Chapter 2: The chaos and your gentleness 02
Climbing a mountain is a tiring task, but I don’t know what method Wen Shu used, but the children she was in charge of were still jumping around when they reached the top of the mountain, and didn’t complain of being tired at all.
When we reached the top of the mountain, we found a large open space and everyone sat down on the ground.
After a short break, Grandpa Yu spoke first: "Alright, all classes, pay attention!" Everyone looked at Grandpa Yu, "Line up and get ready... Start! "
Yu Qianlin, who was in charge of logistics, was on standby. As soon as he received the order, he immediately played music, set up the camera and started recording.
"Refine your will and strengthen your body. Overcome all obstacles and fight bravely..."
Against the backdrop of the grand and inspiring background music, the slogans were particularly inspiring.
Wen Shu, as the only girl, stood at the head of the team without looking out of place. She punched hard, raised her legs neatly, and performed every move to perfection and meticulously.
Her figure appeared on the camera screen, and Yu Qianlin suddenly remembered a time when she was practicing martial arts.
Grandpa Yu forced him to join in practice, but he protested, "Grandpa, do you have to be so serious? What if I hurt her, she'll ask me to pay for the medical expenses. I won't go..." He was about to walk away muttering, but Grandpa Yu stretched out his arm, pulled him back, and threw him into the practice room.
"Grandpa!" he roared.
"So much nonsense!" Grandpa Yu patted the hand that was holding him in disdain and said, "Okay, you two practice first while I go and rest for a while."
Wen Shu stopped what he was doing, replied "OK", and ignored Yu Qianlin who was full of complaints.
Yu Qianlin sat down on the ground, his hands open and resting on his bent knees. He said unhappily, "Come on, let me see your strength first."
Hearing this, Wen Shu looked down at him, but didn't say anything more. He adjusted his breathing and started moving again.
But Yu Qianlin could find mistakes in almost every move.
"Stretch out your hands!"
"Legs up!"
"Clenched fist! Did you miss your meal?"
…………
Gradually, Wen Shu became impatient. She stopped her actions in a huff and rushed to Yu Qianlin: "You are so powerful, then you come!" As she said that, she punched Yu Qianlin.
Yu Qianlin naturally didn't take this trick seriously. Almost in an instant, Wen Shu's hands were tied behind her back and she was pinned to the ground, unable to break free. She turned back and glared at Yu Qianlin, but she saw that his eyes were full of seriousness and earnestness, without the malice she thought.
Wen Shu was stunned and stopped struggling.
"Is that all your patience? Why bother learning martial arts? You might as well memorize a few more words!" Yu Qianlin once saw Wen Shu reciting words in a low voice while doing horse stance. At that time, he already vaguely knew that Wen Shu didn't seem to be very good at studying .
Wen Shu was suddenly poked in the pain spot and struggled even more violently.
"Wen Shu, I don't know why you insisted on coming, but since you are here, you should learn well. Martial arts is not something that can be treated casually!" Yu Qianlin said seriously. He could feel Wen Shu's anger and dissatisfaction, but in the end he quietly released his strength.
Wen Shu, who managed to escape, slowly turned his sore wrist and said with a little disdain: "You tell me! Master asked you to come to practice with him, not to teach me a lesson."
"Hey, why are you so ungrateful?" Yu Qianlin was stabbed by Wen Shu, and his ruffian spirit came out again, "Okay! From now on, you have no chance to regret!"
"Come!" Wen Shu clenched his fists, bowed, and faced the battle head-on.
She was like a tireless little beast, constantly being defeated but constantly rushing forward.
“Come again!”
“Come again!”
Wen Shu's enthusiasm completely infected Yu Qianlin, and he put aside the last bit of scruples in his heart and fought with Wen Shu seriously. Even though her moves were still immature, even though she used her hands and feet at the end and forgot the rules, she was still a respectable opponent.
Grandpa Yu watched his grandson staring at the camera screen with his mind wandering. He walked over and kicked Yu Qianlin in the calf, bringing him back to his senses.
Yu Qianlin reacted and bent down to rub his injured calf, complaining dissatisfiedly: "Grandpa, can you not be so violent?"
"What are you looking at?" Grandpa Yu followed his gaze and Yu Qianlin quickly blocked the screen. "Nothing. I just wanted to find the best angle to record the video so I can show it to my parents when I get home."
"Okay, record it carefully." Grandpa Yu returned to his original position with doubt.
Yu Qianlin's gaze returned to the screen.
Wen Shu's face had turned slightly red from the sun, and her thin clothes were already soaked, wrapping around her young body, but she was completely unaware.
Yu Qianlin couldn't help but think of what Wen Shu said to him after the practice that day.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to make myself stronger, so I won’t allow myself to take my training lightly.”
At that time, Wen Shu's face was filled with unprecedented satisfaction and happiness. Yu Qianlin suddenly felt as if something had stabbed his heart, making him feel extremely sour.
The more they interacted, the more similarities Yu Qianlin found between him and her, and the more he wanted to find out more. Just like now, the girl moved against the wind, like a star stepping on the glow of the sunset, which was amazing.
The five-day event soon came to an end. When everyone gathered together, they were still reluctant to leave and kept saying they wanted to come again in the future. This made Secretary Chen very happy.
