Chapter 2 Bad Start

Thirteen years ago, the young man who opened the flower shop had not yet grown a straight beard, and Dou Xun was just a middle school transfer student who hated the world.

As for Xu Xilin, whether he admits it or not, he is indeed a real naughty child——

"Go on your way." Xu Xilin kicked their dog away with his toes, snatched the schoolbag from the dog's mouth, and stuffed the cigarette box with a corner sticking out of the bag back into the bag.

The dog might have smelled something and howled at him hysterically.

The dog is called "Dou Dou". It is a mixed breed. At a glance, it probably has multiple bloodlines such as fox terrier, shepherd dog and Chinese native dog. It is a small hybrid in every sense of the word.

As the saying goes, "People are divided into different classes, and dogs are divided into loyal, treacherous, wise, and foolish." Doudou is a loser among dogs. This evil animal is good at bullying the weak and fearing the strong, and at provoking others. Xu Xilin is so annoyed with it that he wants to secretly strangle it to death every day: "You are everywhere, but you are too nosy."

Unfortunately, there are people in the family who support this broken dog.

As soon as it called out, grandma in the room said, "Xiao Lin, are you bullying Doudou again?"

"How dare I?" Xu Xilin put on his bag and said, "Grandma, I'm going to school."

"Leaving so early?" A middle-aged woman ran out of the kitchen. When she saw Xu Xilin's attire, she immediately shouted in surprise, "Why aren't you wearing your down jacket again? What are you wearing underneath? Are you wearing an undershirt? Open the drawstring so I can see."

This is Aunt Du, the nanny hired by his family. She is a distant relative of Xu Xilin's mother. It is said that according to the seniority, Xu Xilin has to call her "cousin". He unzipped his coat helplessly, then quickly closed it, turned around and ran: "Put it on. I have something to do at school. Bye, Auntie."

Aunt Du's eyes were sharper than a needle. She saw that he was only wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt under his thin coat and immediately started to roar behind him: "Come back! You're not wearing any long johns, are you? You're being so arrogant in this cold weather. I'll tell your mother when I get back!"

Xu Xilin ran very fast and disappeared in the blink of an eye when she spoke.

Seriously, what handsome guy in his twenties would wear long johns?

The school starts classes at 2:20 p.m. and requires students to arrive at school at 2 p.m. It was not yet 1:30 p.m. Xu Xilin went downstairs, looked around, hailed a taxi, and went to "Yuebanwan" with a bag of soft Zhonghua cigarettes to give gifts to people.

"Yuebanwan" is a local entertainment venue. Although it is run fairly legally, there are still many decadent and erotic "urban legends" circulating there. It is also one of the places that are prohibited from entering and leaving according to the code of conduct for middle school students. Xu Xilin had to pretend not to see the driver's hesitant gaze of condemnation all the way.

Xu Xilin has an older brother named Song Lianyuan. When Song Lianyuan was a child, his family was favored by Xu Xilin's mother, so every New Year and other festivals, he would bring some things to the Xu family to visit, rain or shine, and regarded himself as Xu Xilin's half-older brother. There is no need to be so distant with the elder brother, but this time it was not Song Lianyuan who helped alone, and Xu Xilin could not let Brother Song owe others a favor because of him.

This time it happened because of his desk mate.

Xu Xilin's desk mate was named Cai Jing. He was very talented, and his writing exercises were often taken out by the Chinese teacher for submission. He also had a good personality, and he was never stingy with the royalties every time he got them back. He would buy drinks for his classmates who had helped him. But he was unlucky. His parents died early, and entrusted him to his uncle's family. His uncle was a drunkard, a gambler, and his wife took the children and kicked him out. Cai Jing had nowhere else to go, so he could only make do with his uncle, doing odd jobs during holidays, or writing small articles with the Chinese teacher to earn some pocket money to make ends meet.

But lately he can't even make do with it anymore because his bastard uncle owes him money at loan sharks.

The debt collector couldn't find the real owner, so he called a few hooligans to block Cai Jing near the Sixth Middle School every day. The boys in the class formed groups of three or five and took turns to accompany him every day. But it was not a good idea to accompany him all the time. Cai Jing didn't even dare to go out on weekends. He finally found a McDonald's that was willing to schedule weekend shifts for him, but now he couldn't go there.

Xu Xilin thought about it and felt that hooliganism could only be solved in a hooligan way, so he paid out of his own pocket to move out his veteran gangster, Brother Song.

After such a trip, Xu Xilin was already late for school.

It has been less than two weeks since the start of the school year, and students are generally still immersed in the winter vacation and New Year's money. There are many day students in No. 6 Middle School, and there are some who are late for class every day at noon, so the discipline in the first class in the afternoon is extremely poor, which is very outrageous.

Therefore, the school sent teachers to guard the gate at noon every day. Anyone who entered the school after the preparatory bell rang at 2 o'clock would be locked outside and deducted points and written to write a self-criticism - not only those who were late would be caught, but also boys who were dressed strangely and girls who had messy hair. Many girls would prepare a wig and tie a loose ponytail before entering the school gate. After "passing the test", they would reach out and pull it up to reveal their true appearance.

"No receipt, thank you." Xu Xilin grabbed his empty schoolbag and jumped out of the car. He looked closely and saw a row of unlucky people standing in front of the school, queuing up to register their class names.

