's eyes looked over at them, stern and distant.
Luo Xun and Chi Xia recognized him as Zhou Yanchen's father, Zhou Zhengguo, the famous surgeon.
His gaze is more oppressive than that of his wife Liang Jing.
Even Chi Xia and Luo Xun could clearly feel the coldness . He sat there calmly, looking at the two people who came in.
"Please take a seat, both of you."
Liang Jing guided Chi Xia and Luo Xun to sit down, and told the nanny: "Aunt Zhang, make two cups of tea."
She sat down next to her husband, her manner elegant: "What are the names of the two officers?"
"Luo Xun."
"Late summer."
"Officer Luo, Officer Chi, is there any case that requires our cooperation?"
She clearly seemed to be smiling, but the smile did not reach her eyes. Chi Xia always felt that she would suddenly ask a question next.
"Serial murder case." Luo Xun spoke, his eyes fixed on them.
Zhou Zhengguo slammed the cup he had just picked up on the table. "Nonsense! How could our family be related to a serial murder case?"
"It can't be said that they are related."
Luo Xun glanced at the overflowing tea: "Many clues in the case point to your son. To be on the safe side, we need to confirm some issues. It would be good if Mr. Zhou is not a suspect, but what if..."
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
Hearing her son's name, Liang Jing stood up, no longer as calm as before: "How could Yan Chen be related to the murder case, officer, I'm a lawyer, I can sue you for defamation, you know!"
Luo Xun glanced at Chi Xia and nodded slightly.
Chi Xia took out relevant evidence and leaned forward: "These three are the victims in our case. After investigation, the three victims had participated in the exhibition of drowning victims held by Mr. Zhou. This event was mainly held for people with depression. Two of the paintings in the "Help" series, which Mr. Zhou paid a lot of money to collect, happened to appear in the homes of two of the victims."
"As a collector, Mr. Zhou Yanchen must like his "Help" series very much. I heard that this series of paintings was specially created by the painter for the depression group, and it incorporates psychological knowledge. However, these two paintings, which are also sold at extremely high prices, appeared in the homes of two victims who cannot afford to buy paintings..."
She observed the expressions of Zhou Yanchen's parents. Zhou's mother was extremely shocked, and Zhou's father had a cold expression, but he could not hide the anger in his look.
Chi Xia continued, "You two, in this case, we must investigate it thoroughly, don't you agree? Otherwise, with so many coincidences, we can't say for sure that Mr. Zhou has no suspicion at all. This is our job, please understand."
Luo Xun took over Chi Xia's words and said, "Yes, it's just a routine procedure. It doesn't mean that your son is the murderer."
"Yan Chen can't be the murderer!"
Liang Jing suddenly yelled, scaring the nanny who was bringing the tea so much that some of the tea on the plate spilled out.
She was in a hurry to change a new one, but Luo Xun stopped her and said, "Please excuse me, there's no need to change a new one."
Zhou Zhengguo stared at the relevant photos on the coffee table and said in a dignified voice: "Aunt Zhang, put down the tea, and step aside."
The nanny quickly put down the tea and soon disappeared into the living room.
Liang Jing no longer had the calmness she had when they first met. There was worry in her eyes, and she showed the weakness of a woman when facing her husband.
She squatted down and grabbed her husband's wrist, her voice trembling: "Zhengguo, Yanchen will not kill anyone. He is our child, you know it very well."
Throughout his life, Zhou Zhengguo has enjoyed conveniences that ordinary people cannot enjoy . Standing at the crossroads of Rome, he has the qualification to do whatever he wants and choose what he loves.
His father had experienced a brief period of turmoil, so he was willing to fulfill his son's dream, but he also told him, "You are relying on me. I don't want you to betray me, but I want to see how far you can go without me."
Perhaps he wanted to prove something, or perhaps because he really loved it, he endured all these years and now he has achieved success, but he knows how difficult the journey was.
It wasn't until his child was born into this world that he finally understood his father.
I have already opened up a smooth road for you, why do you insist on choosing a completely different path? Do you know how many people want this opportunity but don't have it?
He didn't want his child to be as reckless and ignorant as he was, so he was very strict with him. However, he never imagined that the three men in this family would choose three completely different paths as if by fate.
He can paint and collect things, but which of those messy things he likes doesn't rely on the glory of this family?
Studying medicine can help you cure diseases and save lives, studying law can help you enforce the law, but what can he do if he studies an art?
That's entertainment, it's escape!
"Zhengguo! Say something!" His wife shook his wrist, her voice full of forbearance.
Every time, every time she faces her son, she is always like this, losing her dignity and principles!
"You are the one who indulged him!"
He shook off his wife's hand and angrily shouted, "You are happy now. Something happened, someone died, and you are scared now, right? I tell you, it's too late!"
Liang Jing didn't expect that her husband would suddenly accuse her for no reason. She looked at him in disbelief, with infinite anger rising in her heart.
"Why are you blaming me? You know he doesn't like studying medicine, but you still force him to learn it! Dad knows he doesn't like business, but he still forces him to do it even at the risk of death. He just likes painting, he just likes it, and you all think he is shameful!"
She took a deep breath, "That was my child after ten months of pregnancy. I was in pain for two days and two nights when I gave birth to him. What's wrong with me letting my child do what he likes? But you, he has always longed for your praise and recognition over the years, but what did you bring to him? You said in front of so many people that he was uneducated, shameful, and a disgrace to your Zhou family!"
“Bang!”
Zhou Zhengguo's teacup was smashed to the ground by him, and he lowered his head and shouted angrily: "Stop talking!"
Liang Jing seemed to be brought back to her senses by the shout. She suddenly realized what she had just done. For a moment, the lawyer looked flustered and confused.
"Every time you encounter something with him, you become impulsive and unlike yourself! Is there any evidence to prove that he is the murderer? Why are you so panicked!"
Zhou Zhengguo glared at her and said, "Sit down!"
Luo Xun and Chi Xia had seen enough, so they spoke up at this time. Luo Xun said, "You two, we just want to know some information. In fact, apart from these so-called coincidences, there is no clue to show that Mr. Zhou is the murderer."
Zhou Zhengguo raised his head and gave him a heavy look.
These words were like a boost of confidence. Liang Jing took a few deep breaths and regained her original composure.
She looked at Luo Xun and Chi Xia: "Then, my son can't be the murderer. I believe in my child. As for you two, I hope you can clear my son's name as soon as possible. If you cause any damage to my son's reputation without solid evidence, I promise that I will sue you to the end."
"Of course, we defend every innocent citizen." Chi Xia walked towards her without fear of her gaze.
Luo Xun had been paying attention to Zhou Zhengguo. When his wife was talking to them, his eyes were fixed on the photos. He couldn't see the expression in the doctor's eyes, but he could feel that he was very uneasy at the moment.
"Well then." He finally raised his head again: "Two officers, what do you want to know today?"