Before leaving, Yu Qianlin did a final headcount check. He sighed in his heart, "It's finally over. I was so tired these past few days that I almost doubted my life."
When checking the review class, Yu Qianlin was surprised to find that no one was reviewing the lessons.
He asked the other children, "Where's Sister Wen?"
"I know, I know, Sister Wen went to look for Tiaotiao!" Tiaotiao is the most mischievous of the five children.
"Looking for Tiaotiao?" Yu Qianlin was puzzled.
"Yes! Spring said it was fun in the country and he didn't want to go back. He must be hiding!"
Grandpa Yu heard the noise and came over and asked, "What's going on?"
"Tiaotiao is missing. Wen Shu went to look for him but he hasn't come back yet." Yu Qianlin said in a heavy tone. He had just called Wen Shu, but the ringing of a cell phone not far away told him that Wen Shu didn't bring his phone.
Grandpa Yu frowned, turned around and said to Secretary Chen, "Old Chen, I'll have to trouble you to contact the villagers to help me find the child."
"No problem!" When Secretary Chen heard that the child was missing, his heart tightened. Nowadays, every child is a treasure. If the child is really lost, it will be a troublesome thing for him. Thinking of this, he did not delay any longer and turned around to ask the villagers to go look for the person.
Then Grandpa Yu called Yu Qianlin and several other martial arts masters over, pointed to the bus parked nearby and said, "Send the children to the bus, and then split up to look for them. I'll be watching here, so there won't be any trouble."
Everyone followed his advice, and at last he said to Yu Qianlin, "Don't forget to review your lessons."
Yu Qianlin nodded solemnly, and the joking expression on his face disappeared. He picked up his bag for studying and walked deep into the village.
The noisy children seemed to be infected by the tense atmosphere between the adults. They stopped making noise and became quiet.
Although the village is not big, it has many winding places that make it easy to get lost.
After searching aimlessly for the book, she found nothing and felt a little anxious. She tried to use her cell phone to notify everyone, but it was empty. She kicked the stone next to her in frustration, but she used too much force and slid down the hillside. She felt a sharp pain in her left ankle.
No doubt, it must be a sprained ankle.
After sitting on the ground for a long time, she finally propped herself up and stood up. Her left foot couldn't even touch the ground, so she picked up a wooden stick and barely supported herself.
After walking a few steps, Wen Shu heard Yu Qianlin calling her.
"Yu Qianlin! I'm here!" Wen Shu shouted .
The footsteps came closer and closer, and soon, Yu Qianlin appeared in her sight. He rushed over in a few quick steps, held Wen Shu's arms steadily, and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Fortunately, I just twisted my ankle." Although Wen Shu didn't want to admit it, the moment she saw Yu Qianlin, her eyes immediately became hot. She lowered her head in panic and said, "I lost Tiaotiao."
The voice was low, mixed with a barely perceptible sob.
Yu Qianlin's breathing stagnated. He supported Wen Shu and walked forward: "I'll look for it with you."
An hour passed quickly. The village was not big, so everyone searched the village inside and out, and also searched the nearby paths , but found nothing.
Grandpa Yu frowned upon hearing the news. The atmosphere became tense, the bus driver began to honk impatiently, and parents in the activity group began to ask, "When can I pick up my child?"
After Yu Qianlin settled the injured Wen Shu, he said to Grandpa Yu, "Grandpa, you take the main force and go first. Contact the local police and Tiao Tiao's parents on the way. I will stay and continue the search with the villagers."
Grandpa Yu stared at his grandson's determined eyes, sighed and nodded.
After a while, the rumbling sound of the bus engine made people even more upset. Now everyone hoped that Tiaotiao was just hiding in some small corner.
Yu Qianlin watched everyone walk away. Just as he was about to ask the village party secretary if there was a relatively inconspicuous place nearby where he could hide people, he heard Wen Shu's calm voice behind him: "Yu Qianlin, I'll go with you."
Yu Qianlin stopped immediately: "Why did you get off the car!"
"I have to get Spring back."
"..." Yu Qianlin stared at her, but Wen Shu looked away, holding on to a wooden stick, and limped towards the village.
Yu Qianlin looked at her determined back, sighed silently, and caught up with Wen Shu.
The two of them didn't speak along the way. After asking Secretary Chen, they focused all their energy on searching those inconspicuous places.
As time passed, both of them began to sweat, not knowing whether it was because of the heat or the urgency.
Yu Qianlin looked up at the scorching sun, and saw that Wen Shu's forehead and neck were sweating like a spring, so he finally suggested, "Let's take a break."
"Yeah." Wen Shu responded. He had just sat down and hadn't even had time to catch his breath when he saw a villager in the distance breathing heavily and waving at them: "Yu family kid... the lost doll has been found!"
"What? Hiss..." Wen Shu suddenly jumped up from the ground. He exerted force with his feet and his left foot suffered secondary injury.
"You should be more careful!" Yu Qianlin quickly helped her steady, complained softly, and said to the villagers, "Thank you for your hard work. Where is Tiaotiao? We will go there now."
"Ah!" The villagers sighed deeply upon hearing this, "You can tell that this kid is really troublesome. He fell asleep in the water tank and woke up crying before being discovered!"
"Which water tank?" Wen Shu asked hurriedly, not caring about the pain.
"Here! Go forward and turn right, it's the one with the most people."