It would be foolish to just rush over and surrender at this time, so Xu Xilin took advantage of the lecture by the pot-bellied head of the grade to sneak to the west side of the school gate - there was no wall there, only a row of iron fences more than one person high.

Young Master Xu's skill in climbing over walls seemed to have reached perfection. He stretched out his hand and hoisted himself up, then leaped over the fence with great ease. His trouser legs didn't even touch the tip of the iron fence, and he landed so lightly that even the wild cats wandering around the school could stop to admire him.

He straightened his coat and swaggered across the playground, waving from a distance to the group of people queuing at the door waiting for points to be deducted. However, his joy turned into sorrow as the head of the grade turned around. Xu Xilin reacted quickly and ran away.

The head teacher narrowed his eyes and looked at Xu Xilin's back, and asked in confusion: "What happened to that student?"

The few people at the door who wanted to die but not die betrayed the man who had just shown off in unison: "Jump - over the wall -"

No organization and no discipline! It's outrageous!

The head teacher was stunned for a moment, then he became furious and yelled at the top of his voice: "Stop right there! Which class are you from?"

Xu Xilin was flying close to the ground like a tornado, thinking to himself, "How could you stop here?"

At this time, on the east side of the second teaching building, Dou Xun was wandering around with his hands in his pockets, bored. His father was flattering the female teacher who had sprinkled three pounds of floral water on him. He felt very annoyed and had no expectations for his future campus life. He also wanted to find a cigarette, so he slipped out to find a secluded toilet.

When passing through the long corridor, he saw several boys in sportswear gathered there. They might be athletes who had just finished training. They were in sync with Dou Xun and were also sharing cigarettes in the secluded corridor.

One of them suddenly stretched his neck to look outside, and nudged the person next to him with his elbow: "Hey, Wu Tao, look at that... Why does he look a bit like Xu Tuanzuo from your class?"

The man with a crew cut named Wu Tao stuck his head out of the window and saw Xu Xilin running towards him. Perhaps he noticed his gaze, so Xu Xilin raised his head, blew a kiss to the people upstairs in the midst of his busy schedule, and then rushed into the teaching building on the side without looking back.

After a while, the dean of studies finally showed up, shouting in a hoarse voice, "Stop!"

The bad boys who were secretly sharing cigarettes burst into laughter: "Awesome!"

Dou Xun watched this farce and thought to himself: "Isn't the brain enough to make up for the noise? It's so noisy."

He put on his headphones indifferently, pushed the door open and entered the small bathroom at the end of the corridor, closed the door of the innermost cubicle, and slowly took out a cigarette while listening to Lincoln Park in his headphones.

After finishing, Dou Xun flicked off the cigarette ash and was about to leave, but just as he pushed the door of the cubicle open a crack, he heard a chaotic sound of footsteps outside. Then there was a "bang" and a man flew in sideways, hitting his back on the radiator in the corner of the bathroom. The man didn't even scream, just made a brief "ugh" sound in his throat, his limbs twitched a few times, and he fell and couldn't get up.

The boy was wearing the white school uniform of No. 6 Middle School. He looked pale and thin, with yellowed corners of his clothes, as if they could not be washed out after being washed many times. He was holding a tattered cloth schoolbag in his hands.

The boys who had been making loud noises outside just now came in, a leader and two followers. The one called "Wu Tao" stood by the door with his arms folded across his chest, keeping watch.

Dou Xun's pupils shrank slightly and his steps paused.

The leader squatted down, tilted his head and looked at the struggling boy on the ground, then grabbed the boy's hair, lifted him up, patted his face and asked, "You brothers are good to you, right?"

The boy was trembling so much that he couldn't speak.

The leader slapped the boy's face several times, each time harder than the last, and in the end he basically slapped him in the face: "I didn't provoke you, did I? I didn't provoke you, did I? You said that we played two rounds of cards last night, which took less than ten minutes in total. Which grandson brought the old bastard of the dormitory manager here? Huh?"

The boy who was picked up stretched his neck hard, trying to relieve the pain in his scalp. His neck muscles were stretched to the surface: "No... It's not me!"

The leader sneered, suddenly grabbed his hair and slammed him against the radiator, hitting him four or five times in a row: "If it's not you, then who is it, me?"

Wu Tao at the door suddenly interrupted coldly, "Class is about to start, hurry up."

This sentence seemed to be an order. Several people who were watching the excitement on the side gathered around and kicked and stomped on the boy. After beating him for a while, they asked him "Is it you?". Finally, the boy couldn't stand it anymore and confessed incoherently. Then the perpetrators seemed to have accomplished their task and completed the interrogation.

"Just admit it, don't worry, I'll deal with you slowly later - I'm leaving now."

After saying that, as the bell rang for class, the group of young thugs dispersed. The boy who was beaten took a long time to stagger to his feet. He reached out to touch the blood on his face, lowered his head and hunched his shoulders to the faucet, turned on a thin stream of water, and carefully rubbed the cuffs of his school uniform that had just rubbed the floor. His hands could not hold the cuffs tightly and they were shaking all the time.

Then he sniffed sharply - he was not crying, but he was bleeding from the nose.

He smoothed the wet corner of his clothes and walked out numbly.

It was not until it was quiet outside for a long time that Dou Xun came out of the small cubicle quietly. He took a look at the blood dripping from his nose on the ground, and then he stretched out his foot to crush the blood bead that had condensed into a dot.

"A key city school that doesn't require entrance exams?" He sneered at the bloodstain in the shape of a moccasin and thought, "Bullshit."
